Reviews of Monarch Mountain Lodge 3*
It was a nice, quaint, place! We enjoyed it!
We were glad to find a room last minute Labor Day weekend. But I can see why this was the only place that had anything available. The hotel needs a lot of work it looks run down in a lot of areas. But it does have some potential I’m sure it was really nice back in its day.
The good:
Close to a lot of OHv trails, Monarch ski area, nature in general. The area along the river behind the hotel is nice, scenic and just relaxing.
That’s about it.
The bad:
No cell phone signal at all, usually not a big deal.
No Wi-Fi: they said sometimes it works in the lobby and if you stand by the elevator it works there sometimes but nothing in your room.
After a long day out on the trail, we’re looking forward to a little bit of hot tub time. We saw on the advertisement there were two hot tubs so we were sure looking forward to. But they did not tell you both of them are out of order.
There are some vending machines, so you can get a snack if you need… whoops sorry none of them work either all had signs stating out of order.
It was a high of 92, the room had no air-conditioning it was hot as hell.
We went into town to have some dinner, but we’re unable to bring leftovers back to the hotel room because there is no fridge in the room.
There was a little coffee maker in the room, the only coffee they had in the room for us was decaffeinated.

I stayed here June 3rd 2021. I very much enjoyed my stay. First and foremost the staff really made my time here enjoyable! From front desk check-in to dinner in the restaurant everyone was amazingly friendly and extremely helpful in every way. Everywhere I went in the hotel was very clean. I want to personally thank Aaron. He helped me in the restaurant. Great guy! If you needed anything. He likely already brought it to you or is in the process of getting it! I also want to put a shoot out to Carl, he was also very helpful in my stay here! I put 5 stars based on how I prioritize my stay. Personally I view my experience with staff as top priority full stop. I put amenities second. This hotel has a lot to offer. There are Hiking trails straight out of the back door. There is a lovely stream fed pond, with a nearby fast flowing creek. A lot of very nice outdoor spaces for gathering or just sitting. There is a Game room with all you would want from a billiards table to a ping pong table and even arcade games. A large IN DOOR pool very nice and clean. Also the are 2 outdoor hot tubs. So much here I’m sure I missed some. Above are all my positives that I took away from my stay.
Here are some negatives: it’s an old building; this means some things are as “nice” as a modern hotel. Hot water for the shower was fine for me no issue, others might say different. So if you don’t mind an old building and enjoy a little bit of adventure Stay here!
