Reviews of Clarion Hotel Denver Central 3*
Last night a black female guest I know was given a non-working microwave; twice. When she asked to speak to the manager, the security guard said “you need to calm down”, she was repeatedly escalated AGAINST, then told to leave. She wasn’t refunded her stay. She’s a professional athlete and has a serious following in her field and online. This hotel really shot itself in the foot with its racist night staff and security. Seems like this place is for trump country.
Over all not a great experience. We were told we could pay to have an early check in and when we got there around 1pm to pay for “said” early check in we were told they don’t do early check ins so we went back at 2:45pm they still couldn’t check us in. Once we finally checked in we didn’t check the bed or blankets because why would we? You’d figure the blankets would at least be clean in this place, right? Nope! There was someone else’s caked on, dried blood with toilet paper on the blanket that we unfortunately slept with for the first night. We went down to the front desk and told them that we wanted at least a partial refund for having to sleep in dirty sheets with clumps of dried blood on them and the front desk acted like they couldn’t do anything and to email them the pictures and that a manager would get back to us. No one ever contacted us about the dried blood even when we were checking out I asked about seeing a manager and surprise the manager was “busy”. So, if you want to sleep with someone else’s dried blood definitely stay here!
This place is very nice! I recommend it!
One of the girls at the front desk must've been having a bad day and decided to take it out on me. She had told me earlier that I was still paid up and still good for this evening and then later in the day said my departure date was today and I had 20 minutes to check out or they were gonna kick me out. When I spoke to her face to face she said that she didn't say I was good for tonight. She wasn't nice about it either. So, I paid my bill ($694.56 for a week) and walked across the street to their competitor at the Radisson. I'm a long haul trucker and I was staying here while my truck is being repaired. The Radisson now has my business 'cause she got her info wrong and then wanted to walk it back after she got it wrong. I would've gladly paid for another night or two but after being talked to like that and then told she didn't tell me I was good for another night, well… there's no way I'd give this place my business. Like I said, I paid the bill. It's my money and thanx for not letting me give you more of it.
Had to wait almost 3 hours after check in to get a room. Room keys didn’t work. Didn’t have any luggage carts available for us. And they said they don’t have enough employees to open the bar.
Charged me a $100 deposit for each night I stayed. Keys never worked.
Good service and a great location.
Hotel keys did not work, ice machine broken, leaking shower, no towels in the room when we checked in, stains on the sheets/blankets/and comforters. Overall would not recommend.
Rooms are clean and quiet 🤫
Good price too.
Want an upfront seat to the circus? Look no further! This place is a ZOO! Extremely dirty and the staff is just as unfriendly and unprofessional.
After checking into my room on 1/14 we realized it’s a “central air and heat” hotel meaning they “control” the temperature of the rooms. My Family and I walked into a room that was at 101, we were helped to a new room that wasn’t “central air or heat” after having to explain the reason we need ac is bc the kids have lung problems and can’t be smothered by the heat. Once switch to the second room our kids started playing with the USED, BLOODY AND DRUG HAVING NEEDLE THAT WAS LEFT ON THE SIDE THE BED. We asked for some type of solution and they moved us to our 3rd room with which was dirty. After complaining and asking for the manager we were called ghetto bc we felt some type of solution or some type of refund should be giving. They told us we needed to leave with NO REFUND AT ALL.
Lena the manager that was on duty was only giving the title manager because she shows no qualified quality to be a manager other than the fact she woke up and come to work.
Made statements like “be lucky your kids didn’t get hurt” & “only ghetto people won’t refund or complain about their rooms”
The general manager Joe was spaced the whole time we were explaining our problems and lied and said he wasn’t on site until the police showed that I called so that we could get our stuff
But jokes on them I GOT MY REFUND. God doesn’t like ugly and his not to find of cute. Treating people like that is why your only be a crack hotel manager.
Cold in the rooms had the thermostat set at 90° staff said to shut it off for 15 minutes and try it again. Still cold switch rooms same thing. No blankets only a sheet. No sleep won’t be back.
No — their manager Lila is nasty and unprofessional. I was forced to call the corporate offices of Clarion and have them book new rooms at a different hotel.
This is the WORST hotel I have ever dealt with! We boo our room on booking. Com. Arrived after a long drive ready for a shower and some sleep. Only to arrive to the drug dealers out front hollering at both my daughter and myself. Went up to the room to find on the ninth story, that the window was on the verge of falling out. The room stunk like b/o dirty sheets. No towels AT ALL, blood stains on ceiling and wall. No air and mold on vents… Decided NOT to stay, told that would b refunded, instead they charged the card, only refunded part of it. As we were loading back m car, t o guys stood RIGHT OUT FRONT SHOOTING UP! Horrible horrible place.
I booked and paid for a smoking room through hotels. Com
everything was fine until I was told no rooms are smoking rooms. This hotel need to have an honor system if they are going to use 3rd party to hold, make and pay for reservations.
also it took 30 minutes to get into my room. None of the keys worked.
I'm really disappointed in the false advertisement and description of the rooms.
the condition of the room is that of a smoking one for sure. Burn holes in blankets and sheets.
Horrible experience. Rude staff. Our room has ZERO towels and no staff member knows were they are.
Fruit water and coffee available at all times.
the space in the bathroom is awesome compared to some other places I've stayed in.
have microwave fridge
sheets looked n smelled clean.
My dads items went missing from his room not a call back from management. Pathetic hotel.
Advertise to have shuttle service from Union station to the property and from the property to local attractions they don't have a shuttle service the property is under heavy construction.
Clean enough but not very nice not very professional building seems very old.
Most unprofessional, unorganized, and uncleanliness hotel I have EVER stayed at. Too many bad things to even list. Negative stars. Absolutely NO customer service. Shuttle bus is a joke unless you enjoy waiting 2 hours in the cold while calling 6 times to confirm. Rooms are filthy, found dirty glasses and Victoria secret empty boxes under the bed. Mouthwash was opened and used. The heating/cooling system doesn't work. Non smoking? HA! All I smelt was cigarette smoke. Price match? No way. Do not stay here.
It is affordable, but the staff customer care is lacklustre!
What a dump… they do not tell you that it’s a 420 hotel. Awful staff, drugs rampant throughout, people walking into wrong rooms. The staff tells you one room and gives you keys for another. STAY AWAT… unless you like that sort of thing!
This was one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed. The rooms were dirty, the girls working the front desk were condescending and rude. And no one would take responsibility for the stuff going wrong besides the supervisor of housekeeping who was amazing. I stepped on an open safety pin there was old food in the fridge there were stains on the bed and hair everywhere in the bathroom. We switched rooms and the other room offered to us someone else was checking into. The hotel wreaked of cigarettes and weed everywhere you go. Not just on the so called 8th and 9th floors. They have no manager to help take care of anything. They have an “active” manager who seems to be no where to be found. I would not ever recommend this disgusting and rude people filled hotel.
This is a 420 hotel. Only men with drug issues were visible. Visible dealing out in front of the hotel. Across the parking was another issue with with a bunch of scared men doing something shady. As we walked into the hotel comment were made about my young daughter and we did not feel safe there.
The front desk was rude.
Customers were complaining about people walking into their rooms. We could not get into our room. We think someone was In there with the latch on.
I went to the ladies room and there was a man In there.
We asked to be Moved to another hotel and they would not accommodate us. They said the 4th floor was safe. What does that mean? We had to leave for our safety.
We were given two keys. With two different room numbers.
1) You have to give a credit card upfront for Incidentals and then when their system doesn’t work to charge for items from the store you have to pay cash because they can’t charge the card you have them and I was told the store was a different thing…?
2) need to be better organized and look professional. Too many kiddies running the show.
3) Need a manager there and it needs to be an adult.
4) Wi-Fi sucks.
5) Restaurant Buffet was great. They do need larger drink glasses.
6) I’ve machine worked on my floor but vending machine did not. Door opened and empty.
7) Beds and pillows were comfortable.
8) So as long as you were hungry at breakfast and slept all the time and didn’t need the internet, TV, or deal with the front desk, everything was great.
Love it. Our stay was pleasant and the staff was great. Yazmin at the front desk is awesome! she always has a smile and is oh so friendly. She was on top of everything. Yazmin and the friendly staff will be the reason we recommend to our family and friends.
I had reserved 3 rooms with a 10 day confirmation only to find out that the 3 rooms were rented out to other guests because we were not there at 3 pm to check in! Teresa the manager horrific unprofessional to say the least! Don’t waste your time and money on this circus!
Amazing place to spend my vacation! The hotel staff were very respectful and accommodating! The room was spotless and the view amazing! If you're taking a trip to Denver, this is where you want to be!
Rating this hotel is tough. So many good things and a few not so good. Remodel looks very good, good room for the price, fabulous breakfast included, the best we’ve been to. Free shuttle that picked us up at union station and was available daily for other trips. However, some things like, our key never worked the next day, the first day the room was not cleaned, no coffee packets, cream, etc. No clean towels either. The air conditioner didn’t work either any day, there was something not done each day that made things inconvenient. Someone, maybe the maid, smoked in the room daily. It was definitely cigarettes. Greg from the front desk tried to make things right each day. Kudos to him.
We have stayed there often on for two years when it was the quality Inn with their customer service now the customer service has gone down to zero we’ve had too many problems there and will never stay there again and we do not recommend people to stay there because of their poor poor customer service.
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful comfortable stay. We also accidentally left behind something very valuable in our room and flew home the next day. The GM made sure to track down the item and mail it back to us. I am so appreciative of the GM and am so thankful for our exceptional service! I would stay here again.
Rooms were clean and what I needed for my stay. But they authorized another night on my card, when I only stayed one night. The funds were held on my account and I had no money to get home until my bank releases the money in 3 — 5 business days. And Monday is a holiday. Thanks Clarion!
We had a great time. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room was very clean. The hot breakfast buffet was great. The staff was very friendly. The heated swimming pool was fantastic. The a. C. Wasn't ad cold as we like but we just opened the window and it was much nicer and a lot cooler. We will most definitely come back here when back in Colorado.
Very pleased with our stay. Great value, decent sized room, comfy bed, well-maintained facility with a great pool and city view. The windows in the room opened enough to let in the fresh Denver air in the mornings. The breakfast at the on-site restaurant was adequate, but we reeeeally loved our meal at the convenient restaurant right next door. The on-site car rental company was an interesting feature, as it took up most of the hotel parking lot. The hotel provides shuttle service to nearby downtown Denver, but not to the airport. The pantry in the lobby was reasonably priced and well-stocked to accommodate mile-high city tourists.
Just an okay hotel in the middle of Denver. Very convenient stop right off of I-70 if you are driving through. Good restaurant (Village Inn) right next door. The room was clean but the whole hotel smelled of smoke, including our floor that was supposed to be a non-smoking floor. The room itself did not have a smoke smell, but it was not a crisp clean smell either. The complimentary breakfast wasn't bad with scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, etc. They only had one waffle iron for the entire hotel and no yogurt. Be sure to get to breakfast well before the 9:30 cutoff time because at that time they come out and pull everything away quickly.
If it wasn’t for the supervisor Danielle I would never come back.
Whoever owns this hotel needs to take a look at all the rooms.
Furthermore,
All NON smoking rooms smells like stale cigarettes.
… Remote missing
Coffee maker gone
No tissue
Spots on floor and chair
Smells like old stale cigarettes
Would never stay here again!
Light bulb burnt out
Shitty pillows
The air SUCKS it only goes to 60!
Doesn’t even blow out good…
The door is super hard to open
The fan down stairs in the snak area is FILLED with dust
Holes in wall
Black dust around air vent and on top of ceiling
Door was punched
Rusted hindges
Bathroom mirror
Toilet seat is not on correctly.
How this has anything above a 2 star rating is shocking to me. The staff could care less about their guests, the check-in experience was long and without any greeting or smiles from the employee. Our "non-smoking" room absolutely wreaked of cigarettes. We had to sleep with the window open just to try to breathe clean air. When we went to take a shower we discovered the curtain was missing and railing in the tub was falling apart. Lastly we went down for breakfast this AM and all the food was gone, despite is arriving before the 9:30 closing time. I wasn't expecting much from this place, but for the cost we should have at least been able to get the breakfast included in the cost, a shower curtain, and some fresh air to breathe.
Check-in staff didn't bother to drop the $118 authorization charge on our 3-night stay due to a mix-up with my credit card… until I prompted them. 1 out of 3 elevators working in a 9-story hotel, resulting in a very long wait, especially if one has a lot of luggage. And finally, our room didn't cool very well with the A/C. Pros: Very comfortable bed and pillows, good hot breakfast buffet, and convenient to highways. I understand that they're in transition to become a Clarion hotel "this summer", per the manager's comments on other reviews. Overall… I wouldn't say to run far away from this place, but I wouldn't highly recommend it, either. If I HAD to stay here again with little luggage, I would.
The breakfast is varied with scrambled eggs, ham, biscuits & gravy, fruit, pancakes and a few other things. It seems like they see a lot of travelers and being able to eat dinner at the inside restaursnt the night we arrived was a major convenience. One issue is with the pool table: of the 8 or so cue sticks, 2 are the best, 3 are slightly bent and the remaining sticks are more crooked than Nixon. The final thing is that the remote for our room was found on the floor sort of ticked between the bed and the night stand. It was kind of annoying hunting for the remote but it worked out and I'm sure it wouldn't have been an issue to ask at the front desk. Staff was nice and seemed to know what they were doing.
Today is our last day of a 4 day stay here at this 420 approved hotel! Upon arrival we got greeted with a smile and was able to check in an hour early buy the great front clerk Alyssa. When I booked the hotel I wrote in the comment area about celebrating my birthday here in Denver and the hotel responded back to me in email saying happy birthday and drinks on us! Betty the guest relations officer greeted everyone at breakfast one morning along with the owner they both asked if we needed anything and even engaged in conversation with the guests as we ate. The only complaints we have is there’s no ventilation in the rooms, the top floors need some TLC for sure and the elevators have many problems that need fixed immediately for the safety of the guests. I would refer my family and friends anytime!
I love this hotel. Housekeeping was attentive if you wanted them to be a left you alone if you wanted to be left alone. Their breakfast was actually really really good and its complementary with your room. Fresh waffles and there was at least three choices of a hot breakfast in addition to cold choices. Massage center in the hotel is a very professional and relaxing place to unwind and they even have transportation for hotel guests to specific loot locations including downtown where you can then Lee use free transit in Denver and then take the free Transit back to the hotel. It's also very easy to get an Uber it is in an industrial area. And even the rooms with the mountain views you're going to see Highway and things like that. If you're having an adult get away it's a perfect place to go and not be bothered if you like to smoke.
We stayed for three days on the 8th floor. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, everything about our stay. The front desk ladies were the best and very accommodating. The rooms were very clean and orderly. The beds are very comfy and loaded with fluffy pillows. We became fast friends with the shuttle drivers. They were very nice and personable. They took the time to explain the history of the city as we traveled to our destination. The continental breakfast is SUPERB! The elevators are the slowest I have ever encountered but they turned into a running joke by day 2. We had time to meet a lot of very nice people in and around the elevators. We will be back!
Rooms/hotel is dated and in need of major remodeling! So don't expect something fancy. But found my room comfortable, & quiet. Shower was awesome-great pressure, like a massage, plenty of hot water. Guest laundry on my floor is super nice, ice machine too. Restaurant in hotel. Don't know what the quality is. Breakfast was usual hotel fare, but it's free. Like the milk in a refrigerator. Large outdoor pool, closed until end of month. Location is kinda scary at night & difficult to get to, on and off ramp is a ways off. Other neighborhood restaurants pretty scarce. Sooo-2stars from me.
This hotel us awesome, it's modern, very quiet, I think it has something to do with the unusual layout. I'll be back. The breakfast was great too. The bed us a fluffy cloud of ahhhhhh… I laid down to nap for an hour at 7pm, woke up with my alarm at 6am! Get here as fast as you can! And Danielle at the front desk is very very helpful and sweeter than pie! Plus… there's a ton of truck/bus parking here.
The staff was very friendly and willing to accommodate any reasonable needs. The property and interior of the hotel was very clean and modern looking. I had a 2 queen bed room, and was happy to see it had a pretty large refrigerator and microwave in the room. I prefer soft beds over firm, and these were extremely soft. Enjoyed my stay and would stay again!
Beds are comfortable, I'd bring my own blanket next time… People are definitely accommodating and friendly. 420 friendly. Biggest plus is; they shuttle you to and from downtown! Breakfast is good. Would stay again.
Rooms are clean and well taken care of. TV is nice and easy to operate and has HDMI if you watch movies or play video games. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. Linens are fresh and rooms are quiet. This hotel is a hidden gem located just north of downtown and it is very inexpensive. Lawrence was the best! He helped me get my room changed and found me the best deal possible. Highly recommended!
The hotel was nice! I enjoyed my visit there with my friends! Wifi is slow, bathrooms did not have an air vent in the bathroom, beds are stiff to sleep on! It totally did not ruin the experience in Colorado! For the price I got it for I cannot really complain!
If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… Oh my gosh I can not express how amazing Chris is he is The nicest person! We got to small of a room and he gave us another room complementary! I will be coming back here from now on how blessed he made us feel! He is an amazing person! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Nice staff, friendly atmosphere, amazing customer service, the shuttle was the best thing ever. It made our stay so convenient and comfortable. We only stayed one night but we came and went as if we were there a whole week. We will return to Denver and we will stay here again.
The staff is so friendly and genuine. I get a great rate and my favorite floor has been available to me every time I go. The breakfast buffet if unforgettable. You will enjoy your stay there! I ALWAYS DO!
I highly recommend this hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The people are friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable but I had a problem with the television. They did try to fix it but it was beyond their ability to repair. I did appreciate the effort and would stay here again.
It is an older property and is being renovated. Entire staff was courteous and responded quickly to any request we had. Our room was clean, and as another review stated our room had nice bedding but poor heat control. We had to open a window throughout our 5 day stay. The shuttle is great, the drivers are very friendly and are there to help. Breakfast buffet was pretty good, nothing special. I would stay here again.
Nice enough rooms and decent breakfast. The staff are super friendly, so if you have problems with your room or other guests, just tell them. It is a very pet friendly motel, so it helps if you are not scared of dogs. They have a shuttle downtown and the bar / restaurant are nice enough. Only real problems are their crappy laundymat and their showers. Trick for the shower is to use it in the mornings before all their hot water is used up. It runs out at night much more than during the day.
Loved this place, have never complained. However. A year ago I stayed in a cold room where the heat didn't work, and was told they were working in getting it fixed. I for a space heater. It all worked out. Fast forward to today. I stayed fo3 the 30th and new years eve… same heating issue, on hold for a space heater that never made it to my room after requesting one and they were blowing off the request for another room. I froze for 2 nights with no refund, heat, and honestly no desire to ever come back.
Stayed months ago! Seen the review below that they got a waffle maker! Thank goodness cos the pancakes sucked. Breakfast was terrible! Maids stole my lottery ticket! Other than that I liked the room. Great beds.
Checked in about Midnight on Thanksgiving day/eve, maybe a little before. We had messed up booking online and only reserved for one but had no problem with 2 people staying. The only elevators are right in front of front desk so it feels safe like anyone who gets upstairs should have been seen. The top floor (9) is smoker-friendly. Front desk made sure we knew a dispensary was close and the Westword was full of ads. There is also a massage place within the hotel that offers cannabis massages! Our room was great except red stains on the sheer white window curtains, and I found a plug in seemingly unsafe tucked between the bed and wall so snug the wires were warm. My mom used it to charge her phone nonetheless. Cable TV & a comfy bed were all I really wanted & I got it! The full breakfast served in the Palm Bar and Grill was delicious, I recommend trying the waffle maker! Overall a really good experience for the 9 hours till we were on our way. Will stay again/recommend to friends for sure.
If you are looking for a clean hotel that is convenient to Downtown Denver at an affordable price, Quality Inn Denver is the place for you! Jamie, Steve Mora and the entire staff at quality inn were great! From ensuring that our out of town wedding guests received the best customer service and getting them to my downtown wedding to helping my wife find a quality cleaners to steam her dress, they were true consummate professionals! I highly recommend this hotel and will be back. They have a really good continental breakfast included with your stay, and I can't rave enough about the excellent customer service the my provided.
We were on a suite on the second floor. It was right next to the elevator, and we had the nicest hotel room I've ever been in. It was tidy, and we had water bottles and some complimentary mints. Breakfast was pretty great; much better than any other buffet breakfasts I've ever had. Shower was kinda weird though… It started of cold, then got hot. Anyways, would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Denver.
Dated bathroom fixtures, not enough hot water to go around… The usual hotel quirks. The free breakfast was pretty good though.
When we arrived to our room, it was occupied with their maintenance, replacing the toilet. We had to change rooms and move our luggage up to another room. The other room they gave us was a mess. The ceiling had a shotty patch job from water damage that ran down to the wall. When I went to sit down on the toilet seat I felt a pinch on my leg. The seat was so beat up and old that it was coming apart. I called the front desk and he said, no problem we will get that fixed for you. Maintenance came up to look at the problem. He said he would be right back. He never came back. We did have a great view of Downtown Denver. Overall, the service and the room we received wasn't worth the money.
Probably the friendliest hotel staff I have ever met. I was late to check in but they were still able to hold my room for me. Very comfortable beds and blankets. Overall I absolutely enjoyed my stay and would definitely return!
I checked in this evening and was less than impressed with the hotel. It's not really "downtown" as advertised on some sites and is definitely in a run down section of town. However, Edgar, the manager at the front desk, deserves special praise, as he was very accommodating and moved my room when there was a smoke smell. I appreciate his work!
The shuttle that's provided by the hotel helped out majorly for getting around the city. This hotel is a great location. Edgar was an amazingly helpful manager that made himself available throughout my stay. I wish I had all of those pillows for my own bed! It was so comfortable!
Very pleased with our experience there. Stayed for 1 week while nosing around Denver and the surrounding areas. Good Continental breakfast, free coffee throughout the day (which was wonderful! ), housekeeping was accommodating as we didn't need service everyday but asked for things like soap and towels which were brought right to us. Pool is not heated as advertised, but wasn't a huge issue. Overall it was a good stay and we would stay there if in Denver again.
My wife and I disliked it. It all started after check-in. I had my car in drive to exit the main entrance and park and he played a game of chicken with me and nearly struck my rental. We got a nonsmoker room and the entire 8th floor smelled like pot. I woke up at midnight to teen kids screaming in the hallway "Chris, Chris, where are you? " They were rolling one of their friends in a suitcase screaming down the halls. I had to get out and politely ask them to go into a room and be quiet. When leaving in the morning the elevator with sticky and smelled like urine. The staff is not very friendly either, and cleans with very strong smelling chemicals. Oh, speaking of chemicals they failed to advise us the remodeling some of the rooms next to us and there was a strong odor of paint thinner coming from the rooms into mine. The room itself was clean and cozy, but man that's about all this hotel has going for it.
This is a nice, quiet place to stay. The room was clean and I asked for more coffee and the woman at the desk cheerfully gave me extra. The shuttle to downtown was an added bonus. The morning breakfast bar has a variety to choose from and it is monitored closely to make sure it stays clean from spills and the food doesn't run out. The employees certainly give you a family feel between each other and to the travelers. I'll be staying here again.
Just stayed here over the weekend. I was a bit apprehensive after reading the reviews, and I was hinestly not expecting much. I am happy to say that this place wasnt bad at all. As a matter of fact, I really enjoyed my time there, and will return to stay without a doubt. I stayed on the 9th floor in a smoking room. It was clean enough for me, and the bed was comfortable. While the elevators were a bit slow, it didnt change or diminish my experience. One thing that is really cool is the munchie store by the check in desk. What a life saver for someone who came to enjoy colorados legal marijuana. Met quite a few really cool people, and found a new place to stay when im out there. Dont change a thing but the sheets.
Me and my son had a wonderful time. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The front desk clerk Erin did a nice job accommodating us. I would definitely go back.
Rooms where of good size and this and the free hot breakfast made it 4 stars in this review. Hotel shows age a bit but everything was in good working order and functional. Smoking is allowed in the hotel which one could notice, we however got a non smoking room and it was OK. Pool was nice as well — having an outdoor pool was the reason I booked here during a huge summer heat wave. No Airport shuttle off course (too far) didn't use the shuttle for downtown but ordering seemed complicated and they weren't very courteous about it. The next property / parking lot up the hill is a decent pie, pancake and breakfast, lunch (dinner) place.
Paid for a room with 2 double beds, was rudely told by the manager that there is fine print saying you are not always guaranteed the room you reserved. This was an issue as we had three adults in the room. When I showed him my printed confirmation of of two double beds (that showed no fine print) I was told to take the room he had available or leave without refund. We were also told that the king bed was "large enough to fit three if we squeezed. " I was astounded at the managers lack of care, his rudeness, and felt as though I was being swindled. The room itself was run down, smelled of cigarette smoke and marijuana. The bathroom had hairs and dust all over. The only pleasant moments were the shuttle driver. And the breakfast, which was just above average for a hotel.
Stayed here for a night while visiting the city w my wife. Basically exactly what you expect from a Quality Inn Denver Central. Actually reasonably priced. Good service clean. One star off for absurd parking prices.
The whole hotel smells like smoke because the smoking and non smoking rooms are adjacent to each other. It's a dump, I would say it is probably more like a 1.5 star, Priceline claims 3 star. I would not trust Priceline for booking because you are out of luck in this place. Very sketchy with people milling about outside the front doors and you have to walk through their cloud of smoke.
The very worst I have ever experienced! Extremely dirty, smelt like an ashtray throughout the entire building, bedding was yellow instead of white, dust and debris all over, elevators function very poorly bouncing and shaking. No hot water in your shower, fire escape alarms do not work and safety doors to the roofs tops propped open. Very thin windows and walls in the rooms you can hear everything. Air conditioning and heater work poorly and smell like the filters have not been changed, not to mention the black marks on the ceiling where the air vent is placed indicates the dirty filter. Call girls in and out of the building, illegal drug use in plain site. Did not feel safe at any point and only stayed the one night not even 24 hours.
I gotta be honest, I never take time to write reviews simply because I'm so easy going and don't need much. But I tell you what I do need. A toilet that flushes without needing to hold the lever down. I need hot water that you don't have to wait 5 minutes before it gets even luke warm. I drove from Minnesota to stay here and see what Denver is like and this is my first impression. Would not stay here again, you shouldn't either, this hotel is ridiculous. You may as well spend the extra few dollars to get something nicer downtown. I will say however Edgar was friendly he was nice to work with. But there's basic needs someone staying in a hotel should have and a working toilet is one of them.

RespondHave stayed here several times. Every time I have stayed, the people are very friendly, the rooms are fine, and we really enjoyed the fact that this Quality Inn has a shuttle. They have always been more than happy to accommodate us. We will stay again, any time we are in Denver. I find a motel that I like and I stick with it.
I stayed here because in town for a conference downtown. I stayed in the non smoking floor. Staff very friendly room was clean but I will not stay here again due to the stench of marijuana everywhere. Well when I asked about it I learned that 420 (marijuana) friendly hotel. To sum it if if you like smelling and smoking pot this is the hotel for you!
I have stayed here several times when passing through Denver, all been one night stays. The free shuttle service is great! Breakfast in the morning is good. Free Wi-Fi in the rooms. Just wish this place had a hot tub. The Village Inn (closes early) next door is about all there is around this location. Have eaten in the dining room once and the food was good. My last stay here the room would not cool off. Thankfully the window could be opened and that solved that problem.
A friend and I stayed in room 702 at the Quality Inn 200 W. 48th Ave. Denver April 1 – 3, 2016. I realize that the hotel allows smoking on certain floors so it wasn’t surprising that our non-smoking floor reeked of pot smoke. We didn’t get much sleep Friday night. The heater fan rattled loudly every time it went on. Even though we had the temperature set at 65 it still blew hot air. The person at the desk told me that since it was cold two days ago the system was set to heat only. Never mind that on that day it was in the high 50’s and the next 2 days were predicted to be in the high 60’s, which it was. The room was very uncomfortable in what was about 75 degrees. There was NO HOT WATER in the shower either day. About 90 minutes after my call to the desk Saturday morning reporting these issues, a maintenance man came. He couldn’t hear the fan rattling and said that the water was fine. (It was not. ) However, he did point out that we could turn off the thermostat to solve the heat and noise issues. We didn’t open the window because our room looked out on a very busy and noisy highway that could be heard with the window closed. While waiting for the 10 am shuttle Saturday, which is a nice amenity, I told the lady at the desk that the maintenance man solved nothing. To her credit she offered to put us in a different room. Since we weren’t coming back until 9 or 10 that night we declined. Even so, I don’t think it’s so much to ask to have at least lukewarm water.
Really not recommended. *TV broken, was told there would be someone up to take a look, but ended up going to bed after over an hour (no news that night). *Walls very thin, neighbors were having a party. But staff was on it and sent someone up within 6 hours (4:30 am they finally showed up to shut party down). *Something leaking on the 7th floor, had fans set up when we first arrived, but took them down soon after, the smell though… ugh! *Air conditioning? Yeah, sure, had the thermostat all the way down to 65, no apparent change to temp in room. *They have little notes in the bathroom boasting about the shower heads, unfortunately when you turn on the water it doesn't matter what it is coming out of. Every 30 seconds the water goes from brrr cold to Holy Cr*p HOT! Without even touching the knob. *Most of the staff we saw would probably break their faces if they smiled, seemed like they were really annoyed that you would interrupt them by wanting to check-in, or other inconvenience. *Also if you must stay there, bring your own pillows. The ones provided would be too small to fit in a crib, let alone a king sized bed.
I am sending out a group to stay at the hotel. We haven't even stayed there yet. I called through their 800 number and made the reservations. I SPECIFICALLY asked if they had a shuttle and if my employees could use it to get to training, which is 1.7 miles from Sports Authority Field, where they run a regular shuttle. I was put on hold for them to contact the hotel and was told it would not be an issue. I paid for the reservation. Just to be sure and to set it up for them, I called the hotel. They said NO. I told them about their 800# and what transpired. They didn't care at all. Do not stay there. They lied. I will be sending people out regularly. It was better for them to lose my monthly business than help me out this one time. Now I have to rent them a car.
The location of the hotel is good, it is close to the highway and a short drive to downtown. Also, it has fulfilled all of my needs: delicious breakfast, good coffee, fun game room and friendly staff. 10/10 would stay here again.
The staff was very helpful and friendly but the rooms were pretty gross, not cleaned very well, the walls are very thin so you hear everything. Also you have 5 minutes of almost hot water before it goes lukewarm and there was a disgusting vent right next to the shower head that looked like it hadnt been cleaned since the place opened. The elevators also take Forever even at 6am.
Here currently loved it here Miss Betty made it an amazing time. All needs were met. Clean and tidy. Would stay here agin we have 3 kids 12, 12, 9 and the game room helped alot plus pool table in the resturant bar area. Smokin, and yes of all kinds happens here. Its colorado and your booking a smoking hotel you add it up. Well with that said it is still a great place.

RespondJason is an Excellent Employee! He went above and beyond to help us and accommodate our late night needs! Should be considered a valued employee!
Great location and good price. Staff were friendly and helpful, and used the shuttle with no issues. Hotel is certainly dated in some ways, but had a great stay.
It's fine for me. I just need a need and a shower. The wife would probably give it 3 at best. She found one comforter was kinda gross. They changed it for us.
NEGATIVES**** -called ahead and was told minimum age to rent was 18. Arrive and I was almost turned away for not being 21. Then the gentleman at the front proceeded to act as if he were doing me a favor. I am 20 years of age. Will be 21 in 8 months. -get into the room and it was beyond hot. The thermostat did nothing to help. Never stayed somewhere where I didn't have my own personal climate control -the room looked as if it hadn't been renovated in its existence. There was exposed caulking mixed with grime in the shower. No simple amenities such as a fridge or microwave. -took the shuttle service (which is a joke) to the Broncos game. They dropped us off about a 1/2 mile from the stadium on the corner of a residential road. The pick up was the back breaker. Stated they had 3 shuttles running however only saw 2 different drivers in the 2 hours we were waiting on the street side. Worse there were about 35 others still waiting when I was picked up. And the shuttle we were on was done for the night. So in theory the others were waiting on 1 shuttle to go back and the other mystery shuttle which noone saw. -FINALLY the worst part of this experience, I paid for a KING size bed. Received a queen. Due to the gentleman at the front acting like renting to me was a burden I was worried I'd be told to leave if I complained about my bed. *side note. Upon checkout when asked "how was your stay" I responded not very good. I was met with "well that's nice. Here is your receipt.
Good service, the bathrooms more or less, the shuttle service was late with a delay of 3 minutes, not very good breakfast. The rest was good.

RespondThe breakfast buffet is really good — much better than expected. They did not have a king bed available in a standard room, so they gave us a free suite upgrade which was awesome. The staff was nice. It was about a $12 Uber to get to downtown. For the price I would definitely stay here again.
There is no indoor pool. Please stop advertising indoor pool as there is an outdoor pool only and is open only in the Summer. The motel staff makes this a really nice place to stay. The Dinner menu could use an upgrade. Why is there no Mexican food? Where are those Colorado steaks? Friendly and efficient staff go above and beyond to make for a pleasant stay.
The rooms were very clean and neat. The staff was nowhere to bother you when walking through the lobby at night to smoke a cigarette. The location was out in the middle of somewhere with a resturaunts on bottom floor. If you wanted to get away where you stay the place was the bees knees.
I was here for 10 days on business in October of 2015. This is a excellent hotel. All the staff where very friendly, professional and made sure my concerns and needs where met in a very timely manner. I stay in a lot of different hotels through out the country. Normally I don't write reviews for hotels, in fact this is my first. However, in the business I'm in great service goes unrecognized a lot. I couldn't pass up posting a review for the excellent service I received. Eric.
Very let down, John showed me a great new renovated room. What I got was a room from 89' with outlets that didn't work, lamp bulbs out, and a 8 inch long hair on what was supposed to be clean towels. Room 214 and sadly I'm booked for two nights. Never again.
Worst managers. Lost product that they signed for and wanted to make it ok by giving me a letter that states they are not responsible for it.
This was a terrible experience. We stayed at this hotel with a Women's volleyball team for a local tournament. Initially I was dissatisfied with the quality of the room:moldy shower, small square throw pillows instead of standard sized pillows, outdated workout equipment, computer with unusable keyboard. I asked for a wake-up call that was never received. But the worst — — the housekeepers stole money out of the wallets of the students athletes! shameful! do not stay at this hotel, ever!
We went to our room and immediately smelled a very very strong urine smell. Called the desk and were told someone would be right up. Maintenance guy came up and agreed, told us that while we were at the Rockies game some one would look into it/do something. Came back 6 hrs later NOTHING was done. Vents for air. Conditioning had visible dirt and other things coming out of them. Hotel was just over all dirty but the pee smell pushed us over the edge! Left at 10:30 at night to drive back to Colorado Springs even though we were exhausted. No one seemed to really care either. We did get our money back. Would NOT recommend this hotel!
I would suggest this hotel if you don't mind a cold shower, bloodstained comforter, mildew in the shower and stained chairs! The only perk to staying here was the shuttle! Don't waste your money… stay someplace else!
From check-in the staff was fast and friendly. Because of the other reviews I had read here, I did ask to see the room first before I committed — they were more than happy to let me do that. I couldn't find anything wrong. Nice, clean and spacious, no bedbugs, no smoke smells (I specified a non-smoking room), working AC. I ended up here because there were several events going on over the weekend and most of the other hotels were booked solid. They even gave me the room for $30 less than I expected based on the quotes here. I didn't experience anything the issues that other reviewers suggested — no weird noises, no interruptions from staff, etc. The Wi-Fi was actually better than my usual experience with hotels in general and the free morning breakfast buffet had lots to choose from. This isn't a 'luxury' hotel by any means and some of the fixtures are a little dated but it was clean and functional, and had all of the basic things you need for a peaceful and relatively inexpensive stay in Denver.
It is dirty the hotel restaurant is a joke we sat at a table for 5 minutes before a server got off the bar stool brought us menus said somebody else would take care of us after 5 more minutes of waiting we got up and we were told if we just wait someone will show up we also tried out the game room the only thing that works is the change machine so they can rip you off a little more the room smells awful overall one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in.
Close to downtown. Easy access to interstate and highways. Nice big rooms. But it wasn't even really hot yet upper 70s on March 16-19 and the rooms were so hot! Maintainance sent up a fan that didn't rotate. Before they sent up the fan they told me to open the window. I thought that was weird because ive never been able to open a window in a room before. I go to open the window and it opens about 1 inch. Good thing we were out of the room all day because there is no way we would have been able to withstand the heat in the room. Air conditioning seemed to work just fine in the common areas so it seemed odd that it wouldn't work in the rooms. We had the worst food we have ever had at the restaurant for dinner the first night. Pasta was tasteless, mozzarella sticks were cold, mac and cheese looked like it had been sittng out for a while. The only edible thing to eat was the kids fries. Even the beer was flat. But the worst part was the service. After I told the lady that the food was terrible she seemed frustrated and didn't offer to do anything about it. She even stood over the shoulder of my husband as he signed the bill and scoffed at the 5$ tip that I didn't feel was deserved. Breakfast service was great on the otherhand. Friendly service, different Options than other choice hotels with a burrito bar. Overall a nice hotel. If only the air conditioning worked and the restaurant never served another awful meal again.
The Internet very slow and this hotel not close to the downtown also it's in very bad location the stuff very nice people and the rooms very good.
I stayed there a few nights a couple weeks ago. When I checked out the front desk clerk asked how my stay went. I informed her that there was a chirping sound in the hall way that sounded like a fire alarm that needed to re-set. I told her that it disturbed my sleep. She said, "oh yeah, I know which one you're talking about". I told her she should get her maintenance person to look into it, but I didn't get the sense she intended to follow up on it. Hopefully it's fixed because I'm heading back next week.
Great hotel. Helpful staff, comfy room, doesn't smell like everyone else claims. Don't know what some of the other reviewers are talking about. Sounds to me like They need to be reviewed! I'd stay here again. Some of these guests need to calm the hell down. It's a hotel. Not your Palace.
Wasn't a bad stay all together, but there were some issues that occured. The smell of marijuana and smoke filled the floors and mostly on the 9th floor, when there was a sign in the lobby saying pot free hotel. And while in the gameroom, only 2 out of all the games worked or took your money, and was fortunate to sit in the urine puddle from a child from who knows how long. The vent in the restroom never worked.
No complaints. This place is cool. Has free breakfast in the morning and its not just cereal. Has a free shuttle to down town. Must admit I was a little late for the last shuttle and called the hotel. Front desk girl was super nice and accommodating (6/28/14) Shuttle driver Chris showed up a few minutes later and was totally nice and respectful, and didn't even question about me being late. (love the denver night life). Definitely be staying here again. Thanks for the great customer service.
Ok so here's the pros so far room is nice, clean and comfortable haven't experienced the breakfast yet. The con and major reason for this review. Checked in notified them I have a pet unloaded our luggage settled in. 2300 at night had a security guard trying to come in our room to see if it's vacant, called the front desk not knowing who this guy is trying to come in (it's freaking 2300) then was told I wasn't in the computer. Asked for my last name, then asked if I have a pet (what the neck this room is already prepaid and reserved and I told them I have a dog and paid for it) then was told I was on the wrong floor and all pet rooms were on another floor and I had to move rooms (it's 2300 at night and my wife and me have a ton of luggage) I told them no you put me here you fix it they complied. No sorry, no nothing just a whatever issue. What the freak is wrong with these people. No courtesy, no manners, no nothing (welcome to Denver) if you come here and your not stupid and anal you will hate it.
Ansich good Hotel by the Interstate in front of the window a bit noisy in the night. Wi-Fi is, unfortunately, only at noon to use when you have little guests in the Hotel.

Upon arrival, I noticed my bed sheets and everything was dirty as dirty can be. The floor was also very disgusting as was the bathroom. I also noticed older men paying what seemed to be prostitutes and giving them drugs, all in front of my 12 year old daughter. It looked to me as if they were sex traffickers of some sort. I demanded a refund and went to a much cleaner hotel with a better environment. I'm still waiting for my refund.
