Reviews of Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver, an IHG Hotel 4*
Beautiful hotel with unique rooms and an incredible staff! Can’t wait to return!
Such a terrific location and a lovely facility! The rooms are impeccably appointed and the wine social was a hit!
From having take my OWN luggage cart to the room, until the valet broke the key off in the car, I just don't know what to think!
We chose to spend our 10th anniversary at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco in Denver and they did not disappoint! They went above and beyond in every aspect. Even up to reservations for our anniversary dinner, complimentary wine and snacks for our anniversary, we will return!
Amazing staff, clean, friendly, and the best part is they are amazing to dogs! Our dogs were treated so well!
My very first trip of 2020! Masks and all… it was an unforgettable trip, thanks to some very special people at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco — Downtown Denver!
This hotel is spotless, the rooms are clean and beautifully decorated. All staff members & guests are wearing masks — as required.
Your kindness and recommendations for local attractions were spot on each and every time! A special mention of Don, Paulina, Chris & Chris — we can’t thank you enough for your True Hospitality!
We look forward to future stays when we are back in the area!
Great Pet Friendly Hotel.
Very nice motel but there is no parking. You have to pay for parking.
Just checked in but loving it so far. Complimentary beverage at check in. I recommend the red ale. My room is very nice and even comes with a fully stocked mini bar! Plus a complimentary wine and appetizer each night! Way to go Kimpton!
This was my third stay at this location, which has a very friendly staff, great lobby and restaurant! I've stayed at the Ritz Carlton and Four Season's and this has been my 'go to hotel'. Service, service, service!
I love the coziness and interior design of the room, luxurious curtains and the beds were comfortable. Their wine social hour is fun, and the hotel location is the best of all the hotels in downtown, closest to all the stores and restaurants.
Greatest place ever super clean beautiful
really nices employees nices customer services Ms justa and Celestino and all the team!

PET FRIENDS! Lovely space. Very quiet. Accommodating and super friendly staff. Great location a block from 16St shuttle. Have stayed there 5 times now. Just love it. And so did Coalthedog!
Awesome room, very helpful staff made us feel right at home. Had champagne and sweets waiting on us in our room since we are celebrating our wedding anniversary. Thanks guys at Kimpton.
Booked a Denver family vacation and stayed here. I booked two suites that were next to one another and it was perfect. The hotel is gorgeous and extremely comfortable. The restaurant is Italian and delicious. Hotel has bikes you can borrow. Conveniently located to the 16th Street Mall. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.
Convenient, clean, beds to die for. Nice evening reception and great restaurant.
The staff is all so incredibly kind and they went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is clean and gorgeous. We are so happy we got to stay here for our weekend in Denver! We highly recommend this hotel!
The staff was so kind and thoughtful! Lovely place!
I do not recommend this place to anyone. When my husband called to set up our reservation at this place the gentleman that took his call the first time told him our room was going to be $190 all together and that's one room with two beds. After that he has my husband if he was member and my husband told him no. So my husband joined there membership cause the gentleman on the phone told him that since we were Rockie fans our room will have different kinds of Rockie stuff inside of it. Well we had to change the room to two rooms and one bed in each the same gentleman that did our first set up set this one up for us as well an told my husband that the rooms will be $285 all together. When we got to the hotel yesterday none of it was true the two bedrooms was going to be almost $600 and so we asked about the one bedroom two beds they charged us $335 for that room cause they charged us a city fee plus a tourist fee on top of our room and when we got to our room there was no Rockie stuff in there. In our room there was alot of alcohol in the fridge and there was snacks we asked down stairs if they came with the room and no none of the stuff did we would of have to pay for it. My husband asked the front desk guy why none he was told or sent to his email was true and all the guy had to say was I'm not sure sir and that was it.
Great hotel with great service. Will suggest to others. Paul the bellman, just the best!
This hotel is so chic and so thoughtful. It’s awesome to text the hotel — they respond immediately even if you are just asking where the ice machines are! I like it ❤️
They text you 24/7 and it's awesome. Tell them you love them. Its hilarious.
I've stayed at several hotels in downtown Denver, and I can confidently say that this is not only the best stay we've had in Denver, but probably the best hotel that my wife and I have ever stayed in (B & B's excluded). We were here for our honeymoon in the spa room with a jacuzzi, and we were offered champagne and chocolates when we were checked in. Our room was enormous, and I still remember how comfortable the bed was. Maybe it was the time of year we stayed, but the price was quite reasonable for the quality of the room. I might add that the Italian restaurant at the Monaco was fantastic, some of the best Italian food we've ever had. Another perk of staying here, and the location is perfect right in the middle of downtown. Can't recommend the Monaco highly enough between the service and room quality.
I'd never stayed at a Kimpton Hotel before, but after this experience I will absolutely look for one during my next trip. I was impressed with everything, from the room to the service. The location was within walking distance to a ton of places, including Union Station, Coors Field, and countless restaurants. Will definitely look to stay here again!
Stayed three nights here. The rooms are well put together and decorated and immediately make you feel good about the price. Bed was excellent. Staff were amazing and offered fantastic advice on Denver. The wine and cocktail hour is very nice and came with an optional massage. Serious. Would definitely stay here again.
A really wonderful stay. Kimpton does many little things right that others would be well to emulate. For example, allowing guests to text the front desk with requests instead of requiring someone to call or make a trip downstairs is an obvious but really great innovation (at least I have not seen it before). Would have no problem recommending the hotel to others. Service was outstanding.
What started out a little rough improved during my stay. Flight canceled so booked last minute from airport not on hotel website. When I arrived, room was not ready, hotel reception not very friendly, told I could not get late check out and also because I used booking site could not count stay under my IHG rewards. This experience improved by heading to Panzano restaurant where fantastic waitress sat down with me, listened to my story, got me free Prosecco and appetizer when my food was late then relayed to night staff my need for late check out which was granted. Night staff was great and super helpful. Great recs next day by doormen for running trail and things near by. If you love Kimptons this one is slightly less than some of the others in terms of lobby and rooms but overall a great experience and location.
Stayed as an overnight guest while conducting business in Denver. Convenient downtown location close to restaurants, shopping, and convention center/theater district. As with all Kimptons, the customer service was warm and welcoming. My room faced the center of the hotel which of course limited my view but on the positive, also limited outside noise. The room was well appointed, bathroom modern, bed was comfortable. I would recommend the Monaco for anyone looking for a hotel in the downtown Denver area.
The Monaco is so beautiful and well designed. It's location may be the best in the entire Denver area. The service was amazing on all levels. They are experiencing loud construction from their neighbors to one side right now (summer '18) and we were booked on that side. It didn't bother us as we don't spend much time in our room on trips, but it would bother others. Just make sure to request a room not on that side. The room was beautiful, bathroom sparkling, and a very comfy bed to relax in after all your adventures.
Beautiful hotel with an amazing location in the heart of downtown Denver. Beautifully appointed rooms and a welcoming staff. Great beds, beautiful interior of the room. Clean, lobby and common areas. Reasonable prices, easy in and easy out. Hybrid vehicles park in the garage for 50% off. Will definitely return and recommend!
Great hotel with an awesome location. Very friendly staff. Check in/out was very fast. Room was clean and beautiful. If recommend this place for anyone to stay.
We had a wonderful time at the Monaco! The staff was fun and very nice. The decor was new and very fun — a blend of classic and very modern! The bed was comfy, the shower was tall, and the free booze during happy hour was generous! The location was perfect for walking to shops and restaurants. Will definitely be back!
Really enjoyed our stay here! Beautiful room and to top it off we were there around Christmas and the city was really in the holiday spirit. Which we found to be quite inspiring. The staff are excellent! So kind and helpful! We will definitely be stay at the Monaco again. Such a great 3 nights!
Great conference facilities with great snacks and food. Good assortment of choices for breakfast and lunch. The bed room is spacious, comfortable, and clean. There is a desk with good working space and lighting. They provided a hot tea set up for me instead of the in-room coffee. There is always ice water in the lobby. Yesterday's was cucumber lime. Today's fruit water was watermelon. I am enjoying my stay here!
This place has become my go-to when traveling to Denver for business. The front desk is consistently friendly and ready to help. The rooms have been recently updated. Panzano's is always great for breakfast too.
Hotel room is beautifully decorated, modern, and very clean! Restaurant attached to bar has delicious food. Right in downtown Denver which is so convenient to everything. A must stay!
I will never book with Kimpton hotels again! In April, I booked a room and ended up having to cancel it. I cancelled the reservation twice (as they didn't cancel it the first time), once by phone and once online, a month in advance. After my reservation date passed, they charged me for the room, despite sending me a cancellation code via email. When I called the corporate customer care number to dispute the charge, I was told that the cancellation code didn't show up in their system and suggested that I call the front desk at the hotel in Denver. At present I am still waiting for my refund but overall, it was very disappointing customer service on a corporate level. It is ridiculous that it should be this hard to cancel a reservation. I should add that the accounting staff in Denver were pleasant and helpful, however.
Overall nice property. Stayed during construction being done. Saturday morning construction work noises started at 6;30 am and 7am on Saturday. Was quite frustrating in addition to the manager social hour not providing bites for all who attended. Small amount provided and not replenished. Morning coffee out of creamer, cups and lids. 3 staff behind desk chatting and when I asked for assistance they called on radio and other employee came out and replenished about 10 minutes later. Items sans cream we're all at station. Other employees could have easily assisted but their conversation was simply too important. Enjoy Kimtop properties usually. Denver location should take notes from Seattle site.
This place use to be my favorite hotel in denver. Then they remodeled it and made it more modern and horribly decorated. Everything I loved about this hotel is now gone. The great comfortable rooms are now replaced with low quality beds and pillows. The colors of the rooms are a weird blue and white. All the charm that made this hotel stick out is gone. On top of that they don't give you a pet fish anymore. I use to recommend this hotel to everyone now I would never do that and I will never be back. If you are visiting denver there are plenty of great hotels. This is not one of them. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
We had a fabulous one-night stay. Beautiful suite, very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable accommodations. Interesting art throughout the hotel.
It is the little things that brought this rating down. 1. They were rehabbing a room on our floor by the elevator and there was dust and debris in the hallway. 2. The "suite" is really one slightly larger room. There is a partial wall between the bed area and living room area but no door. 3. There is a lot of unused space in the room for a very small bathroom. 4. The shower stall door did not close all the way 5. The magnifying mirror in the bathroom is broken and won't hold position. 6. The pocket door to the bathroom… sticks. And is clearly scraping to the point where the paint is coming off. 7. The valet is $46. Good items: Room was clean, bed was comfortable.
Very nice hotel with awesome staff close to the 16th st mall. Unfortunately the walls are pretty thin. Also, our mini fridge wasn't working. Still a very nice stay!
We loved everything about this hotel. The linens were quality (which is so important) the staff was responsive and accommodating and the wine reception in the evening was a great perk. The location was really great as well.
Stayed 2 nights, we reserved one queen but when we checked in late Friday night all they had was a room with 2 queens he said if we wanted to change rooms the next morning we could. No big deal just wanted to get in room. The room was nice enough except the thermostat was broken and heater was on high all night long. Called front desk in morning let them know about the issue and asked to move to another room. They said to repack our bags and they would move us to new room while we're out for the day. The problem was when we returned the clerk at front desk and manager had no idea what we we're talking about. The manager did offer to send up an engineer and gave us a $50 credit to the restaurant nextdoor. Thankfully when we returned they had managed to fix heat and give us the night free. Overall I would give them another chance since they made things right.
My brothers and I wanted to do something nice for our parents for Christmas and decided to give them tickets to the King & I and dinner and a hotel stay. I contacted Hotel Monaco and spoke with Elise. I explained to Elise that I live in Tennessee and what our plan was. Elise helped to put all of the details together and made their stay remarkable! I can't say enough good things about Elise and Hotel Monaco. My parents had a wonderful time and loved their experience at the Hotel and the dinner they had at Panzano!
A group of 12 of us travel to Denver for New yrs weekend 2017 and stayed at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco. I must say the hotel was nice and the staff was awesome. There was some issues but the hotel staff addressed them immediately. The hotel rooms were clean the hotel its self is very nice. Jessica staff was awesome and I cant remember the man name at night that was at the front desk but he was awesome as well. I would recommend this hotel and will be back! The location was everything right in the middle of where ever we wanted to go no car needed. This trip was awesome!
If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels you can check them out on HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… Absolutely fantastic hotel. All the little touches that make the difference. Wonderful staff. Room was great with good air quality and the best shower ever. And the restaurant is one of the best in Denver. We ended up both getting sick and had to hole up for a day and we are so glad we were here and not just a same old same old hotel. 5 star experience at 4 star prices. 2 thumbs up.
Valet parking, very courteous staff, immaculate rooms with great views and presents waiting for us under our trees. Five Star Italian restaurant adjacent to the hotel with adjoining door so you don't have to go outside in the cold. I've gotta say, I didn't know this place existed before our stay but I'll remember it forever.
This place deserves 5 stars just for the staff very pleasant, helpful and always with a big smile!
The bedding is also very good and I did not have to complain about the cleanliness of the premises.
Plus there is a glass of wine/beers offered every day at 5:00pm with the possibility of a 5min massage. It's very friendly and enjoyable.
I recommend this property!
The staff were the best part of the hotel and restaurant. Jasmine and Katie in particular and their adorable dog Jengo who greets the travellers at the door. The room was beautiful and so was the rest of the hotel. I will definitely return on my next visit!
The rooms were clean and updated. They had plenty of room and soft, comfy beds. The staff were friendly and helpful — they even helped us pick a good location for dinner.
Best friend had his wedding there. Everything was great for it. Fun and formal — didn't think those words could describe the same event. Nice rooms. Nice people. And best of all, dogs are welcome there! Big or small ones! The hotel Mastiff is a huge, beautiful dog!
Great rooms… LOVE the bathroom/shower. So spacious and clean. The decor is spunky, fresh, and just the right balance of energizing and relaxing. Fun retro vibe to it as well. Kimpton does a great job of thinking of everything amenities-wise (and the products provided smell great! ). Front desk personnel here were responsive and efficient. Valet and bell were wonderful. Only downside was very late check-in and leaving next day they begrudgingly allowed "late" check-out of 12:45pm. Made getting work done on a Friday arrival impossible and enjoying hotel amenities more difficult.
I have always loved the Kimpton Hotels. They feel intimate and cozy. Hotel Monaco Denver was spectacular! The room was perfect and the italian restaraunt provided the best service and food you can imagine. Highly Recommend.
The bed is comfortable which is my top priority. The bathroom was nice and the shower was large. We had a suite and so it had a desk and sitting area. There was plenty of room and we had windows on two sides which was nice the next sunny morning.
If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… We want to thank the front desk staff for their ever helpful and friendly service. Loved the fresh fruit, nuts, and chocolate truffles (wow) waiting for us in our room after a long and tedious journey. The complementary wine tickets were much appreciated too. We enjoyed the unusual decor and the water bowl welcoming dogs in the entryway of the hotel. Definitely not a cookie-cutter hotel.
The room is modern and comfortable. The staff is super helpful. The hot water went out in our room and it was fixed within a few hours, even late at night. The cocktail hour with complimentary shoulder massage was a nice touch. I had never heard of Kimpton hotels before I stayed here and I will definitely look to stay at another property in the future.

I stayed here in June for a work trip and had a very pleasant stay. The room was stylish, comfy and spacious. The most special aspect of this hotel is its people. When I checked out I left my almost new Bose noise cancellation headphone in the room (still worth a few hundred $). I phoned the hotel housekeeping team the day after and was told that the housekeeper had returned it. Because I had already left Denver, I needed to have the headphones shipped to my next destination in Canada. Long story short, the logistics company mixed things up and the headphones were caught between the US and Canada, causing unexpected delay — — I ended up not being able to get them while I was in Canada. While I was getting stressed about the situation, the house keeping manager Lauren Cortellessa took over the responsibility of the tracking the shipping, communicating with the logistic company, and even paying for the headphones to be reshipped to my home and final destination in Australia. The whole process ended up being much longer than expected, due to the problems related to the logistics companies, which has created unnecessary stress and workload for everyone involved. Through it all, Lauren handled the situation with friendliness, professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility. I finally received my headphones today with Fedex overnight and it even included a hand-written note from Lauren. How sweet! For my future trips to Denver, I think I know exactly where I will stay.
The Monaco Denver staff is the best! Last time we stayed here they brought ice to our daughter's room for an ice bath after a half marathon. This stay they had treats waiting in our room for our 14 1/2 year old pug when we arrived!
Amazing hotel with the finest attention to detail! They even brought pet fish for my kids to name and have as their very own as pets for the night! There was a stuffed animal for them to slee with, the staff made a point o know ours and our kids' names and everything was amazing!
Very friendly staff. I love most everything about it. We will definitely come back and stay again at this place.
The room was very cozy. I love the interior design of the room, luxurious curtains and beds were comfortable. The only thing missing in the room was a sitting area and having a small couch. Their wine social hours was good and their fruit infused water was great too at the lobby area. Their location was the best of all the hotels in downtown, closest to all the stores and restaurants.
We stayed at Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons in the past and I can say without a doubt I like the staff the best at Kimpton Hotel Monaco.
This place is the best restaurant in Denver. Excellent food, even better service, and the ambiance is so romantic and fun. Love this place.
I love Kimpton hotels all the time but especially when traveling with the dogs. Very pet friendly and no extra fee or deposit! Dog park is 3 blocks away with friendly locals. Staff was helpful and so friendly. Great location near plenty of downtown activities, restaurants, cafes, and bars. Room was spotless and decor was beautiful! Bed was comfortable and room was a good size. Would definitely recommend.
Nice downtown location, nice and friendly staff. Room was nice but very expensive vallet. Room had a view of a parking deck but that didn't bother us too much. Solid hotel.
Wonderful stay. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and when we requested an extra towel we were met with very quick service. Wifi was easy to set up and connection was great. Rooms were luxurious, location fantastic for a Rockies game or a quick bite.
The hotel is a 15 minute walk from Union Station or $5 taxi ride, so it's pretty easy to get to. The area around it does get weird at night (we saw human feces walking a block from the hotel). The hotel is decent for a Kimpton, but don't expect the modern upgrades the Palomar Hotels have. This is the third Kimpton hotel I've stayed at but I'm not sure I would book again.
The wine cellar was nice and cozy. Perfect for a small group. The provided snacks, breakfast, and lunch exceeded expectations. It wasn't obvious where the parking lot is and the hassle of rush hour traffic and one way streets made me instead choose to park at in another garage rather than circle the block.
As with every Kimpton experience whether in Washington, DC, NYC, or the brightly shining jewel of the West, Denver, CO… my Kimpton experience is the same. Spectacular! This is hands down my favorite boutique chain… but as no two rooms, cities, or concierge are the same there is always the best service level delivery by staff. From front door greetings, tomeals and after event drinks an snaks… no stone is left unturned in an effort to provide a superior guest experience to all. Please, if lucky enough, drop into any Kimpton, if not the Monaco in downtown Denver. By the way, the DC Monaco at the Spy Museum was my first many years ago and Denver's was able to exceed my expectations with its stellar decorum, high ceilings, and picturesque urban vistas.
Staff was excellent! But for a 5 star hotel it is not. Food was great. Looks were great. But no hot water? Never fixed it. Never bright things we asked for to room. Stayed in a suite. Payed good money. Wouldnt refund one nights stay money since we left a day early. Told them to keep it and get their water problems fixed. Disappointing. Stay somewhere else…
The reception service I received over the phone while booking my sisters trip their was the best! Thank you Lauren for answering all of my questions and being so kind! Great customer service goes along way these days and I really appreciate it! I look forward to my next visit to Denver so I can enjoy this hotel as much as my sister is!
I, and 2 friends, all with their own rooms stayed here and we all vowed we'd never return. The beds felt cheap and very uncomfortable; the bedding was a jerry-rigged, low quality thin duvet for which they used 2 king sheets to wrap around it, to make it look like a cover. My AC didn't work. Even had it checked. There was no hot water for one of us one morning. No coffee machine. The pillows are copies and oddly sized and stuffed. They felt like cat beds from Walgreens. I got 50 bucks off. But considering I spent over 1, 000, I was not satisfied. This USED to be one of the most unique, high quality, eco-friendly places around. Charming. Now, you'd be better off at a Hilton Garden Inn. I promise the beds are better as are the bedding and climate control. Shame on them. It feels like a circle of managers decided to cut every possible corner.
This was my second stay at Hotel Monaco and they truly don't disappoint. I got a great deal on a rate as a Hotwire secret deal. They hospitality at this hotel is second to none. They offer a happy hour for residents, provide yoga gear in the room for your use, and will even bring a goldfish companion to your room upon request. We gave our little guy the nickname Oscar! If you're looking for a fun and quirky place to stay right in the heart of everything the Hotel Monaco is your place.
We had a wonderful staycation here. We didn't bring our pups this time, but the hotel and staff were very friendly and attentive to the animal guests from what I saw. They offered great little options like late check out and drinks available at check in. We'll definitely be coming back again for a romantic getaway.
Very nice hotel. Staff is ultra friendly, and upscale accommodations down to the in room yoga mat and umbrella. Very nice gym too. Slept like a rock!
Service at the hotel Monaco Denver has been amazing. The room is great and the downtown location is within walking distance of a lot of the things to do in lodo area.
Love this hotel the decor is very modern. One complaint we asked for a gold fish for our room and two days later still no fish. Love using the bikes, the wine hour is amazing. Staff is friendly and Pavano is delicious.
Best hotel in Denver, hands down. Pet friendly and great accommodations. Since staying in the Monaco and becoming a Kimton member, my wife and I only stay in Kimpton hotels.
Fantastic people, Big and spacious room, good room service.
Loved being here! The people are fantastic and the rooms are beautiful — could not have asked for more.
As this was our wedding night, we were overjoyed when my wife and I walked into the room and discovered rose pedals on the floor/bed, a rose, chocolate covered strawberries, and champagne! This was truly an incredible experience and we are so happy we chose Hotel Monaco! We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in downtown denver. The room was extremely comfortable, clean, and well kept. We would certainly stay here again if we were looking to stay in Downtown Denver.
My wife and I stayed here about a month ago. Had a excellent experience here. We stayed in a suite and couldnt have been happier. We definitely will look at kipton resorts for out future trips.
