A fabulous venue for afternoon tea, special events, and lodging! Beautiful period furniture, wallpaper, tile and decor throughout the Inn. Delicious food and personable and efficient staff. We had a superb experience! Highly recommend.

We went for Father’s Day brunch. Was a lovely experience out in the garden area. We all enjoyed our food and beverages. The owners/chef were super friendly and engaging. Would highly recommend and will be dining there again.

The perfect venue for my afternoon tea bridal shower in the garden! The food was delicious, the staff was accommodating, and the space is lovely. They offered to move our party inside due to the heat, but the patio had big shade trees and they set up umbrellas.

We had our wedding here and it was absolutely perfect. Everyone was so wonderful to work with, especially with all of the Covid restrictions, the food was delicious, the drinks were wonderful! I’m looking forward to spending our anniversaries there!

This is an historic Victorian
3 storey 1890 Denver home made fabulous B&B, with everything from the Morris Arts and Crafts ceiling designs to the perfect spacious gardens. The rooms are charming and comfortable, with a unique theme for each. Our host Tom made sure we were taken good care of and made to feel right at home. And the breakfasts! You will want to try a new gourmet dish every morning prepared by Chef Shelia. There is easy access to downtown, with several excellent restaurants nearby. And there might just be a surprise here and there. I cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was. I hope we can return again in the near future.

Had fun learning about this beautiful old home in (what I grew up knowing as North Denver). We enjoyed our tea and the delicious food. Thank you for the hospitality.

Beautiful rooms and great location.

My husband and I stayed overnight and thoroughly enjoyed our gourmet, 4-course dinner that was paired with wine. Our room was beautifully furnished, and we enjoyed using the giant jacuzzi tub. Joel and Elaine were both friendly, wonderful hosts. I would highly recommend staying here!

It’s a fantastic location and has so much to offer, even if you’re local! Their creative events and stunning interior and service makes it a night to remember. Can’t wait to go back!

Everyone here was so nice and the rooms are gorgeous! The house is very cool and I definitely recommend talking to the owners, they're very knowledgeable about the area and local things to do. We didn't have the breakfast but there were a lot of interesting choices. I would definitely recommend staying here and will most likely come back in the future!

What a beautiful place to stay and enjoy the history of the Lumber Baron. Amazing pure energy there, as well as the owners being absolutely caring. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite. It was beyond beautiful and huge. Breakfast was so good. I'd never had French Toast Banana Bread. That alone is worth the stay. We cannot wait to visit again and spend more time there. When we were leaving, there was a bridal party getting ready for a Wedding to be held there.

We stayed at the Lumber Baron Inn last week for five days and had an excellent time! The building is beautiful and Joel and Elaine and their staff are friendly and professional hosts. The food was delicious and the bed was so comfortable. The inn’s grounds and garden are lovely. We will definitely stay here again whenever we return to Colorado. I would recommend the Lumber Baron to anyone looking for a great B&B in Denver. The only bad part was having to leave!

Incredible rooms and building with more history than an encyclopedia. The staff was amazing, knowledgeable, funny, and welcoming. The food is equally exceptional. 10/10 would recommend.

The place is exquisite and full of fascinating anecdotes, but by far the best part is the staff. Joel seemed to know just what I wanted for a special celebration. Everyone was friendly, gracious and eager to accommodate. Highly recommend!

This place is magnificent. Beyond jaw dropping rooms and woodwork. Excellent event venue in the gardens or the top floor ballroom. The food is first class and service is spot on. The owners are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend a stay here and what ever the chef wants to cook you.

The Lumber Baron Inn is unprofessional and completely, utterly rude. I came here for a wedding, and while the wedding itself was great, the venue and the staff who worked here crossed so so many lines. My cousin, who's just a couple months shy of being 21, had a sip of wine (something that's legal to do with family where we're from), and the staff could have handled that in a variety of reasonable ways. However, they chose to stoop to the level of name calling and trash talking, aggressively yelling at her and the rest of our family for the entire night. Forty minutes after this all began, with just a regular Pepsi in her hand, she was berated, humiliated, and falsely accused — — reduced to tears for the second time despite doing nothing wrong. The planner of the venue called my aunt a jackass, and multiple staff members got in our faces, hours later even threatening to call the police. We overheard the mother of the groom referred to as "the psycho blonde lady, " and the abundant name calling was beyond disrespectful, let alone doing so on someone's wedding night. The ordeal lasted over the course of the entire evening when this should have been a 5-minute thing. If you want your guests to be treated like complete trash, then sure, have your wedding here. Otherwise, stay away!

What an absolutely stunning old Victorian home. The suites are *gorgeous* and full of character, and the owners Elaine and Joel are so incredibly welcoming. You can absolutely bet we'll be coming again.

My fiance and I went here to check it out for a wedding venue. The home is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. We got to see all the rooms which were very charming. I'd definitely stay as an overnight guest. Still going to check out some other wedding venues, but it's definitely a top contender!

We had a great experience. Wonderful room. Breakfast was fantastic with multiple seatings if needed. We would stay again.

This B&B was absolutely wonderful. I couldn’t of asked for a better stay, and it’s all thanks to the host Joel! He was always there to great us. He gave us a tour of the house, as well as showed us before and after pics of the Lumber Baron Inn. The breakfast was superb! I definitely suggest the avocado and poached egg on the English muffin as well as the banana bread French toast! I see on a lot of reviews that the shower as well as the bathroom is small (in the Colorado room), but it’s all to keep the charm of the house. By the way the shower may be small but the pressure sure does make up for it. If you love historical B&Bs, the Lumber Baron Inn is a must!

The Caretakers truly Take Care of you. If you like stepping back in time with some modern conveniences than this is the place for you. It is absolutely breathtaking with all the old world charm & beauty. Yes the floors are well traveled & the stairs creek & doors squeak. If that sounds like your cup of tea than this is the place for you! They will even serve you up a pot of tea in a China tea pot. Breakfast is wonderful and served home cooked just for you❤️

Beautiful 1800 mansion & nice room to stay. Lots of historic items in tbere & its haunted. Nice breakfast is serve in the morning. OmarGosh TV was stay overnight in the mansion.

Honestly the best bed and breakfast I have ever stayed in. Fabulous chef and amazing history in the beautifully restored 1800’s mansion. Couldn’t have been a better experience highly recommended!

A most magical place… lovingly restored turn of the century mansion … accommodations super special and the food is amazing! I would recommend honeymooners, planning a marriage or special event and like ourselves semi-retired vacationers to experience not only Joel the Innkeepers stellar service but his lovely wife Elaine for a card reading.

My boyfriend and I attended Lumber Baron Inn’s Titanic First-Class Dinner last weekend and were blown away. Not only was I stoked for this event as a history lover but a foodie as well and Lumber Baron’s owners and staff went above and beyond on both fronts. It was obvious that the time spent curating this event was great and that each aspect was polished passionately. The owners, Joel and Elaine, greeted us like friends and made sure to spend thoughtful time with each party in the room. The food was astounding — the Chef made an appearance towards the beginning of the evening and I wish I would’ve given him my many manyyyyy thanks. Overall, an incredibly special and unique experience that was the most fun I’ve had in ages. Already ready to book our spot for the next voyage sans icy ending.

We loved every minute of our stay. We took advantage of Tea, and Dinner. Both meals were excellent. Joel and Elaine were such gracious host. We are local and were using our time there as a "marriage retreat ". Time alone from our amazing 4 children. The power of the romantic atmosphere was beautiful.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Lumber Baron Inn for veterans weekend and had the most phenomenal experience possible. The dinner we had was high class and delicious, the room was romantic and beautiful, and the breakfast was also amazing! Especially the English muffins and jam! But most importantly the owner Joel was the most courteous man we could have asked for. He served us our meals with class and humor and after dinner he started the fire pit and got me a blanket so I could sit outside with my boyfriend I️ was going to wait in the room but he went out of his way to make me comfortable! Best experience possible and we will visit plenty more times!

Exceptionally friendly staff, absolutely delicious breakfasts, and very cozy rooms. The staff was very accommodating and I never felt anything but welcome and wanted as a guest. The hotel was stunning and well-maintained. I'll be coming here again.

This bed and breakfast was so cute, we even got the "haunted room" and we didn't even know. The only thing that happened was my boyfriend saw a shadow at the end of our bed and then he took a double look and there was nothing anymore. The customer service was awesome! We were even able to smoke a blunt and take some dabs in the cute back yard. We got delicious free breakfast and Wi-Fi. We will be returning.

My mom has stayed here twice in the last two years on her visits out to Denver, this place is fantastic. Joel, the owner, is extremely accommodating and has kept up with the place very nicely. They now offer a three course dinner here and the menu is amazing. Even if you aren't staying here, you've got to stop in and have a meal. I had the Scottish Seafood Stew for my entree, it was one of the best seafood meals I've ever had (and that's coming from a seafood LOVER! ). The rest of my group had various items from the menu and all were just as tasty. The Lumber Baron Inn is a must see and must stay! My next visit will have to be for brunch!

This is a fabulous and charming inn. The staff is exceptional. The included free breakfast was amazing. This was such a special experience.

They now offer brunch on weekends and 3-course wine dinners on Thu Fri and Sat nights at 6pm and 8pm. Reservations required. We did the wine dinner once and it was truly spot-on perfect. Going back again soon. Be sure and tour the mansion while there. Incredible historic hidden gem.

Had my nephew's outdoor wedding ceremony and reception there last evening. Was a wonderful experience in gorgeous surroundings with a great staff and catered Mexican dinner. The house is beautifully maintained. Somewhat difficult for the elderly or once you have had a few as the stairs are steep and narrow and the pavers and sidewalks are very uneven.

Wish I could give a higher rating than 5! Just an all around fantastic experience. Stayed in the honeymoon suite, which was one of the nicest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. Antique furniture everywhere, attention to detail with amenities, and lots of original wood from when the mansion was first built. The staff and management were just fabulous, accommodating and extremely friendly. Joel was extremely professional and friendly. Gave us a great tour of the mansion full of historical facts. Should also be noted that he is a GREAT CHEF! I 100% recommend this Inn.

I was able to visit the Lumber Baron for the first time during the showcase of their forthcoming breakfast offerings. There are really not enough compliments that I am able to give. First, the service was spectacular. Maria was attentive and friendly and I didn't have to ask for one thing the entire breakfast. Additionally, my breakfast friend is a vegan. Now, the menu may not appear to offer a wide array of vegan options — my friend was served an incredibly delicious breakfast, prepared by the chef, specifically for her. All she had to do was ask Maria if the chef could prepare a vegan dish and out came an incredible spread of fresh vegetables, perfectly cooked and seasoned. As for my meal: I had the Scottish Toast, which appeared to be a house feature. Not much more can be said, other than DELICIOUS. The food was attractively presented, perfectly prepared, not too sweet, but right in the sweet spot. It was perfect. During our meal, we were greeted by the owners, Joel and Elaine. Joel took the time to pull up a chair, at our welcome, and started discussing some details of the Lumber Baron. With a little gentle prodding, we were able to hear an engaging story about one of the spirits who resides within the LB — the story being picked up quite deftly by Elaine, mid-sentence, as she came over to introduce herself.

Went to the Great Gatsby New Year's Eve party. Live band was great, the food was outatanding, cool venue overall and I'd go to another event here.

Company Christmas party was a great time! Murder mystery was fun and the actor's never broke character. Food and drink was great as well.

The Victorian style home is amazing. Provides so much character. All the the interior and exterior building designs are beautiful. Attended the 'Sleightly Impossible' magic show and it was a delightful show for all ages. Some of the best legitimate magic I've seen provided by 2 humorous and talented magicians.

This is the second time I have stayed at this very cozy bed and breakfast. The interior will amaze you. We have stayed in the Garden room twice. The jacuzzi bathtub is very romantic.

Magic show with Gene R. Gordon was fun (his portion of the show was great! ). The building itself is a gem with great wallpaper and woodwork. The night we went they had BBQ for sale in the garden and it smelled GREAT (unfortunately, we didn't know they had it and had just had dinner elsewhere). Coupons can often be found on Groupon. This is a fun date night place.

The place is beautiful and so well cared for by the very attentive owners Joel and Elaine. The back patio is amazing! Great place to have your out of town guests stay. The ballroom upstairs along with the huge back patio would be a fun place to throw an event or party.

Fantastic! I Loved every minute! We went to the show Sleightly Impossible which was a magic show with a great mix of comedy and audience participation. The show was awesome, far better than I was expecting. The magic was amazing and the comedy hilarious. They really get the audience to participate which adds to the fun. I got brought up on stage and watched like a hawk but was still astounded when they performed the magic trick flawlessly only a few feet away from my watchful eyes. Wonderfully entertaining show that I highly suggest to people of all ages. Taking place in a great historical mansion covered in ornate intricate artwork, even the building itself is a sight to see. *note* on first approach it's not obvious that you are at the right place since there are no signs, and we were a little hesitant thinking it might be someone's private house, but upon walking up we were warmly greeted and welcomed in. I will definitely be back and am bringing all my friends and family!

I did one of their murder mystery casino nights for my birthday. It was a lot of fun and good food.

Really! This was the worst experience for a Casino Night I have ever imagined! If you need to be entertained by a bunch of loud mouth idiots in poorly dressed costumes running around setting up a poorly assembled casino/gambling area when arriving this is your place! Yes VIP is a Joke!, $5.00 for a half a glass of soda!

I don't normally write reviews for anything but I felt that we had such a great experience that it is needed! My family and I stayed the night and went to the Casino Night Heist and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! Walt, the owner of the Lumber Baron made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. He gave us a tour of the Inn and told us about the history behind the beautiful bed and breakfast. We stayed in the Col Franklin room and it was comfortable for the two of us. The cast of the Casino Night Heist were hilarious and attentive. Our favorite of the night was Stephanie Bruce who played the hilarious Willy Whet, an aspiring game show host. She was hilarious the entire time and made sure to learn all of the names of the folks sitting at her blackjack table. I would suggest this mystery dinner theater to absolutely everyone! We left in the morning with great satisfaction and memories. It was worth every penny!

My husband and I just did the Haunted House Hunt! Mystery Dinner last night and I'm still on a fun high! I can't believe how much I enjoyed this and even my quiet and introvert husband got to participate on stage and I got to seem him laugh out loud more than I've seen in a long while. The cast is full of amazing, talented, and friendly folk who make you feel truly welcomed and at ease. The food was very good with tasty desserts that follow. I can't wait to go back for their next show! I'm hooked!
