The hotel is under major construction, so the jets in the room tub did not work. Also. No self parking, and you cannot use the luggage racks (but bell service and valet are free). I didn’t mind tipping the valet, because they did a wonderful job and had positive attitudes; and the room was discounted. There was no breakfast included, and the pool is very small. There is a tennis court on the roof, but the area is not walkable to desired locations. I had good sleep here though!

Valet parking only. Only Bell boy can use luggage cart. Other than the two above mentioned annoyances, the yoga on the roof was fun and relaxing, the coffee is certified organic and Gabriel the activities guy knows Tahoe like the back of his hand. He was a great resource for hikes and day activities. The hotel has move night, table tennis, billiards, an arcade and a giant connect four. I give a four rating because the hotel is under construction and the proposed new look is more luxurious.

Construction going on in June. Room was dated and very funky in layout but comfortable for 3 in a one bedroom. Bed was too firm for my taste. Staff was polite. Mandatory valet parking (can you say "Lots of money spent on tips"? ). Up a steep hill that would be tricky in the winter, right next to Heavenly Valley ski resort.

Nice and will be even better when they are done with their renovation. It's much needed and I'm sure will be a 5 star once it's all done. Just don't fall for the diamond resorts sales pitch if you come here on a promotion.

At a good location, easy access to skiing and down town area. The room was alright, bathroom was extremely small and the room was covered in mirrors. Shower was a little awkward, especially if you have a lot of family staying in the room with you. The shower was basically a garden tub with a shower head and saloon doors to shut the shower. You can literally see into the shower from closed doors. Luckily it was just me and my husband staying here. Overall wasn't bad, most likely will be better once all the renovations are done. Location also has valet parking.

Very nice location for winter sports, walking distance to ski lift. Currently being renovated, so construction it's very evident. Rooms are somewhat dated but I was in an unrenovated one, so I can't say what the new look will be. One small outdoor jacuzzi was nice and warm. No shuttle or public transport from the resort, but only a few miles drive to main area of South lake Tahoe.

I give the resort 5 stars because of the staff. The resort is nice, rooms were cool and well kept, awesome location, but the staff is what made my experience great. Valet was always polite and the bell desk service is unbelievable. All the gentlemen working the bell desk were great, but John made our vacation 10 times better. Very informative, he recommended the best spots for food, snowboarding, and everything to do near South Lake. You the man John!

Location couldn’t be better! Right next to Heavenly Mountain Resort and the free shuttle bus stop that takes you to Heavenly Village. Concierge was super helpful in giving us recommendations and doing some research for us. Rooms are a bit outdated but clean and functional. Would definitely be back, especially once they finish the renovations.

It was under construction and lacking amenities, so it might be worth giving it another chance in the future. Right across from Heavenly. The upside was a really nice staff.

Good-sized room with huge bathtub, and helpful concierge/bell service. But with no kitchenette and no on-site restaurant, dining options are limited, so bring your own microwaveable food, or plan to drive for food.

I would probably give 4 stars but it seemed to be under remodel. Otherwise super great location. 100 yards walk to lift. Room had quirky layout but worked out just fine. Could see the lift from our room.

If I was a skier, this resort would be the perfect place. The room is an ok size and the layout is kind of weird having the jacuzzi in the middle of the room. It is also a bit dated. Need to meet more accommodations like paper towel, paper plates, napkins (simple stuff). However, staff are friend. The valet parking is free which is a big plus! I’d recommend this place to people who ski because it is walking distance to the slopes! Otherwise it was an ok spot.

Lookout for their sale rate, a bargain. If you're hitting Heavenly, double score for you; especially if you're using Heavenly childcare or ski school. Rooms are well maintain, layout is awkward with a giant tub that you can't use because of CA drought. Change is coming, just not modernized now. Not shabby and nothing is falling apart. Front desk, Housekeeping, Valet and bell services are staffed with the most courteous professionals. We've been back 3-4x since 2017-2018 started. Will be back here again.

I've been here too many times to count. Friendliest staff. Steps to the most reliable lift at Heavenly. Free valet parking. Free ski valet. Huge soak tubs in rooms after skiing. Simple 1 bedroom units give separation and privacy but keep a 'together' feel. Microwave and fridge in unit.

Under renovation Misfortune my Thanksgiving had to be there employees were great that's why they did not get a one-star your people are awesome and they save the day for you guys very friendly people and we'll go back after renovation is complete preferred to stay at the other location.

I recommend that to you Guy's nice weather and nice place pools nice rooms.

Interesting lay out of rooms! I really liked that the hot tub was in the middle of the room! We watched a move a soaked in the tub! It was wonderful!

The reservation people were shady and wouldn't let us cancel a single room after we ordered a two bedroom suite. The women's restroom in the lobby smelled horribly of exhaust and they gave zero craps when I told them about it. The location of the resort is excellent. The decor is very dated. The concierge tried to sell us a time share which was weird. He suggested the Harrah's buffet and it was garbage. The rooms. Ooh the rooms. Someone who really enjoyed the 70s did a number on these rooms and they were only made more entertaining by the use of public bathroom style soap dispensers in the bathroom and the shower/hot tub situation that is in the middle of the room. Additionally, that hot tub is only for soaking. You can't use the built in jets. But hey at least you have retractable wooden panels to open up the bathtub when your swingers club gets wild. Also there are mirrors everywhere. And a straight razor disposal spot for recycling your cocaine cutting razors. The beds are tiny and the pull out bed is only a bed in the most technical of senses. I wouldn't recommend staying here without a full remodel.

Good resort. Wide room with big bath tub. All rooms are non-smoking and if you smell your neighbor is smoking call front desk report! One thing I want to say is that their spa/pool is open till 10pm it's so loud with folks in there so it's hard for kids to sleep early!

BED BUGS! We stayed over the labor day weekend. My husband woke up with severe bed bug bites. He sleeps on his left side, and when he woke up his whole left hand was swollen and up and down his whole left side of the body just really ugly bites. This hotel is valet parking only. I underhand, like to have full access to my car always. I do not recommend this hotel.

Outdated furnishings unless you like 1970 Era type. Beds are inner spring mattresses and extremely uncomfortable. We actually left a day early so we could go sleep in our Travel trailer because it has a better bed. At the end of our stay we were needing a cart, they would not allow us to use one. The guy had one in his hand and put it in the closet where we could not get to it. $10.00 for towels replenishment. An oversized bathtub that was dangerous to get in and out of. Comes with only half the kitchenette. And an extremely small coffee pot and ony one pack of coffee. A sad experience.

This is our first visit to this resort and I have really enjoyed it. The staff are friendly and the rooms are well equipped for outdoor enthusiasts. A whirlpool spa tub might be romantic but definitely a necessity after a long day of hiking or biking. The layout is a bit strange but does give maximum privacy in minimal space if you are sharing with more than 2 adults sleeping in the room with the bath separating the livingroom and pull-out sofa from the dining and bedroom area. Makes tge soaking tub the centerpiece of the design. Will definitely be staying here again.

Husband and I are staying here currently (June 2017) for a honeymoon we never had. While the staff is professional and nice and did get us discount tickets for a dinner cruise, this resort is EXTREMELY outdated. Rooms look like they are straight from the 70's as another reviewer put. The huge jacuzzi tub that's in the center of the suite have all been turned off so you can't use them. We've been here 3 days now and maid service has not come. Not even to replinish our coffee! We also just found out that new sets of towels and sheets are $10 a set! Also their is no bar or dining on site, and they don't even offer full kitchens or washer and dryer in the suite like other Diamond Resorts. I think the icing on this cake for us so far is they told us we'd have a room with a view of the lake, but when we got here our room was on the floor below the lobby where the only view out our window was trees. I LOVE the Lake Tahoe area and will return to this beautiful area every chance I get, but we will not be returning to this resort!

Great place to stay for a few days. No room service cleaning so you don't have to worry about things being stolen. They have a bar grill and restaurant for those who want to stay in. The only things I'd have to complain about are the valet parking and lack parking around the area.

It was a nice hotel but the cleaning service was bad since they o my clean on Monday's and also the food was expensive! 13$ for a burger with no fries… No Thank you. Overall it was a nice hotel just need alil bit of work.

Great big room with a lovely massive tub. The jets are disabled during the drought, but it was still a wonderful soak. A great place for a relaxing honeymoon week.

Great service upfront and the rooms really nice. 2 people using a "6 person room"

We unfortunately came at a time where the restaurant was being remodeled so it was closed, the roof was closed, and the jets had been turned off in the jacuzzi tubs. I feel that we missed out on quite a few of the amentities that would have probably brought me back. It was also disheartening to come downstairs in the morning to buy coffee from the general store (yes buy because of course there's no restaurant and the coffee provided is really weak) and to find out/smell that the staff had brewed themselves some but we had to wait 15 minutes for the store to open and the coffee brewed. Overall I am not incredibly impressed with our stay so far. I've personally had better experiences at Best Western. We may try again once we're back in season to see if it's better.

Needs a fitness center, and free coffee in the lobby for guests. Otherwise, free Wi-Fi is great.

We've been coming here for the past 20 years. Even though it doesn't have all the amenities of a resort i. E. Full service restaurant and the decor is a little outdated. The staff makes up for it along with the excellent location across from heavenly especially if you're skiing or hiking.

While a little bit dated (but isn't everything in the snow? ), everything is clean and friendly. The attached breakfast restaurant and bar are excellent.

Typical mountain resort; we were there to get married and see eclipse, not swim in the pool.

Nice place to stay. Bed was comfortable but they could use some softer pillows. Only has valet parking. Room layout is a little strange but very comfortable. Nice flat panel TVs. Pool and lounge in lobby only open till 10pm. Overall I would stay here again.

Worst vacation ever. First of all the staff is terrible. We checked in and the lady at the counter could not tell me anything about the area. Then we get to the elevators. Of the three they have serving their 8 floors of rooms two were out of order and the third felt as if it would fall any moment. As for the rooms, well their big and that is where the appeal ends. The beds are hard. The temperature control sucks so we were always either freezing or sweating. The maid service only comes through once a week and there is zero room service. There are no amenities to speak of. The one restraint is only open on the weekends and their is no continental breakfast. Even a best western has a continental breakfast so to speak. We went in December expecting fun in the snow but there was no snow and the one slope that was open only serviced skiers and snowboards. We have two small children and this meant no speeding. No snowmen. No sleigh rides. Nothing. The supposed whirl pool tubs are laughable. The whole place is so terrible that we left three days early to go home. What a waste.

The rooms and staff are fantastic. A little far from the main part of town but right next to Heavenly.
