Pleasantly surprised. Rooms are nice and big, breakfast is ok. Location not too hard to find, and if you don't feel like driving all over, plenty of fast food right up and down the street.

Clean, loved the old world charm, felt very grand and luxurious without being stuffy or formal. Nice breakfast buffet included. Staff members were very friendly.

Cleanliness of Room: Ugh: The first issue was there was old food and dirt under the cushion of the lounge chair. The next one was the fridge — it was frozen inside and blocked the air from circulating. The bottled waters we brought got cold in the morning — we put them in the fridge around 4pm the previous day. The other was when we turned on the air conditioner a bunch of dust and hair flew out into our faces. Not so big but it would have been nice to have tongs for the ice bucket.
Service: My wife and I were in town because she was meeting her birth mother for the first time in San Jose. She got the closest place she could find and I was excited to try something new. When we went to check in, the man that “helped us” was incredibly rude. Considering we forked out money we don’t really have to spend, I was disappointed.
My disappointment turned into anger while we were outside getting our stuff. My wife asked the man if we did something wrong. She didn’t understand why he was so rude. That’s when I heard that the hotel has been having problems with prostitution and drug deals. My wife made a point to tell him why we were there and his attitude changed real quick. In order to be treated like decent people, my wife had to PROVE we were.
So… based on what he perceived when we came in was either prostitution, drugs or possibly both of those from just looking at us.

Not a bad place, I would say location isn’t great… other than that for the price Room is pretty good… and big in size. Breakfast is better than any average hotels.

Stayed here for a week as it was close to the hospital and Dr office my needed to use. Breakfast was good and the staff was very accommodating, the matress did seem a little worn but still slept comfy. Clean room and looked well maintained. Little disappointed there was not a courtyard or patio to go sit outside if we wanted. Would stay here again.

Faulty AC configuration that doesn't allow always on fan mode and a forgettable breakfast.

I needed a room at 1am in the morning… The night attendant Mr. Mark made it happen for me… not only was it last minute… but I also needed handicap… He was patient and eased my stress… Thanks Mr. Mark A. Walker.

Very clean, very friendly staff and good location.

I have stayed at the Bristol Hotel a number of times when in California. Ornately decorated certainly not to my contemporary taste however, rooms are large, clean, and well-appointed. Breakfast is provided composed mostly of standard fare: eggs, breakfast meat, hot and cold cereals, pancakes or waffles and usually fresh fruit and yogurt selections. I have found Hotel staff to be accommodating and extremely Pleasant. I do not hesitate to recommend this hotel to you in the least.

The service here was good. Nice staff, above average breakfast, safe parking. Rooms are clean and quiet.

Always great service, this is the place I would recommend to any guest who is looking for quality accommodation and competitive rates.

I really want to like this place but I feel it is owned by the same owners of Palm Villas Campbell. Gary is a thief of the worst order. Taking advantage of elderly people. Cant get much lower on the scum bag pole except maybe if they preyed on Children.

Nice place to stay for a day or two, well decorated with royal paintings and statues, fair amount of fast food places near by, restaurants are bit far.

Everything was excellent and clean I had no complaints. I enjoyed the hospitality the most and that person know who I'm speaking about.

I liked the decor, the staff, the cleanliness, it was definitely boutique-ish and very comfy and very quiet. But the towels… could have been much better.

Friendly and accommodating service. Hotel was fairly clean, but old and in need of remodeling. Very interesting decor. Breakfast buffet was pretty good — would be improved by fresh eggs instead of boxed.

Decor is a little interesting if your into naked statues and paintings from the 1800s. Seems like it could use some updating. Wi-Fi is not very strong.

Very nice decor. Clean, smelt good. Rooms are big. Bathroom had double sink awesome!
The only 2 things we seen that needed changes are the flushing of the toilet… made big noise & the rug needs to be changed… They were clean but had stains here and there.

I very like their design. It is like a old europe style. Wallpapers, chandeliers, mirrors, pictures, statues… etc. Nice!

It is a solid 3 "star" hotel. Absolutely unassuming on outside this hotel is very elaborately decorated on inside with statues, paintings and chandeliers. Rooms are clean and spacious but a bit dated on inside. Breakfast is pretty much the same as you would find in any chain hotel that offers full breakfast for free. Wifi has decent speed and they are not trying to nickle and dime you for faster connection like Hilton group. Parking is free and adequate for the size of the hotel. I personally like hotel location as it is close to freeway and allows easy access to all nearby areas, but it is far away from attractions so it is quiet and peaceful.

It's difficult to see the hotel sign from the road. It's very nicely decorated, and the rooms are very clean and well designed. The ice machine was broken when we went, and there are too many lights connected to a single switch. It's either too dark or way too bright.

This is a very classy hotel at a reasonable rate for Hotel in the bay area. Rooms very clean. Nice continental breakfast and good service. Rooms are also very large. Much nicer than your typical Hampton or Marriott property. I will stay here again.

This hotel is really nice. It's theme is great and I'd stay here.

Quiet and clean. Very well lit. Breakfast is included and nice.

Building is a converted Best Western. Decor is combination of deco and old Paisley. Had to sign an acknowledgement of no smoking with a $300 fine if we did (our room had been smoked in previously). Room was mostly clean with old bedding and furniture. Probably wouldn't stay again.

The hotel has got a theme to it with some old paintings and statues everywhere. Felt really comfortable and well served by everyone who serviced. Would definitely come back here again.

My only complaints are that there is no microwave in the room and that there are multiple pictures of the same thing/person.

I am actually at the hotel as we speak. The hotel is OK. The carpets in the rooms are old and so faded, but not as old as the mattresses. Oh my! We are staying in the suite which just means the room is a little larger which is great when you have kids. Bathrooms are clean and nice if you like c spiders. The breakfast isn't that great. Eggs are powdered. The pancakes are not fresh and the coffee is horrible. Here is my huge compliant. After a long day in Santa Cruz my son got sick in our hotel room. I am a single mom of two and had know one to help me, so as I went to call the front desk for towels the phone in the room didn't work. I scrambled and found my phone and called the front desk (mean while I am trying to help my son who is throwing up and my daughter is in the tub). When the lady (I will find out her name) answers I tell her our phone doesn't work and she says that she doesn't know what to tell me. Argh! I then proceed to tell her that my son is sick and I need some towels in a hurry. Well, she tells me that she can't leave the front desk. I then tell her I can't leave my kids by them selves let alone my son who is throwing up. She tells me oh well. I guess you will figure something out. This lady never said I am sorry or anything. I an still so mad at how inconsiderate and cold hearted she was. This place doesn't go out of there way for there customers and I do not recommend it. Just horrible. She wasn't the only one that was rude either.

European-style, retro style, very characteristic of the hotel. Free Wi-Fi and Breakfast, the room was also quite large, very quiet. The mattress is too soft, and not too comfortable.

Great service. Very helpful staff. Clean, large room and bath. Great complimentary breakfast. Wi-fi has great signal and fast speed, and is included free. The best room I have stayed in at this price. Came for the convenience, will return because of the staff.

Beautiful Hotel and room! However, the place smells VERY musty! Plus. Be ready! If you prepay for the room when you arrive they REQUIRE an additional CC auth of $150 or $300 cash! I do NOT understand it. The room is already paid for yet they require an additional deposit? And they said basically. Tough! Wow.

Mixed reviews on this place, arrived late for a 3-night stay and they put us in the room closest to the lobby and front entrance (#119). One of the drapes had quite a bit of dried food on it, like someone had spilled their dinner, and it smelt like a smoking room, even though it was supposed to be non-smoking. Windows also wouldn't open as it was a ground floor room, so no fresh air access. However, after 2nd night, we were moved to one of the Suites upstairs (#201) after a mixup in reservations and that was 10 times better, very nice room. Breakfast and dinners are very good, although we weren't informed they were even available until the second day when we were chatting with one of the guests. Stay could probably have been very very good if the front desk would have given us a better room off the bat and information on the meals, which are consequently included in the price (also another thing we didn't know). It would be good if they advertised this somewhere in your room with a little flyer or something.
