A cozy inn just a few blocks from State Street. The rooms are small, but clean, charming, and comfortable. Staff was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Breakfast was delicious. Was perfect for a one night get away.

This is our go to place every time we are in Santa Barbara. The White Jasmine Inn is a beautiful bed and breakfast. The owners are so nice and always informative with anything you need. We always stay in the Lavender room. All the rooms are very spacious and romantic.

Nice room ambiance — Victorian Suite. Lovely grounds and patio. Breakfast excellent. This B&B is very convenient to downtown restaurants, the Museum and bookstores. It’s located in an old and quaint neighborhood. Only flaw — very tiny bathroom and shower stall. All in all we enjoyed our stay very much.

Stayed here for a week on a rest and relax vacation, and I had the best stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and the hot breakfast provided each day was tasty and filling. Over a five day stay, breakfast was unique each time from two different kinds of Frittatas/crustless quiche to waffles with berries and cream to scrambled eggs with peppers and onions and a croissant. Each breakfast included cold OJ and a dish of fresh fruit (pear, plum, strawberry, grape, apple, peach, etc). Private parking is provided as well, in case street parking fills up (or it's street sweeping day). John, the innkeeper, was very personable and friendly, and very easy to talk to. If I'm ever in SB again, I will definitely stay here.

Surprised my wife with a road trip honeymoon from Los Angeles to San Francisco, the White Jasmine Inn was the first stop on the list! Not only did we instantly fall in love with Santa Barbra; but we fell in love with the Victorian style home feel The White Jasmine Inn has. The Inn keeper was very informative and delightful to talk to. The breakfast was delicious! The beach is only a few blocks away and the local Mexican Restaurant we went to for dinner, was the best we've ever eaten! Highly recommend staying here and exploring the area! If you're expecting a Five star fancy hotel, this probably won't be your spot. However, if you like to get out of the norm and venture out this is totally for you.

Super charming B&B. The breakfasts were great, and our suite was adorable. This is definitely a local experience, and much more quirky than a large hotel. I loved it.

How does a place like "A White Jasmine Inn" deserve a 4 Star rating? If you enjoyed the movies "Somewhere in Time" and "Groundhog Day", you will love staying at A White Jasmine Inn in Santa Barbara. A White Jasmine Inn combines the best of both movies into a memorable getaway experience. You think you can tell a lot about a destination, hotel, or Bed 'n Breakfast from photos, or website? You can get an idea. That's about it. A White Jasmine Inn has staff straight out of Central Casting. Take John. He runs things. Now imagine a mix of the following personalities. Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd and Michael Keaton. That's John. On a price/value scale, A White Jasmine Inn is a "10".

Love this place. Beautiful. Friendly owner and helpful. Would love to stay for more than a night next time.

Nice location, but… Two WEEKS after we checked out, the proprietor sent us an e-mail accusing us moving decorations around in the room, thus charging our credit card an additional $35 for damages! I challenged the proprietor and we received a very aggressive response. Our credit card company credited our account the $35, but I'm sure these jerks still got their "surcharge". I would advise staying away from this place like a plague! You never know what you might get accused of.

Beautiful and romantic B&B in a nice quiet location within easy walking distance of a lot of the great shopping/dining locations around State Street.

Will never come back to this Inn. A queen size bed is too big for the room. Very small bathroom, with a tiny (kid size) toilet bowl and tiny sink. Small shower. Over price, there are a lot more hotel around that is cheaper but better all around compare to this.

We are actually starting our second night here, and we really love it. The first night we stayed in the Santa Ynez room and it was very private and was much larger than I expected it to be. It is not in the main house, but rather, just around the corner. This posed no problem at all for us. Because the online photos of it looked so nice, I booked the Craftsman room for our second night. It is in the main house, has a fireplace, huge bed, and a deck with a hot tub. It is just as nice as it appears to be in the photos. I think it is the converted dining room from the original floor plan of the house. The breakfast was very good — egg, mushrooms and hollandaise on a ciabatta bun with a huge side of fruit. Easy to find street parking and parking behind the house; free Wi-Fi; friendly and helpful innkeepers; lovely and quiet neighborhood. Very happy that we found this place.

First of all, if you book here, you are paying for the privacy, the service, and the gardens all of which are ideal. You are not paying for a large room. Don't expect your room to be big at all. It is cozy, warm, simple and private. Everything was clean and there was good coffee in the room for the morning. My jacuzzi worked fine (just fill up the water to above the jet level BEFORE you turn it on! ). I loved the decoration in my room (the Hideaway), too. It rained while I was in Santa Barbara and my room even had a little awning which looks like it was just recently put in. Quite thoughtful. Host was entertaining (if a little odd), and the kitchen staff was very nice and helped me get something special for my wife. I kept my door mostly open and sat in the gardens. The location is very quiet (residential) and there is some off-street parking as well. We are walking distance from a ton of shops as well. Wonderful experience and I would get the same place again.

I was very disappointed with my stay here. After reading the reviews I was expecting to have a nice place to stay with my wife for a weekend. Upon entering our room, we were greeted by a horrible musky smell throughout the room. The bathroom sink kept dripping due to the bad plumbing and we were not even given a new roll of toilet paper. I mean, if you are going to keep the same old roll at least tidy it up and make it look decent! With the weather as hot as it is I would think they would at least provide bottled water in the mini fridge (i wouldn't mind being charged for it but at least have it in there! ) The breakfast was ok, but nothing better than a breakfast platter from the local Denny's. And finally. The bed was so squeaky it was ridiculous. A little maintenance would not hurt. All in all. I would not stay here again and would definitely not recommend it. I mean for over $300/night you are better off staying at a luxury hotel on the beach.

The White Jasmine Inn is a great place to stay! Let me interject that if you're looking for the ultimate in pampering and luxury maybe you should try one of the other hotels or B&B's that charge over $300 a night… but… if you want comfort after a busy day and a quiet street away from the crowds, this is a wonderful place to stay. I have read probably every review on this particular inn and the bad reviews almost swayed my decision to stay there; I am so glad they didn't. To those that think the rooms are decorated to the extreme… think about your complaint… it's an inn that was built in the 1880's and most B&B's try to reflect the period the house was built in. Yes, the Lavender Room has a lot of purple in it!? Yes, the Castaway room has lighthouses and shells throughout the room… why else would you call it the Castaway?! The White Jasmine Inn is a getaway place in a getaway spot. I was there in the middle of June and State Street and the Wharf was packed with people. I loved the whole experience but when it came time to return to my room I knew I was a short walk off the main drag, in a quiet, safe neighborhood. I returned to my room and indulged in my huge jacuzzi tub that ran beautifully and felt simply divine! Everyday was an adventure!

Let me start with the positive first — the breakfast was awesome. Now the list of negatives — Room — very small room. We were expecting a slightly better room TV — the television remote was not working. So called jacuzzi — this also didn't work properly. But the turn off for us was the issue in the charge. They billed me twice. When I called to make a reservation, I mentioned that I have a gift card. They took my credit card information to charge the remaining balance. While checking out, I asked the guy again if they charged the gift card first. He mentioned that he is not sure (just after a day) and he will check. He also said that if he charged my credit card, he will refund the $175 and charge it back to my gift card. Now we came back from the CA trip after 10 days and even after 2 weeks, I see my credit card still having the charge. I called up the Inn first to inquire about the refund. A lady picked up the phone and mentioned that she has the receipt for the refund to my credit card. Since I didn't see the refund, I had to talk to my credit card company and start the dispute investigation. I think my credit card company reached out to them and John (the owner of the Inn) called me and asked why I refunded the $175. Man. He was very arrogant on the phone and I explained to him the reason. He still says that he refunded the $$ and said he will email the receipt of the refund. But he hasn't emailed and my refund is still not there.

My wife and I stayed in the Nouveau Suite for three nights. What a delightful and restful time! The suite was spacious (3 rooms), and we had a wonderful patio with a private jacuzzi just outside our door. The hand-delivered breakfasts were delicious, State Street was a mere three short blocks away, and we had a fabulous dinner at Louies, a restaurant that John recommended. Overall, this was the most restful and enjoyable time I have ever had while visiting Santa Barbara, and I have been coming for 38 years! We will return to the White Jasmine Inn! B. Bennett, Ph. D.
