We have 2 junior suites but one on each floor. That’s what was available at the time of booking, It is next door to the Opera Hall. The Concierge was so helpful in suggesting places that we can visit. The Valet is so kind even as we kept asking him to retrieve our car. I recommend this hotel.

Well placed historic hotel. Adjacent to theatres and town hall. Ballet centre next door looks cool.
Nice friendly little restaurant and bar downstairs.

Stayed at this location for 3 nights on a long weekend. Arrived and was greeted by friendly desk staff who checked us in and pointed is to the concierge to get maps of local attractions. Unfortunately this was just an attempt to peddle a time share opportunity which was very disappointing to me. I didn't stay at a hotel to bee posted a time share. Leave that portion of your business model out and this hotel is serviceable in an ever increasingly expensive San Francisco Bay area. Good rooms for the price and centrally located near City Hall.

Tremendous hotel with extreme friendly staff. Right next to the opera (who would have guessed) and to the City Hall. Rooms a bit tiny, but well equiped and clean. Great for exploring the city by foot. Best to go to the Union Square and rent a bike.

Tiny room. If you are traveling solo and only staying for a night or two its a nice place. Its quiet, the staff is great, breakfast is included and its in a pretty good area. If you're looking for a room for two people and staying several nights to experience the city you probably will be more comfortable elsewhere. Really, there is not even enough room for two adults to unpack!

Such a real nice place to stay. It's just that when you take a shower, there's this weird noise coming out of the shower head when you turn up the water pressure in it. It's so annoying. Probably because they are on water conservation mode. That's why they put that disturbing noise so you get out of the shower quick. Otherwise overall it's a nice and cozy place to stay.

Fun Hotel to stay in. Love the old school elevator and comfortable feeling we had while on our vacation. Continental Breakfast was yummy and filling. Close to great food and sites.

It's a cute, but old, boutique hotel,. It can get pretty loud outside, but it's in a great location! Plaj is a wonderful restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast is always lovely!

Stayed here for a week traveling around the city and seeing plays & musicals. Free continental breakfast, Wi-Fi. Very attentative staff, daily housekeeping, small hotel, quiet, delightful!

Beds are Double Size not Queen! We were in San Francisco for our Babymoon. At 31 weeks pregnant, it is hard to sleep as it is and having a large bed was important to me. We booked a "queen studio" online and were surprised when we arrived to find the bed was very small. The front desk assured us that it was a queen as all the beds in the hotel are the same size. Not satisfied, I got a measuring tape and measured the width of the bed. It was 53" which is the size of a standard DOUBLE BED (Queens are 60"). Armed with this new information, I went back down to the front desk and was told "that is what we consider a queen". I would not have booked this hotel if I had known they were double beds. It is unacceptable to advertise your rooms as something they are not. Would not recommend unless you are looking for a small room with a double size bed.

Simple, clean small room. Could hear all the neighbors activity — tv, talk, shower, closing doors. Bed was way too firm. Hotel staff called the room to high pressure buy a time share.

Great hotel! Close to transit, shopping and entertainment. Very friendly staff! Wonderful complimentary continental breakfast! Complimentary cookies in the afternoon with ice water available all day. Concierge on site is knowledgeable and helpful. Would definitely recommend this as a place to stay!

Our stay this ends in this superb personal hotel very nice and simpa everything was very good service, cleanliness, breakfast, and very well located, I hope to return.

Inn at the Opera was very clean and the place is the energy of the classic times. Q Pretty! The area was convenient but a bit dirty.

My daughter and I came to San Francisco for her to attend an audition for The San Francisco ballet. The Inn at The Opera hotel is just steps away from the door to the ballet! The staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. Our room was clean and well stocked. Although the bed was a little hard for my taste, we had 3 decent nights sleep. I consider the decor vintage or antique. So it is quaint and cozy to me! My daughter’s favorite feature is the vintage elevator with its old time music! She felt every time we entered the elevator we got to step back in time and imagine early 1900 San Francisco! We had a lovely visit! And will definitely stay at Inn at The Opera if we get the chance. Thanks to Kai & Romeo for fixing our TV and VCR! And many thanks to all the wonderful ladies that answered the phone when we got “lost” walking around the city! Blessings to all the staff at Inn at The Opera!

Well run quaint hotel with a Scandinavian restaurant on site. Great friendly staff, good food and a free continental breakfast each morning. Hitel is well kept up. But remember, like most quaint hotels in SF There is no air conditioning so visit them in winter when the rooms are tested.

This is a really cool hotel. I wish I'd been there as a tourist so I could have taken time to explore the area. As soon as the chance presents itself I want to stay again and do just that. Parking is difficult, but you can't expect anything else.

N/A — visited friend who staying there; was only in the lobby, but the interior was nicely decorated and there was a great view of city hall once outside the door.

My experience for Inn at the Opera went very well. Everything was very relaxing and easy, with the service every day up to the meal in the morning. But the best advantage to stay here was the central access for shows and transportation. We are directly in the center of the city. Directly behind the City Hall building.

Price aside it is a nice place to stay in the city. Rooms are comfy, clean and amenities are ample. Located right next to the civic center which is a good central location to be in SF when visiting for recreation or business. Also it is off a street that is usually fairly quiet which is nice.

Thanks Boutique style hotel with quaint antique-like rooms. The front desk staff and breakfast room attendants were lovely. Unfortunately the room cleaning staff is lazy and very unprofessional and ruined what could have been a perfect stay. Even though I removed my do not disturb sign at 9:10 AM they didn't even attempt to clean the room until 4:30 PM just as I was trying to get rest to go to work and told me they leave at 5. What was even more insulting was that the chamber maid lied to me and said I didn't take off the do not disturb sign in time for cleaning early enough which was 9:30. If you're going to stay here and want a clean room I suggest calling the front desk and asking for it.

Assistant general manager, Jake, was rude, arrogant, and disrespectful. Hotel and booking company both had errors on their ends and my wife and I had to suffer for it. Spent first day of our honeymoon at the inn, 2000 miles from home, only to be treated like idoits by Jake when we had conformation paperwork for our booking. Other than terrible experience with Jake, the other employees were very respectable and curtious. Also, rooms are quaint and cozy but DO NOT have air conditioning. The hotel is walking distance to many places as well. However, if not for Jake and the issue at hand, I would have rated higher.

We stayed two nights in a suite (family of 4). It was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The staff are helpful and friendly. Value for money.

Absolutely loved staying here. The staff was absolutely lovely. The rooms are small, but so quaint. The continental breakfast was amazing, and they have cookies, water and apples available all day. The elevator was small, so watch out. My only real complaint was that the walls are thin and I could hear all of the music and chatter from other rooms and the dining room.

We stayed here for 1 week and really enjoyed our time here. The free continental breakfasts were good and had a wide variety of offerings including breads, yogurt, fresh fruit, some meats, eggs, muffins and cereal. Starting at 3 pm there was also free cookies, coffee, teas, and water. The staff is the best feature of this hotel. On our first day, we arrived several hours before check-in with the intent of leaving our bags in storage. We started to leave and the bellman came running after us to tell us we could check-in early. Matthew Geiser, one of the guest services associates, was extremely helpful when it came to recommendations for the trip. He even printed out a list of local bars, restaurants, and activities for us to look over that he had created. The hotel itself is within walking distance to several stores, bars, and restaurants as well as the Opera. The only cons were the heater in our room was broken, we only had a small space heater, so our room tended to be cold at night. There also weren't a lot of outlets in the room.

My daughter and I stayed here this past week. Lovely staff at check-in and very helpful staff at the breakfast which offers quite a variety of food items. There are apples available all day and cookies in afternoon. Cab drivers know where Inn at the Opera is as it has been around for a very long time. Very friendly and accommodating staff from beginning to end!

Our room was not close but the service is very good.
