Review of Aldrich Hotel 2*

PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING HERE! This place doesnt deserve any stars. The service is horrible, the place is dirty, hot and sticky, and just nasty. When we first got there the neighborhood is rough. There is no parking other than street and overnight parking is $30. When you first walk in youll realize it was a mistake. The elevator didnt work and had to drag our bags to the 4th floor. The stairs are dirty and the place looks like it hasnt been cleaned in years (thick crust of dust in corners of stairs and hallways⚠️). Also, some of the rooms were wrapped with plastic and tapped up as if beign fumigated ⚠️. We made reservations for a room with a private bathoom. The toilet didnt work and the bathtub was disgusting (see picture). When we asked for a refund they offered another room that was "better" but no private bathroom. We declined since that was not an option for us. The man at the front desk said they have a strict policy and no refunds are allowed. We asked for a refund for almost 2 hours. It felt like we were talking to a wall the guy kept on saying "you brought yourself here, we didnt ask you to come" and "no refunds theres nothing I can do" This is obviously a small privately owned hotel. They are shameless and straight up robbed us. While we were there another couple who stayed here had many complaints. Unfortunately they had no other choice but to stay there. We paid $114 and did not stay here. This is wrong on so many levels. We paid for a service that was not received and walked out of there feeling robbed. If you can stay somewhere else please do. Make sure to read all your reviews in this area as there are many hotels like this close to Union square.
