Highlight of this place is it's great location. It's walking distance to almost everywhere — wharf, crookedest street, Chinatown… Accommodations though are a different story. Just the basic. Don't expect too much. Lower your expectations.

Pillow and bedsheets were dirty. I can see stains on them. When we checked in, they said our payment didn't go through the but it shows on my account when I checked online.

Very old, yellow underwear, staff put their personal cars in wheelchair parking, parking too small.

The location is great. There many places to go and meet and eat near the hotel. What I did not like was the room. There were stains on the bed and even on the curtains. The hotel in general does not look very clean nor beautiful.

I loved this hotel. Clean, quiet, central location, and most importantly free parking!

The rooms and parking was ok. Good. THE TOWELS were filthy. They are unsanitary and brown. Some of the face TOWELS had dark brow human feces stains on them. I like the hotel, IT WOULD BE GREAT IF BLEACH was used to sanitize the towels.

Basic cleanliness, bedding, etc. Cement hallway meant being woken up when other guests rolled their luggage past and traffic noise echoed through. No fridge or microwave. Wifi signal was good, but you have to keep logging in. If you are in good shape/health, it's within walking distance of fisherman's wharf, Pier 39, etc.

The price was right. We spent no more time in the room than necessary. Friendly staff and adequate breakfast for a good start on the day. Good location for catching the bus. Typical of the motels on that street. Request a room far from the street. Traffic noise can be a problem if you are a light sleeper.

Overall it was ok. We had dirty hand and face towels hanging up. One had what could have been blood or ketchup stain at the lower left corner. Not sure if they didn't see it when they hung it up. Bath towels were almost like rags. Very noisy. I heard every car that drove by and every guest that walk down the walk way. I understand that I would hear some sounds but it was almost like our window or door was open. I could hear every word. Great shower, bed and location are my only positives.

Good value for money, comfy beds, breakfast with jam bread and cereals, but noisy heating and window on the inner corridor. I would go back anyway because of the inclusive price of bathroom in the room, it's really good by San Francisco standards.

Despite us not getting the room for the price of 99$ the 2nd shift was very nice and handsome and give us something off for the inconvenience. The room was nice & clean, even the property, it was quiet for us. Would stay here again if came back to san francisco on trip, I HATE we had to leave so soon. The ONLY thing was that we didnt have a microwave or refrigerator in our room. That's why I gave a 4 star. And we actually left here on the 7th of June I'm shocked of the other reviews.

The rooms are great you either get a decent size bed and a huge bathroom or a bigger room with a larger bed and a small bathroom every thing is so nice and comfy.

Fun spot to be since its conveniently located by shopping and dining. I come quite often.

I would love to give 5 stars to this place, but I don't want to increase expectation of people who are looking at this place. The location is good, staff is nice and the most important thing: free parking. I was here a year ago and paid $70 for the valet parking.

I used points and got the room at a discount, otherwise I wouldn't have stayed there. Good location but it is a older place and it shows. Super small room.

Great location plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. Glad I got it at a special price though as there is no fridge in the rooms which is a pian if staying for more than a couple days and want to cho food or drinks. Rooms are pretty basic. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Only good thing is the location — the hotel is completely worn down and needs massive renovations. Dirty and torn linen and towels, old and uncomfortable bed, extremely noisy from other rooms, hallway and street.

Bedbugs, blood, syringe needles, Rude staff, & toilets that don't work properly. Gross hotel I will never stay at another Howard Johnson's in my life.

The room was very clean. Close to many restaurants and entertainment venues. The parking lot is too small.

Poor guest service! You are given only an envelope with a card to open the door of room and arreglatelas as you can to find loading the suitcases up stairs. You eat a little breakfast and stood. The TV has 2 channels. The only good thing the room clean and made new. 24-hour Street no one controls the input and output. Bad boy.

Very good staff and great location. Rooms are something else though. Very small and barely move around. The carpet qas sticky at some place. Great bathroom though. Noisy rooms by the stairs. Went there with coupons.

Nice managers and good price for SF. Area close to central for visiters.

The people where very nice.
