Location was great, being right off the freeway. The check-in was quick and the clerk was personable. The room sufficed for a late night last minute check-in. The light switch by the door didn't work, so I had to fumble in the dark to the next light switch. The faucet was about to come off the sink and the toilet seat needs to be changed or resurfaced. Also, there was a paper towel wad stuck in the peep hole. Not sure what that was about or why that wasn't removed during cleaning. Overall, Motel 6 met the need for the night.

My wife and I were there last night because we're moving out of San Diego, it was out last night in town, and the movers had already taken our stuff. We've stayed there once before. The rooms are nice and clean, but the reason I don't give it a better rating is the parking lot. Drug use, people living out of their vehicles, and folks drinking to excess out there make you not want to be outside, and worry at least a little bit about your vehicle.

I have stayed at this Motel 6 three times already, and plan to do so in the future. It is close to my disabled sister (whom I will be visiting regularly), which is nice. The price is far less than many other places in the area. The beds are comfortable. The rooms are clean. The people (so far it has been only women) who greet me when I check in are attentive and thoughtful, especially this most recent time. I'm glad I found you!

I was staying in the one near by cleairmont, it was better than I expected, big parking slot, nice beds, big rooms, polite workers and in a good price. I will stay in any of your chain motels without hesitate.

It's a bit off the beaten path, which for some may actually be a good thing. It's surprisingly quite for being right next to the 805 fwy. And while there isn't much to do within walking distance it is however right next to a Korean BBQ restaurant that is ALWAYS packed with people.

Toilet base was cracked, molding around bathroom floor was peeling off exposing rotted wall underneath, door to outside did not close well so room was extremely noisy, shower head/stream was not adjustable and stream was so sharp we had to ricochet the water off our hands to wash or it was painful, pillows were flat and hard, some other guest called our room looking for a USB charger and even asked if he had the correct room number — this being after I saw a man two doors down sitting on the concrete in front of a room wrapped in the hotel bedspread smoking a cigarette. It was good to have a place to lay our heads for one night close to the wedding we were attending but just an overall poor experience and we would not stay here again. Staff was very nice, though!

I was very upset at the Hotel Circle Motel 6 for directing me to the Clairemont Mesa Motel 6. I had asked for the best location to get to the San Diego Old town trolley station, and I was told that Clairemont Mesa Hotel 6 was the best location. Jessie, the girl at the counter at Clairemont, said that I needed to ride a bus to the trolley station, and that the fee for the night was higher than the $67 that I was originally told by Hotel Circle Motel 6. As it was 1AM and I had just traveled from LAX via a van service, I was pretty damned upset. The non-smoking room we booked stunk of cigarette smoke and interestingly a young man was smoking right outside of our room. I must say that Jessie handled my situation very well and assigned us another room. She was very polite to me despite my ranting and raving, and I would recommend that she receive a raise.

There were no frills but as far as a place to stay it met every requirement. The style was a little dated but everything seemed clean.

Wonderful staff, very nice accommodations and centrally located as no other hotel can be. Your literally 5-12mins from anything worth doing in San Diego; just watch out heading northbound on weekdays 6-930, they can be crowded at times. As long as your not some broke dope head trying to get high in the parking lot.

Very upsetting. Rented the room for one night. After checking out about two hours later it dawned on me I left my white gold bracelet and watch in the room. I called and spoke with the manager on duty. Jewelry wasnt recovered. I know exactly where I had left it. All I received was a letter of apology in the mail from the corporate office. Disgusting! I have to give a rating in order for comment to post… here you go!

Great staff. Very helpful. Room was clean. Bed was very uncomfortable as it was literally a soft mattress on a sheet of wood. No shampoo provided. Worst thing was mold on bathroom ceiling. If you stay there, avoid room 114.

The room was nice. Person manning the check-in counter was friendly and helpful. No complaints.

I stayed here for 2 nights. The first night was absolutely terrible for many reasons. First of all I specifically booked for a nonsmoking room because I have Asthma, and they ended up giving me the last room (smoking). The room smelled horribly of smoke so bad, that I couldn’t fall asleep and had to wake up to use my inhailer because I started feeling chest pains. On top of that I had to kill a bug that crawled out from under the bed! The floor was not swept at all I had to wear shoes the entire time I was in there because I didn’t want my feet to touch the floor. And of course there was a ball of hair under my comforter (clearly showing they didn’t bother to change the sheets). I couldn’t relax and fall asleep the entire night because this room literally disgusted me, and not to mention gave me an asthma attack. I couldn’t believe I had to pay $100 to sleep in this room.

The location was fine, though the sign is very hard to see from the main road. I had a bit of trouble finding it. the water pressure was so low, I was unable to take a decent shower either day, even though I complained about it on the first day.

I found out after renting my room & calling the front desk about a handful of transients hanging out by the fence near my room. I was informed that Motel 6 was gracious enough to allow hotel vouchers to be used by homeless who's shelters had been closed. So I really felt bad and didnt want to make any further complaints. There were people hanging outside their rooms smoking and hanging their clothes to dry on the fence. I can appreciate the thought of helping out in the community. But you do realize this brings down your standards. I've stayed at your motels throughout many years. Due to that I have dogs. But I have to second-guess the next time I book a room. The vouchers that the homeless receive can be used at any hotel, so in a sense this is a greed and put in your reputation on the line. The hotel was booked. I had trouble booking it prior. Only to end up in a situation I really wanted to check out of immediately.

No hot water. Need to check hot water flow to 101. I enjoyed my stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. Will be back!

The room was not as clean as other motel 6 I have stayed at. Cleanliness to me is one of the most important aspects of a motel. There were stains in the curtains and the blanket. Please make sure everything is clean.

It was good for the most part. Room is clean. Only complaint I had was the toilet. Didn’t seem like it was cleaned properly or maybe it just was a stain. Buy overall, I recommend this hotel if you’re looking for something affordable.

I had originally booked a double queen room (3 guests) as my nephew was going with us. His plans changed so I canceled and re-booked a king ADA accessible (now only my wife, me and dogs) The "king" was nowhere near a king bed, a "full" at best. VERY uncomfortable size wise for two adults. The bathroom sink was unsatisfactory also in that there was NO shelf/platform or anywhere to place toilet articles (razor/toothbrush/toothbrush/toothpaste/lotion, etc. ) Also when booking I had stated that I required a mini-fridge/microwave as I am diabetic & disabled. Only when I arrived and was checking was I told they don't provide them. They did acknowledge they had seen the request though. An e-mail or phone call would have been appreciated. Yeah, I guess I should have verified if they did have the micro-fridge combo however I have stayed at a different San Diego Motel 6 in the past (several times) and they provide them. I'll be staying at that one in the future. I'll still be staying at Motel 6 in the future, just not this one.

Hello I am very happy to give my opinion of your location. I enjoy staying at your location because of the outstanding customer service I always receive. Your CSP Yesenia is the best. It is Employees like her that keep me going back. Yesenia is always friendly helpful and just a very nice young lady. Every location should have a Yesenia working for them. Yesenia should be commended for the superior job she does. I will also mention that your rooms are always clean and your rates are definitely reasonable. Thank you for considering my opinion.

I put my granddaughter and her family up there and the place was clean and reasonable and the amenities were excellent. I would recommend this Motel to anyone who wants to save money and have a nice place to sleep.

Room smelled like vomit. They charged $150 for the room "because they could" (coincided with San Diego air show), which is nearly double the normal weekday rate. And then they had the nerve to charge extra for Wi-Fi. And you'd think they might waive that charge given their windfall on the room rate — but not a chance. The toilet was loose on the floor and rocked back and forth if you weren't careful. The sink had an aerator that sprayed water onto the sink bowl at such a high velocity that it would reflect up and out and get your whole shirt wet. The towels were much thinner and smaller than any regular $150/night hotel. No amenities in the bathroom except 2 bars of soap (bring your own shampoo and everything else). Very small room, but I don't mind that. No breakfast snack, just an urn of coffee. Parking lot feels unsafe, and hidden from outside view — a mugger would feel empowered there. Location is back behind a restaurant and hard to find from the street. If you're not careful you'll turn into the hotel next to it, and only after parking and trying to check in at the desk do you discover that you're at the wrong hotel — YOUR hotel is that scuzzy one back against the freeway.

Well it's right off the 805 the rooms are completely nice now compared to the way they were back in 2000 and the service is pretty much a okay you have a good handyman name Oscar and the sheets are always clean not too much traffic I must say it was a good day.

This bed in this place was disgusting. Our pillows and blankets had hair all over them and the mattress pad was really dirty looking. When we called to get then replaced the ladies were really rude and said that, even if they got us new linens, thrrr would still be hair on them because the washer and dryer doesn't take them all out. I've worked at a dry cleaners and our linens never came out with tons of hair! After changing the linens, the new pillows they gave is were still gross. There were gnats in the shower and the sink didn't drain properly. Also, the lady in the lobby tried to tell us we booked a smoking room, when our print-out of the room reservation confirmation clearly said non-smoking room. They gave us a room that reeked of cigarette smoke. It's not worth the price. Fork over a little more cash for a decent hotel room with free Wi-Fi.

Location was difficult as it sits directly behind a restaurant. You must turn as if going to the restaurant and then drive behind the restaurant to get to the front of the hotel. There are no other roads leading to this hotel. Beyond that, it is a basic room. It has a bathroom, bedroom, and a little nook to sit at. There is no dresser, so you will be using your luggage as a dresser. Nor is there a mini fridge or microwave. Though there are several local dining options. Parking is free but Wi-Fi is not. Parking is plenty. The walls and door are dense and do a good job of keeping out noise. In conclusion, if you need a simple place to stay, this is a decent choice. If you are looking for a get away hotel or if you will be staying an extended time, you may be better looking elsewhere for features to suit your needs.

It was pricey for the area. Bed was uncomfortable. Staff was friendly. No breakfast, but free coffee.

One of the worst hotels ive ever stayed at. I stopped staying ay Motel 6s years ago. I was talked into trying them again. I cannot say I am shocked, as it is a Motel 6. Dirty, odor filled rooms. Very dirty on the exterior. Broken items and stains all in the room. 430 PM and room was still not cleaned. Brought family back from the beach, and wouldnt you know. No water in the entire hotel. Was told plumbing would be restored in the familiar excuse of " 10 Min" hours later still no water. I wouldnt stay at another Motel 6 for any reason in the world. I would rather sleep in my vehicle. Again, not surprised. Motel 6 can no longer "Leave the light on for you" The lights are usually inoperatable.

Great value and location. Room was very clean and bed comfortable. Close to perfect experience at this motel. Highly recommend this place and will definitely stay here again on my next trip.

Horrible place. I checked in to what I thought was a clean room. I went out and when I returned at night, I pulled the blanket back and the sheet had black stain on it. There were beer cans under the second bed. I took photos as proof. I paid for Wi-Fi, it was only $2.99 but I could not use in on my laptop or phone. Had to be one or the other and the signal was so bad, the streaming movie was watching on Netflix kept freezing. I got my stuff and left. Security guard looked at me like I was crazy. Will never patron a Motel 6 again.

I love the room the service was good but they drugged people around the front is not the business I think if they need to update they soldiers but I like everything else.

The room is very modernized, bright colors and a huge flat screen TV. The room do not come with shampoo and conditioner. There was no hair blow dryer or coffee maker either. The room was very clean and is a huge plus that this motel 6 accepts pets.

I found this place online after checking into a true Roach motel. I really like the new contemporary style rooms that this motel has. Although there isn't anything really special about the rooms they were clean and very close to a lot of nice restaurants that I could easily walk to. Easy access from the freeway. Perfect for a business trip.

I stayed here because of location and pet friendly. However, there are def. Drug people (tweakers) hanging out at night around the parking lot, on steps, sleeping in bushes on a path to walk dogs on. Very concerned about these people. I moved my car into a spotlight near the front desk check in. There was a very thin tweaker (drug addict) hanging out in parking lot at night with a white shirt over his whole face. There was a man with a SECURITY shirt but he did nothing about these people. I'm sure most of them were not guests of the Motel. The rooms are nice and renovated… clean… new flat screen… they've tried… but, come on! Get rid of these druggies.!

Everyone is very professional, respectful and friendly to their guest. The rooms are clean and all the basic needs provided. Wi-Fi access, Screen TV, Prices are reasonable too. Location great: close to shopping, and freeways. The beach is pretty close too. And don't forget: free coffee @7am.

This Motel 6 location has re-designed interiors and is well improved. There are queen rooms which is great for a single or a couple. I like this location in San Diego. It's near the Tecolote Canyon recreational area, shopping and the great beaches.

Stated as "Double Room" on Priceline. Upon arrival, the lady at the reception said it is actually a one bed room and said she doesn't know why is it stated as "Double Room. " She gave my brother and I some time to look for another place. After some time, called three times to inform her that we will take the room as booked but no answer. Went back to the motel 6 just to tell her that as brother and I was rushing for movie just to find out she was on her mobile phone claiming the phone didn't ring (She used that phone to call me ahead and so no way I was calling a wrong number either). Went back to check-in and rest after a long day, and another lady at the reception said the room is gone because 'the card was declined. ' The same card was used in a Best Western at Clairemont Dr. Not only it went through with them, moreover, staff was WAY nicer than that ignorant bitch at Motel 6, and even helped me enroll in their rewards program for a discount. Booked Motel 6 for the price, but will never again.
