Great service. Good location affordable price. Don't have roll in beds.

Room was clean and decently updated. Proximity to the Gas Lamp is great. Wish parking was included in room cost though.

Staff was helpful, everything ok. Glad I asked for top floor though, rooms are not sound proof. A little bit noisy.

The only thing I could say is I had the complementary breakfast. Pancakes, yogurt, assorted pastries, coffee and juice. Not bad. When one takes into consideration the downtown location, free parking and breakfast when it comes to the price of the room it's not that bad. Not even half bad.

I had some friends staying at the hotel. I paid $16 to park my car at the hotel overnight. Service was smooth and simple.

Because my wife forgot her reading glasses in San Antonio Texas on March 2017 in we call the hotels many times they said we going to sended, to now they never sended Expensive glasses.

The upper floor rooms are really nice: renovated with views of the city. Avoid the first floor rooms which are dingy and have views of the parking lot and people walking by. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Paper thin walls. Nice laminate floors. Fairly spacious. EDIT: They were super nice and let us in 8 hours early and got to eat the. Also, we needed to leave after the checkout time, so we were store our luggage in a back room until our late flight.

The room was fairly clean, just a bit old and needing repairs with various items. Everything worked alright, just old. It was the cheapest hotel I could find in the area with decent reviews and it accomplished what I needed it for; one night's sleep and some breakfast in the morning.

The rooms are comfortable and quiet. A problem can be the Parcaderio for Ay very little space. It is located downtown San Diego near many deals and restaurants.

Good location, old building, nice people at counter, fast check in and out, room just ok but comfortable, breakfast ok but lousy crowded breakfast room, a little expensive for what you get, but then, it´s down town S. Diego close to Gass Light District.

Great place to stay on a budget without getting grossed out. Reasonable rates and a 3 min cab ride or 15 min walk to almost anywhere downtown. This is a great place to stay if your bar hopping for the night.

For a discount Inn, it was about as expected. The room was clean, but the accommodations were nothing special. The bed was quite firm and the pillows a bit rock like. The breakfast was a nice touch, but SD has so many great options. The location was solid and perhaps the best part. Parking was available below for $16 and despite being kind of strange to access, it was fine.

Was given a room without functioning toilet. The door also lacked safety locks/latches — it appeared the door had been previously kicked in and not replaced. Was offered a room at a different hotel that would not allow my dog (so. Not an option). After arguing I was comp'd $20 from the room — I had been traveling for 12hrs, checked into room at 10:30pm, was offered this deal past 1am. Annoyed to all hell by the time I went to bed. When checking out next morning, a different staff member claimed to have comp'd all but $5 of our stay which I felt was adequate. That was a lie, however, as my credit card bill revealed they had actually only removed $5 from the total (not even the $20 comp that was offered to me at 1:30 in the morning). Again, with no toilet or security lock this room shouldn't have been rented at all. After a couple weeks of emailing their corporate office and threatening to alert the BBB and local authorities about the legality of renting a room in such poor condition, they offered a refund. I frequent Red Roof Inn, I had stayed in three other Red Roofs the same week I stayed here (drove from TX, through NV), I road trip often and stay in them almost anytime I travel (I love their pet policy) ; however, this Downtown San Diego location was the worst hotel experience in recent memory — definitely the worst Red Roof I have ever been a "guest" at.

There is parking very expensive and bad reception and very bad treatment more options are better fences here don't come to this pigsty.

This location is good to book as a last minute stay like I did. The room was clean but it needs a lot maintanence. Almost everything was wood but in bad condition with dents, scratches etc. They have bad electrical outlet wiring which can be dangerous if you have children that get into everything. Bed was confortable.

I stayed two nights here. The parking lot is consistently full, and the staff was rude. The walls are thin and the plumbing bad. The room itself had indiscriminate water damage, and the floor was coming apart. Will not stay here again.

I stay in a lot of red roofs to take advantage of their pet policy, worst red roof stay I have ever had.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location being close to the beach and pier. We got a corner room and it's a very awkward layout. The shower is super small and the lights are dim and not working. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything your neighbor is doing. We paid the $16 dollar a night for parking, only to realize once they run out of parking in the main area, you have to park in a underground parking lot that requires 3 left turns (due to the one way streets) and we had to walk from the garage to the hotel. Although it wasn't a long walk, it was still a bit of an inconvenience to have to carry our stuff.

The hotel itself is mediocre, the shower is tiny with almost no pressure, and everything else is acceptable. But the person manning the front desk was amazing. I think his name is Ivan, we had our baby with us and asked where we could get some milk for him, and they brought up enough milk to get through until the next morning, saving us time and energy finding a store! He also made numerous dining recommendations and brought up dining fliers multiple times when we couldn't decide what to have delivered. The service was outstanding and made the whole hotel experience wonderful!

My partner and I just stayed here for 4 nights. We booked on Hotel Tonight (had great discounts every night) and we were happy with it. We were pleasantly surprised by the rooms which were decent. By no means is it updated, but still felt clean and the beds were very comfortable. The only issue was the Wi-Fi not working too well for me and by the second time calling the desk for password information, she seemed a little peeved! Other than that, customer service was fantastic. The guy that assisted me when we checked in was awesome. If you're traveling to San Diego and trying to save some money this is the spot!

Place well located and in the middle of San Diego. Easy to go anywhere! Good room service and nice rooms.

I booked a room for my mother and brothers San Diego trip. They were treated very well by the front desk. Place was extremely nice for the price. Easy to find and book. My brother forgot his phone back in the room after he and my mother left. After contacting the desk about our situation they confirmed he did Leave behind his iPhone. Very professional. He didn't he get his phone back and all went well. I would definitely book again and will refer Red Roof Inn to my friends and family:) ) ) Genuinely- Mrs Davenport.

Shockingly good. I was just expecting a super basic and cramped motel room, but was surprised to get a very spacious hotel-sized room with all the amenities we needed, nice floors, walls, a decent bathroom and a good view of the city up on the third floor. Would definitely recommend this place.

Red Roof Ash St Gaslamp is at a great location. Price is always right the times I've stayed there fm hotels tonight app. Rooms are generally clean but they do have a roach infestation problem that each time I stay recently it seems to be getting worse. Occasionally noisy particularly at night on weekends so beware of both issues. An ok but free breakfast included. If you're looking for a good rate at a great location this is your place. If an occasional bug (roach not bed bugs) and noise bothers you then stay away.

Room did not have water, had to change the room and they key was not functioning so had to call the staff every time I had to leave the room. The only thing bearable was the staff which was courteous and cooperating.

Great basic rooms, great staff and a cheap price! What more could you ask for?

Nice location, large rooms. Maintenance Staff has taken 2 days to fix the sync. The shower is too low. Parking fee charged separately, price around USD 16/day, you have to include that in your forecast if you are planning to park your car. Daily fees are increased during weekends (Sat/sun), please check the fees for weekend.

Never checked into a hotel in 30 sec before. Staff was nice and helpful. Dated rooms with some decent renos. The floors are Lino not hardwood. Windows dont open. Everything was pretty clean. Over all was happy with what I paid for. Short building in a tall city so not much view. Would stay again.

Horrible customer service. They were very rude. They charge you for parking which was unadvertised. Rooms smell and look nothing like the pictures online. Ruined my experience in San Diego.

A nice place to stay, located in the heart of town, parking space available, complimentary breakfast, Wi-Fi, shuttle to and from the airport, the staff very helpful, what more can anyone ask for.

Enjoyed my stay. Friendly staff but room-keeping a little bit intrusive. Located in a strategic area: 15min by walk from downtown, Broadway Pier and 35min by walk from the Balboa Park.

Brenda, one of the cleaning ladies here, feels the need to go through my things. Any time I leave change, she takes it. Even out of my wallet. If you like privacy, do NOT stay here. Its a good location, but the cleaning ladies don't have any regard for your personal belongings.
