Stopped in Redding on a whim, saw the sign right off I-5, made it easy. Prices were good considering I didn't want to spend too much, area seemed ok with Denny's in the same parking lot. Rooms were nice, not really fancy but better than cheap motels. Loved the pool, free Wi-Fi, and free breakfast at Lumberjack's made it worth it, I'll stay there again next time I am in Redding.

For the price that they wanted to charge us it was not worth it. Found a cockroach and they didn't even use a fitted sheet on our mattress. We only had 2 small pillows, the fridge didn't work and there was no phone in our room. Will not be going back to that place. The lady that checked us out was very nice and understanding.

This is an older and worn motel with breakage and maintenance challenges. It serves as an overflow for the much newer Red Lyon Property about 4 blocks away. If you book, make sure you are clear on which property you are registered for. Door locks, some plumbing and AC units are beyond their serviceable life in this one. Given that I must say the rooms are clean and they did have a spot on short notice. Location is pretty good too.

This was a very nice place they had new beds and the staffs are on top with anything I needed The room was nice and clean and they had free breakfast which is really good. I sure will be coming back here Soon Thanks Again Red Lion for the wonderful stay.

Cleanliness and accommodations — 4 stars hotel management intelligence — NEGATIVE 5 STARS. MASSIVE CONSTRUCTION in the street outside our room. Literally 25 feet outside our door — BULLDOZERS and JACKHAMMERS starting at 7am…! the real kicker is the hotel was 2/3 empty and they could have put us on the OTHER side of the complex but THEY DIDN'T. NO WARNING about the construction and it wasn't like it just happened because all the equipment was already there when we checked in…! Still debating on whether to reverse charges on the credit card. Whoever runs this hotel should be fired…! Photo is from our room's doorway… ya, that's a jackhammer they're running…!

Good place to stay for the price I paid ($41). The bed was a little sunken on one side but I slept fine on the other. Had to unplug the TV to plug in the microwave. But honestly a nice room and in a good spot off i5. The price is the reason this got 4/5

The first night we stayed I woke up with bug bites all over my arms, back and legs. They moved us rooms because there was blood stains on my sheets and had to move us multiple times because many of the rooms smelled horribly of ammonia. As if someone had poured it all over the floor. The second morning we kept seeing bugs all over outside and finally realized they were cockroaches. I have pictures and videos of the bites covering my body as well as the cockroaches that we seen.

Had the craziest problem here. Tried to cook a couple burgers (on our own grill) on the back street. That was a problem. People smoking by the ashtray. That was a problem. Then the lady had the nerve to come down and say ‘ya know were going to have to have you guys leave in the morning. Just though I’d let ya know because you guys have slot of stuff. ’ (We have 8 rooms and 16 people. ) we asked what the reasoning was for it and she said ‘first off your dog isn’t a service animal, second you guys barbecued without permission, third smoking issues’ (mind you she asked one of our guys once to not smoke by the ashtray and that was the end of it). She has like some weird vendetta against us. Management was super rude when we tried to talk to him about it all and tell him about a bed bug they had found. (They had the thing in hand). Mind you we were just trying to let him know. Whatever. Plus they don’t even have cameras to watch that we did absolutely nothing wrong.

I wasnt to impressed at first, but, they made it right… no questions asked! I stay there now as a first choice. Affordable, older hotel, that is clean and comfy.

The reason we stayed here is because we have pets. Our dogs loved it but us … not as much. The room was less than average but the sheets I think were clean. The rest of the room is very old and needs some help. It is conveniently located next to the highway, not sure this was a plus. A Mexican restaurant, Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant, 435 E Cypress Ave, was within walking distance and was wonderful. However, I think we will try another place next time. We will however go back to the Mexican place for food!

I was not pleased with my stay here. The lady staying above our room had warned us of teens coming around at night and popping car windows and stealing people's belongings. My senior father is very protective of his new jeep so he decided to sleep in the vehicle just in case this happened. The area had a lot of people walking around all hours of the night and they were very loud and obnoxious. At approximately 2 in the morning, the people a few rooms down from us got into a huge fight and were screaming and yelling at each other outside of our room for a while. The cops ended up coming and it took a while for them to get these people calmed down and out of there. We did not sleep for but maybe an hour total this evening. I told the desk lady when we checked out the next morning, and she pretty much shrugged it off like, whatever.

This was a Red Lion, Really? When we arrived, we had to have the staff clean our room. The bed had stains and the floor was filthy. There was no coffee pot in the room, the Ice machine was broke and did not work. The TV only got fuzzy local channels. We put up a do not enter/ no maid service sign, but the maid came in anyway and went through our stuff. The lamp by the bed was flickering on and off, and the shower curtain bar was falling off the wall. The room description said there was a refrigerator, however, it took the staff over an hour to locate one for us, and I had to move it. When we went to have our hot breakfast, we were given a voucher for a restaurant we had to drive to. It was like a room out of a movie, I didn't think a room could be this bad. On a good note, it had the best Wi-Fi; I ever had in a motel. All in all, I am very surprised that this was a Red Lion Motel.

Katie was great! I had a small problem which would have kept me from coming back. I did not share this with her, just alerted her to the problem. She took care of it quickly and professionally. I highly recommend Red Lion Inn.

I have been to this hotel on multiple occasions and it had ideally been above average. On my last visit I booked online as usual and paid for my room in full prior to my arrival. I arrived at a very late hour sometime past midnight due to this family emergency. When I got there the checkered informed me at the desk that he had no rooms available whatsoever. I informed him that I had already paid for mine in full he said he had no record of that I went out to my car and got my daughter-in-law brought her back in with me and the reservation number at which point he then told me he found it but they still have no rooms left. He was very rude and was not trying to be very accommodating. Finally after 30 min of arguing it was clear he had given my room away because he thought I was not coming since it was after midnight. And out of the blue he found a room for me it was the handicap room and it had not been used in months. My daughter-in-law asked if it was cleaned or he could send somebody up to look at it first and he said it was and that he would send somebody up there. That was not the case because when we arrived in the room there was feces all over the toilet area. We were so tired we ended up staying the rest of the night and in the morning I spoken complain to the manager and she was very accommodating and offered to comp my night with a new night. She was brand. New but it was clear that she had loads of experience elsewhere.

Older place but rooms were clean. The beds were good. Fine place for aleeping after a long drive.

We stay here once a month for a week at a time for work. We love it. Friendly staff, nice room, fair price and GREAT breakfast.

This is an Incredibly shady hotel with somehow shadier staff. We forgot our memory foam pillows in our room so we called and we were assured they would be sent back. After a month of their "book keeper" who "handles their shipping" ovoiding us, the pillows have not been returned and the manager that once promised they had been shipped is now claiming they were never located. When we arrived, there was no employees to be found anywhere. We waited in the lobby for about 20 minutes, and in that time, a man who was violently hallucinating joined us in the lobby where he alternated between staring at us while histarically laughing, and looking at the ceiling like there was dragons flying around the room. For your own safety, and your reasonable right to have decent customer service, I do not recommend that anyone stay here.

This can't be a real Red Lion Inn. I've stayed in some real dives in my time and this is one of them — a solid $29.95 motel being passed off as something worth nearly $100. No fridge, no coffee in the room and nasty old coffee leftover in the lobby's machine. Then I had to fix the running toilet myself. Took the battery-less TV remote to the clerk who said it wasn't even the right one… said he'd bring me the right one in a few minutes — of course he never showed up. Broken lamp, beat-up furniture. No deadbolt. Stains, lumps & sharp things in the carpet. Bugs & bug residue. And finally BITES around my neck & legs. First & LAST time in a Red Lyin' Inn. A true dump run by a thieving gang of ripoffs.

This is by far the worst hotel I have stayed at. Stained sheets/pillows, mold on the ceiling, shower not draining and a rattling AC unit is not what I expect from a hotel. I posted pictures so you can see for yourself that I'm not exaggerating. Seriously. How is this even allowed. Isn't there some health code for hotels? I'm seeing mold. That can't be allowed. I will be contacting corporate with this information. Oh my favorite part of this hotel is the staff. When I asked for new towels and sheets/pillow cases the gentleman let me know he would bring some up. He did bring them and had me make the bed. Yup, did not even come in and replace the sheets. Oh and the new sheets and towels were dirty! No joke the new sheets had worse stains than the original. The picture with my hand is with a "new clean towel". This place is ridiculous.

If I could give a minus rating for the Red Lion Inn & Suites I would. We were in Rm 218. Personally, I would rather give a positive review and have written 3 just before writing this one. I believe in rewarding good service. However, this needs to be made known so other travelers are aware of what to expect. While looking for a home in Redding CA we stayed at the Red Lion Hotel on Hilltop, 11 or 12 nights over 4 visits and found the hotel to be everything you come to expect with the Red Lion name. Clean rooms, fair prices and courteous staff. On moving day, due to circumstances beyond our control we were forced to book a room at about 8 PM at the Red Lion Inn & Suites on E. Cypress. The main hotel on Hilltop was sold out. When we arrived to the room just past midnight, I was shocked by the filth in the room. The first thing I noticed were multiple LARGE stains on the carpet. When I started looking around, I found the following… Blood in the bathtub, towels were stained or dirty. Paint splatter was on the curtains and in general a dirty, unkempt environment. The carpet was so grungy looking that not even socks were enough of a barrier to give any peace of mind. The room was so dirty, I could not bring myself to walk on the carpet without shoes or touch other surfaces with my hands. Things were so bad that I pulled the sheets back to look for bugs. Though I didn't see any, I did wake up with 4 bites on one leg the next day!

It sounds fancy but really it's just another motel similar to motel 6. The only reason we stayed was because it had vacancy. Be sure to ask for a AAA Discount… they don't even check if you're a member. The room was typical… old but serviceable. We saw stains on the bed cover so definitely don't sit on it! The bed was lumpy and sagged into the middle. The free Wi-Fi didn't work at night nor in the morning.

Red Lion Inn & Suites on cypress in Redding was disgusting. Terrible experience. My husband and I stayed here with our 1 year old overnight in transition to moving out of state. The manager "Liz, " as well as the manager above her were completely rude and unprofessional. Our bathroom had hair on all of the towels and the toilet seat. Our bed sheets had multiple stains covering it as well as more hair in the bed. We got to the hotel late at night after booking online and we woke up at 6 in the morning to our son screaming and discovered two bugs on the blanket. We made a complaint about the room in which Liz came to check it and she told us that the room was fine and said that we would not have stayed in the room if we truly thought it was bad and then walked out of the room. But when you have a one year old and you're pregnant and its 9 :30 at night what other choice do you have than to stay and make a complaint hoping they would have great customer service. Terrible service. Waste of money & time.

I have never written a review before but felt compelled to do so this time. We stayed at the Hospitality Inn in Redding Calif one dark and very stormy night in January. The web said Pet Friendly so we rented a room. The room had no towels, hangers, toiletries, or bath mats. We didn't complain though. The web said a breakfast which consisted of very, very stale donuts. We never complained. We got our visa bill and noticed an extra charge of $100 on our visa. Hospitality Inn said that they charged $100 because of the dog being in their pet welcome hotel. I didn't know that visa could charge anything more on our account than we authorized. After talking many times to Hospitality Inn and visa, we still hadn't resolved anything. Hospitality Inn said they had a receipt showing that my husband signed the no dog policy and that they would send me the copy but that was in April and to date I have not seen anything from Hospitality Inn. It was a bogus charge. There was no damage to the room because of the dog.

Laura was wonderful. Rode bicycle 80 miles from lk almanor and was shocked at how tweaky much of redding has gotten. Red lion was clean safe and reasonable. Deals at dennys and lumberjack cafe next door too.

There is a man named David who had zero customer service skills. We went in with reservations purchased online that had confirmed our payment on our credit card and he said we needed to either get a credit card from the online booking site or give him or credit card or he was done with us. He had a poor attitude and was talking down to both of us. We are on a ladies trip, it's 12:30am. Unfortunately we didn't get to experience the cleanliness or any other aspect of this hotel because we walked away sure to pour customer service right inside the front door. However, I will say that the red lion on hilltop in redding is 100 times better than this one here. I hope I saved someone the trouble that I encountered.

I am staying in this motel as we speak. It's clean warm no bugs the bathroom was nice and it's very quiet here. The lady at the front desk was super nice. She welcomed me and made me feel comfortable. The only thing that I have to say is that I don't like that they charge you over $100 for deposit. I think that's a little obsessive. If it wasn't over $80 a night on weekends I would definitely stay here again.
