This is our favorite hotel to stay at while we are visiting Morro Bay. We love the location and how friendly the staff is and how clean our rooms always are!

We stayed at the Blue Sail Inn overnight and had a pretty good time. The beds are comfy and the location has a decent view of the beach. They have a free breakfast near the lobby that has cereal, oatmeal, fruit, eggs, toast, pancakes, and bagles as well as a variety of drinks. The thing is the room was quite expensive for a place like Morro Bay. Not sure if I would stay there next time but as a hotel it isn't half bad.

Horrible service! Very unprofessional I have asthma and breathing issues I walked into the hotel room located across the street and was met with a horrible smell of a old casino roach motel smell that immediately smelled like cigs and hurt my throat, the room wasn't even ready yet, I went back and asked if I could be moved to the cleaner main side and they said for an extra 150 dollars I explained the smell was too much, I then asked if I may retract my reservation they said it's too late and would be charged 100% regardless of the accommodation, while I was there a woman came in with her son they had just checked out early at 8 and forgot to turn in the keys she had a little boy that needed to use the restroom they told them sorry they have public restrooms down the road! Wth they just stayed at your hotel EXTREMELY rude staff DON'T STAY HERE! give your money to small businesses that deserve it!

It’s ok but if I had looked at it first I would of picked another place to stay. I booked it online… Not as nice as I was expecting for the price. I stayed at some really luxurious hotels in Cambia and Monterey for what they charged. It’s not luxurious at all. I was expecting more for my buck… I’d rate it as a 2 1/2 to 3 ⭐️ hotel! But staff was very nice and it’s walking distance from the main strip!

This is a great spot to stay. Close to embarcadero street and you can just walk wherever you want. Room was nice and clean and good size. They were very nice and let us check in way early. I love that about a hotel. Will stay here again.

I've been coming here for years. It is one street up from the Embarcadero has amazing views of the ocean and Rock. The rooms are clean, comfortable and easily accessible.

Clean, basic hotel in a great location and with a few nice amenities. There are two mirrors and an extra ledge in the bathroom. Microwave and small refrigerator.

We were very excited to book this hotel but as soon as we arrived things started not being so cool. Unless you book the room with balcony otherwise it is not worth the money we paid for a room without the balcony. I think hotel is overpriced for what they offer. Location is good. We were looking forward after long drive to jump into outdoor jacuzzi that they advertise on their website but it didn't exist anymore. We were so disappointed especially my 4 year old. The breakfast was bad too. For that price they could do a little more. There are plenty hotels without amenities in the same area for half the price.

The blue sail Inn was a nice cozy place reasonably priced! We got what we paid for nothing super fancy nothing super cheap all in all a pleasant experience!

We liked it very much. Our room faced the big rock & we had a beautiful sunset to look at as well. The room was clean, bed was comfortable. The makeup vanity in the bathroom was wonderful. Nice lighting & you could stand close enough to the mirror to see well. The only thing I would suggest would be a bigger toilet. It was small & sat low to the ground. We would stay there again though.

We have been there a few times and it was amazing rooms very clean housekeeping was great and the view from our room was amazing we won’t be staying any place else loved it! See you soon.

Nice view for the third floor of the East building, and those in the west building. The service was really good. The only issue, is that our room smelled a bit like smoke when we got here. Not enough to get the allergies going, but enough that you knew someone broke the no smoking policy. Other than that, its a great place.

The best thing about this place is the location. Central to most all. We were able to walk anywhere within a just a few minutes. The beds are in need of replacement, but we didn't spend much time in them anyway.

Nice hotel in a great location. I would definitely stay here again. I wish the breakfast room was a little larger and had a bit more selection, but that's a minimal thing.

Great stay. We had two rooms with an awesome view of the rock from our balcony… rooms 117 and 119. No a/c but a box fan. It was only 70°. Enjoyed the breakfast as well. Clean, comfortable, and well priced. Very friendly staff as well. Will definitely stay again on our next stay.

Clean spacious rooms. Comfortable beds & walking distance to the Bay & town businesses​. Clean towels & house keeping was kind in getting everything we needed. The only knock was the parking spaces were a little tight mainly for compact cars. Will recommend & stay again!

We stay here every year for the Avocado Margarita Festival and any time we visit Morro Bay, The staff is top notch and the rooms are awesome. The view of the rock and the bay from the room balcony are unmatched. Thank you Blue Sail for the great 4 day stay.

Nice location, close to the water and shops. Great view of the ocean. Service was also great. Free continental breakfast was good. My suggestion would be to update the rooms, they smell like it's been awhile since they have been painted, etc. Other than that I would stay the next time we come back.

Large rooms. Good staff. Lots of local guides in the room. Free breakfast was pretty decent. Pancakes, bagels, toast, local pastries, hard boiled eggs, bananas, yogurt, coffee, juice. It filled us up!

Great view of the harbour and the Morro Rock by the breakfast room. Good service, room is clean, great area, good price! Definitely check out the Montanna de Oro State Park!

Had the King size, Bay view room. Very clean, staff was incredibly helpful, and the view was incredible. 5/7 would stay again.

My brother reserved a room for him and his wife. When he arrived they had given away his room and were full. My brother said 'I'm pissed ' and the front desk called the police because my brother cursed. Stay away. The police did arrive but once it was explained they didn't do anything.

Horrific. Based on the previous reviews, we were expecting something a little better than the dump we pulled up to. The building was old, which wasn't an issue, but it looked and smelled like it hasn't been remodeled since it was built. Everything in the room was outdated, and there was a persistent musty odor that they tried to cover up with too much cleanser. If you're thinking about staying here, think again. Would not recommend.

Hotel staff's interaction with patrons, especially the front desk, makes or breaks the stay for me. I have little, if any, tolerance for lack of professionalism from any business owner/employee who provides a service for consumers. I treat those who use my services the way I expect to be treated by those providing service for me. Oh, and if you haven't figured it by now, yes, I can be quite anal about this! Right and wrong. Right?! Well, I reserved a room for my wife and me. When we arrived a few days later, we were greeted by the same person who I spoke with to set it up earlier. She was not simply a front desk staff simply doing her job. The word that best describes her demeanor is "genuine". Our room was on the west side of Market St. We had a completely unobstructed view of Embarcadero, the Rock, and the coast in either direction as far as we could see. And although probably against the better wishes of staff, we hand fed a resident gull from the balcony! The sea lions in the bay barking fairly regularly throughout the night was fantastic. Dorn's restaurant is right next door and they will accommodate your wants. You can have it your way! O, the crab omelets! We were just so spoiled! A perfect stay. We will return.
