Stage Coach Lodge was a great “find”. Our room was very lovely and quiet. We were allowed to check in early and the manager was very kind and helpful with a great sense of humor. We send our best wishes for their continued success. We highly recommend.

Had a good time here. Room was clean and there was lots to do around the area.

Fine place to stay the night. However, for the quite high price we paid for 3 adults (500+ $ for 2 nights), the breakfast facilities (the breakfastroom & contents) were poor (No cheese, meat, egg or yoghurt) and Wi-Fi was even better in the middle of the Grand Canyon. Right now, for us price/quality ratio seems out of range here.

Service was wonderful, very helpful and knowledgeable staff. The rooms was comfortable, just let like being at home. Great location and great price. We will be visiting again.

Pleasant surprise for a small place in a small town! Clean. Mattresses and bedding were in good condition, not all worn out and lumpy with no back support like some 5 star hotels have, sometimes. The place didn't smell like cigarette smoke. Reasonably priced. AC units need to be tuned up. Great experience overall.

Hotel located in a residential area. Our stay was quiet and welcoming. The pillows/bed were okay quality. I'd definitely stay there again. Lastly the owner was trying to put in a sweet lighted patio.

Nice hotel with free parking. The area is ruihg and a bit remote. The rooms were clean and cheap. Unfortunately, the television didn't work. Price performance is very good. Can only recommend it.

Good but not faithful to the descriptions. It is not in the center but you have to walk 30m and then the most beautiful part is on the bay.

Stayed here while going to seaotter classic 2018. Loved it super friendly checked in quick no drama. Definitely going back. Very close to food places and freeways.

The motel is located in a quiet semi-residential neighborhood. Our room seems to have been recently renovated. It's near Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf.

Cool lil spot. Breakfast is quick meal but enough for my boys.

What a nice clean place! Aurther the young man at the front desk was so friendly! He gave us some great ideas for dinner, thanks we really enjoyed the pizza! Our nights sleep was so quiet that we were surprised to see the parking lot full in the morning! Breakfast consisted of cereals, toast, sweet rolls and fruit. There was juice and coffee also. There is a small breakfast room or you’re free to take a tray back to your room. All in all we were more than pleased with our stay and figure on returning when we come back to Monterey!

They had solid Wi-Fi, plenty of hot water and shampoo that smelled like papaya. It was a pretty good experience. The beds are a little hard though for you side sleepers.

Beautiful hotel that is amazingly updated with an easy to find location and only. 5 mile walk from the beach. Highly recommended.

A good place to stay… Arthur the front desk guys was a great help. I do recommend this place to stay.

Stayed here to attend a dance festival at the Hyatt Regency. It was very close but we drove to the event as the Hyatt had plenty of guest parking. It took less than 5 minutes to get there and parked. The Stage Coach lodge is not a 5-star hotel like the Hyatt might be, but it was more than adequate and 1/2 the cost. It's quiet, clean, well equipped and everything inside looked new. The room included TV, free Wi-Fi, microwave, refrigerator, and safe. Improvements could be in softer mattresses (I woke up sore every morning), brighter light in the bathroom and more powerful hair dryer. Other than that, it was a perfect, cheaper alternative to being on site at the Hyatt for the dance festival. I will definitely return next year.

Having had the absurd claim to leave San Francisco, visit the Monterey Aquarium and go on to Big Sur, I found myself exhausted to look for a shelter for the night. Too many beautiful things to see and itinerary times completely busted. However, the lodge is a typical American structure, with pretty rooms and little more. Nice and friendly staff, clean place; All good, suitable only for a stopover.

Utmost cordiality, advice on places to visit. Very comfortable and clean room. The room is equipped with Tv, ironing board, safe, kettle, refrigerator and microwave.

The holiday weekend made the hotel cost over $150 which is definitely not worth it. It's basically a motel with a small pool. The breakfast was terrible — I'm surprised no one mentioned this. It was just Froot Loops, Raisin Bran, some pieces of bread and poor quality pastries, and oatmeal. They shouldn't even have a breakfast if that's what it is. Anyway, the place was clean and had a nice looking room. The bed wasn't very comfortable to me — it felt like an old mattress. I wouldn't stay again.

Friendly staff. Room was very clean and well presented. We stayed 3 nights and the room was serviced each day! Kids liked the pool. Great to be able to do our laundry as we are on a 5 week Roadtrip. Breakfast is a grab and go set up, enough for what we wanted. Wi-fi was good. Short walk to the Wharf. We would stay again!

Expensive relative to all other hotels on our so far 2 week trip including cities. Room was comfortable although bath plug hole not working so had shower instead. Breakfast was very very poor: small room, choice of 2 cereals, 3 juices, and either some very sorry old croissants, bread or an uninspiring pastry. No yoghurts, no eggs, no pancakes or waffles. To cap it all, the guy at reception had sports channel on really loud and was glued to it (he should read the notice on the wall about the purpose of him being there). Room had machine with one creamer and 2 decaf coffee bags and 2 tea bags so you need to go to reception which is the breakfast room. Don't usually write poor reviews but this was not good.

Far walking distance from center. Clean but small. No chic at all… breakfast is minimal. Fine for a couple on the roads.

We stayed at the Stage Coach Lodge during Easter weekend. The 2 queen deluxe room was extremely nice with lots of space and a huge TV. My family of 4 had a great time and we loved the lodge offers daily continental breakfast. We would definitely stay here again in the future. The people at the front desk are extremely nice and helpful on whatever your needs are as well as the rest of the staff. We had a wonderful experience while staying here!

Very nice overnight stay, very comfortable and clean in Monterey. Reasonable priced hotel with very nice room and a great staff. Shiv helped with early check-in and gave great advise for first time visitors.

Not a large spacious place. However, the rooms are clean, nicely updated with granite bathrooms, comfortable beds, attractive decor and paint job. The management and staff were very friendly. Wifi and a minimal continental breakfast are included. The location is convenient. There are plusher hotels around, but for the price we paid for our room, this earns 5 stars.

BAD SERVICE! BETTER UNDER AMERICA'S BEST VALUE INN OWNERSHIP! THE NEW OWNERS ARE STINGY WITH CUSTOMERS! Me and my family first stayed here when the place was under America's best value inn and were able to request the late check time of 1PM as opposed to 11AM at no extra charge. The first experience under AVI was great. The last time however was a complete 180 experience. I requested the late check out feature to the owner as I did the first time but after thinking about it, and hesitating, she refused unless we payed $25 extra. In addition, she is so stingy that we were scoffed at after attempting to borrow one of their cheap white towels outside. Customers can't even do that. The pool was closed, seems to never be in operating conditions. Boring bland breakfast available before 9AM. Very bad service from the owner, there are way better hotels elsewhere where customers are appreciated!

My boyfriend & I were on a mini-getaway (Monterey/Carmel/Santa Cruz) from Sunday, July 19th — Wednesday, July 22nd. We stayed at the Stage Coach Lodge only for the night, and were satisfied with our stay. Management treated us very nice, our room was up-to-date and very clean, the location was perfect, and couldn't beat the price! Even though the small swimming pool wasn't working at the time, I still give this place five out of five stars. Would love to come back here!

Pound for pound I thought this hotel did a pretty good job. The bed was comfortable, location quiet and very clean throughout. We found the management to be very nice people too. So for a very decent motel at an excellent rate (Monterey is a very expensive town accommodation wise), I'd definitely recommend it.

We stayed two nights here to explore in the beautiful Monterey area. You get exactly what it says on the can — Good comfortable rooms with modern bathroom facilities plus microwave and fridge. Comfortable beds — quiet location — a little pool if you want to cool off. OK it is a simple continental breakfast to take to your room but better than some 'room only' places. Friendly management and excellent room cleaning service.

We stayed here for Monterey Jazz Festival weekend. Prices go up for that weekend, but this motel was less expensive than the other lodgings we considered. We asked for and received a room with a king bed on the first floor. The room had been recently updated. It was everything a small hotel room should be: It had enough electrical outlets in good locations, a reasonably comfortable king bed, enough pillows, a fridge and microwave, a tub-shower, chairs, a table, etc. Our brief interactions with the staff were pleasant. We deliberately left the "Do not disturb" sign up all weekend and the housekeepers left us alone.
