I didnt stay here but this hotel is a great venue to host a small professional conference up to say 250 people, great location, relatively quiet, beautiful scenery and incredible 10th floor rooftop view where conference dining room was. Decent conference center with two ballrooms and several conference rooms on mezzanine. Nicr local dining options around hotel and much to do. Highly recommend.

I am an Ambassador Elite Member who has stayed at this hotel numerous times. I love the employees in the restaurant who are always kind and provide me with wonderful conversations. The front line reservation staff are always excited to see me and ensure that any needs are met. I have always been given good accommodations and immediate assistance with any concerns. The hotel is a perfect location for exploring Monterrey.

My fiancé and I decided to take a last minute mini vacation and booked this room the night before. The hotel and room were gorgeous and the view from our balcony was absolutely beautiful Definitely recommend!

Clean and comfortable bed. Walking distance to the Wharf (approx. 5mins. ) for outdoor activities and fine dining. Price is at a higher end but worth it. Only valet parking available in this hotel. Be ready to hand tip in & out of the hotel for the attendant.

They had a small mix up with my room. The staff went out of their way to correct the problem immediately as well as provided a beautiful ocean view room, wine and cheese. It was greatly appreciated.

Almost perfect hotel. Great room. Only drawbacks was they only have valet parking and swimming pool is entirely 3.5 feet deep. It’s also heated to a cool temperature that is too cold for me. The swimming pool is why I reserved this hotel plus it’s a Marriott but I sure was let down. Other than the parking and pool, it’s a very nice hotel.

Great location and the rooms and bed are comfortable. The hotel needs to change and go eco-friendly from mini shampoo bottles to using the wall mount shampoo.

Central location you can practically walk to anywhere
The suite is nice and large but need to update and upgrade the TV is small the decor is dated but the most importantly we love the bed and pillows very comfortable and the views amazing!
The service and the friendly staffs make the stay worthwhile.

Great conference site. Great view from the rooftop restaurant. However, conference rooms were too cold during the entire conference. October in Monterey the weather is mild not hot.

This hotel is horrible. It’s the worst I’ve ever stayed at. Was promised a king-sized bed reflected in the reservation and instead I’m in a second floor dump with two twin beds. Marriott is a horrible chain and I hope to never have to stay in one again. Management is rude and unprofessional and I was blamed for the room I’m in because I wasn’t the first guest to check in. Obviously customer service here means nothing. The beds are horribly uncomfortable and the toiletries provided in the bathroom are pathetic. As far as hotels go this one is an abomination.

I love Monterey and this hotel is right in the heart of things! You can walk to the pier or shopping right downtown! Great food too!

Wonderful hotel and super friendly staff!

This Marriott and it’s staff went above and beyond during my stay recently! Everyone we came in contact with was great, the rooms were very nice, cleaning staff did a great job, every employee spoke to me each time I walked by! And Emily at the front desk is so amazing, she really went above and beyond making my stay for my Master’s graduation so special with an unexpected hand written card of congratulations! If you are heading to Monterey this Marriott is the perfect place to stay! I hope to be back to stay at some point myself!

It was an amazing stay in Marriot Monterey. All the staff was friendly, accommodating and happy people… I definitely recommend it with some of my friends who would love to visit the place.

This hotel is in the perfect location. Walking distance to great restaurants and the fishermen's wharf. The staff is friendly and the rooms are beautiful and very clean. The buffet breakfast is amazing. They even bring in fresh donuts from the local donut shop (Reds) every day! They are delicious.

Great place to stay when visiting. Very close to the wharf and walkable to other attractions. You can walk a mile to the aquarium or jump in a quick ride share for about 6 bucks. The hotel is in the little older side for some rooms but the staff is extremely friendly. Valet is $25 (at the time of review) and seemed reasonable for how busy they were this holiday. Though the price gouging wasn't so great. The breakfast buffest was awesome with an omelette and waffle station, definitely one of the best to go to in the US.

Great hotel with great service, the room we had could do with an update, it was a little dated. But overall it was still a great comfortable night. The view from the balcony was amazing and you can see the fog invade and leave the bay again. Located in a very central part of Monterrey you can easily walk to the wharf and a large selection of restaurants.

This is probably the best hotel in Monterey. I loved the rooms and the breakfast. I did not like the fact that there isn't complementary bottled water. I take away one star just for this. Super close to the wharf and some good food joints nearby. The location is a win. Minor limitation: lacking in toiletries.

Went to the breakfast buffet. It was awesome, plenty of selections and food was hot and tasted great. Would recommend it especially to the locals.

Our room was very clean and the beds and linens were exceptionally comfortable. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. You can valet park for $25, but they also recommended a public garage $7 or on-street parking overnight for free. Can't beat the location — short walk to the wharf, free trolley pick-up location right next to the hotel. We will stay here again.

Great place at an amazing location. The food was amazing and ambiance was spot on. Parking is scarce unless you Valet so be careful following the hour time limit.

Emily the manager is great! She is super friendly. Her customer service is top notch. She is the reason for the 5 star rating. The room was a bit on the small side, but met our needs. It was clean and nicely furnished. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Monterey.

The rooms (we had 2 ~ family), staff and service were all exceptional. Oh — but the view of the bay! Heaven sent. A big shout our to the hard working staff at this beautiful landmark. Thank you for a great stay!

A great hotel in a wonderful location in Monterey. What made our stay special was Isabella at the front desk who sent up a very nice gift bucket from the hotel after learning it was our son's first birthday. The buffet breakfast was tasty.

Great Marriott experience in the city center by the Fisherman's wharf.

Definitely the quality you'd expect from a Marriott corporate hotel. If you're an Elite gold member, breakfast is free and it's actually worth the money you pay otherwise. Best hotel breakfast I've had. The gym is also very nice and well equiped for a hotel. There is not any free parking, realistically, so be ready for the valet fee.

Clean and elegant, but the parking is a little hard.

I came for conference and enjoyed my time tremendously. They did very well with the menu because my organization way very picky about foods (some gluten free, vegan, special oils with. ) They took the challenge and the F&B performence was fantastic. Very comfy beds, clean, well lit and close to all day parking garages.

Such a great hotel! Everyone is so willing to help in anyway they can. And even gave us umbrellas to borrow in the rain storm. And the rooms are very big and bed are great! Awesome view of the beach and walking distance to the shops and restaurants.

Every staff members I ran into are extremely nice. Bellmen open the door for us and immediately went to help someone else before we can possibly tip them, front desk is helpful and resourceful. They made my trip so nice that I forgot to pay attention to how old the hotel was or any hardware issues.

Great experience from the food to the cleanliness of the facilities. What made my experience memorable was Richard who greeted guests in the lobby. He should be the standard for hotel staff across all Marriott's. His engaging smile and personal interactions made an otherwise long couple days for me a bit lighter. I will stay here again if I'm in the area and I hope either he or someone he trains is there to greet me.

I come once a year on business and it's lovely. Close to the beach and the wharf, and all the good things Monterey has to offer, like clam chowder! There are a few areas where they are obviously trying to save money, like room service — — where you have to go down and pick it up or pay a $5 fee for delivery. But the hotel is clean, the service is friendly, and it's a relaxing and enjoyable place to stay. No complaints, definitely recommended.

The staff was amazing! They found out it was our anniversary and sent champagne up to the room, many of the staff engaged us at every turn. I sleep in hotels 40-50 nights a year and feel the Monterey Marriott is a special place. I highly recommend staying here.

The hotel is old and dirty. I had No service in the pool. The pool area was super dirty. The water has a very bad taste, chlorine. We had to buy Água mineral to brush our teeth. Terrible and super expensive.

Stayed two nights at the Monterey Marriott for a meeting. Convenient location downtown. Friendly, helpful staff. Beds too soft. Bathrooms poorly designed! Toilet in a narrow cramped area, next to the shower. Low enough for a five year old, not for someone in their 80's. Convention center accessible by steep steps, again a problem for seniors. The Monterey Hyatt was less expensive, with better rooms.

The carpet in the rooms are very dated and the furnitures are very old. The light fixtures are very old and the bathroom is dirty and greasy. The TV is only 27 inches, not the usual 46 inches. The air conditioning is not working too well; either heating or cooling. As a platinum elite member, this hotel does not even come close to the same level as other Marriott hotels that I have been to; more like a courtyard or spring hill suites or lower. The pictures from the Marriott website is very misleading. It does not have a Marriott lounge for elite members nor does it have a grand lobby, not very impressive at all and I’m very disappointed! Marriott should put some money into updating the property because the location is excellent and the views are spectacular when you are facing the bay.

Service was wonderful. Front desk personal are great. Housekeeping was great. Restaurant could do a little better but it was Christmas so maybe it wasn't the A shift. Seriously, everyone there is so friendly.

We had a very good experience here. The staff was helpful and friendly, our room was in great condition with a nice view of the Bay and the buffet breakfast was fantastic. Definitely will return here in the future.

The service we received was great and the lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The room was clean and spacious, although the interior decor was slightly outdated (especially the TV). My biggest complaint is with the bathroom. The water pressure was terribly weak and would feel simultaneously too cool and hot due to the difference in pressure from the shower head. There was also a large hole in the glass wall. At first I thought it was cool because you were able to hang towels from there, but it was unpleasant to shower next to the hole because cold air would blow in. Hairdryer had good power and there was a plug-in vanity mirror with different light settings to check your makeup. Free instant coffee provided in the room, but no free water. No slippers or robes provided. The bed had a comfortable mattress pad but the sheets were not as soft as I would've liked, although still serviceable. There is no free parking on-site, only valet ($25) so I opted to park in a nearby public lot ($7 all day). The hotel is decent location-wise; you can take a trolley to Cannery Row or walk along the water past Fisherman's Wharf to get there.

I was here for a conference. The place is beautiful and the attention of the staff excellent.

The staff has been super friendly and the location is really good as well. You can get to the wharf and eating spots quite easily. The only reason for knocking one star off is due to the rooms being a bit dated.

This is the hotel that all the conferences are held at. The hotel is clean and modern, the valet staff was very attentive when you arrive (no parking in the area — so this is important), and the front desk staff gave a small stuffed animal to my baby girl! The buffet breakfast is pretty decent with fresh made omelet bar. This is 1 block from the beach.

Feeling compelled to write a positive review about what awesome customer service looks like. I stayed at the Monterey Marriot a few weeks back with my girlfriend, upon arrival we were told that the water was unavailable between 10pm — 5am… I was shocked to say the least but it was affecting the whole area. A lovely lady called Emily offered us a variety of options, such as another hotel, dinner on the house, she went beyond her way. In the end, she was able to discount our rate a lot for our hassle and gave us a drink at the bar. Thanks a lot!

Best hotel breakfast I've ever experienced and oatmeal accoutrements were amazing. However, the room service was less than desirable. The Brioche with White Cheddar was made with American Cheese and the Kale Salad was only romaine lettuce.

Fine hotel — needs an update — and a great location but highly overpriced. Not having a club lounge is a huge problem. All I want is a comfortable bed, quiet room, and a good coffee in the morning. Having to walk across the street to Starbucks isn't what I had in mind.

Staff is very helpful and friendly. Nice sized and updated rooms. Great location! Enjoyed the pool, hot tub and outdoor lounge area. Gym looks nice but I did not use it.

Overall nice experience! Beautiful lobby and good bar. Nice rooms. Showerhead was kinda meh on water pressure which is important to me. Great service all around but severely lacked on the valet service. Didn't really have a system going and people running it seemed inept.

Good bedding, decent rooms, good parking — reasonably priced valet. They don't treat gold elites well, tried to put us in a partial water view room, we had paid for bay view, with a wobbly toilet, had to move rooms after some convincing. They should look after their loyal gold elites better.

This hotel is really noisy. You can hear every conversation in the hallway and the doors slam so hard to each room that our bed actually shakes. We can hear our neighbors using the toilet (eww). We have a room on the third floor overlooking the pool and the noise is constant until late at night. The windows provide little insulation. I can't recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a relaxing vacation. But, if noise doesn't bother you, it might be for you. The location is excellent.

The staff were great. The hotel was maintained well but the building itself was old. The bathrooms were small, the water pressure and temperature were variable, and the walls were thin. Overall, my party had a great stay there and it's as good as you'd expect of a hotel in the area.

Very unimpressed! Rooms were small and the bathroom setup was really different, this is kind of weird but the toilet paper roll was broken and the roll ended up on the floor. They had complimentary coffee in the room but none in the lobby. Great location but you would think the parking would have been complimentary as well! I would have given 1 star but the workers were friendly.

Only stayed one night but the service was great. The room was very nice and well taken care of. We were only on the 2nd floor but still had a good view of the ocean. Oh yeah and breakfast was delicious!

Everyone was helpful and kind. Check in was not only easy but quick. We traveled several hours by car w/kids, and we needed a room pronto — no problem. Good central location.

Hotel was clean and our room was very spacious with one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in.
We were very stressed on arrival as we had booked at a hotel across the road but as they had a conference on they decided to give our room to a delegate and move us to The Marriott without even asking us! Chris on reception was very understanding and made us welcome. He even went the extra mile and sent chocolate covered strawberries to our room.
All the staff were friendly and very efficient.
Only disappointment was limited menu choice… although what I had was good.
Hotel is close to Fisherman's Wharf and in walking distance from Cannery Row.

It was an older remodeled hotel that had a nice lobby, pool, jacuzzi, gym, and a restaurant inside the lobby. Valet parking and polite employees. The rooms were clean with only a view of the pool on our side of the building. The windows were single pane so I always thought they were open due to the noise from the swimmers at the pool. Refrigerators, coffee pot, and great tiled shower. Lovely walk down at the wharf.

Very clean and well placed hotel with good amenities. They nickel and dime you if you're not an elite Marriott member with pricey Wi-Fi and parking.

This hotel is beautiful. It's in a great location, and the service is excellent. The Upgraded breakfast is good, if you can swing a special price for it.

The hotel is hard to miss. We pulled up and the valets immediately assisted us. We chose to valet the car which was $25/day with in and out privileges (there's a number you can call from your room to have your car brought around). We used Mobile check-in and the staff was friendly.

Clean but everything is extra, room was hit and wouldn't cool down and the ice machine onnour floor was broken.

We always stay at Marriott and the one in Moterey didn't disappoint. This location is close enough that you can walk to many things or drive for 5-10 minutes and get to everything else that you want to see. We enjoyed our stay here, the hotel was clean and the staff was nice.

Great location walking distance to the warf, rooms were big and clean. The receptionists asked why we were there and stated for our son's 4th birthday. That night we received cookies and milk. Over all a great experience and I would highly recommend it.

Great location, but the hotel is kind of out dated. I lived in Monterey in 1991 and the hotel looks almost the same as it did back then. Staff was friendly and works hard to make sure you are happy!

We enjoyed our stay at the Monterey Marriott! It is within walking distance to many restaurants, pubs and the fitness trail around the bay. Our room was very comfortable and the staff very helpful and friendly. This was our third stay at this hotel and we will come back again.

The Monterey Marriott was very nice. My girlfriend and I stayed only one night for new years, but it was very comfortable, clean and was in a very nice and interesting part of town. I think of you want to stay in a place near a lot of fun stuff to do, this place is ideal.

Simply put, everything is perfect but Wi-Fi access. I paid money to access internet but the speed is only faster than bike.

The room was very nice and well kept. And the hotel staff is very friendly! I don't think there is free parking. It appears to be either street parking or valet. The hotel itself is pretty centrally located. Across the street from the convention center, down the street from cannery row, and a few blocks from the beach. And if the girl at the coffee bar is too busy on her phone to notice you're there, a Starbucks and a local cafe are a short walk away.

Bad quality… Only care about profit. Everything needs to pay 1) Bad customer service and organization a) Took 1 hour to get our luggage to our room, we had to call the guest service for 4 times! b) Very impolite service, it seem like they don't even care 1) Bad quality Room a) Room much worst than the description (old, small, horrible electronics) b) The room is filled with moisture, and badly done 2) Overpriced a) Cost 300$ per night and much worst than the 200$ hotel in Monterey 3) Wifi that cost 14.95$/day, only 50 Mbps.

Parking here is kind of a nightmare you can either park down the street two blocks away at a cost of 7 bucks or you can fork up the 24 dollars for valet parking. Every time u call for your car then return it's another 24 dollars. Don't be surprised if the valet asks if you are "going to be going in and out". God forbid u need your own car when you need it to get around town. Your car is basically incarcerated for the time u stay here you can get visitation privileges but it will cost you 24 more dollars. Normal humans are not allowed in the underground hotel parking area. This place is ok but I will not never stay here again, aside from the lack of free parking there is something about this place feels eerie and lonely like there is something missing I can't really describe it. The whole place is also a bit of maze to navigate, the gym is ok, machines are ok, lighting in the weight room is harsh on morning eyes. The hotel is close to downtown which is great but the smokers mill around like junkies looking for an angry fix just outside the hotel entrance same for the corner sports bar entrance. My advise you can do better than this place I say go for the boutique hotels around town if u can find one that's nice.

Spend the extra few bucks, 15 maybe 20. The stay, comfort, room service, amenities and being treated like a king are worth every penny. This hotel is gorgeous, perfect and amazing staff. Thanks so much to everyone and everything that made this trip so fantastic.

For a 3.5 star hotel, this hotel was really nice. Book hotel one to two months in advance. The hotel has 10 floors, and a outdoor pool, hot tub, spa, and fitness area in the center of the hotel.

We brought the family here for a visit to the coast, aquarium, sights on cannery row, bike rental, and 2 days, 1 night of fun. We got a good deal on price line, the staff spent 10 minutes to get us 2 adjacent rooms even though we checked in early so only one room was ready. We spent the day about town and when we came back the second room was ready. Kids had a blast in the pool and huge hot tub was thankfully not very busy. Sufficient clean fresh towels to dry off. Starbucks across the street was fantastic and even remade our hot chocolate when one of us accidentally spilled it. We have free Wi-Fi and breakfast buffet as part of our Marriott rewards program. I like that I can plug the ipad into the "Multimedia dock" they supply and listen to pandora out the TV speakers. The location is primo for walking down to the wharf and the aquarium at the other end of the row is a wonderful scenic 30 minute walk with lots to stop and see on the way. Not sure about the breakfast buffet as it's still night.

Friendliest staff I have seen in a decade. Wi-fi was included in the conference fee, but I can understand why others would be frustrated; the network asked me for three different prices over the week. Breakfast buffet was typical for a hotel. I did not eat many meals in the hotel, Monterey has tons of fun restaurants and the hotel location right in the middle of them. I did order from room service once and was able to order brown rice, vegetables, fish with two lemon slides even though it was not on the menu. There actually are stairs, but they are on the ends, not near the elevators. Our room was on a newly refurbished floor. Room rate was 149.00.
