The hotel is very nice. It is in a great location, with places to eat, attractions and shopping all in walking distance. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and designed to impress. The beds were comfortable, I like pillows and. There were plenty. The heated pool was great for the kids. Parking however was terrible. The lot was very small and large vehicles dominated a lot of the space. They charge $15 but cannot guarantee that you will be able to park on the property. I think an in-room microwave would have been nice, but you have to walk to the lobby. And a hot tub for grown ups to enjoy. I liked the stay overall.

Rooms are very good size and clean. Front desk service could be better but overall the staff seemed helpful. Parking is very tight and $15 a night. Anything larger than a f150 is probably not going to fit in their lot. The location is within walking g distance of down town and fisherman's wharf. A short shuttle ride can get you to the aquarium and cannery row. This is one of my top 10 places to stay in Monterey.

Enjoyed our stay here. Great location, very friendly staff and 24 hour front desk. Clean rooms and a comfortable bed made this place even better.

Noisy. Avoid. Hardwood floors mean you hear EVERYTHING from adjoining rooms. When your neighbours use the bathroom it sounds like they are in your room with you! You can hear a conversation going on in the next room quite clearly. And to top it all off some sadist left the alarm in our room set active for 6am Classic case of design over function. Worst night sleep of our honeymoon and this was our last night — we chose this place to treat ourselves Very very disappointed. Expensive hotel which fails to deliver the main thing you want — sleep!

Lovely stay at Casa Munraswhen I came to Monterey for memorial service for a family member. Location was great. Room was spacious, well appointed, and quiet. Toured spa but they were closing. It too was quiet & well-appointed. Would have loved to take off chill when I arrived, but couldn't work fireplace. Could have called front desk, but was too tired. Mattress was heavenly. Would recommend even though building exteriors aren't impressive, you'll be pleased.

Rooms were nice, if a bit dated. One of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever been in. The room was quite large. It was a little unfortunate being placed on the second floor to drag a stroller up stairs (no elevators as far as we could tell). The neighborhood is a bit rough. Lots of homeless encampments nearby.

The spa massage was an incredible experience. The rooms were not the best. There is no ventilation in the bathrooms which caused our room to be damp smelling and the main room windows were wet. Would not stay there again.

This is a nice "garden style" hotel. The rooms are nice, clean, and comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The on site restaurant is very good and has a nice outside seating area too.

Have chosen the hotel as a stopover on our trip from San Francisco to L. A. And were really happy about it. A really quiet resort, with small pool. The rooms are not very large, but they are perfect for a short stay of 1-2 days.
The food in the restaurant we can really recommend! I had a lamb burger with brie and spinach and that was bomb!

Excellent location in downtown Monterrey. Nice outdoor heated pool. Even when temps were in the 50s. Huge TV in room. The rooms were slightly dated, and the door knobs seemed flimsy and insecure.

For the location of this place, the price was good. Had to wait about 15 minutes to get checked in though with only one front desk person staffed. Good experience once he got to us though. The grounds are clean and the pool looks nice. There are very few ice machines and not many vending machines. Now for the room: we had a two queen room which was quite nice (average layout, nothing special there). The beds were lumpy though. The general maintenance items that need attention are what garnered the 3 start review. There was a drawer in the dresser that would not stay closed — I had to stuff napkins in it to keep it from opening. The TV channel listing was very inaccurate. The bathroom door lock would unlock when you attempted to open the door from the outside. Finally, the hot water was too hot — seems like it would be a legal risk for the property to leave it so hot; it could stand to be lowered to limit the chance of injury. Otherwise if you aren't too picky — for the price, the location it great and worth the spend (less than $160/night).

I had the suite it was nice and pretty decently priced however the suite didn't have a microwave, something I could have used! Also whenever we tried having dinner at the restaurant we asked to be seated outside (Where it was empty) and they still said 25 min wait. What?! Other than those few things, stay was good. Bed was comfy, room was renovated.

This place looked great online but it was a disaster. The room was nice, clean, didn't smell, but the beds were horrible. It was like trying sleep in a giant hole or a really folded up hammock. We called ahead a few days to mention that we were bringing our service dog so they placed us in the pet section of the hotel which isn't legal btw. We had to listen to people's dogs bark all night and in the morning before check out so we barely slept. Also, the parking was first come, first serve, so we had to park really far from our room and drag our stuff there with no help from the hotel or a cart or anything. The restaurant was also a nightmare. The mood there was awesome and the food looked great on the menu but it was not authentic Spanish food at all. We were there for over an hour with almost no service so we left without eating and had to find another restaurant open which was tough. Won't stay there again and def won't recommend it.

The spa service was barely ok, the sea escape package was below expectations — the massage was lacking and didn't address the issues I informed the therapist of and the facial was not customized — just a series of products. My husband got the "deep tissue" massage but it was not deep tissue. The hotel was clean and the spa area was really nice even if the quality of services were not.

I stayed here over Christmas weekend (2017) and had an excellent stay. The room was clean and had a has fireplace which really cranks out the heat. The hotel and restaurant staff were very polite and helpful. I also had a massage at the day spa which was an overall good experience. My only complaint was that my masseuse didn't really put much effort into my massage and seemed as if she didn't want to be there. Otherwise, I had a great time and I recommend this hotel if you are ever staying in Monterey.

Enjoyed a cozy 1 night stay when we were in the area on business. A fair price for the accommodations. The spa is quite small, but had an outdoor hot tub & fire pit. The attendant looked after us well. The bed linens we're really nice and the bathroom is big. The air unit seemed to make more noise then necessary. Very convenient location, within walking distance to the coffee shop and grocery store. Overall we had a decent stay.

I had good weather pasiar in Monterey and at the hotel with my family.

Clean, quiet place. There is the restaurant in the main wing where you can go to eat. It is located where you go to check in. Particular place.

I've stayed here a few times in the past 6 years. It can be a little pricey but they often advertise deals. It is totally worth it with a discount. The rooms are clean and modern, and the beds are consistently comfortable. The attached restaurant is unique and delicious.

We have been very comfortable, the hotel was clean, the beds huge and the pillows were comfortable!

Roomy comfortable ask for a room with a private balcony. It is in the downtown area not on the beach. The pool is outdoor and warm. The restaurant and outdoor seating next to the fire relaxing. We enjoyed our stay.

I really like this place! We stayed here three nights and we were very surprised at the quality of the place. The room was well appointed and was very cozy. I will go back here.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful grounds. The rooms were very clean and the bath products were fantastic. Nice big rooms with A. C. Units that get the rooms nice and cold. The bed was really comfortable with large down pillows. We didn't experience any noise issues and we weren't that far from the street. The spa was great and the prices were pretty reasonable! I definitely recommend the Coconut and Lime exfoliating massage, it was half full body massage, half body polish. The Fisherman's Wharf was easy walking distance even for me with my multiple disabilities. A more able bodied person could probably walk to Cannery Row if they wanted. All in all we loved this hotel and will be staying here again!

The rooms are very nice! The bath products are also great. The selection at the front office store is minimal and the website advertises that there is coffee in the front lobby. I did not see any when I looked.

Everything here is so beautiful. The scenery, the big comfortable beds, the room decorations, bathroom fixtures, the rose they made out if Kleenex in to of the dispenser etc. I can tell this hotel takes pride in staying updated and looking it's best while maintaining the traditional feel of historic Monterey. The Wi-Fi here is solid, the crew at the front desk was super helpful, and the room I received for my stay was immaculate.

This is a quaint place to stay and it isn't too far from downtown and the wharf. There are spa services and a pool, as well as a gym. There is also a Spanish restaurant, serving tapas called Estebans on site, which is delicious! The restaurant is a little on the pricey side but worth it. The room was clean and comfortable, but there were random moths in the room and one random big spider. I think the critters come in because of the natural setting and all the trees on the property. In any case, it was a good stay overall.

My family stays here whenever we are in Monterey. Property is dog friendly and we'll maintained. Great location close to wharf and shuttles to Cannery Row and the aquarium. Some suites have a nice gas fireplace. Bike rentals are available on site. Don't forget to snag a couple chocolate chip cookies in the lobby before bed or breakfast.

Have stayed here several times over the last thirty years. Would Highly recommend. Can't really say enough positives about the establishment as a whole. Everything here is excellent. Even though it's about a six or seven block walk to fisherman's wharf, this site is ideally located. Just a ways off the beaten path, no touristy traffic. Ask for one of the newly renovated rooms in the "200" block range. Second floor. Very quiet site overall. Nice pool, spa and overall atmosphere. Would most certainly return and would highly recommend.!

Very homely feeling with relaxed bar/restaurant area. Room was comfortable plenty of room for a family. Recommend the waffles.

Cannot find any hotel better than this. Great service, great restaurant in the hotel… you can even hear the seals at night when you are outside.

Location was very nice as it was located next to a good selection of restaurants, all walkable distance. I especially like how near it was to a Trader Joe's! Room was really great, in all honesty. We stayed on the third floor at the northwest corner the building. Great little view the corner of Abrego and Fremont streets. Overall our stay was very comfortable and relaxed. Great spot!

Hotel was very nice. The rooms were clean and updated. Construction was happening within the hotel but we didn't hear it at all nor did it take away from the experience. There was adequate parking. The front desk staff was courteous and the maid staff extremely helpful. The hotel didn't offer a continental breakfast but had a restaurant on site. We ate breakfast here and we're pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Everything was tasty and the kids portion of pancakes were generous. The hotel was an easy walk to Alvarado street with lots of restaurants and just a slightly longer walk to Fisherman's Wharf. Overall our experience was excellent and we would stay here again.

Beautiful, comfortable rooms with several convenient features like easy to adjust thermostat, a ceiling fan, and a very quiet bathroom fan. The location is perfect for wandering down to the wharf or Cannery Row, with the peace and quiet of relative solitude compared to other hotels we walked by. The staff were very helpful and thoughtful, such as our room service people providing extra coffee pods for the next morning when they saw we used both they had provided. The front desk also has delicious flavored water available, as well as cookies in the afternoon. They are happy to answer your questions, and always making sure you are well taken care of! Nice warm welcoming atmosphere and room. I liked the little fireplace in the room. Yet, was a little disappointed that they didn't have air conditioning. Otherwise it is a fine establishment.

The hotel is just lovely! The rooms are modern and tastefully decorated. The two front desk clerks are very pleasant. There is ample parking and we are less than 5 minutes away from all of the tourist attractions and great shopping. We will stay here every time we come back moving forward.

My wife and I stayed here for our 3 year anniversary. We had a great room with a fireplace and a little sitting deck over looking the pool. Bathroom was really nice, large walk-in shower and a rain head. Overall just great, clean, and comfortable. The restaurant was nice but small, great for a glass a wine and breakfast was nice in the morning if maybe a bit over priced for the quality. Overall we loved it and will stay again.

I would give negative stars if I could. This place charges hotel rates for motel amenities. My "Queen" room is the size of a college dorm. Upon entering, the stale air smothers you. They must've had complaints because an air filter is provided. The bathroom doesn't include a bathtub, just cracked linoleum floors and a shower. This place is so disappointing it hurts. My spouse and I drove 4 hours through traffic and I was looking forward to crashing into a nice bed and taking a warm bath. This is an extreme letdown. For these prices, you should get a place you want to come back to after a long day. Instead, you have to fight for parking and sit in a dingy room. I'm so sorry I'm staying more than one night here. What a nightmare. Btw: there is nothing "pet-friendly" about this hotel. You pay $50 dollars for the privilege of having your dog on the grounds. Beyond that, they offer you nothing. Don't be fooled by the pretty pictures on the website, go to a real hotel.

My wife and I checked in with our 3 year old daughter and we're given a 'cozy queen' which was really small, I asked for a bigger room and the front desk was very nice and understanding. We ended up in a larger room with a king bed which is perfect for us. The hotel overall is nice and clean, the layout is not conducive for the quietest stay, but so far so good.

Rooms were clean, asides from finding a dead ant under the covers. Aquarium tickets were discounted if you buy from the lobby. They gave us a $20 voucher for breakfast that came with the room but the restaurant had mediocre reviews so we walked to cafe Trieste, and it was awesome! I would park here and uber to your destinations.

Nice wood floors, granite sink, modern bathroom, in-room safe & fridge, parkings in front of rooms, 20+mins walk to Fisherman wharf, 40mins walk to Aquarium, offers discount Monterey Bay Aquarium tickets. Very weak internet though.

There was construction near our room but it in no way bothered us. The room we stayed in had been renovated, it looked very nice and was also very cozy. The bedding, and pillows were comfortable. This has come to be our favorite place to stay while visiting Monterey Bay.

YUCK… BED BUGS and the staff didn't seem alarmed. I do not recommend sleeping at this hotel. It looks good the restaurant and spa are very good.

The hotel was absolutely adorable. Very clean, warm and inviting. I wish we had a room like that for each leg of our trip. There was construction at the hotel but it didn't bother us, aside from causing us to park further from our room. It's more of a motel feel, where the rooms all have outside access but don't let that prevent you from staying. I would recommend this to anyone.

Nice staff. Great location: easy walking distance to food and shops, and convenient for Laguna Seca. On the negative: bad bed (way too soft), noisy room with original 1-pane windows. Any noise in parking lot or other rooms can be heard. I may stay again if I get an updated room.
