Room is big enough, bathroom smells a little weird, might be the Clorox. But both were clean when I got in the bed is comfortable and the breakfast like all quality inns have a good standard. For 2 nights a very good price to stay in Monterey again. Fridge and microwave are also included which is perfect because you can buy your food just across the street.

This Econo Lodge needs to be demolished. This building is in a sad state of affairs.

Scam! do not stay here. Me and my boyfriend wanted to stay Friday — Sunday. We live in Sacramento and it was our first time. We show up the girl had a horrible adittude! We go to our room which is right next to a bunch of drug addicts screaming at their crying baby. We also loved the leaking fridge, dirty bath, and all the old dirty mattresses and other furniture laying outside covering the whole side of the right side parking lot! We immediately called her and informed her we only wanted to stay a night she said no problem we only charged you 166.89 for the first night. The next day my boyfriend looked at his balance and he had a little over 450 so we went to cannery row to shop. We buy one thing and his balance is 13 dallors. We go to the hotel and this time it's a guy probably in his early 20s we tell him what's going on (we had not only got billed for a second night but also a third! ) 2 payments of 201 and some cents! He said it was weird and that he refunded us but he was only mentioning one payment. He says oh that's just the bank (I knew he was lying) but when my boyfriend asked why their was over 403 dallors missing form his account he smiled and said "idk that's weird I see what you mean". Long story short we had to ask his mom to money order us 50 so we could get home and when we explained we had no gas to get home he gasped, covered his face and smiled!

Hotel was clean. Staff was awesome. And thier coffee and breakfast was really good. Thank you to all of the staff for making our stay fun and easy.

Room smelled like cleanser and diapers. Fridge and coffee pot worked well. Breakfast was all starches, no hot food. Our bathroom had a view of ocean.

Was hoping for much better. Will avoid in the future. 1 night, 1 King bed. Room had a hair tonic pervasive stench and was unable to rid with the window open for hours. The only chair in the room was the the toilet. Cable TV worked yet was set to small screen viewing on a small Samsung HD monitor. Padded ottoman and night stands provided optimal seating. Bed was comfortable, until piercing noise came as the fridge kicked in all night, finally unplugged. Bathroom OK. Cracked countertop, but clean. Noisy walls. Did not sleep well. 1st and last time with Econo Lodge. Avoid.

This is a small, simple, clean, well staffed hotel at a very affordable price! The management is kind and organized and they seem to communicate well with their staff. The housekeeping staff is very honest. One of our group forgot their wallet on the shelf, next to the tip and we came back to find both untouched.

The rooms appeared to us frumpy and dark, the cleanliness could have been better, in the bathroom came the shower from a hole in the wall, the beds were comfortable, the staff very friendly and the breakfast American.

Nice lodge that has smoking rooms. Nice to have a choice for a group. Parking is very close to room, but not crammed. Easy in and out and close to everything. Breakfast is better than most budget hotels. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Would stay here just for the smoking rooms but nice to get the full package for very reasonable rate.

The price is great and the rooms are very nice.

For starters, the bottom sheet feels like sandpaper and they request a deposit that is refundable but you don’t get back and you say about the problems you had from some others arguing for 2-3 hours and now you lost all that sleep, all they say is, “sorry! ” I know they can’t control the customers but they can do something about it after the complaint! But the main thing is, we want our deposit back!

An affordable price, and a decent room the location is a bit of a challenge to enter if you're traveling north on Fremont.

The room was somewhat better than what you'd expect for the price. Breakfast was just right (waffles, muffins, cereal, juice, coffee, etc). The beds were a little hard. The room was really quiet despite being very close to the highway. After checking in and getting settled, Jasmine called up to make sure everything was acceptable. We were very happy with our stay overall.

I really enjoy staying their it is very quiet and the room is so clean and neat if I could live their I would 5 stars and the staff is so nice.

Staff was very nice, especially the night shift guy. If you're looking for a place to just lay your head down at night, it's comfortable enough. Room and bathroom were clean which is important. No AC in rooms, but there are boxed fans which is nice. Rooms could really use some updating and upgrading to more modern decor. Their logo may have evolved but their rooms haven't. Breakfast was okay. Nothing special but it had the basics which is all that matters. Wouldn't necessarily be the first place I'd recommend to others though.

Spend the extra money and stay somewhere else. Despite checking in at 7:00 PM, our room had not been cleaned and there was no housekeeping staff on site. We were asked to wait in our car while the front desk associate cleaned the room since the hotel was 'booked' for the night (there were very few cars in the lot). We ended up canceling our reservation and settling in at the Comfort Inn just down the street.

Service staff was very nice and friendly and helped with all needs. Rooms don't have a. C. But they do have a box fan to ventilate the room. I actually paid less here than magic carpet and left the magic carpet because it had a smell of marijuana in the room. They serve a continental breakfast in the morning and it really helps given that everything in this city is pricy for tourist. I paid a flat 214$ and got the room from just calling the office. I would recommend this place considering that I saved money and felt comfortable in my overnight stay with two queen beds and a breakfast, also free parking.

Easy to find decent location. Close by to stores. Decent price and staff was friendly. Curtains, which were new, had a funny smell but nothing just opening my window to view out towards the ocean couldn't fix.

Small clean rooms. However the website said it had air conditioning… I don't think a box fan qualifies for that.

Well I visited a friend in one of the rooms there and its a little shabby especially the Venetian blinds all messed up compromising privacy. And ceiling lite removed looks like an electrical short by the burnt black streak. Room comfortable and Cable Sucks. But would be fair and Comfortable place for a few days respite.

Internet is terrible basically nonexistent.

Pretty nice hotel with all the amenities nearby (laundry bank and premises to eat). For a couple of nights it's ok.

The building smelled terrible, this is probably due to the gross smelling cleaner that they used… I should know because a staff member accidentally sprayed me in the face with it as I was climbing the stairs to my room. The breakfast was NOT good, they had the same 3 options everyday: dry muffins, ego waffles, and cereal. There was no air conditioning and the only way to cool our room was to open the door which was located on the very busy street. Also, they still have tube T. V. S… Wow… Honestly the staff was friendly, but you could do a lot better for the price.

It was fine. Happen to be there during a blackout so had no electricity in the morning.

We booked this motel based on the positive reviews but was very disappointed to find out the place is not as nice as we'd thought (based on the pics). The patio they present on their website is right at the parking lot and there is NO VIEW! We spent over $110 for two and felt like we've been shafted: not a good value! It's a Korean owned but managed by a couple of Filipinos (the entire motel is run two person. So don't expect great service). The continental breakfast was a sham. Here's what you'd expect: some old breads, muffins, and Hi-C orange drink (not orange juice! ). Yes there was coffee but expect the worst kind. Parking was OK but downstairs rooms are right at the parking space. So if someone with a diesel truck leaves early in the morning, be warned that you may have an unwanted wake up call — by the engine noise! I have now stopped believing all those seemingly self-promoted 'reviews' seen here for this establishment. Save your money and check around a bit more. There are better deals in the area.
