This place is beautiful. We came for dinner, and the outdoor seating arrangements are absolutely gorgeous. The lights in the garden created a magical setting, and the heaters keep you plenty warm. The staff was very kind, accommodating, friendly, I can’t say enough good things. The food is excellent, everything was delicious. 10/10 recommend.

We had dinner tonight and it was lovely. Food was great, actually a bit more than great, the service was A1. All In all a nice evening. It was nice sitting outside with the heaters. It was warm and the spacing from other guests made it nice. Even when this horrible Covid we’re going through is over I think you should your patio with the heaters and fairy lights going. Sitting out there made it a really special evening along with everything else that was so nice. Thank you.

Heard this was a nice place so tried it out for Valentine's. Love that it is pet friendly and they don't just have amenities in the room for guests but for your pet too. Ate at the restaurant on site for dinner. AMAZING food! We will be coming back!

This has been a great experience. The staff (people charged with making memorable moments) are wonderful. I recommend skipping the dining room and dining in the bar… it was better and so good!

We have been coming here for the last 10 years. We love everything LRI has to offer. The ocean view from our deck just outside our suite is breath taking! Our suite has all the amenities one could enjoy. From hot tub on deck to spa bath, to fireplace and much more.
The restaurant serves the most special meals, elegant and most delicious. The landscaping is beautiful with tennis courts and a golf course. The spa and yarn shop added a nice touch! Check in was exceptional nice, quick and easy.

This is a wonderful little hotel on the coast. The rooms are simple, clean, and spacious. Additionally, there is a great restaurant on site and a golf course/driving range (at a discounted price for hotel guests). Overall, the price is very fair for the view, room, and amenities that are offered at Little River Inn.

Drove 2 hours to eat at the restaurant for my husband's 70th birthday, what a disappointing meal! He ordered the wild boar, only the boar was missing in action, not even a cube in his meal. My sister in laws scallops had so many green onions thrown on it that she had to pick them off. My husband's Abalone fritters were chewy. The sparkling apple juice doesn't even have a drop of juice in it. The bread pudding was dry and chewy. And to top it off even though we mentioned to the staff that it was a significant birthday, no attempt was made to make it special for him. Will not be back ever again.

Now we're talking! This is the way a coast hotel should be! You get what you pay for here. Our room perfect! No bath just a shower. TV channel selection not many channels but who cares everything else quite nice. We had partial ocean view but even so we could see ocean. The restaurant service and food was simply perfect professional personable and delicious.

Very nice hotel with great views of the ocean. Rooms are not air conditioned but with the cool ocean breeze are very comfortable. Beds were a bit hard for my taste but otherwise great place to relax.

Very quiet… very clean… very cozy room we received! The restaurant is superb with top notch service and an ocean view from their front dining and bar. The best martini with generous amount of gin over ice cold drink with green olives! Incredible driving range and golf course surrounded by sheer beauty! I had a very incredible massage by the one of the best and professional relaxation experts! This not our first time enjoying Little River In and it won't be the last! We're happy to be here! My wife and I had a fantastic stay at Little River Inn. We stayed in the room 268 with an enormous outdoor deck overlooking the Pacific, a huge room with gas fireplace, and a HUGE whirlpool spa in the room. While the decor could use a little updating, the amentities are fantastic. It is a short walk down to Van Damme State Beach to explore the tidepools and I highly recommend doing so. Don't miss the onsite restaurant and bar, where I had one of the best Manhattans of my life!

TLDR This is a wonderful inn and we plan to come back someday when we can afford the time off and such. We stayed here for 2 nights in June for our honeymoon. The honeymoon accommodations were a gift from a family member, and the staff at the office was totally willing to accommodate her calling and providing our information to put the room in our names. We arrived around 4pm, and checked in at the front desk, where we were able to make reservations for dinner at the restaurant in house, which after a long day of traveling was very nice. They use real keys for their 70 year old heirloom inn, and it really adds to the charm. We pulled the car around to our room, the Ocean View Traditional (aka the least expensive lol) and brought our luggage up to our second floor room, opened the door, and were stunned by how GORGEOUS the view was! I thought that because it was a cheaper room it wouldn't have as good of a view, which we were fine with, but it was stunning. The rooms are fairly spacious with a queen bed, two night stands, two armchairs and an ottoman, a large dresser, and a little breakfast nook type table all feeling well-spread and not cramped at all. The restroom smelled SO GOOD! Usually not something I'm used to. They had a Kureig coffee maker and a basket with coffee, tea, sweeteners, stir sticks, a corkscrew (which was so cool that I called the morning we checked out and the office said I could keep it for free).

It was lovely, great service, friendly and a beautiful spot. Out room was on the ground floor and the windows don’t open and there are no screens on the doors so there was no way to get some fresh air at night and no fan or AC. The room got extremely uncomfortably hot. We finally called the desk at 2 am on the second night and they brought us a fan. There should be some way to cool the room down since it was cool outside. (heat was turned way down). Also one of the windows was so fogged up you can’t see through. The view was lovely!

Great location just outside of town, lovely staff and nice comfortable rooms. The attached restaurant and bar are very good as well.

Beware when you book a pet-free room! We booked specifically non-pet room online, unfortunately was still given a pet room. Smelled like a wet dog. No screen door on the slider — we had to buy candles and keep door wide open for the bugs. Carpeted room, with fleas. Also, lots of road noise, and room decor was very dated. Room service for breakfast was half an hour late from the requested window of time. Complained to the management, no return call from Cate. Will not stay again. Better options in Mendocino elsewhere.

Stopped of here on a road trip on a whim, glad we did as this is a priceless place, rocking chairs on the balcony with fantastic views, restaurant was fantastic too.

Great place, love the view, just don't forget to check your room a dozen times when leaving. Left my wedding band by the bathroom sink right before I left, called and asked if they could grab it, they said it wasn't there. That was two visits ago, and not the inns fault, but some one had sticky fingers.

Stayed for a night at this nice cute place. Has golf, spa and good dining. The beach is not accessible however great views from the room and balcony. I would not say the food is excellent but it is above average!

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas here. The staff were all more than lovely and welcoming. Even the other guests were friendly. Overall, it was a lovely way to spend the holiday since our own family was elsewhere. Our two dinner meals were lovely. I wasn’t as pleased with the Christmas dinner, but it was a personal preference rather than any flaw with the food or the presentation. Our breakfast in the room was delicious and presented beautifully and nicely warm. The room was spectacular with a magnificent view of the ocean… my favorite part.

Sat at the bar around 4pm on a Saturday. Friendly staff. Good atmosphere and awesome food. Highlight recommend if you are looking for a place to eat and in the area. Awesome view of the ocean from the bar as well.

They have some of the best pancakes I've ever had. Think a thicker, dense, buttery crepe. Absolutely delicious. Great service, good coffee. Highly recommended for breakfast.

Views are amazing. Rooms don't have central sir. Food is blah. This is a perfect place for retirees but not millenials.

Nice place, great views, love the balconies with the rocking chairs! Lots of things to do around. Family owned, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The bathroom needs some updating, but we would come back. Bed was comfortable.

I have never had the opportunity to stay at the Little River Inn but I have had the chance to enjoy the dining experience there quite a few times. It is quite delightful. Food is amazing and the atmosphere is very cozy in a fancy way. Excellent staff and service as well. Will definitely return.

Made a reservation here for one night after a long drive before an event. Showed up after midnight, and turned out I had accidentally made the reservation for the following week. The host was incredibly accommodating, finding and fixing my reservation, still getting me a room. Room was comfortable, thermostat worked perfectly, beautiful views in the morning. Extra K-cups in the morning, convenient and plentiful parking. On site restaurant had good selection of well made gourmet food. Sorry that my stay was so short; hope that I can come back here again, if only to sit on the deck and enjoy the view.

I require a handicap accessible room. I found out about Little River Inn from an article in a mobility magazine. When I called to book it I talked to Tina, who was very sweet and helpful. I had told her we were in California for our 20th anniversary and when we got to our room we were surprised with a lovely gift of chocolate fudge and wine; both delicious! The room was beautiful and the view was amazing. The bathroom was very accessible and the jacuzzi tub was relaxing. If we ever come to the Mendocino area again or know someone who is we will definitely choose and promote Little River Inn!

Charming location and quaint rooms. Loved the sauna feature in the shower and sue at the bar is awesome! Definitely recommend a stay here!

We have been coming here for 5 years for our Anniversary. Very friendly staff and extremely clean rooms and cottages. PET FRIENDLY, supplied dog dishes, towels and sheets for our pets. Even gave them doggie treats. Love, love this place.

Stayed in the Electra room for elopement/honeymoon, gorgeous views of ocean from deck and inside room. Bathroom was large. Very well decorated. No kitchenette but they deliver breakfast and dinner to your room and the food was always delicious.

Wonderful antique building with incredible history. Attentive, professional staff, service was top notch. Great wine list with some of the best prices I've ever seen in a restaurant. Decent, if somewhat basic food, not an inspired menu, but certainly good quality.

Incredible ocean view from the room.

Ocean View Fireplace room was lovely — comfortable, traditionally decorated, clean, with a spacious balcony looking out on the ocean. Staff is friendly and accomodating. They welcome pets — for $25 per night, you get use of a food/water bowl and 4 Milkbone biscuits. The hotel does have free Wi-Fi, which they don’t seem to advertise. Be aware that Little River has no cell reception. You’ll need to go into Mendocino to use your cell phone.

Inn is set above highway 1 with a great view of the ocean. Nice rooms and nice restaurant. Lucky find on our drive north.

The hotel rooms were not bad for being in the country and were kept up very well, and the view from our patio of the ocean was just absolutely breathtaking! It was a very quaint little hotel with very friendly people who made our stay incredibly special.

The dining room is very nicely decorated although it does not offer an ocean view. You get that at the bar. The food is quite good, especially the crab cakes which I ordered as my main course because I wasn't too hungry that night. The service is a little haphazard. Our server forgotten our wine and took away our wine glasses. At first I thought she is replacing them with their fine crystals (although I did not order the Latour). It turns out that she thought we did not order any wine.
