It was okay. I've stayed in better and worse. Bed was fine. AC was fine. Price was too high.

Absolutely Love it. Perfect location. Look forward to staying there every time.

Mariposa was once a thriving gold mining town and now a historic gateway to Yosemite National Park a great place to stay overnight and explore the history of the area and no better place then the Mariposa Lodge.

We arrived late and our key was waiting for us. The rooms were comfy and quiet. I slept great before a big day in Yosemite. I’ll definitely book here the next time I visit.

The room was clean. Nice bathroom with a stand up shower. Bed was comfortable. Nice little country town. Sets in the middle of it on the main drag.

Dated and small. Staff was rude. I was having pregnancy complications before checking into the first night of my 2 night stay. They accused me of lying and refused to refund either of the 2 nights I paid on Expedia. Odd check in policy. Bed scratchy, old, and uncomfortable with a thin $5 Walmart blanket and old coverlet that needed to be tossed off the bed. No hot water in shower. Grounds unkempt with wooded pallet tossed in yard. Very odd to find religious quotations on the hotel lobby window as well. Would never recommend. Pros — Good location, close to Yosemite.

The carpet had stains, the wood on the table was chipped, the tile in the bathroom was curling, there was no security latch on the room door, there is insufficient parking, but the bed was comfortable and I got a good night's sleep.

Location was great. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. I thought the setting was nice and the price was just right. I will definitely stay there again!

Nice decent place to stay. Room was clean and kept tidy. A little disappointed to see fridge empty. During night woke up to find thirsty and there is no drinking water. It would be nice to keep some drinking water in the fridge and charge customers, if they used it.

Location was fantastic! Great little town with good restaurants (try out 1850 Brewing and Jantz Bakery). Great access to Yosemite and beautiful grounds at the hotel. Would definitely stay here again!

I've stayed here multiple times now, and I've never had a bad experience. This most recent visit was only for a single night, but the room was comfortable. The location is ideal for anything you want to do in the town of Mariposa, everything is easily within walking distance. There were some giant ants in the bathroom when we woke up on a cold morning, but they disappeared shortly afterwards and didn't bother us.

Nice motel, came in late after a day in the park and they had a huge apartment for us in a reasonable price. Place was spacious and clean. Would definitely recommend this place for Yosemite travelers.

Great place to rest if you plan to travel to Yosemite National Park. The hotel is very clean and the price is reasonable. It has television, microwave oven, refrigerator, coffee maker and WI-FI.

We stayed here yesterday, it was very quiet and the rooms were clean. It's close to all the shops on the main road. The bathroom was tiny but manageable. It's a quaint motor lodge nothing super fancy but not seedy at all. The staff was very nice. The rooms are set back from the street down a semi steep driveway so is very quiet but be careful walking. All in all I would/will stay again.

It's ok. The rooms are quite small. The heater is either inferno hot or ice cold, no middle point. For what you are getting it is not cheap at all but it is the cheapest of the bunch. The lady at the front desk was very kind, helpfull and polite. The place is well ubicated in the main road just 40 minutes away form the Yosemitiee National Park. All in all it's not great but its probably the best you can get in Mariposa.

It was clean and the staff was very accommodating. We were unable to make check in time and she helped us out.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Mariposa Lodge for four days as a base to explore Yosemite and Seqouia national parks as well as the local area. Service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. Any issue and request was resolved and fulfilled promptly. The beds we're ok; we had two queen beds… One was lumpy and the other was really comfy. There is an air conditioner/heater that cools and heats very quickly. The room also had a mini fridge and microwave as well as other standard amenities (iron, hangers, hair dryer and TV). There was also a pool and jacuzzi which we didn't use due to cold December nights (around 45F). The hotel is a bit dated but clean. The hotel is very close this small town's Main Street. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes in reasonable walking distance. The visitors center about a 3 minute drive down the street provides valuable info about the area. Yosemite is around an hour drive from the hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

Very nice hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. Fridge and coffee maker available. Staff take the time to give us advice regarding tours and trips to Yosemite. Certainly the price is quite high but this is the case of all hotels in the area.

Stayed for 2 nights… room was quite spacious. TV was on the small side (lots of channels though) but who needs TV when you have the wonders of the internet! Lady who checked us is was very lovely she is the one who recommended Happy Burger down the street (see my previous review) all in all very good experience.

Expensive better not stay, uncomfortable bed a lot of noise the air.

Rooms are clean and have all the typical amenities including a coffee maker, hairdryer, and soaps. Fresh towels provided daily.

Nice place to stay after visited Yosemite, it's only take about an hour from Yosemite Valley to this hotel. Location of this hotel is good, as it in the centre of this small town, and surrounded by restaurants. Nice condition is average, just a bit old. Nice stay except the water ran so slow.

You have your own parking slot, Wi-Fi was ok, cable TV available, a fridge and microwave, but no plates (fork, knive), there is also a pool. A little bit cold in October, because the blankets are to thine.

A quality / price ratio is quite disappointing… If the room was clean is correct, per night (no breakfast included) was expensive and the reception… not really warm! One has the feeling to bother the staff when you show up to "check in" or to ask advice on places to see and restaurants. Convenient for an overnight stop before the parks, but not beyond.

Cute motel, clean rooms and nice location for visiting Yosemite. Staff was great about making sure we could get checked in and out without hassle… if you can't make check-in by the time they close they will work with you to make sure you can still get in ^_^

Great stay in downtown Mariposa, Ca. The price was reasonable.

We arrived at the lodge/motel around 1:40pm and were told we couldn't check in until 3:00 (which I understand is standard). There was no offer to hold our bags and I was told there is no public restroom, that I'd have to go somewhere else. Once we checked in, the room was decently clean, but had a strong smell. It was a non-smoking room but smelled as though someone used a lot of Febreeze or some other strong smelling spray to cover up smoke smell. It was awful. The air conditioning is one of those window unit type things (no vents in the room). We could not get a comfortable room temp for everyone. Had to leave it running at night with a chair in front of it so it didn't blow directly on me. We also had a few bugs to battle — carpenter ant on my face as I was sleeping and cricket in the room. The best part of the room was it was quiet at night and the beds were comfy. We also enjoyed the little town of Mariposa. Everyone else was so friendly and the coffee place across the street from the Lodge/Motel was awesome. Sadly, we won't be staying there again.

Room was great. Plenty of too. The bed was wonderful. The patio was nice to relax on. Fridge great to keep supplies cold for trip into park.

Beautiful foliage and decent, comfy rooms. Pool was a lifesaver. Went to Yosemite each day — amazing drive but a workout.

Econo-fabulous. My wife and I have stayed 1 of 3 nights, the shower is hot, the Air-con is cold, and the TV is reliable. The staff are attentive when needed, discrete for the rest. My only real complaint is that there is no deadbolt on our door — perhaps is the only one without.

Quaint little place within walking distance to most everything to see in Mariposa, historical gold mining town.

Clean mostly, bathroom small, hard trying to play, "Let's not touch the shower walls! ", while bathing. Not the most notable place I've stayed, but also not the worst. Great if you need a quick place to sleep and aren't expecting more than that.

Had a nice evening stay cute and convenient location. Good service. Rooms were clean, no bugs and a great price! I would stay again and probably will when I come back to the area.

Very spacious room close enough to all the restaurants and shops to be able to travel on foot. Internet was of very decent quality (both speed an stability wise) Price was a bit hefty for 2 people but I did receive a 5 + person room with 2 queen beds a single bed and a convertible couch as it was the only room able to accommodate 2 people on separate beds.

I booked on hotwire，one room，three adult people！when I check in ，the office give me one king bed！how can 3 adult sleep on one king bed ？ they should give me two double bed，but they dont！i dont like usa！i wont come usa again！

This was the most pleasant trip ever! The place was so clean and grounds kept up beautifully. All of the staff was super with all our needs and me dawn made us feel at home. We lived our stay. Would highly recommend.

Stayed for nearly two weeks with my sister a while back. Rooms are clean, very comfortable and quiet. I was very pleased to learn of weekly rentals here as my vacation was not starting until 3 days after checking in with Sis. Quiet is important to night shift workers.

Cozy stay on decent accommodations on a reasonable fare. Second time here and it's my goto when Yosemite is too full :-)

Overpriced prices close to the Yosemite were to be expected, but $ 120 for an old worn out room with no Chance of plagues of mosquitoes to keep out there is outrageous. The advertised Wi-Fi was unusable. The worst Motel on our 5 week Road Trip.

What nice friendly People who run the place, I ma not sure if they are the owners are employees. We stayed two nights there and have nothing but good things to said about the place. Good price, clean rooms, good staff what more can you ask for. Not a lot of parking, not a new place, not a place for a princess. But all you need in a nice room.

Family-run Motel. You can see the attention to Detail on all corners. The area in front of the room is very planted beautiful. The rooms are according to the environment on average. You can't expect a luxury hotel, but the price-performance ratio is very good. The rooms are clean and well maintained, even if the decor is a little old-fashioned. The staff is incredibly friendly. Checkin and Checkout work fine and very fast. Anyone looking in the area a place to stay, you will hardly find something better!

Clean room, great location, and friendly service. Mariposa is a nice town and Mother Lode Lodge is a very competitive place to stay while here.

I've stayed here twice while on tour with the Mariposa Symphony Orchestra. The room is clean and comfortable. The staff and cost for the room are very accommodating.

Just old. But great location.

The inn was out of rooms, so they offered a two room apartment on the street behind the inn. The apartment was nice and clean, with plates stocked in the kitchen and heaters for the two rooms. There was a nice living room area and a bathroom that was well kept.

ALove this little place! Personal touch from staff can't be beat. Small businesses are the best! And strong Wi-Fi!

Motel step, somewhat expensive for what it comes to be a motel. Large rooms, a bathroom acceptable and Wi-Fi in throughout the hotel. Parking right in front of the rooms (if you're lucky). Mini swimming pool. I can not highlight anything else. Motel step-by-step.

Checked in at night after a long day of sightseeing at yosemite. Beds are king size and restaurants are in walking distance. Great place and will return here when I come back to Yosemite.

After a long day of driving this place was such an amazing relief. The king-size bed was about as comfortable as a bed can be. Soft pillows that I wanted to steal. Very clean. Quiet. Lots of stars. Dog friendly. After spending the previous two nights at less than exceptional hotels, this was such a great surprise. They should seriously remove the "America's Best Value Inn" from the name. I was expecting a Bates hotel. When you wake up in the morning go down the street to the Gold Coin for breakfast. Service isn't the fastest, but they're small-town friendly, and the food was great.

Loved the setting and location. Owner was welcoming and assisted us to Yosemite.

Shaun and I have stayed here twice in cottage 11 and once in room 10. This hotel is a great getaway… they have no phones in the room but do have Wi-Fi available. This is the last family run hotel in Mariposa… and they treat you with courtesy and like family. The rooms have mini fridges coffee makers and microwaves. And tvs with local cable. A phone is located at the back of cabin 11 for local calling only. I invite you to meet Lisa and the family and see exactly why we make the Mother Lode Lodge our Mariposa home.! CHECK IN AFTER 3PM.

Ideal Accommodation close to the Yosemite Park. Solid and not too expensive.
