My stay inspired me to create this soon-to-be timeless saying, "You never know not to stay at a Motel 6, until you stay at a Motel 6". Should be their motto. I've enjoyed my stay at much cheaper motels. This one is bad. Our first impression was the overwhelming cigarette smoke outside the room. Then we walked in and the room smelt like a combination of smoke and chemicals. Everything in the room was clean, but the accommodations were really lacking. Really small rooms, tiny TV that doesn't turn or tilt, the mattress was super lumpy and thin. The room did not include an iron, hairdryer, coffee maker, or shampoo and conditioner. This was the first time I've been to a motel/hotel that did not include shampoo. Also the walls were pretty thin, so we heard a lot of noise throughout the night. The worst part was the sleep. Not only was mattress super uncomfortable, but for some reason, it was very humid/moist in the room. We cranked the AC with the fan on high and temperature on low all night but it was still clammy in the room. I spent the night being cold and sweaty.

We visited the LA area with our 2 teenage sons. We wanted to save money on our hotel so we could afford to spend more on our activities. So, we stayed at the Motel 6 just south of downtown. It was very convenient for the Ronald Reagan Museum which was our first stop. The hotel staff was great and told us the best time to travel the freeway so that the commute into town only took us 30 minutes when we went into LA to tour the stars' homes and visit the beach in Malibu. The room was great and very affordable. We slept well and stayed in budget. The breakfast was a continental breakfast but we are not big eaters in the morning so it was all we needed. My only complaint is with Motel 6 as a whole and that is that I wish they would invest in nicer towels. The towels feel like sandpaper but I expected that going in and I was willing to compromise for the huge savings we had in the room. Overall, this was a very pleasant experience.

For the price the room was fine. Staff was very friendly. Staff allowed me to check in about 2 hours early gave me a room connected to my sisters room which was great. Loved the staff. However my non-smoking room reeked of smoke. I left the door open all day to air it out & could not get rid of the smell. My throat felt like I had smoked the next morning. Could have been a little cleaner but for the price it was fine. Staff was very kind & if I did stay here again it would be because of the staff.

Motel 6 is always adequate but not very pleasant in terms of beauty or amenities. I pick it because it is cheap but this was not any cheaper than other places I stayed in the LA basin that weekend. I did it through Expedia, asked the desk clerk when I checked in for a room with a tub but she couldn't tell that the room she gave me had no tub. I came back and (after waiting in line) she was able to accomodate me. And was pleasant.

The only thing that I can say on a negative basis is the showers are a little funky to get the balance of hot water to cold. The shower is faded so you cannot see which way is hot and cold and it's very sensitive in a more difficult way. Other then that I've stayed with you many times before and I'm always satisfied.

Courteous staff however I have a condition and very hard to use stairs not to mention painful. I was told I could check in early because I arrived very early. However the only clean room was upstairs. After driving 16 hours to get here I took thinking they would put me downstairs when a clean room was cleaned. Being a holiday weekend that was not the case. I was then told I could not change rooms because they were all full. I told them when I booked the room I had to have downstairs and the lady assured me I would have it. The manager doesn't care nor does her staff. Floor was absolutely filthy, my feet were completely black from walking on the wood like flooring. Hair in the tub. Towels are just awful, hard. Stiff, scratchy and the coffee was terrible. The only reason I put one star is because of the system would not let me post without it.

Great front desk staff, made me feel welcome. Clean room. Everything worked wonderfully. A good night's sleep and coffee in the morning. I love Motel 6.

I have a couple of complaints, first the water pressure is too low for my liking. I understand that it may be a conservation effort but it is a preference. Secondly, the mattress is too thin and the bed is uncomfortable. My last complaint is that the TV remote was not fully functional all of the time. I had to remove and add the batteries back in to get it to work, kind of a hassle. Otherwise the room was clean and functional. It had been a while since I stayed with Motel 6 and it was definitely an improvement from the last time which was back in 2003. One other thing have you thought about offering your guests internet access?

I was injured in your parking lot. The "bumpers" for the car wheels are not at the head of the parking spaces, but are set across the parking space lines every other space. I was carrying a backpack and looking at my rental car keys, trying to find the button to open the trunk. I didn't see the oddly positioned "bumper", tripped over it, and went sprawling, injuring my elbow and knee. You might want to consider moving those bumpers into the more traditional position at the head of each space, not in the pathway of pedestrians walking between cars.

Smell of cigarette in the room which yet is a non smoking room. The bed was very clean.

I love the fact that Motel 6 is the "most" accommodating motel that accepts animals. All animal-lovers enjoy this. I would like to see microwaves, and refrigerators in every Motel 6, some have them, some charge extra for them, and others don't have them at all. And I would like to see what is charged for a night's stay is more stationary that up and down at times, but all motels charge different prices for no apparent reason.

Spent two nights there over Easter weekend 2018. Price was good. Basic accommodation, pretty quiet. Clean and neat. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Great value if you're looking for a good night sleep. I would definitely stay again.

Dirty and crappy. We had to call reception because we found more than 6 spiders distributed throughout the room…

A friend and I were heading to a funeral mass in Oceanside. We has planned to drive from Santa Barbara to Oceanside Friday morning. But because of the rain in Santa Barbara and potential for flooding and closing the 101 we decided at about 8:30 Thursday evening to drive south of Montecito. We were both tired and didn't want to drive too far. So I booked two rooms for us in Thousand Oaks. The front desk staff was very nice, rooms clean and quiet. Only soap no shampoo or hair drier in the bathroom, and the shower head was really low. I'm 5'6 and had to do squats to get under the water. It was a cold rainy night and the heater in my room didn't work so I was a bit cold. Would have loved an extra blanket. We checked in about 11 pm and were gone by 7:30 the next morning so we really just needed beds and showers. For that, the price was right. Had we planned to stay another night I would have been frustrated by the lack of amenities in the room.

We travel with our little dog and the room was perfect. A pet area was close and for those who do not pick up after their dog, it was cleaned every day. We would have liked a microwave in the room, but that was only because we had leftovers from the good restaurants in the area.

The team is friendly and the room clean. But the proximity of the highway is a real handicap to have a nice and peaceful sleep. Also the mattress are a bit firm in my opinion and they don't provide baby bed. Witch could be a real help hen you come from abroad. The water of the shower was not warm enough. And you have to pay for internet, in 2018?

Nothing special but qur'aan you can expect from this chain of motels.

Absolutely perfect for what we needed. The staff were very friendly when we got there, even though we arrived late. The room was large, very clean, good size TV to watch the college football on! When we return to california we are definitely staying here again, great location, fantastic price. Nothing wrong with this place whatsoever. 11/10

We stayed at Motel 6 because we needed to evacuate our home during the Thomas fire in Ventura County, so we were grateful that you had openings when many other hotels did not. The rooms were clean and comfortable, as advertised. We usually stay at hotels that have more amenities, but considering the circumstances, we were satisfied. All three of us agreed that the towels were very scratchy, and softer towels would have been comforting. Your lobby staff was very courteous and welcoming, which was great under our circumstances. We found the heating/cooling unit to be noisy in one of the rooms and even at the coolest setting was too warm; it was actually more comfortable to open the window a little and hear the traffic on US 101.

We had to evacuate due to smoke from the wildfires in our hometown. We ended up here and they were so nice and accommodating. They are pet friendly. The room was clean, spacious and the beds comfortable. Restaurants and shops were in walking distance as well as a short drive for other options. Traffic sounds were minimal, nor were we disturbed by loud guests. You do have to pay for internet access, however it is good for 24 hours.

Super cheap, and a great budget by – I stayed here twice in different rooms for under $50 a night. However, I would not say that the infrastructure is terribly decent – the first room I stayed and had no way to turn off the heat, and it was 90° most of the time. The second room but he didn’t work at all so I needed to pile up the blankets.

Your front desk woman was the kindest and most personal person I've met. She is a great representative of your company. I forget her name, Christy or something. She was so pleasant and business informative. Room 111 had an air conditioner that didn't work. A bearded man came immediately to help. He turned on the heart in the room. It worked fine until we got too warm. Wee opened a window which cooled us down but there was an abnormal amount of cigarette smoke that filled our room. We opened the window an inch to cool down. Didn't get much sleep but the location is beautiful. We're travelling for the next few weeks and stay only at Motel 6's. Our stay was rally nice and the staff was very nice to us. We love that we can have our dog. The only thing is that the walls are too thin so it's easy to listen to other guests. Apart from that it was great.

I stay here 9-12 nights a year. In an area where you can easily pay $100+ a night this is a great place to stay. Nothing fancy. But nice, clean and quiet. Plus there's an IN-N-OUT right next door. Update 9/2014: They have just did a remodel of this motel. It's Awesome. Update: 8/2017: Still an Awesome place! Update 3/2017 still love this place!

Reservation was easy. We travel with our small dog, so appreciated that you are pet-friendly. Location and access was good. Price was great. Only disappointments were no tissues, no shampoo (only because we usually bring our own but forgot this time), no coffee maker or mini-fridge… but then, we realize that the lack of those things helps keep your costs down. Also — we greatly appreciate the remodel that removed the carpeting! BUT — we were awakened in the early morning by our upstairs neighbor STOMP-STOMP-STOMPING back and forth from the bathroom to the bedroom; sounded like he was TRYING to wake us up. But then I realized: no carpeting to mute the sound… hmmm. Maybe upstairs should have carpet, downstairs not!

It was really comfortable. The manager and the staff (especially Eddie) were all very kind and great! They made us feel comfortable, respected our wishes when it came to when we wanted service done to our rooms, the rooms were clean and did not smell. We truly appreciated our experience. And when my entire family comes out again for another visit, Motel 6 Thousand Oaks on Newbury Rd will be our go to. And we will also recommend it to friends & family whenever they are in the area.

We (family of 4) went to do some school shopping and hang out at the beach. Hotel prices were pretty high so I checked the motel 6 and it had a good priced room. I was hesitant due to it being a motel 6. But decided to book because of the price and the area was nice. Check in was fast, you can tell they are trying to clean up the problem people because of all the rules they tell you to read. We got to the room and it was clean, I like the floors no nasty carpet, very happy with that. Bed was comfortable and clean. Did not care for the low shower head but the water pressure was great. Towels were not great but Very impressed over all with the room. This motel 6 is doing things better. We would stay again, Thank You.

Your concierge Eddie was very knowledgeable with our accommodation. Although we stayed only one night. Great place to recommend to family and friends. Rooms were great and hotel very very clean. Eddie was very helpful and patient with us to change from 3 nights to one night. Great sense of humor and very friendly. This property has lovely tree shaded grounds and a good space in the back for walking your dogs. It also has a really nice large patio/deck area with a lot of seating where guests can sit out and enjoy the evening air or their morning cup of coffee. The place felt clean and the clientele seemed a step above the normal Motel 6 crowd. Both evening and morning crews behind the front desk were very friendly and accommodating. The room's dining table had a small banquet bench built in that was cushioned and comfier than a hard chair. This was nice and something I haven't seen at other Motel 6's.

We had a great stay! We were in town for my sons baseball tournament. The price was right and only a 7-9 min drive to field. Location was near freeway and also near restaurants/stores. Rooms were clean, AC kept room cool. Having a Laundry room to wash my sons uniform was so convenient. Also, we enjoyed the pool. I definitely would stay here again.

Great people at front Desk! I get enough money from my company to go to a Marriott, I choose to go to a Motel 6 because of easy access to my rooms, just back my car next to my door and I'm home away from home. When I'm in this area I always stay here because of the people and the cleanliness of the rooms, I travel nation wide for work and I have in the past slept with roaches at some Motel 6… But here… the difference from Motel 6 and a Marriott is obviously the Price. But here, I see the front desk as my close friends and not like at Marriott with fake smiles because I paid nearly $200 per night.

Very clean motel, bed smelled very clean and felt nice. Staff was friendly and accommodated. Easy check out Only problem was no toilet paper when arrived. Staff did not come for room service and towels had to be called for. Not a big deal Our 2 dogs were easily accommodated and were very comfortable.

Excellent. Staff very friendly and attentive. Several of the staff at the check in could work in a 5 star hotel. The manager, Al, has done a great job with the property and staff. Very clean and lovely landscaping. It's the little things that add up to a nice experience. The location is quite good with many restaurants and markets not too far away. Also pretty much a quiet location.

The hotel looked better than expected. No tissues, hair dryer, or shampoo provided. The beds are pretty uncomfortable. Our keys stopped working in the middle of the day even though the maids hadn't even been to our room. Not crazy about the place but I've been in worse.

The greatest thing about this location, &, I think some other locations may have the same, is: Carpet-Free! Spectacular. All motel/hotels should remove all carpet — it makes it much easier to avoid bug problems, keep smoke/dust, etc. Out to make breathing easier, &, at least they are totally Smoke-Free indoors. There were lots of smokers outdoors, but, I've recommended (& maybe they'll start considering it? ) that they have buildings/areas where smoking is allowed outdoors, but, to have No-Smoking Buildings totally, including outdoors near rooms.

It's great that they've modernized and that this particular location has a lot of parking space. However, you have to pay for Wi-Fi, they do not offer fridges in their rooms or microwaves, they don't even have a microwave on site which is practically unheard of when it comes to hotels/motels. Also, the premium internet isn't necessarily what they advertise, it lags and will go in and out on certain devices, plus it's kind of funny how they can add HDMi inputs and such but still ask you to pay for Wi-Fi. Also the gentleman in the front office kept insinuating that I register my second guest when I'm here alone? It was kinda rude.

I did not like the smell. However it was the fact that the linen on the bed did not appear to be clean, the floor was not swept and wiped neither the bedroom nor the bathroom. Towels may have been used. But I was most irritated when I asked them to clean the room and left. 3 hours later I returned and nothing was done. The staff at front desk was nice and friendly, but that is not why I came here. I try to keep cost low when I travel because I travel a lot, but the hotel must be clean. I guess lesson learned. I stayed in brand new Motel 6 once and I guess that is what I thought about the. That one looked like the Aloft on the inside.

The Thousand Oaks Motel 6 is legendary for travelers along 101, since it is usually safe and they can always depend on it, although it if frequently booked or has inconvenient parking due to high occupancy. However, I am unhappy with the Motel 6 corporation's decision to replace carpet with synthetic vinyl floors. They are very hard and for people like me with foot problems are impossible to deal with. Also true for people with sciatica and knee problems. The low quality mattresses are also problematic. That said, when there are no other motels in the Thousand Oaks area, Manager Al Alam's property is always a good choice because it is very safe if you have a lot of stuff in your car. The Camarillo and Ventura Motel 6's are not safe. And, parking passes are required for every vehicle, so that the Ventura County Sheriff can tow cars that do not belong to motel guests. Most of Thousand Oaks, does not allow overnight parking, even on residential streets. It is one of the top 10 safest cities in the country. Normally, I would stay at the Camarillo Days Inn, or the Thousand Oaks Quality Inn, which offer the same price. The Camarillo Days Inn is currently adding brand new, extra thick carpets to its rooms. And, they have a microwave and fridge. Also, I appreciate that Manager Al Alam did not raise the rates over the weekend. I had to drive all the way from San Luis Obispo just to find a motel for under $70.

It is a nice motel but the customer service is atrocious. The staff literally does not care about customers. We paid for the premium internet and had to enter a code to get it, then due to the slow internet, the page lagged and we chose the slow internet. Already had paid for premium, we went to the front desk wanting either a refund or help and the associate talked over us, told us we were wrong, and then when we asked for help he told us we had to call TECHNICAL SUPPORT. We are staying for one night, and were on the phone for an hour trying to solve this in the hotel. The management doesn't care. I expressed anger OUTSIDE of the building and the management even yelled at me! This place is a mess.

Best damn Motel 6 I have ever stayed out. New, clean, right off freeway. Many places to eat within walking distance. Wonderful staff.

Great improvement with the room renovation… no more carpet. Nice inset flat screen television. Better ac/heating unit very simple to use. Better landscaping is quite apparent.

It may be a motel 6 but from the moment I walked into the lobby I was impressed. They gentleman @ the counter was extremely friendly & above respectful with a subtle sense of humor. As he was checking me he was interacting with two other staff members which by conversation seemed they all were personal friends again in a very subtle pleasant way. Rooms were quite clean. If you are expecting to have friends at your room expect to check them in. They developed a policy which is posted with the local police department they are only asking to be curtious not like @ our Frathouse!

This location has definitely met my expectations for Motel 6. Room was clean and in good shape. Room was non-smoking but had a tinge of what I think was a smoke smell, not bad. I would stay again.

Nice desk clerk that check us in. There was no wait for my room and they change my room from the second floor to the first floor with no problem. The room was clean and the shower was great. I would recommend this hotel because the price was good and the people that work there were very nice to us.

Pay $3 for Wi-Fi that is so slow that it will take you more than 5 minutes to open Google maps and post this comment. My 3G phone with 1 bar feels like a racecar compared to their internet.

I'm pissed off because I made reservations on the phone for this hotel for 3 days stay and when I got into the lobby around 12am they told me I couldn't get the hotel because I wasnt 21! I have a baby in the car with a toddler and they refused me service! When I talked to the guy on the phone he told me it was OK that I wasnt 21. I'm very disappointed in them. I had to drive around to find another hotel. We were able to get one at quality inn & suits in Thousand Oaks, for cheaper. But I'm glad I went to quality inn, much nicer staff and cleaner.

I needed to find a hotel close to a Malibu event that was reasonably priced so I found this hotel online. Not knowing the area I was nervous but all my anxiety disappeared at check in. Staff was very gracious and helpful and room was more than I expected. It was clean and nicely designed and the free parking was helpful so close to the room. It made my trip much more enjoyable. Thank You.

By far the best Motel 6 I have ever been to. I was really skeptical about getting a Motel 6 simply because of the reputation and past experiences I've had but this one is that one exception. I really don't know why someone would leave a bad review. It takes a bit for a hotel (especially a motel) to meet my expectations. The cleanliness was outstanding the rooms were well kept. Yes it's by the highway and I don't know what noise people complain about because there was none at all. The area was about other one of my concerns just because I'm not from here but there wasn't about other single problem the area was very nice. This is the first motel 6 that I do not encounter Drug addicts or Prostitutes so that alone made me feel extremely comfortable. One last thing that made this stay great was the staff working. I stayed 2 nights and each of the staff was so friendly and helped with whatever they could. I very highly recommend this Motel 6 I will definitely be staying here again if I'm in the area.

Very nice room. Big and clean The people in the front desk were very nice and friendly, a times it get busy and you have to wait for a while. If you make your reservation on line, make sure you have all the info specially if it was a last minute reservation. The motel has a very nice pool, and the parking lot a surrounding areas were very clean. I left the best for last, the price was very reasonable at about $ 65 for a two queen beds room. At the closest motel, La Quinta, it was about $ 110, plus about 15% taxes. I would definitely stay there again. PS; I forgot to mention that the area where it is located is very safe, and there are several good restaurants near by. (In-and Out is practically next door) It worthwhile to mention that the City of Thousand is every years the number 1 or 2 safest city in the USA, for cities of its size. Of course it is not paradise either and you have to be moderately careful. Any comments one year old or older do not apply now. After the remodeling most of those problems were corrected. Some one suggested to go to " La Quinta Motel " nearby. Of course do that id you do not mind paying about $ 120 per night plus taxes. I have a better idea for all those complainers. Take the 101 freeway South and get off in Westlake Blvd (only a couple miles away) and you will see the Hyatt Hotel and stay there, you will get a lot better room and service. True: " You get what you pay ". It will cost you about $ 220 plus tax per night. Enjoy it.

Motel has nice grounds, pleasant environment. For some reason, it seems all the Motel 6's have taken out their blow-dryers and in-room coffee makers/coffee and small fridges. I do like the linoleum "wood" floors. I had booked my room online and talked to someone. I'm an AARP member, but unfortunately didn't have my card in my wallet the day I checked in, so I only got a very small senior discount. I wish the person who booked me had told me I would need to provide proof with my AARP card. This isn't the motel's fault. Overall, I really liked this Motel 6 — — one of the nicest I've stayed at — — just wish they hadn't pared down the amenities mentioned above.

This Motel 6 is the best one of the chain in my opinion. Each time I stay here the service, location and convenience improves. There are several good restaurants and other shops in the area, which makes my stay very efficient and convenient. The price, value and location for my needs make this location outstanding, and is my first choice now in choosing a hotel in this area. I can usually afford to pay more to get better accommodations, but this Motel 6 meets my needs very well and I can get a great value for the price, so no need to spend more.

This motel provides nothing more than a room, towels, hand soap, bathroom, a tv, and coffee. Only good for one nights stay.

Room is ok, clean, nice t. V. Quiet, the neighboors are not A class, no Wi-Fi tough. Price is reasonable for the area, not the motel. Towels are very small. Beds are comfortable, and heating is quiet. From 1 to 10, I give it an 8.

Overall good (1) night stay. Motel room had a very modern, recently remodeled look to it. Room was clean with the exception of hair on the towels. Parking was good. No issues other than hair on the towel. Very reasonable rate.

Excellent management and desk service make this low-priced hotel a great place to stay. The atmosphere is one of safety, security and cleanliness. I have loved coming here with my family — including our two dogs. The park-like setting and attention to detail are exemplary. A great stay for a great price.

Great place. Seen previous comments about room and they must have updated. Vinly wood looking floors, big flat screen placed high on the wall and the room itself was very modern and up to date. Well worth the price we payed. Will stay again if in the area.

We had a nice stay here at Motel 6 Thousand Oaks South/ Rooms were clean and plenty of ice near the office. New TV that was elevated higher than other motels for easy viewing. Beautiful landscape with nice shade trees on property.

The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The room was nice and very comfortable especially for the price. I was surprised there was no shampoo to shampoo my hair like most places have. I needed to shampoo my hair and I didn't have any. Also wished there had been a coffee pot and container for ice otherwise it was a very nice room for the price.
