Nice place to stay when in Garberville area.

Really quiet and very nice view.

Rooms were nice and big. No toilet paper tho. We checked in at 1230am and when I tried to call the desk got no answer. Went down and rang doorbell a few times and no one would come to the window. Grab and go breakfast was good.

It was Valentine's day fine wine, dipped strawberries, cheese, meat and small bread bites breakfast was good also!

Great place to stay, excellent service & the complimentary breakfast is good to start your day with.
Highly recommended.

I'm very sad to have to leave a horrible review but they've left me no choice. Arrived friday 9/20/19 at 4:05 (check in is 4) after a long hard day of traveling and looking forward to a cool dip in the pool and a hot shower, was told room wasn't ready, but they would check and it may be ready soon. Went up to the floor to check, one cleaning person was working on the floor, her supervisor was also there (but not cleaning) was told at 4:30 it would be next, at 5:30 still not ready, asked for the manager but she was not there. At 6pm I was offered another room, on a noisier floor, I declined, finally after waiting around for over two and a half hours and leaving to go out to dinner I was told the room was finally ready, but we had reservations for 6:45 so we left for a great dinner at The Lost Frenchman. We returned at 8:30, finally in our room and the TV connection didn't work, after checking and tightening visible connections I called the front desk. Cindy came right up, checked same connections, then we both managed to pull out the desk from the wall, tightened the last connection behind desk and this problem was fixed. Thank Cindy. Start to finish worst hotel check in experience I've ever had, but thanks Cindy for at least fixing the TV. To the manger I'd like to say I think you've got serious issues and my friends and I won't ever be back. Best Western, I really think you should should do something about this.

This place is awesome. Huge rooms, clean, great service and amenities. Coming back here when we can.

Our room is very nice, it looks out at a beautiful courtyard with lush plants and a nice pool and hot tub. The wine and cheese party was very nice too.

This is a great hotel, too often passed by on 101. This hotel is very clean, desk staff is helpful and friendly, the rooms are very large, and they serve an outstanding breakfast. I stay in 25 to 30 best westerns every year and this one gets four stars from me. You should check it out if you’re traveling the Redwood Highway.

This is the best Best Western Plus we have stayed at so far. We are platinum level members and we try to stay at Best Western when we travel. The rooms were clean, the staff very friendly, breakfast was great, the property is beautiful and well kept. And they even had complimentary cheese and wine. We will recommend this hotel to family and friends and we will return when we are in that area.

A great place to stay while exploring the Avenue of the Giants. Excellent accommodations. Superior staff! Stellar breakfast and evening reception. Good price. Definitely recommend!

This hotel was quite nice. Our room was wrong at first, but was quickly sorted out. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was great for a continental. Lots of options and was available for a while. Would recommend.

Beautiful hotel snuggled deep in the California Redwoods. We have been staying here once every year for 20 years and we are always satisfied with our stay. Free breakfast til 10am and wine and cheese in the evening. There's a refreshing pool and relaxing spa until 10pm. Prices are very reasonable, we even had a rook with a full kitchen and fried up hamburgers and steaks! Great trip every time!

Could have been a nice hotel. Decent breakfast, huge room and clean room. Too strong of smell in room. Almost perfumery. A lot of homeless people wandering around town and in front of hotel. Town very run down.

Worth the price! I stayed here because I wanted to visit Humboldt Redwoods State Park. It's RIGHT on the avenue of Giants. The staff is phenomenal (Tricia at the front desk was so incredibly nice and welcoming) the jacuzzi is clean, the room was good & breakfast is pretty good for a free continental breakfast!

I can't say enough good things about my experience here. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff was incredibly friendly & helpful and made it so much easier for my dogs — this place & staff are very pet friendly. For a small donation (instead of a pet fee) they provided a bowl, treats & sheet for the dogs. Also when my dogs managed to lock us out of the room (because my big one hit the dead bolt) they were so understanding & worked very quickly to get us back into the room & reunited with the dogs. And then gave us a gift of a bottle of red wine to treat us and help us relax after the harrowing experience of trying to figure out how to get back into the room. The breakfast was really good and quick, and the nightly wine & cheese was a great touch. I can't wait to come back to Garberville just so I can stay here again! Thank you so much for being so accommodating and gracious!

Amazing hotel for the rural location we were in. The front desk staff were pleasant and attentive. We arrived just in time for happy hour which includes wine, cheese, salami and crackers from 6p-7p all included. It was perfect! Also the rooms were nice and clean. The bathroom was spotless, AC worked great! Showers were perfect. Linens were nice and clean. Of course the rooms were a little dated but we were truly happy with our stay. There is also a pool and jacuzzi outside, we didnt get in it but they looked clean. Continental breakfast was great! Waffles, yogurt, granola, cereal, coffee, juice, pastries etc. The eggs were not good but everything else was fantastic. I would definitely stay here again if I was around this area! Thank you!

We had a fabulous time staying at this hotel, from the moment we got there to the moment we left we were treated like family, and all of the staff went out of their way to make us happy and comfortable. Specifically Sierra and Tricia made our stay remarkable. The wine and cheese served in the evening was a wonderful addition to our stay. The room was very comfortable, and we enjoyed our balcony. Breakfast was delicious and served nicely. We would definitely return to this hotel in the future!

Overall a nice stay Pros — Nice, clean, modern rooms. We had a ground floor unit with a patio leading to the pool, which was a nice bonus. There is a hot tub and a grassy area to lounge. Good breakfast with a lot of options from waffles to omelettes to pastries. The room had a mini fridge, a coffee maker and a big TV with lots of channels. Nice proximity to Avenue of the Giants and the Eel river. Staff was nice and handled things professionally. I didn't use them but I did see a small gym, a laundry room, pet potty area, and decent vending machines. Cons — Check in is not until 4pm and after waiting we were checked into a room that had still not been cleaned from the last visitor. Staff sorted everything out fairly quickly but, it was still inconvenient after driving all day with kids. +The pool was pretty dirty, which the kids didn't mind but, was a definite no go for me… Fyi — Not a lot of quick food/restaurant options nearby. Locals are not very friendly with tourist.

This hotel was clean and the staff was extra friendly. The room was clean and smelled nice. It was spacious and they were very accommodating in moving us closer to other family who were also staying. The breakfast was typical Continental style with a view of the pool. We didn't have a chance to swim but the pool was heated and clean. We didn't have many options for dinner and ended up at a bar with the kids.

We WILL be staying here again. This is the best place to stay if you have dogs the gals at the desk even gave us a goody bag with local emergency veterinarians in the area and places to avoid that had been contaminated with blue green algae. They gave us a pet blanket, water bowl, treats and made us feel like this was the first place that not only welcomed pets but celebrated them. Oh and we had a room with a little balcony area too.

These wonderful ladies gave us a pet car bag with a pet sheet and water bowl with treats. Plus this room is amazing. What a place to stop after 12 hrs of being in the road. There was local wine tasting-free with cheese, bread, and meats — free still. Redwood merlot was amazing I hope I find the cabernet in the same label.

I stay in a lot of hotels for business and leisure both. And this BW was very nice, it was clean, quiet, well managed, and truly comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone. It might cost a bit more but it’s worth it!

I've stayed here with several friends while we paddle the Eel River about 4 times now. More expensive than other places in Garberville, but for that you get the breakfast bar and wine/snacks in the evening. Nice rooms, clean, safe. Great HQ for our paddle trips. Walk to restaurants. I am sure I'll be back. I feel like the rates are a little steep, but I keep going back.

Nicest hotel in Garberville by far. Clean and tidy rooms, pool and spa, and very good evening cheese and wine on the house. They get full during local events so make sure you plan ahead to book your reservation.

It was a fairly expensive hotel, and that would have been OK if we had received good service. We had a reservation, but when we came, they had given our room with the mountain view away to someone else and gave us a pool side view. Then they gave us a room that was supposedly non-smoking, but it definitely smelled like smoke. They exchanged the room for us. Then everything was fine. For the price, it was not quite as nice as I would have expected. They did have a good continental breakfast, though.

Everything was OK, just seemed a bit expensive. The room was clean, and we liked the balcony. Do take advantage of the wine and cheese reception in the evening, that was a nice touch. Breakfast had cooked eggs, bacon and sausage as well as the typical waffle bar/continental breakfast offerings. Service was friendly. This was our final night of a 9 night road trip exploring Southern Oregon and NorCal (No, NOT Jefferson) and the room was $30 more expensive than all the other places we stayed, all with a 4/5 star rating or better. Just saying…

It's a comfortable stay, but still overpriced. It had two sinks in our two-double room. A good breakfast with hot eggs and sausage in addition to the usual. The first room did smell like smoke, but they gave us a new room that was clean. We reserved a mountain view online, but ended up with "pool access" instead.

Weve stayed here before but I am no longer a fan of this hotel anymore. It wasn't as clean as I remembered it. For the price it's not worth it in my opinion. The doors don't close all the way, they are warped. The wallpaper is coming off the walls, the doors were filthy with black finger prints, a dark layer of dust covered the door ledges. The bathtubs looked dirty and they didn't drain properly. Also had a bad experience with the front desk staff… so needless to say we won't be returning to this hotel next time we are in the area.

My Sister and I stayed at BW for one eveinng while visiting family and bedside lamp did not work properly. Also one of the beds had a huge dip in it as if someone had jumped on the bed excessively. Suggest mattress be replaced. The hotel is getting older and could use some upgrading. Cleanliness of room was okay, but found a few places where cleaning could have been more thorough. Breakfast was good, but more low carb items would be preferable. Staff was always friendly and helpful.

My mom and I stayed on Tuesday the 28th of November and found everything very clean (someone had smoked in our room, not sure the manager can really prevent that though) They had a great Continental Breakfast in a very nice spacious dinning room… beautiful scenery as well. Wine and cheese offered in the evening as well… most important, great customer service… one of the maids saw my mother struggling to carry items into the elevator, she stopped what she was doing and came over and helped us get our items into the room. From 1st contact with the manager Shyanne (spelling) to check out it was a great experience. Thank you for making our road trip enjoyable.

The Best Western Hotel in Garberville was a pleasant stay. Passing through the California Redwoods on vacation having a comfortable bed nice pool and jacuzzi. And a very attentive and welcoming staff.

I was very impressed with this Best Western Plus hotel. It was better than I expected. The room was of course clean but it was big and roomy. I liked having the extra sink and counter space in addition to the sink and counter in the toilet/shower room. Having the snacks/wine for the "happy hour" was most enjoyable, and having the complimentary breakfast was great to get our day started. The breakfast had many items to choose from which was more than we expected. I would stay here again, and definitely recommend it to others. I did not use the pool/jacuzzi but I would have if we had arrived earlier in the afternoon.

Beware of Garberville. This hotel is nice (although staff seemed young and just barely trained) but the town it's in has a big homeless problem. When it began to get dark people began milling around the town, many of them clearly on drugs and many just young homeless people wandering around. Many young people have dogs with them and just mill about creating a somewhat scary environment. The balcony lock in our room looked as if it had been reinforced outside the norm of a regular hotel lock which made me feel like there was really a problem here. The entire town seemed strange and has a very negative vibe to it. I would never have stayed there that night if anything close was available.

I loved everything about this place except the noise! Don't sleep near the pool or treat side you won't get any sleep! Loved the rest of my stay the place is very nice.

I booked a room with my credit card for my husband and he paid cash next day. Had to get authorization form and send copies of my cards Which was a bit of a hassle because the lady didn't know how to work the email n insisted on me just faxing which was fine. Paid cash the next day so my room charge of $200 should have been released. I proceeded to call the front desk and this girl name Erika with bad customer service said we release the hold as soon as you pay in cash. I said it shows as a charge so she tells me I have to call my bank because they are responsible for the hold not being released. I told her that Makes no sense she replies that's what we are suppose to tell our customers. Really? So I called my bank and they were confused because it was indeed a charge and they have no control over holds n charges made by hotel. I then called the hotel back and asked for a manager Erika said there is a manager by won't be in till late tomorrow night. So I asked her to help me fax me my receipts. Then she asked me for all my info. Once she found it she says Oh did you say the charge was $200? I said yes n she said The charge is for smoking weed in the room. Excuse me no one smoked in the room. She says yes you did and it is against the law to smoke in hotel. I proceeded no one smoked in the room. My husband was in the background upset at the allegation and yelled that's b. S.

I was very happily surprised with this place! Front desk staff was very welcoming and friendly. The room, as well as the entire hotel was very clean and well maintained. The pool and grounds very nicely landscaped and kept up. The beds were comfortable, it was quiet, had a great view of the mountain, and a good sized balcony to sit on. Well located in the heart of the redwood forest, so it was easy to get to everything! I am very rarely so impressed with a hotel; I had to write a review. Plus, the complimentary wine and cheese (5:30-7:30) made the sticker price not so bad! I highly recommend this hotel if you're traveling to the area! Pool and hot tub were very nice and well maintained also.

We enjoyed our stay here at BW in Garberville, Ca. Breakfast was great as it had a lot of choices for breakfast food. Loved the Complementary wine and cheese in the late afternoon. Our beds were very comfy. Had all the right amenities in the room for us. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but our close proximity to the street was a little bit noisy. Maybe if I had a room in the back it would of been a little quieter.

Here's the deal. We all love travelling. But the things we have to go through to get on the road is far too difficult and overall not worth the time and money. Then there's Best Western plus. The experience is just so much nicer and simple. In fact, staying at those hotels is more enjoyable than my everyday life. You know it's good when you get home and feel lileb you're life is lacking. The location is literally the most perfect and well though out. The drives to near shops are all under 5 minutes. The service is great, and the rooms are spacious and cozy. Overall, these hotels are essential to the maximum vacation experience!

Overall room quality and breakfast were as I would expect from a Best Western, as I have stayed at many. I was most impressed with the balcony view. The tree covered hills in the background, being in fresh air, and just enjoying the relaxing atmosphere to watch a beautiful sunset was better than usual. Very recommendable location.

Clean rooms and a great location for a one night stop over. However, be prepared to be patient with check in staff. Our reservation was for a room with pool view with a deck. First try, ground floor, no view. Second try, view of street and parking lot, third try would not be ready till 7pm and it was 5pm. Fourth attempt, we were put in a room with a tree growing into the balcony. We gave up. Otherwise, it was clean, and since we were in a tree, it was cool and quiet.

Love this place. Staff were all very nice. The wine and cheese reception is such a nice plus. Marilyn who ran it on Wednesday 6-21-17 was the best. Friendly, made sure all the guests had whatever they needed whether it was directions to a place to eat, some more snack mix or just a friendly hug. Love that lady. I've been bringing my grandchildren here for the past 10 years. And plan on coming back again soon.

Lovely room with so many extra services provided. The complimentary wine and cheese was a lovely touch and the hot breakfast and delicious coffee exactly what we needed ahead of a long road trip. For motorcyclists they offer a piece of wood for the side stand and a clean face washer to wipe the bike down. Only issue we had (Which I didn't report but should have) was that the shower didn't get more than warm. Beds were very comfortable and the hotel was within easy walking distance of restaurants and a bar.

This Best Western was an amazing hotel in a totally amazing location. We had a balcony room overlooking The mountains, and of course it was surrounded by beautiful redwood trees. The lady who checked us in was the nicest, most pleasant person and she really made us feel so very welcome. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Good clean rooms with clear policy for pets and no hassles. Checkin was easy and so was checkout. Parking for car was a bit less at times but it was memorial day so it was understandable. The pet exercise area as they called it, is a bit small for the number of rooms and the number of dogs that land up staying there.

Beautiful hotel rooms! Loved the outdoor pool & hot tub. Everything within walking distance :-) The wine & cheese reception was an added bonus and "Marilyn Merlot" made the evening complete. Hands down the most friendliest staff on my whole journey along the CA coast! You must stay here! BIG Kudos to the staff.

Friendly, courteous, and helpful staff. Wine and cheese in the afternoon was a nice relaxing time to meet and visit with others staying at the motel. Room was clean, quiet, and had a good bed for a good night's sleep. One of the staff carried my luggage to my upstairs room for me — — most appreciated! A nice stay at Garbersville — — will definitely stay again when in the area again.

We stayed here one night on our road trip up the coast. The service was super friendly and the place had some nice amenities. First one was when we checked in they said they were having wine and cheese in the dining area. We went to check it out and it was stocked! 3 different cubed cheeses, salami, various crackers, snack mix, Brie, baguette slices, sodas and red and white wine. Needless to say we used that as our dinner since it was a holiday and the town didn't offer much of anything else since places were closed. Rooms were good sized and clean. The staff really makes this place! The front desk staff was so welcoming and informative too, during the night something happened on 101 and the road was closed they had fliers printed up and let everyone know. Luckily we got through that part the day before and we're going in the other direction but it was nice of them to give people the heads up! Breakfast was hot and fresh with lots of choices and included for free. I used my reward points for this stay I believe it was 20, 000 points.

Amazing place to stay. We stayed 3 nights actually. Spent some time checking out the redwoods, almost a full day at the heated pool and delicious hot tub. The rooms and common areas were clean and nice. One of the beds could have done with newer sheets, but not sure they were just old, or used. And we could have simply asked to have them changed. The cheese and wine was cool. The breakfast was cool. Simply great.

Front desk was very friendly, facilities are great and rooms are kept up to par. Bathrooms seem newly remodeled so very nice. Small town does close early so if you're passing through and need a bite to eat good luck! Pool and spa/hot tub are outdoors and there are even rooms that have a gate from their patio to the pool so pretty cool there! Surroundings of this town are a little sketchy especially at night, not the hotels fault just something to be aware of when you're staying. Price over the quality of stay is a little high, thus my rating for 3 stars.
