24 hrs convenient store across the street. The heated pool. Staff very nice. Housekeeping need to speak English also.

Dry clean and spacious! Loved the 2 pools and our room was facing it! The Cafe for breakfast was the best. The waitress even remembered us! Great service!

This place is dirty and made reservations months ago for room with a view. Over 500 a night given room on first floor with views of shrubs. Bathroom is disgusting. Actually everything is. Very old and outdated. Broken lock on door. Called for repair and no one even came. Nothing was done to make anything right. They just don’t care. Define someplace else to stay. Very disappointing and a very frustrating experience. So sad.

I would highly recommend Margaritaville in Palm Springs because outside of my Conference, we had excellent service, the best time in the pool area. Parking was close to our room. Lost and Found Services did an speedy job returning a misplaced phone. The food was excellent!

Good food but the cabana service description was very misleading. Paying $600 for a table with bottle service should include being able to order food and comfortable chairs. I paid for a poolside cabana but ended up at picnic table. Not cool.

It was nice but would recommend better memo of the only hotel restaurant. The room make up mirrors are awkwardly placed.

Unfortunately the Managment was terrible. I have written and called but still no response to issues we had during our stay. It leaves me no choice but to leave a terrible review. The features they promise was not at all what we found upon our arrival. Very disappointed and will not recommend to anyone.

Spa service was amazing! The gift shop was not that great at all compared to other Margaritavilles!

Stayed there for Thanksgiving. Daughter is vegan. Would not accommodate her for food. Would not even make her a salad. 3 employess advised us other items other than Thanksgiving menu would be available. We ate elsewhere evey day. Obviously Guests needs are not of importance. In addition, Bartender at pool lacked in public service essentials. Margaritas were the worst Ive ever had, and at $14.00 a pop. Well very Disappointing. I won't normally complain, but this place needs new management. Contacted Corporate office, however only response was that someone would reach out to me. Be careful in the shower, our room shower base was concaved and extremely slippery. Slipped and hit my elbow on the wall. Very dangerous. Overall, I would not recommend this place period. Far as Im concerned, They should refund my money. Stayed at many resorts this last year. This was the worst.

Beautiful / Clean & respectful resort! Many areas to take photos! Great food & walking distance of restaurants and shopping! Employees were VERY nice, and DJ specifically treated my crew at the pool like we were the only ones there! He was funny, and kept us never empty on drinks! He’s a keeper! Only recommendations — nachos are needed on the menu… Nachos pair perfect with margaritas! &&& a hotel shuttle would be amazing to use to airport and nearby attractions. Uber worked fine, but just another hotel perk in my opinion! Would stay there again!

Had a great time at this resort. Loved the atmosphere and Buffet references. The pool bar was great and drinks hearty. The room was clean and nice. Comfortable bed. All in all…had a great time!

We enjoyed our stay here. The check in was smooth with helpful staff. Pool is nice and good food at JWB grill and cafe. Our server at breakfast was Errol and he was great. Other servers need to up their game as service overall was slow and cocktails around the pool were small and pricy. Had to send back drinks as they didn’t seem to have any rum in them!. Very nice hotel and beautiful spa.

My recommendation is that this place is paradise! Very relaxing atmosphere, love the pool area. Went for my 40th birthday weekend. We will for sure be back.

Great getaway place. Super friendly staff, very clean and tranquil. Very nice updated rooms. Store and coffee shop only opened 7am-1pm. Great outdoor eatting restaurant and 5o'clock pool bar n snacks available also.

Best fish tacos. Nice pool, too.

This was hands down one of the worst experiences I have ever had. This place is expensive and I was expecting so much more. We had reservations and the room they assigned us to had a broken front lock and a broken patio lock. There was a huge amount of black mold all over the bathroom and the shower was leaking on to the bathroom floor. The hotel was extremely noisy and I couldn't enjoy my sleep. The pool area was a hot mess with fire ants everywhere and horrible customer service. It took over an for anyone to acknowledge us and then it look forever to receive 1 drink and our food. Our food was over cooked and hard which was not pleasant to eat. There wasn't enough seats and every employee was extremely rude except for the front desk. I will never stay here again after everything I experienced. It was disgusting and definitely not worth the $200-300+ a night!

Do not stay here. Awful customer service. The hotel is next to the street and all you can hear are cars passing by. It sounds like you are sleeping next to a freeway in a tent. Not one bit relaxing. Also, many of the patios face a wall and a dirty back street. The advertisement is very misleading. Honestly, I have stayed many places and this is more like a 2 star hotel. I think many 2 star hotels would actually have better accommodations and customer services. Do not let the “new hotel” vibe deceive you. I canceled my reservation within the hour I got there.

Great room size friendly staff only bad thing is they told us the jacuzzi is open and it’s not and they were 45 mins late checking us in even tho we called ahead they also had no pack and play for my daughter and the ice machine isn’t working.

I’m staying here now (opening week) and really would not recommend. The staff is completely indifferent to fixing the broken TVs, which haven’t worked correctly since we arrived. No one told us but apparently also aren’t doing housekeeping, although they agreed to come by at a specified time today to at the very least take the trash and bring some more K-cups. When we got back to the room, no such luck, and apparently the engineering and housekeeping staff have left. Would be a good idea to heat the pool, as well, since it’s too cold for anyone to get in. It’s not close to anything, just across the street from 7-11 and a nudist hotel.

They have a pool table and a few different very nice lounge areas and great bars we love to go get away together there… I can't to check out the Jacuzzi… thats next!

My daughter checked in with her fiance Friday evening on Valentine's Day. The A/C in their Room did not work. They were not even offered to be moved to another Room, nor were they given the credit they were promised. When they checked out yesterday they were overbilled by another $400. Front desk was rude and would not try to work with them at all. Her fiance is in the Marines, and the fact that they treated them so horribly is shameful. I wouldn't let my dead dog stay at this hotel.

Beautiful hotel that we got to experience at a woman’s day conference. The grounds were so pretty with fabulous inground fire features scattered throughout the property. The lunch was so delicious and the service was good. They have an indoor and outdoor patio that is just gorgeous. Looking forward to having lunch here in the future with my husband to show him this beautiful hotel.

Everything looked great by looking at the photos on the Marriott website when I booked the room. But it was all lipstick on a pig. Maybe some of the other buildings were nicer, but not the one we stayed in—building 4. You know how when you are choosing between two options when you are decorating, the cheap one and the expensive one that you really want? Well, they chose the cheap one, EVERY TIME. And most of it is starting to fall apart because of poor upkeep. I'll start with the common areas:
The pools — probably the nicest part of our stay. The staff was generally friendly, but not very present. There was always a lot of stuff floating in the pool, leaves, hair, general debris. The pool chairs often had bird poop on them, and would not be cleaned over night. The water is frigid in the front pool and the hot tub looked like soup. The halls of building 4 — — They generally look dirty and dingy. There would be trash on the ground, it wouldn't get picked up. It never looked like the hallway was vacuumed for the entirety of our 5 night stay. The staff area near the parking lot door and ice machine smelled like a pot grow room every time we walked by. Literally, you would be overpowered by the smell of fresh cut weed when you walked by. Our room — — 4126 has absolutely the worst bed I have ever had the displeasure of sitting on, let alone attempting to sleep on.

Great resort pool with food and bar service. Public spaces are refurbished and very well designed. A classic, retro, mid mod Palm Springs resort.

The staff here is fantastic, all very professional and know the meaning of customer service. Great location, rooms and pool.

Great place even in the off season. Not too crowded and close to downtown! Nice rooms — beds a little outdated/ wished for a better mattress. But the atmosphere, pools, and staff were great!

I felt this hotel was 4 out of 5 stars. It was clean, comfortable bed, great shower pressure. The pool was great. We ate breakfast, had eggs Benedict, excellent! Bloody Mary was also good. I would stay here again.

Awesome pool, room and staff. The only thing that wasn’t pleasant was the odor of the water when we showered. It smelt like sewer water. Not sure if it was the hotel or the local water plant so I can’t give them a bad grade in that.

Disappointing stay over Memorial Weekend 2019. Staff had no control over other guests. People were partying in the pool, screaming and making it of noise until well after 11pm. We ate in the restaurant at 6:30 on the Saturday night and it was so noisy outside we had to eat inside — not what we’d planned. My two children even commented on the mess that was left around the pool area from the previous night! This was meant to be a highlight of a 14 night Californian road trip but we’ve had a better stay at a Holiday Inn! When we mentioned the noise to reception they just shrugged it off as this is what happens over a holiday weekend — not good enough! Shame it wasn’t noted on your website when we booked as I’d have chosen to stay elsewhere.

Comfortable place and the food at the resort is great. I would definitely come back in the future!

The staff are great the room is clean. But the pool and the jacuzzi are dirty and jacuzzis water not even hot, we called a maintenance guy but he just looked at it and didn’t do anything there is another jacuzzi but it’s not working. A little disappointed ☹️, the reason we booked this hotel is because of the pools/hot tub amenities. And the water is so dirty.

It’s tired and it’s time for a thorough do over. This mid-century structure is a gem and I hope that Marriott Corp will enhance the decor and keep it true to the era. Staff was very nice but I had a crappy second floor room overlooking the parking lot with a balcony door that did not lock. No privacy please or make the room placard for the door. All but the first day I had no facecloths. Pillows were way too soft, the mattress was nice but the king bed must have been broken on the left side because it sunk way down when I sat on that side of the bed. I really do hope they give this property the makeover it deserves because it’s a classic! We’ll be back again next year and I hope I get a better room than the one I had this year.

Nice place good food. I'd give three stars because the rooms could be better and they have a few glitches with service. It's convenient for me so I'd go again. Not a bad quick get away spot.

We had a nice stay here during the summer "off season". Despite the 120 degree heat, it was still a great stay and place to visit. There is something to be said about visiting while there is a lower volume of people in the area. I'm guessing during the hustle and bustle of winter that Palm Springs and the Riviera are packed. The pools were beautiful, the drinking water was stocked at most of the cabanas, and the grounds were very nicely groomed and cleaned as was our room. Some of the older buildings in the resort do not have an elevator FYI, it was not a problem for us although some of our luggage was rather large. Overall a beautiful desert oasis and we loved getting breakfast at Koffi and supper at Eight4nine.

They clearly can not handle a full-house! Check in was at 4 pm but the room was ready almost at 6 pm after multiple calls to the manager. Be prepared to loose few hours of your precious time on your vacation if you are going for a long weekend… The place however is very nice.

Has a great time, but for room rate I would have liked an ungraded bathroom! Nice large room and a standard bathroom. Otherwise great stay. Will be black just not on a holiday weekend. Too many young folk for us.

What can I say… from the mold in the bathroom to the outdated 70s furniture to the silky water in the pool. Never in my right mind will I ever stay here again. I was upgraded to the one bedroom suite… trust me not an upgrade, as the room was more like a Motel 6. I didn't sleep at night from the squicking roof as the guest upstairs were walking around all night. Very thin walls, so if you are looking for a relaxing place to stay in Palm Springs this is not the place to stay.

I really want to give five stars, but because of a few things I felt it necessary to do just 4. We did arrive and get a room upgrade from a basic to a mini suite, as well as drink tickets for mama (me), but sometime over night the air in the room stopped blowing cold and it was 80 in our room when we woke up. Probably explained the tossing and turning I had all night and why I kept going from hit to cold. Also, the sprinklers went off in the middle of the night where ch would have been OK had one not been broken and pointing right at our patio window. Those issues aside, we had exceptional service! Everyone was pleasant, helpful, attentive and a pure joy to interact with. I was a little surprised to never see more than one or two people at the bar at s time, but he bartender was always courteous, smiling and made a great drink. There are a lot of great hotels in Palm Springs, and while there are a few minor issues they could improve on, the service is top notch. We did eat in their restaurant for breakfast twice (included in our room) and the food was delicious and service there also excellent. The lobby has many areas for sitting and people watching as well as a pool table to play as you want.

Gorgeous hotel with amazing service and a beautiful atmosphere. Took so many wonderful pictures and the view was outstanding. Especially loved their authentic Mexican furniture and colorful decor. There was a mini fridge, safe, and a lovely assortment of shampoo, soap, and lotion. Beds were super comfortable and service was phenomenal from the moment we arrived. Food was also incredibly delicious and affordable — they bring it right to the room for a small fee. Perfect getaway with friends or family. Absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a great hotel in riviera.

A full-service resort with legacy of the mid-century guests who frequented here. Spacious rooms surround lovely pool area. Great food and drinks and convenient to Uptown shops and eateries.

Very very stressful experience with booking with this hotel. The company lies about the fees and total costs. I had to call many times to resolve an issue that they created. They have a lot of hidden surprises when it comes to fees. Ashley the manager on site helped resolve the issue with the fees however I again had false fees when checking out and had to resolve more mistakes they have made. Then my card was charged 200 more dollars I had to wait a week for charges to be resolved. The room wasn’t up to standards. It wasn’t very clean I would bring own sheets considering there’s are stained and nasty looking. I had to clean bathroom myself bc there standards are low. Shower had mold and bathroom sinks stunk really bad. I used cleaning wipes on switches and phones and remotes and the wipes were black! Super gross for a hotel that is supposed to be a 4 Star! Not happy Now the food service at the pool was a joke! We waited an hr and half after ordering food until we asked a server which was told no one ever put order in. Waited another hr for drinks which again no one put order in for. Everything that could go wrong did! The pool water was disgusting and murky. Very unhappy! Was a once a year girls getaway and we will never return there.

The Rooms are very clean some rooms come with balconies *24-hour Room Service, & Excellent Eating spots within the Hotel Grounds (ask to be Served by Waiter *Carlos he Will Make Your Dinning Experience 5*) the hotel has a Bar, Gift Shop, Pool Table area, Spa, & Massages, Children Friendly (you may request a Baby Crib) This was our second stay at the Riviera Overall My Family & I had an Exceptionable Visit, & We do Look Forward to Returning for Years to come.

This was a cool resort but there were issues with the hotel room: sliding door wasn't working properly and some of the molding was coming off the walls. Also it was difficult to find the rooms, the place is huge! The pool was cool and overall the experience was fun.

Hotel is nice but staff need more training at customer service and knowledge of where they are working! One of the staff Andy, was a total nightmare and made our check in hell on earth, rather than helping, he just disappeared and left us in reception. Luckily the lovely Camille and Will helped us check in — much more seamlessly and even upgraded our room. The rooms are nothing special and also the food and breakfast is tricky and not that delicious. I will not be back and would not recommend this place.

The hotel is very stylish, boutique style. The rooms are starting to show their age. They do not have storage for your clothing, so you have to keep it in your luggage. Carpets are a bit dirty and the halls are in need of vacuuming. The room service was always late in the afternoon. The kids had fun at the pool. We'll not stay here again.

Enjoyed the experience at hotel. The front desk was very welcoming and the rooms were very spacious and clean. The hot tubs were fun. The pool water was a little cold but the overall experience at the hotel was fun. The best part was the location as it is very close to the airport and downtown.

The property presents well from the curb, through the lobby and in the public spaces. The design is quirky but crisp and has a substantial feel in these areas. We had a fairly large room in terms of square footage, but it wasn't the best use of space, just 15 feet between the bed and the bathroom door rather than 10 feet. The high-touch points in the room (corners on furniture, hinges, and light switches) showed some wear, and the HVAC system in the bathroom made more noise than it was effective. On the definite plus side, the restaurant that served breakfast (Cafe Palmetto) was excellent both for service and quality of cuisine.

Dirty, understaffed, sliding door falling apart. None of the staff greet you when you are in the resort. Anyone can walk into the rooms off the street. There is minimal security. The front pool should be adults only. It’s overrun with obnoxious kids. The second pool should be for families. The wait for pool service was unacceptable. I found one bartender that cared to make us comfortable and check on us. The staff just stand in the shade by the bar rather than mingle checking in with guests. The food was great and the restaurant and front desk staff were amazing. The decor is showing wear and just looks beat. The only reason I gave the property 2-stars was because of the Spa and Restaurant.

The resort is nice. Good pool does a great job of being family friendly and adult friendly. Service is good. The rooms are poor to fair. Our AC did not work and took 2 calls to get fixed, the bathtub had a bath mat that was all cut up. TV was pretty substandard. The food was pretty but looked better than it tasted (kind of like the hotel in general). For the nightly in seasin rate they are high cost for what you get. Overall if you get a steep discount not a bad.

This hotel seems nicely restored/decorated, but it definitely has staffing and management issues that reflect negatively. 1) Bugs in the bathroom. I saw these tiny critters Friday night on my bathroom counter, so I called Saturday morning and was assured they'd send someone out to take a look. When I returned in the evening, someone had been there, but the bugs were still there. I went to the front desk about several issues (see below) and spoke to a supervisor who said she would have it cleaned and taken care of. Later when I returned, obviously they had cleaned, but the bugs were still there. 2) Facilities: housekeeping and maintenance need more people evidently. Crumbs going up the stairs and through the hallway were there for over 24 hours. The public bathrooms were dirty and the trash overflowed repeatedly. I found them like this over a 12 hour period and even after notifying restaurant staff. 3) Restaurant: management issue when there is plenty of staff, but no one is on the floor and checking for refills, and making sure guests are happy. Some great servers, but limited support. I actually walked in and sat down for about five minutes on Saturday at lunch time and didn't see a single employee: no host, no server, no bus person, no manager. 4) the room: this is more of a design issue but the AC/heat vents need deflectors so the air doesn't blow right on the bed. I was sick this weekend and recovering from bronchitis, and the air blowing on me at night made it worse.

3rd day here, pools are ice cold and hot tubs are Luke warm. Shower is a joke, no water pressure. When calling room service you have to leave a message. Food is great, staff is overly friendly. Room is showing it’s age. Great Decor! I have a few more days here. Wont be back.

Good location, fantastic pool, and recently renovated. Rooms are adequate, with balconies and good views. Bathrooms are cramped and dated. Decor throughout is mid century mod. Great lobby bar with live music and a chill vibe. Fantastic service.

I was only visiting but it was SO PRETTY HERE! The hotel's restaurant had great food and great service. Pool area was awesome and very pretty. Private canopy /beds along side the pool that I assume can be reserved/purchased. Bar service by pool. The room was beautiful! Small balcony with patio seating.

My husband and I were looking for a hotel that provides a resort feel! And this place delivers, it felt like we were another world away from the real world (Silicon Valley) This hotel gave us such an amazing getaway, great pool, drinks by the pool, the food by the pool, seeing a theme here… They have restaurants on site and the food is delish — especially their breakfast restaurant The decor is this Instagrammer's dream come true, from a pretty bar/lounge, to a pool table, different little lounge areas and an actual lounge… It's abundant in activities, peace and quiet but is also known to host fun pool parties for younger folks :-)

Just returned and what a disappointment. I am a travel professional and had great times at the Riviera years back. The room itself was just dirty, worn with stains and so dark on the first floor. I requested first floor b/c of my knee injury close to conference area. I re injured my knee walking so far over and over from building 4 and actually fell down on my knee in room while trying to turn off room alarm clock that I did not set at 6am b/c it was so dark and lost balance. Day 1 Room service order was so late I could not eat it b/c conference started. Had to get door hang menu from front desk each evening and wait for it to arrive.
The so called "buffet" in restaurant for dinner was not a meal. Pasta with butter and red sauce was not a meal. No salad, bread or protein. A member of our group found a hair in hers and we all stopped eating and asked for refund. After a long winded conversation with manager about how conference personnel requested that dinners stay under $20. We all left very famished. We ordered pizza in bar area. Nice, but manager at buffet told us there was not another place to eat.
Day 2 — Was in shower with shampoo in hair and shower head fell off and water sprayed to the side. I was desperate and used the small glass cup in bathroom to rinse hair so I could get to conference to hear my wonderful friend and client speak.
Just a nightmare experience and asked for refund or reduction in room and reception could not revise.

Clean but slightly worn rooms reflecting old school Palm Springs glam. Air conditioning, beds and showers were comfortable. Food served in conference rooms was fresh, plentiful and tasty. Location was excellent, close to downtown Palm Springs restaurants and sights. Perfect choice for a professional team retreat. Off season prices provided great value for the money. Would definitely come again.

The place is definitely interesting. Not super luxury nor impeccably clean but we feel that they are making efforts. The large swimming pool, the musical ambience, the casual style and the retro architecture make it a point of attachment and give you the desire to return quickly.

Beautiful Hotel Ideally located, very large pool with lemon water at the edge of the pool. Very nice staff. The pool closes at 10pm, sauna Gym. Several parking lots to park at the bottom of your room. The decoration is sublime I highly recommend it!

The Hotel is beautifully decorated, ideal for relaxing in the large swimming pool and spa. The rooms are very nice and clean. The hotel in general is quiet and relaxing. I highly recommend the establishment.

Beautiful hotel. Great atmosphere. However we had a Grand suite for the weekend and the room had an odor. We complained and they tried to fix the problem with deodorizer, but didn't seem to help the problem. Carpet needs to be replace. Other than that great hotel.

We honestly had a great time at the Sunday pool party here The staff at the pool for the most part was great Miguel was very helpful with towels and chairs even finding us an umbrella when the place was packed. Rubin helped us get an early drink order even though the pool bar wasn't open yet and the restraunt inside was swamped with customers. I feel for these kids as I read the other reviews.
It seems management needs to step up and get this place in order. We have heard complaints about the unfinished rooms since it reopened 10 years ago. SPG as a chain should have had the money and know how to finish the job here They seem to have refreshed all the common areas and filled the pool deck with money making cabanas and covered lounge beds. It seems they are Making their money on the DDD — drink dance and dive patrons — bachelorettes and splash party visitors.
Their expensive rooms surrounding the pool seem to be maintain but don't go near the outer limits. For their companies reputation (if there is a good one for SPG) they should just close off rooms and services that they are not staffed to handle Or invested in.
Palm Springs hotels are complaining about the rise of air bob and this is exactly the reason. Why not Stay in a home that is well maintained cleaned top to bottom then invite your rowdy friends to meet you poolside anywhere in town on the splash bus.

Rooms were nostalgic and clean. Pool and spa were easily accessible. The friendly and helpful staff was amazing in our accommodations. My only reason for not giving this hotel a higher rating was the air conditioning in the room was unbearable. The a/c units are outdated and couldn't keep up with the 111 degree temps outside. If they had a new a/c system, we would stay again.

Stayed in a Junior Suite. Room was comfortable and clean. Pool was fun. The Landing (Lobby) Bar had great service and fabulous food (crab cakes & sausage pizza). Minor repairs needed in common areas. Such as rusted soap dispenser not connected to a soap container in bathroom next to the spa and some firniture needed cleaning/fixing. Staff are courteous and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Great resort to stay to relax. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Luxury in the entire hotel at great prices! If you vile find a flaw: pool slightly dirty and dated but overall I would stay there again.

Very nice rooms, but the bathroom — although very good — has a little outdated facilities. Swimming pools and gym without any faults.

This place is great. The lobby and common areas are updated and modern. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have a nice pool with wait staff that are prompt and attentive. We didn't stay overnight but from the time we spent at the pool and bar, I definitely would stay overnight and will be doing so the next time we're in Palm springs. Highly recommend this place!

Pool was amazing. Bathrooms were easily accessible for the event. Despite the large number of people, lines were short for everything.

Room and service are great! Unfortunately, we came during Splash House party weekend so we weren't able to check in early. In addition, weed and alcohol smell is very strong. Parking isn't too bad. However, the layout of the hotel is very confusing, so hard to find the room.

Stayed midweek for a short get away and had a great time. Really enjoyed the pool and the rooms were nice. The pool is open late and there are fire pits on at night to enjoy a drink around. No complaints and I would definitely stay there again.

We recently sent a large group of 68 people to a conference and paid for their entire 4 day stay at the Riviera Palm Springs. The check we sent was over $27, 000. The guests were required to put a credit card on file for incidentals, which is customary for all hotels. That being said, one guest was charges $847.23 for her stay. They would not let her check out until she paid in full. She let them know that her company sent a check for her stay and they agreed to remove the charges from her credit card and was told that they would contact us to work out the payment details. I have left several messages with the accounting manager and two others in the accounting department and have not receive a phone call to date. Four weeks after checking out, the charges have been charged to her credit card once again. I am hoping that by posting this, they will contact us to resolve this matter.

Terrible customer service, false advertisement on bed sizes, box spring smaller than top mattress, management was rude and not accomodating at all, key cards all demagnetized upon room arrival, cappuccino was simply horrible (milk and coffee), parking: far, small stalls. Pool: too small — too crrowded. No Full size mirror in room… Overall: a very NEGATIVE experience. Really disappointed…

This is one of the fancier hotels in the area. Even driving by it, you'd think the rooms are fancy. Staff is nice, prices are reasonable, and they always have events here, which is convenient because you won't have to leave your hotel to experience all the fun!

I've come here before. I don't know what happened. Check in line so long it was an hour. We were very far away and our keys didn't work. Room service on the phone went to a machine all day, no live person, no room service. No towels by the pool all day. There was a wedding they said and they used all the towels. No one picked up front desk line or any line we called so we had to stand in a 40 minute check in line every time we had a question about our keys, towels etc. They looked understaffed. Pool area full of blowing plastic cups, empty food dishes — just a total mess no on was cleaning up. We used a groupon this time and our room was terrible and over the parking lot. Really disappointing.

First time stay. Obviously transitioning to SPG program. Still a work in progress but seems to be on the right track. Very unique property. Awesome pool area with fire puts and varied seating options. Would definitely come back!

Great ambience, drinks are over priced when you take into account serving size… fir instance I ordered a glass of wine and it was only half full for 8 dollars, the food at the side bar would be adequate if I was lazy at home, the flat bread was stale, mushrooms obviously from a jar. Service itself was subpar to much cheaper venues along the strip, one of us ordered a blue sapphire martini and the server came back asking if we meant blue label Johnnie Walker… for a martini?

Beautiful hotel… BUT, service was atrocious: -we didn't receive the coffee we ordered for 7am from room service the evening before. When we called at 7:20 they said there had been a mix-up but they would send it right up and it never arrived. They didn't answer our subsequent calls. -took 30 minutes to get a drink from the bar. A couple nearby who had ordered French Fries said it took 45 minutes for those to arrive. No one clearing tables outside of bar so multiple glasses and plates, other people's messes, etc. Were left there. -no lights on in the restroom next to the fitness center (they needed to be turned on by staff), so I had to go to the bathroom in the dark-at 9am. -room didn't get cleaned until nearly 5pm. Housekeeper did not replace coffee and coffee cups.

The hotel felt luxurious without feeling stuffy. The room was great with standard amenities. The breakfast buffet was mediocre but the wait staff was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the stay and would stay here again.

I recently stayed at the riviera palm desert my first Starwood experience and I have to say it's the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life! 1. Wine glasses and wine opener took over 24 hours to get to our room, with over 8 calls to the staff requesting. Instead We had to go to the restaurant and be charged extra corkage fee for using their glasses. 2. Service by the pool never showed up. The front office said they would send someone to take our order and after calling 3 times and over 2 hours later on the 4th call they said they could no longer service that specific pool. 3. We ended up at the main pool where the bar was open, only to have another 1 hour go by after we placed our order to get drinks, then another 45 minutes following to get our appetizers. 4. The rooms upon checkin were filthy and disgusting. Stains on all the tables and consoles. Dust everywhere. I had to call and request disinfectant and towels to wipe the place down myself. And even that too. 2 calls and an hour wait. 5. Our safe was in operable in all 4 rooms that we booked. Request to fix the safe also took 3 calls and next day service. 6. Spa, we paid premium spa prices to attend their spa, for the staff to ask all (11) of us to share lockers. The spa service is just as bad as the introduction of the spa from the staff. It's unbelievable everything we were experiencing. I felt we were trapped in the twilight zone of hotels. 7. After 8pm the staff is missing.

A new Starwood property, the Riverwalk lobby is a bit like the W, but the rooms are very much traditional classy. I didn't stay long enough to enjoy the many amenities offered, but the staff was very friendly and the experience was very pleasant.

High class with a friendly vibe, this is a Palm Springs mainstay. The pool is fantastic, lots of nooks and crannies to sit and lounge. The drinks are pricey but delicious, and there's a good menu of items they will bring to you poolside. The hotel decor is artsy and glamorous. I read it has changed ownership recently and there are further renovations planned.
