I have flown 3 times from this airport within the last 3 months. 100% of my flights have had issues that were insurmountable due to the small size of this airport. Fly from LAX and save yourself the headache of this crappy little airport.

The staff at this Extended Stay are great. They are very hospitable and know how to treat there guest. Anytime I needed help they were quick to help out and with a smile. Anytime I'm in Orange County this is where I will stay. I can't say enough good things about the staff that work here.

Marisela and Yesenia are fantastic! I stay here regularly and every time I stay I am greeted with big smiles and excellent customer service. My room is always clean and ready for my check in. They are always available to accommodate me if I ever need anything. I would recommend staying here if your in town for an extended stay in Orange County.

This hotel has good place to stayparking and is pet friendly hotel. Rooms has good facility of full kitchen, electric stove, and Oven, fridge. Rooms are of midsize Now the cons are, hotel does not provide any facility of nearby office pick and drop facility like other hotels in same area with similar cost. Hotel says they provide a breakfast but actually it's a grab-n-go type with no much options. No dishwasher in room! As overall, overpriced and based on facilities, staff support etc I am assessing and restricting rating to 3 to 3.5 only.

Second time I've stayed at an Extended Stay location and was disappointed. First time was in Phoenix, AZ, and then this one in Irvine, CA. The only good things about this location are: 1) Location 2) House cleaning cleaned bathroom well. What was bad? 1) Kichenette was out dated and looked like it was from the 70s. 2) No kitchen utensils, pans, dishes, or cups in room. 3) Bed was small 4) TV worked, but if you move it to view from another angle, it cuts out. 5) Channels did not match what was being shown on TV. 6) The shower curtain is stupidly short, so water is almost guaranteed to go directly to the bathroom floor instead of inside the tub when showering. 7) Door lock looked like it was bound to fail soon. 8) AC sounded like a jet engine firing up, every time it turned on to cool the room down. 9) Elevators smelled like weed. 10) Breakfast is a joke. Consisted of coffee and granola and that's about the extent of it.

Parking is quite sufficient. Close to many gyms. Breakfast is tiny cereal bars & packaged muffins & packets of instant oatmeal, as well as coffee. Beds firm. Need to be careful with shower curtain to avoid leaks. Efficient push-button toilet is quick & relatively quiet. Full-size fridge has regular top freezer compartment. Asked for & promptly received dishes, pots/pans, drain rack, extra pillow & blanket.

Excellent location, good access to major thoroughfares and local eateries. Priced good for Newport Beach. I had to ask several times for my prepaid room clean up and linens. Got done next day. I obtained a quiet room and happy with it. Pleasant staff. I will stay here again.

Very clean super helpful staff especially Nutzia at the front desk in the morning. She's always happy to hook up the extra towels and make sure the coffees hot!

Loved the kitchenette with full size fridge in the room. Everything was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The free breakfast was oatmeal, granola bars, and packaged muffins, along with coffee and tea. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

I am happy with the stay. Irvine is a beautiful place. They provided muffins and breakfast bars. The room did smell a little like cigarette though. However I can't blame the hotel for that. Probably just a bad guest.

You're getting a comfortable room at an affordable price. I must say it's a great location! Wife and I enjoyed our time at Newport beach, Laguna beach, Santa Monica, and Venice beach all with our room as a central location. Don't expect much more than the basics though (hotel claims to have "amenities you may have forgotten" but just laughed when I asked for lotion for my wife) Simply enough it's quality for affordability.

There is no house keeping for those that stay here! You must take linnens to front desk yourself to get new ones! No ice machines anywhere in the hotel and no ice makers in the freezer! The only waters they have are 2.50 at the vending machine individually. The breakfast only offers coffee breakfast bars and muffins! Still no water! Lovely rooms but they manage to do the least possible work they can!

Stay away from this motel. It's a notel. I wish I could give this place negative stars. This is a dump motel. They cannot afford to clean the carpets, rooms and keep the toilet working. It smells badly and the neighbors were very noisy (NOTE: A COMMON THEME THROUGHOUT THE ONE STARS IN THE REVIEWS FOR THIS MOTEL). When I see a majority of negative reviews but some with five stars it makes me wonder if the high marks come from friends of workers at the hotel or folks who work there and are using fake profiles to leave recommendations. Just a thought …

Wife and I stayed here for two weeks. Have you ever wanted to stay in a minimum security prison with prison guards dumber than the inmates? If you have, this is where you should book your next vacation. For some reason everyone the parking lot is full of cars with people living in them. In addition to that there is a collection of weirdos wandering around the parking lot 24/7. Of course it goes without saying that English is a second language with everyone working there. And none of the security features actually work, including an unsecured Wi-Fi system that is slower than a dial-up ISP from 1997. And all of this for the low low price of 110.00 per night. We've crossed this company off our list of places to stay.

Nice & cozy place to stay for a short while. It had a small kitchen (with electric stoves) as well which made it really nice. Also, it was the most affordable place with these amenities in Irvine area. The free complimentary internet is a bit slow (during peak hours) which was the only inconvenience.

Staff is amazing! Caitlin is always there to welcome you home with a smile! Marisela is a go to for any needs! The housekeepers are so nice as well and do a spotless job. Breakfast leaves much go be desired but the coffee is good and the atmosphere quiet.

Clean. Reasonable price. Good location. Kitchenette with dishes available at front desk. The beds were very hard, I like a firm mattress, but these were a bit beyond firm. The free Wi-Fi is horribly slow and is just a come on tomake you pay for a still too slow connection. Make sure to crank up the tethering data alotment for your phone if you need decent net access. Overall, I would stay there again.

The location was easy to find and the rooms were clean and tidy. This was my first experience at an Extended Stay and it was good. Check-in and check-out was easy enough.

I am on Day 8 of a 15-day stay, and there is no hot water in my room. I have spoken with managers on the phone and face-to-face. The managers have been responsive and shown genuine concern. They have contacted maintenance each time and tried multiple ways to repair pipes, check boilers, etc. And yet every single day is a different experience. One time a repair was successful for one day, and the next day it was back to lukewarm water. I was told they are experiencing high occupancy and maybe that's why they are running out of hot water. At their suggestion, today I got up 2 hours earlier, and there was ONLY COLD WATER. Thank you to the managers who have tried to address the issue, but after 8 days, the problem has not been solved. And now I am back home, having spent the entire 15 days living without reliable or consistent hot water. The problem was never resolved. As I checked out yesterday, I again spoke with a manager to remind them they have an ongoing problem that, if addressed, could leader to a better experience for future guests. I was told, "Another manager told me she went to your room and tested the water. She said it was hot. There's nothing else to do. " There was no ownership of the issue, and this manager pushed the plumbing issues on to some other manager who happened to be off premises. There was no indication they intend to repair their plumbing anytime soon. Bottom line, I will never stay with this chain again.

Came for a special occassion. I regret coming here. Not what I expected and service was horrible. No housekeeping and had to bring my dirty towels down to get new ones. I been reserved my room. I get there and did not have my room I reserved very disappointed. Would never recommend to anyone.

The room was fine and the staff was nice. The Wi-Fi was terrible and they wanted to charge an extra $5 to make it faster. I tried to do that but the system wouldn't work to let me upgrade so I was stuck less then 800kb. The alarm went off in the middle of the night and there was no acknowledgement or apologies from the hotel even when it was brought up at check out. Other than a Carl's Jr next door it is a bit of a walk to any other food options.

Horrible customer service! Carpet in rooms and hall way are dirty and the place smelled really bad. We booked for 5 people two rooms, and each room only had one queen size bed? Not sure how that was going to work. Since 3 of the 5 are teenagers. So two people had to sleep on the disgusting floor. When asked to get rooms with two bed the girl at the front desk was rude and told my husband there is nothing she can do about it and to deal with it. It wasn't her problem… We knew this was a low budget hotel but COME ON! I have been in better 1 star hotels then this place. If you can pay a little more, do so and don't stay here.

Although we know that it is a low budget hotel; however, we expect some basics. I stayed 18 days and had to beg them for room clean up, which they keep postponing and keep creating excuses such as they found don’t disturb sign on my room, which is obviously not true. Moreover, their fridge and lifts keep coming out with annoying sounds all night.

Horrible smell throughout the hotel. Dirty Linens, kitchen in mess, no utensils. I had really bad experience staying here — Will never ever come here again. The room was clean. No ice machine, no lobby restroom but my stay was comfortable and the price was decent.

We travel a lot. This one one of the worst hotels we stayed at. The young blonde receptionist was incredibly rude to me but oh so nice to my husband. The smell throughout was awful. The room was just ok. You have to ask the front desk for kitchen amenities. I put in my request for a full set of everything… pans, plates, forks, toaster, etc. I got one pan and a dish strainer. That's all they had. Everything else was being used by other rooms. Ugh. So much for using the kitchen. The next day, another request, got a dish towel and a toaster. Moving up! Maybe by the time our week and a half is up I can make a meal. Screw that. Went to the dollar store and got my own stuff. So angry! This is the whole freaking reason we chose this hotel… so we didn't have to eat out! Bed was SO hard. TV would just decide to not turn on sometimes. Not the greatest situation with two kids. Room was clean though. Convenient location. Don't plan on eating breakfast there. It's Granola bars and small muffins and slim pickings at that, they claimed to have fruit but I was told each morning by the non friendly one that I "just wake up to late and it's all gone" (asked at 7am in the lobby). They advertise a grab and go breakfast… possibly to go somewhere else that had better choices. We will not be visiting here again. Should have gone with my instincts and listen to the reviews which are usually spot on.

We came in for our wedding and I just want to say I've Never in my life have I been treated so poorly! Faith obviously hates her Job and makes it very clear to the customer. She made me feel so dumb for coming in a day early. I asked if they had a room for tonight 7-3-2017 she said just give me a second and I'll check I said ok that's fine so obviously I stood there and waited. 30 seconds later she rolled her eyes at me, laughed and said in a very rude way (it's going to be a while I can't do it right this second). She has 0 customer service skills I'd be ashamed if I was the owner and knew she was the first impression for my guests.

For the price is fine. I have No complaints.

I'm glad to see other reviews. It implies that they survived a night here without major consequence. Seriously, I've never been burned by the Hotwire hot rate this bad. I feel like it was a flashback to my first college apartment. The place was filthy! Walked down a dark hall past open doorways. Strongly smells of curry and other spices. Enter my room to find the toilet was clogged, sheets were stained with who knows what (I have a few ideas but am trying to think positive that it was something like light coffee or lemonade), hairs in all the drawers, stale air (checked the a/c filter and it was seriously disgusting), spiders hanging from the lamps, lots of noise coming from other rooms, sink drain clogged, and I could go on… front desk guy was super nice and tried to be helpful, but this place was beyond help. For the $130+ bucks a night please do yourself a favor and pay an extra $20-40 and get a better place, you will regret it otherwise!

Knowing we have no where to go, There is no shelters for us, all the hotels our booked, our family can find an apartment or rooms to rent and now we have no where to go. We have paid them and there is a way for them to work with us but they rather cancel my 99 day reservation and have me and my family homeless out on the streets. There is not right, families try so hard to take care of their family, Just to have someone push them down. On top of that the Front desk makes a mistake and My family has to pay for it. Now I have no choice but live out on the streets with my 3 kids and husband.

The hotel is located in a convenient area. It looks nice from the outside. However inside is a different story. The "queen" is more like a full. We were unhappy with the "queen" and had to pay to upgrade to a king. The rooms are filthy. We found hair and urine stains on the toilet bowl. The only plus is that it has a kitchen and fridge which is nice. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all.

Basic hotel at a reasonable price. No suite amenities nor size so just a regular hotel room with a tiny kitchen. Rooms trend to smell so get ready to switch rooms on arrival. The hotel needs to change our the AC filter.

Experience was fair for the price. There's a carls junior next door and is really close to UCI. The room is a litre small since there is a full fridge and electric stove top. Coffee ran out the two times I went out to the lobby to get it.

Room is clean and quiet. I wish the room had a king bed rather than a queen. Breakfast is minimal, but still appreciated. Location is a bit out of the way.

Full kitchen, full sized refrigerator makes it a good option for longer stays.

Every room have a nice kitchen fridge and you can ask for kitchen supplys its clean and comfy but is not the most luxurious hotel theu can also make your room double just by asking.

Great location. Very close to John Wayne airport. Quite a few restaurants in walking distance. The rooms are your standard fare. They are clean and maintained well. My gripe is that I had to switch rooms three times within the first 6 days of my stay due to painting work.

I went for a circuit install and everyone was very nice to me.

I would not recommend this hotel to anybody, I cannot wait until I can check out and never come back here again. There's no ice machine, black hair in my sheets, the rooms stink, there's a crying child I hear all night long next door. For $115 a night you can go somewhere that's way better I think Motel 6 would be better than this. They claim to have free breakfast it consists of coffee and granola bars. The beds are terribly uncomfortable, The linens are scary to sleep in. Nobody is ever at the front desk. The vending machines are broken. I've never stayed somewhere more disgusting.

Horrible. The entire 2nd floor smells like fish! Room service ditched out before cleaning my room on the ONE day/week they're supposed to clean. The next day, I caught the maid in the hallway at 6:00 P. M. (when room service ends for the day) and asked if I could have my room cleaned. She made a 5 minute phone call before proceeding to clean my room. Front desk didn't offer any type of compensation for the inconvenience. Laundry facility is a joke! $2 to wash, and $2 to dry, and that's after you provide your own detergent. If you're considering staying here, do yourself (or your co-worker (s) ) a favor, and find another hotel in the area. I know I'll never stay at this hotel again.

I am writing this complaint about my experience at Extended Stay of America in Orange County-John Wayne on 3/29/2015. My coworker and I are traveling on business and staying at the John Wayne location. We both arrived at around 3pm and I was able to check in, however, there was not a room ready for my coworker to check in at the time and we just put our luggage in my room and went out for the day. When we returned to the hotel at around 8:30pm and there wasn't an attendant at the front desk. We waited for around 20 minutes and then Tiffany appeared and began to tell us that according to California state law she is allowed to have a 30 minute break. I get that breaks are important, however, I would absolutely think that guests are more important. Anyway, she appeared with an attitude and we responded accordingly, then she proceeded to call the police and refuse to check my coworker into the hotel-I had to share a room with her, in a queen bed. Words were exchanged and we proceeded back to my room. We had already removed ourselves from the situation and we were trying to figure out how to get my coworker into her room and as we were trying to do that we get a knock on my door from Tiffany and I look through the peep hole and Tiffany and two Orange county police officers were standing at our door. For what?

I'm grading on a curve here, but the staff is friendly, the room is clean, and the hotel is conveniently located.

Bed sheets were not ironed, an emergency alarm at 11:30pm. For nothing, the fridge makes a huge noise. I was disappointed.

Stay for three nights very quiet you what you pay so no complaints.

Face lift on this place is great, what isn't, is the AC unit not working when we checked in on Sat. No maint person on weekends, so wasn't repaired until Mon. Very low water pressure. Maid service is ONCE a week. I literally saw my 2nd roach scurry across this desk! *Whap! * The entire building's power went out for a few hours. Friendly staff.

The Air Conditioner did not work but I didn't realize until 0400 when I came back from an evening out. So needless to say I got sleep in between gasping for stale hot air. I asked for some consideration, it is four days later and the manager is refusing to talk to me. I was just told by the receptionist he was on the phone then when she came back on after being on hold for awhile she said he was gone and sent me to voice mail. Mother f'rs are dishonest and liars.

1. No free Wi-Fi. What year is this?! Tried to use my ATT aircard and had horrible connectivity. 1 bar of 3G when I sat by the window. Seeing how this would be a business traveler hotel, this is essential! 2. Poor cell service. Not hotels fault but should be taken into consideration for the business traveler. 3. No Pool, but they have grills? 4. No workout facilities. However, the area around the hotel is very nice and you can walk/run and take in the fresh air. 5. Fire alarm works! Went off for no reason twice in 5 minutes my first day. 6. Room was nice. Tub stopper didn't work. Wife couldn't take a bath. 7. Hot/Cold opposite on tub too. Beware of scolding cold water! 8, Water was dripping out of the light above the front desk. Not sure that is a good sign! 9. No hangers. 10. Toilet paper was 1-ply. Same stuff you use to stuff bag presents. If it was pink it would be the same tissue paper! Staff has been helpful, I will give them that.
