Review of TownePlace Suites by Marriott Bakersfield West 3*

Room smelled like a dirty mop soon as I walked in the room. Especially from the window A/C unit when is left on, smell was unavoidable unless A/C is off and A/C doesn't have auto on/off feature, so fan was always on and noisy, SO IF YOU PLAN TO STAY HERE BE PREPARED FOR A STRONG DIRTY MOP ODOR AND NOISE FOR THE ENTIRE STAY. The next morning before we left the room, I called the front desk requesting maid service so we can have a clean room when we come back. The front desk said "Okay", but when I came back around 7pm, the room wasn't cleaned, so I called front desk again and told them the room is not cleaned. The hotel staff response was "Aha", Aha? In a condescending "so what? " tone. If a customer reports a problem, they should never ever respond with "Aha" if they strive for customer service. That is terrible customer service. That "Aha" explained everything about this place and that's the main reason for writing this review and still makes me sick. If you stay multiple nights here, there will be no maid service and customer service. I also got the couple of bug bites and body itches everywhere after the stay, it's a pet friendly hotel so guests can bring there pet's in the room and stay. Pet friendly hotels require better treatments for ticks, fleas, and bed bugs, but this hotel can't even provide basic as maid service for guests, what else can you expect? Sanitize the room? I don't think so. When you stay here there's good chance you'll get a bug bite. This hotel advertised as providing hot breakfast. Such as, build your own hot sandwiches, wide variety of fresh fruits and cereal … in reality, the breakfast area is so small and only includes boiled eggs, one tiny waffle maker, one cereal station, bagel, English muffin, slices of cold cheese, oatmeal and bread. The breakfast they have is a joke and that's false advertisement. So do not expect any scrambled eggs, potato, ham, sausage, bacon, fruits or build your own hot sandwich, because there is none. bottom line is, i'll never go back to this junk, even it's free and keep this in mind for all marriott run establishments.
