Rooms were really nice! Comfortable beds. Staff was pretty great! Stayed for a wedding in town and it made it very easy!

Hotel's hey days were about 10 years ago. My room had visible damage in the bathrooms. I only received one key card to the room and hotel side entrance that worked intermittently. There is also a story here about the guests that I can't quite put my finger on. The room was, however, relatively inexpensive. I was also able to pull off the road and get a room without a reservation.

I'll continue to give hotels only 3 stars when they advertise breakfast included and then provide tasteless, unhealthy garbage for their customers to eat. There is no reason they can't change $3 more per night and have quality ingredients. They microwave their powdered eggs in a plastic bowl. Cancer on top of cancer.

I wrote the following account of our stay in an email to the manager, Ajay Bath. He never responded. We stayed there in February 2018. We stayed in your executive suite since we had two couples and it was necessary to refrigerate medication as well as keep food available. First, I would like to say that your front desk staff was exceptional. Specifically, Betty, Stephanie and Megan. They were friendly and attempted to accommodate us however the actual facility was a disaster. We arrived at around 7:30 pm after driving since early morning and loading a moving trailer. We were all exhausted, hungry and had a 10 hr drive ahead of us the next day. We attempted to store our food in the fridge and discovered that it was turned off, water dripping everywhere and someone's leftover food was inside. I called the front desk and was told that we could store our food in the fridge in your kitchen but there was no other option since no maintenance people were there. We discovered that there was a power strip that was overloaded with plugs and a lamp that was also plugged into it did not work. We considered that to be a fire hazard. Next, we attempted to heat something in the microwave however, the glass turntable was missing. Neither of the two televisions were working. We discovered that the smoke detector was covered with plastic (I did take pictures) which is a legal matter and a safety hazard to your guests.

Comfortable room! The size of the TV is AMAZING! They also have wonderful smelling HEMP soaps & lotion in the room.

Made a reservation online with Priceline, that part went smoothly they charged my card and made my reservation, great! The not so awesome part was the front desk lady working 3/4/18 at 5:30pm was incredible of confirming my reservation even though in her hand was a hard copy of the Priceline confirmation fax, she said payment had not been received even though my card had been charged — I confirmed this threw Priceline. Long story short don’t waste your time with this hotel the staff is clearly incredible of performing their job correctly. Huge waste of time!

King size room was neat and had microwave and small refrigerator. Coffeemaker in room. Swimming pool and spa outside on ground floor. Full breakfast choices. Comfortable bed.

I stopped by there to visit my children that happened to be staying there few nights and the receptionist was very friendly and the rooms were awesome and I thought everything was amazing.

Lovely hotel, but beware the maids. Left a visa card in a jacket pocket while I popped out for a bit to get lunch. Came back, went to put my jacket on. The card was gone. Went down to the desk, asked if it had been turned in. They had to go get it from the maid, who weakly claimed that she had found it in the hallway outside my room. Waa not offered any kind of recompense or even and apology from the staff, who claimed that anything like that was forbidden by the owner. I'll stay again, but nothing of any value will be coming with me.

Great place to bed down for the night or several. Near shopping and conveniences. Clean and safe, pretty quiet location. I would stay there again. Price was also very reasonable.

Front desk staff left me standing there for 15 minutes before helping me. Room only had 2 towels and one cup. No ice bucket. Beds were full queens which was nice.

Fair. Rooms need some TLC but better than alternative places on same exit. Staff nice.

Me and my wife Came to auburn for an e clampus vitus event… The rooms were well accommodated and up to date. Perfect night of rest after partying hard!

The lady who booked our reservation was not nice and couldn't multitask. The lady the next morning working the desk was very nice. Room was ok.

The staff is very nice. Can't say much for their slide card keying system. It's failing more than working. I believe they need a technician to check out the system because when you go outside for any reason it's an act of god to get back inside using the card.

We had a forced evacuation from the Lobo fire. Had a small dog, where to go? Red Lion to the rescue. Quiet, comfortable, clean rooms. And coffee ready in the lobby. Great breakfast, free parking, Wi-Fi to connect with family, and they didn't take advantage of us and charge more. Very sensitive to us and much appreciated!

I would give a negative number review if I could. I reserved 2 rooms 6 months ahead of time. Front desk interaction 1: We arrived at the hotel a little after 11 pm and when I went in to check in my first interaction with the front desk was to be asked “what do you want” to which I responded that I had a reservation and was checking in. The woman behind the counter told me I was “late” and was very rude. She proceeded to take my information and then toss room keys across the counter at me. 1st room (in-laws) : There was a bag of dirty laundry hanging on the room door. I opened the door and noticed that the bed was rumpled and appeared to have been slept on. 2nd room (in-laws) : When my husband entered the 2nd room he was overwhelmed by the smell of cigarette smoke and mildew. Front desk interaction 3: The woman told my husband that she was aware of the smell and would bring a humidifier to the room to handle the “smell” for the night. 1st room (myself and husband) : After showering I reached for a towel and was instantly disgusted by the fact that the towel was filthy and looked like a hooker had taken off her makeup all over the towel. I called for my husband to give me the other towel which we discovered was just as bad. He said he would go down to the front desk and ask for CLEAN towels. Front desk interaction 4: My husband went down to the front desk to request CLEAN towels and was told that “it was the best he was going to get.

Reasonable price for what you get. The place is in need of some improvements/upkeep. There's a couple holes in the walls/door in our room. The staff seems to be doing the best they can which isn't much. We asked for a couple extra towels and they gave us hand towels. We also specifically asked them if they would clean our room and that didn't happen. When asking about it, the staff dismissed us and said they couldn't speak about what the staff from the previous day had promised us. The fitness room also hasn't been updated in years and 2/3 machines don't work. The guests who stayed in our room before us stole light bulbs and the desk chair. You'd think the staff would have noticed when they cleaned before we arrived. I'd definitely recommend staying somewhere else in the area, maybe the Holiday Inn.

I stayed at this hotel for a week while I was working. The room was spacious and clean, and all the staff I interacted with were very friendly and efficient. Free Wi-Fi it's plenty fast, even for streaming. Most of the outlets in my room were loose so chargers would fall out or not charge properly.

Courteous staff went out of their way to help. When no single queen rooms were left I was given a double queen room at the single price. I was placed by an entry door which was noisy but the stay was pleasant for a weekend. Far better than the other establishment rates and amenities.

This hotel was my savior, from the motel 6. The rooms were fresh and clean. The pool was very refreshing. But, some guests were obviously smoking pot in their rooms and guests were being loud at 11 in the pool when it clearly closed at 10. But other than that my stay was great!

Very conveniently located just off I80 in Auburn, CA, the Red Lion Inn is your basic hotel. It was clean and comfortable for our one night stay. We didn't have time to enjoy the amenities but the workout room and pool looked inviting. We were disappointed with the breakfast which was pretty tasteless unless you're a cereal or waffle fan. For a night or two the hotel is a good bet. I'd however, go out for breakfast.

The location was well bring cable tv, swimming pool, and a Gym I breakfast in the mornings free. Also ai many restaurants near the hotel.

Offer food that is free when you stay here to sleep. Televisions and large beds more to less comfortable. There is not much to do in Auburn, but the hotel is located on the side of the road.

Good value for the money but could be cleaner. Most of the staff was friendly. Shower heads were very low, almost too low for me and I'm only 5'4". A few holes in our bathroom & closet doors. Really glad they have air conditioning! Breakfast was OK, its just nice that they have a breakfast.

Clean room. Comfortable. Nice pool. Working hot tub. Great breakfast. Nice but busy staff. Good price. Convenient location. Don't put your key card in the same pocket as your phone and youll be ok!

Worst hotel ever. We parked out car in the hotel parking and it was broken into. All our stuff got stolen. We arrived at 3 am and only took essentials out of the car. By 6 am everything was stolen and our rear window was smashed. Hotel did not to anything and provided no assistance. This hotel sucks. I would NEVER stay here again.

Horrible experience! Beware! I checked in, clerk scanned two new keys… went to my room, or so I thought, opened door with scan key, and ALAS THE ROOM WAS OCCUPIED BY A MAN. I IMMEDIATELY CLOSED DOOR WENT TO FRONT DESK, clerk stated over and over that that room was not showing occupied… I am a 55 yr old petite female traveling with my 24 yr old daughter! I just thank God I got there first… I was assigned a new room, one key worked, the other didn't: (at check out I was offered a 15% discount, mgr stating that was all she was authorized to give me… I have been calling daily, leaving message for General Mgr AJAY, WITHOUT SO MUCH AS THE COURTESY OF A RETURN PHONE CALL! This faux pax was HUGE SECURITY PROBLEM, HUGE! And they hide their head in sand? HORRIBLE SECURITY RISK, STAY AWAY!

All the essentials were covered well, clean, comfortable, a nice room. But a lot bothered me here. The TV was no more than 30" and only standard local channels. The walls were paper thin and we heard a wide variety of noises, including but not limited to dogs barking at each other, children crying, an elderly woman coughing up a lung (for hours) and incessant loud music. Also, terrible Wi-Fi connectivity! Strong signal but their firewall boots you off without telling you. I used a good portion of my cell data without knowing. And lastly, we were put in a room that felt half a mile from the front desk/amenities. Could it be worse? Sure. Thank goodness it isn't.

It was really nice. Spacious rooms. The location isn't in the greatest spot, but it's close to restaurants and the freeway.

Room was clean hot tub was broken so we couldn't use it. There was a punch hole in our front door the dresser drawer handle was broken off. The heater did not work. The breakfast was almost gone and it wasnt even 8 am which was ok because it was cold. The good was the staff was all very friendly from the gal in the front check in, to the cleaning staff.

Just off the freeway. Clean rooms. Slow check-in and check-out but friendly staff. It worked perfectly for our layover.

The location was close to the freeway so it was great for a night stop before heading to tahoe for snow. The room was great and we watched some TV before going to bed in the comfy beds. We grabbed the continental breakfast which was open early so we got an early start to tahoe for skiing.

I love what they did the the place… I come here every 6 months and this place just gets better and better thank you staff for the great experience!
