It's close to everything just no pool nor hot tub but all in all clean rooms clean hotel wonderful employees.

Hidden pet fees and refusal not giving back your security deposit. Homeless people knocking on you window. Not recommended.

Great place to stay downtown.

Clean they're rooms and hallways better there is a lot of trash on the floor!

Our first night in the clarion we found a crack pipe and they gave us a card to visit the manager the next day because they weren't there. The next day when we discussed the pipe we found in your room the manager said since we stayed I the room theres not much we can do for you. This was extremely frustrating! The room was nice but wasnt clean and the manager here was no help. Also the website said we could be picked up at the airport but when we called they said that they couldn't pick us up and the reason I booked this hotel was for the hot tub and it was closed when we got here overall the experience sucked. There breakfast wasnt the best there juice was watered down and there servis wasnt the best I wouldn't want anyone staying here, until theres new management.

Bed bugs in room 215! The staff had the nerve to say the bugs traveled with us and we brought them! Manager called back said they’re sorry for thinking that and that the room was quarantined couple weeks ago and the pest control company was supposed to clean it and that they’ll do a complaint on the pest control company. They said they’ll quarantine that room and clean it up! Filthy and stinky hotel, I’d say!

Very nice hotel and very nice.

The hotel was clean. The room was a nice area with adequate space and furniture. Good location to walk to dinner and around downtown. Their biggest problem was the desk was understaffed. Had to wait on hold a long time at the airport to request our shuttle. Check in took a while because the desk agent had to put 5 people on hold and other guests kept trying to ask her questions because she was the only one there. All the desk agents seemed to really be trying to keep up and do a good job, but there just needed to be a second person. They also overbooked the train shuttle in the morning. They confirmed the shuttle for 12 people and a 9 person van showed up. We ended up all squashing in the van, but it was really inconvenient and made us all nervous with unsecured luggage stacked so high. Also, the morning shuttles are scheduled to leave at times where you have to wait 45 minutes at the cold train depot.

Our room is fantastic. The staff are professional and courteous. The breakfasts are tasty. The hotel is located downtown across from a park. We highly recommend this hotel to stay in Anchorage, Alaska.

Very spacious. Breakfast was great and not just coffee and a roll. I'd definitely come back here. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Gave us tips where to go and see.

Staff was great!. Rooms are good. Some deep cleaning is needed. Pool water was so dark green you couldn't see the bottom. So we didn't get in. The breakfast was pretty good selection.

Breakfast is great, and Hostess Diana helps you feel welcome, special and personally attended to. Rooms (suites) are nice. TV in bedroom was 'green'. TV in living/office area was fine. Elevator is concerning at times, but always got us where we were going. Staff is helpful, for the most part. Overall enjoyed our stay. All things considered, a 4.5.

Great place to stay for a short stay in Anchorage. They offer free airport transfer and breakfast which is very convenience. Lots of parking spots available and o ly within minutes walking distance to town.

Yeah, lemme warn ya about this place… We rented a room and as soon as we walked in, the A\C didn't work. First flush of the toilet, the thing overflowed all over the floor and the maintenence guy asked us if we needed extra towels to clean it up… as if that wasn't enough the remotes didn't work on the TV and there was mold all over the walls in the bathroom. We moved rooms and at 1140 pm, the door lock went out on the door of the new room. After moving rooms yet again wed decided to pack up and terminate our stay. Please stay away from this hotel.

Terrible. Took nearly half an hour to check in. One person on staff and 10 people in line to check-in. No attempt to get any help. Next morning in the breakfast area we watched as a guest stuck his head in the kitchen to ask about waffle batter (since no one was in the serving area). A young kitchen-boy squared off with the guest telling him "you can't come back here. Can't you read the sign? I've told you three times now" which was garbage since I watched the guest walk in and he never went back there. Then to cap it off, management came over to the guest to confront him based on nothing but what the kitchen-boy said. The guest explained the situation and management continued to question him. Breakfast was cold. Lousy training of staff, lousy planning of staff needs, management that accuses guests rather than confronting their rude, untrained employees. I think someone at choice hotels needs a refresher on what HOSPITALITY means.

Avoid this place. Three day reservation, but stayed only ONE night. Facilities are worn with considerable deferred maintenance. Which would be minimally acceptable but for horrendous service and response to problems: room 132 had a bulb out, broken dispensers in shower and sink, and a door closer problem. Staff was unfavorable to address any of these issues, all of which should have been noticed and repaired on room turnover. Worse was the bumbling, disorganized check in. Couldn’t find our reservation made months earlier and confirmed. Put us in the “last room” because we are a “first come first served” place. Forgot to give us info and a bag our agent left at the desk. Frustrating clown show. We spend 200+ nights a year in hotels of all kinds around the world. Most management responds to problems and solves them, so it’s been a couple of years since we’ve left a hotel early — but we left here early because management and staff were unable to address anything… lots of excuses though. Oh, and the Clarion promise to resolve any problem immediately? Yeah, right. Hollow marketing. Don’t be a sucker. Lots of better places to stay in Anchorage.

Very nice location. Room was large, nicely kept. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The lady in charge of breakfast was our favorite! We would definitely stay here again!

Very comfortable big, spacious rooms. Loved having the coffeemaker, refrigerator and microwave. Maid service excellent. Breakfast buffet good. Airport shuttle excellent.

Price and location were great, walking distance from most thing. The breakfast was pretty poor quality, but it is a hotel breakfast. Room was good. Had 9 mirrors. One very large stain on a stool and tje bathtub wasnt the cleanest, but it was an enjoyable stay. Would recommend if on budget.

Perfectly adequate, I have no complaints. Not particularly fancy or anything, but if you're looking for somewhere to stay in Anchorage this is a fine choice. The downtown is a little further away than from some of the other hotels, but still easily within walking distance, even in the winter.

Check-in was slow, but staff was friendly. Room appeared somewhat dated and shower didn't work very well. Room was nicely divided between sitting area and bed which made it feel like the pull out bed was almost in a separate room. Pool was small and so warm that there was little point in having a separate hot tub. Complimentary breakfast was great, with lots of options.

Good breakfast. The pool was very busy. We never got a chance to use it. Parking lot filled up quickly. Bed was comfortable. Good location. Convenient for downtown.

Hotel itself was OK. But the entire place wreaked of Marijuana. Got to our room and it was OK. Woke up in the morning and the whole suite stunk. Our 2 little kids ended up getting sick from the smell of Marijuana.

No TV and a loud dog and family. Front desk was nice but couldn't help. Just wanted a quiet evening watching a movie.

This place felt comfortable like home. Also the staff are honest… I left lots of cash and my credit cards under the mattress and they went and got it for me. It was all there. And great breakfast buffet.

I loved the king suiet room lay out. It was a bit dirty. The tub had somebody's whiskers still in it, yuck! Was disappointed that so many kids took over the whole pool area, there really should be a adult only time available after the 10pm closing time. The hot tub was one of the reasons I chose to stay here and I couldn't use it. Over all I was fairly pleased for the great deal we got on the room! Would return again.

Nice staff, unfortunate location. The staff was very helpful and had a great sense of humor. There was some kind of altercation a couple nights prior and the hotel was locked down for security reasons. Staff said this was a semi-regular occurrence. There were some people hanging around outside that looked shady. The room itself was fine. For the price, it served it's purpose. Parking was difficult to find as it shared the lot with the neighboring Benihana restaurant, which was very busy.

The place was great. Nice rooms, good breakfast, friendly staff. I would highly recommend staying there.

The staff was incredibly helpful. They helped me out when I had difficulty with the third-party booking site I had used and picked us up from the airport late at night. Our room was simple and clean, and had a separate living room area with a couch (that I think folds out), desk, tv, mini fridge, microwave, and kitchen sink. The complimentary breakfast included a small selection of hot foods, plus muffins, cereal, etc. There were more guests eating than there were tables in the cafe area (so we ate in our room) and the hot foods were snatched up faster than the staff could put them out. This hotel is right next to Delaney Park and about a 20 minute walk to downtown Anchorage. We really liked it.

Very nice staff. We arrived several hours early and had intended to just ask them to stow our things (which they were happy to do) but they told us the room was already ready and we could check in! Much appreciated! Rooms are nice and have all the amenities. Clean and smelled nice. Great breakfast variety. Staff was happy to help us grab things to go and even got us a bag to carry out our food.

Excellent service and rooms very comfortable and spacious (second floor)

We stayed in a nice mini-suite that felt narrow, but had more than enough space. The room included a second TV, a fridge, a microwave, and an iron and ironing board, in addition to more common amenities. We didn't stay consecutive nights, but everything was clean and the staff was helpful. The laundry facility in the hotel was a bit pricey, but we were glad to have it. The location is a bit of a long walk from most downtown spots, but it's right across from a nice, large park. Anchorage has good paid parking facilities and transit system if walking to downtown is out.

This very well-the hotel, has many amenities, the rooms are a success, the swimming pool is good, the exquisite breakfast, this hotel is good indeed I recommend part of a dominican.

Rude. When I walked in they cussed me out and said I wasn't a guest because I didn't have my room key because my girlfriend was in our room with it so I had to yell and almost fight back because they were kicking me out and the breakfast was terrible don't swim at the pool you will get infection they shut it down the day before I left because of heath problems my skin turned green for 2 weeks.

Staff was great but when I reserved the room they did not tell me the pool was closed for maintenance, pillows they use are very uncomfortable and the shower alternates between hot and cold. Otherwise nice place to stay. Might come back next time, if pool is open.

I enjoyed my stay. The rooms were spacious and, apart from a few minor quibbles, quite clean and well-kept. The daily breakfast is nice and there's a fair amount of things to do within walking distance. I didn't interact with staff much, but any such conversations were pleasant enough. I would stay again.

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, the room itself was spotless and came with Wi-Fi, and the location downtown made for a very convenient trip! The stay also included free shuttle service to the airport (which I didn't use), but I figured I would mention that if anyone was looking for the specific amenity.

Lobby carpet was dirty, which was first thing I saw and caused me to wonder about our room. Room was clean however and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent! The gentleman fixing it was there to great you and very focused on food being good and hot and plentiful! He gets 5 stars!
