I stayed here for work and had a very lovely experience overall. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms are well-maintained and clean, and the beds are very comfortable. The Wi-Fi is pretty good on my phone, but I didn't use my laptop on it so I can't speak to how fast it is for anything more than phone use. The only issue I had with my room was that my coffee maker was broken and leaked water all over the place, but I'm sure they can just replace that and it shouldn't be an issue for most guests. Great stay overall!

This is a grand conference venue. Parking information is very important. For this conference, it was well-publicized. The staff did an awesome job of keeping up after a large crowd. The AV for presentations in the auditorium was excellent — great visual display, camera work and sound quality. Finally, seating was comfortable.

The hotel smelled amazing! As soon as we drove up, we were warmly greeted by concierge. Check in was a breeze! The room was great with a good view! The restaurant had delicious food… we ate dinner and breakfast! I wish they sold the scent at the hotel! I loved it! I would definitely stay there again if I'm in the area. No complaints!

Gorgeous interior with really nice staff. The rooms were comfortable with great bathrooms and corner showers. The location is perfect since it is close to a variety of bars and restaurants and a 15 minute walk from the Capitol. The outdoor bar was fun with live music. Parking at the attached garage that is connected to the convention center was $16 per day, a bit steep compared to the local city parking. Great military rates for the room though.

Excellent stay! My husband and I are both 20+ year hospitality veterans and consummate hotel snobs. This hotel was a delightful surprise. Crescent assisted us with check in and was a pleasure, taking time to answer all our questions as this was our first visit to Montgomery. The room was large and lovely with a wonderful view of the river and quaint surrounding buildings. So much to do within walking distance! We had breakfast in the restaurant, not the buffet, and it was excellent and probably the best meal of our trip which took us through 6 states. Looking forward to visiting the area again soon and this will absolutely be our choice.

Surprisingly good service. Service in general in Montgomery is admittedly pretty low quality, so this is not anything special, just what should be expected… but in Montgomery, that’s a plus. Hotel itself is fairly nice. Nice bar and pool combo that’s put on top of the parking garage roof, so you get direct sun, which is really convenient. Location wise, there isn’t a ton to do in Montgomery, but the couple good bars (Alley, Aviator and the free live music attached to the hotel outside bar) is all literally just across a single street.

It’s a slightly above average hotel. The rooms are a decent size, but mine was dusty and the sink could have been cleaner. Had a decent view of the river from my window. If your room is facing the front of the hotel you will hear the live entertainment at the outside bar until 10:00 PM.

I booked 3 months prior to my arrival and prepaid, $450. When I arrived I was told my card was declined, no I prepaid. Had my confirmation number and everything. Had a receipt to show I prepaid. I was charged another $450 for a room I already paid for and $245 for what I'm guessing was a security deposit. I asked when I would be refunded that extra I paid and was informed after I check out, so far I'm out around $1, 100, for a 2 night stay. I check out and was charged another $36 for self parking. I asked about the refund then told it would be between 5 and 7 business days. They took it out right away why didn't they refund it when I showed I already paid for it. Not only will I never stay there again, but I will never book online again and never prepay. This was money I didn't have, and it was suppose to be a happy occasion and happy weekend. It ruined my weekend, couldn't use the spa or anything.

For an upscale hotel this was probably one of the most uncomfortable nights I've spent in a hotel. I ask for a room with a king size bed and 1 that was on the 1st floor and 1 that was quiet and they gave me a some kind of wall fold out bed that was a foot off the floor that was uncomfortable and there was an ice machine in the room that kept going off that kept churning out ice about every 45 minutes which made sleeping hard. The hotel itself looks nice the decorations look nice the suite is beautiful it's it was just not a comfortable night's sleep 1 of the worst I've had in a hotel in a long time.

Found used soap in the shower and a cigar under the bed. Who knows the last time the room was cleaned properly. Unfortunately we had to stay here for a dance festival. If it was my choice I would never come back to this hotel again. The very very unfortunate thing is the festival is being held in Montgomery Alabama again in 2 years. I am hoping they find better accommodations than the Renaissance in Montgomery Alabama.

I've held a large professional event here before, so I knew that this was going to be a great experience. This event was much larger, but the hotel's conference center was able to accommodate the number of people early. The only issues during the event were not due to the venue, but the group managing the event. I would recommend this venue for any professional event.

The Renaissance Montgomery is absolutely Fabulous! Every staff member I encountered was extremely professional. Their entire staff goes above and beyond the call of duty to make your entire experience at Renaissance memorable, relaxing and enjoyable. I spent about 4 hours at their spa, full body massage, facial massage, pedicure, etc. This was my 2nd visit to their spa, OH MY. What a WONDERFUL, RELAXING, TREAT! Highly recommended!

We had our Veterinary Symposium here for the first time this year. It was probably one of the best veterinary symposiums that I have ever attended. The hotel was magnificent the food was delicious and the environment was sensational! I would definitely love to have our Veterinary Symposium at this place again!

I haven't gone to this place to get a room. The purpose of my visit was to rent a space for a wedding venue. They have three spaces to rent, each one of them are wonderful! Two of the spaces are only $1, 500 and the third space is $500. The only thing is that they will get you on the food so be prepared for that. The Wedding Planner Alyssa was very nice, very professional. She was very patient as well. I would recommend this place as a venue because it's very fancy and the spaces that they have inside are nice. Really just go there because of Alyssa! Thanks for all your help!

This hotel must be one of the best hotel around here. It us close to sightseeing spot where you can see mississippi river very well. Actually it was great view. There are restaurants as well. The hotel was well decorated with arts and antiques. The room is clean and beautiful. Staffs were all kind, too.

We go almost every week. Live music, good food, ambiance is great! Love the outdoor fire pits! Service is a little slow but they stay busy. Beautiful setting in downtown. Even better in summer!

The room overlooked the river and the room was very nice and clean. The bathroom was nice and updated with separate shower and tub. Very clean. The restaurant in the Renaissance hotel was delicious! We drank mimosa's and ate shrimp and grits for brunch. HUGE servings!

Located within walking distance to some upscale restaurants and the riverfront. Enjoyed the live music next door at The Escape. Rooms were well appointed with plenty of extra long, plush pillows. Great view of the river from 9th floor room. Breakfast at the hotel's restaurant was disappointing as the hot buffet items were lukewarm at best. Spa was a great experience but could have been cleaner in the ladies restroom areas. Overflowing trash bins were gross.

Very nice hotel. The view was really good. I did have a king bed room and they upgraded me to 2 queens. It was OK, but I would have rather had the King bed, but then looking at the people in the hotel, I'm thinking they moved me away from the high school volleyball team that was somewhere in the hotel. It is walking distance from a few good restaurantes.

Very nice, reasonably priced and accommodations are well above par for the course. A quiet, serene and relaxing Marriott in the heart of the Capital City, less than a mile walk from the Alabama State Capitol, maybe 200 yards from the Montgomery Biscuits Double-A Baseball Stadium (Riverfront Park) and surrounded by history that tells no lies. Plenty of dining options in/around the Hotel; the Montgomery Performing Arts/Convention Center adjoins the Hotel, making it ideal for working people. Hands down the spot to stay in Montgomery (for under $125.00, on most nights).

Comfortable beds. Nice views. Very high end classy feeling hotel. Extremely clean. Price is perfect friendly staff and valet.

Great hotel top to bottom. You get what you pay. Great location for the Riverwalk and all the night life. Great convention location as well. Summer fun when baseball season is in.

Beautiful hotel that makes you feel like you're in the mountains. The rooms beautiful and the beds are very comfortable. The staff is pleasant and it's in a market place with great restaurants and shopping. Overall a great place.

The venue itself is great. The staff was snappy and didn't seem to want to help us. Numerous people had been double booked and shuffled around. The last night of our stay, they deactivated our key card and we were locked out of our room. Over all, not great experience. The spa and pool we're nice though.

Excellent on every level. After a fun day on the Riverfront we made an impromptu overnight stay here. We had drinks and dinner at the bar, watched two SEC games and listened to two bands on the patio. The entire staff from the bartender to the front desk were welcoming and a pleasure to deal with. The rooms were well appointed, clean and the beds were some of the most comfortable we have ever experienced. Request a river view from your room, you will not be disappointed.

The mattress and bedding was amazing. Like a cloud made just for me! Restaurant inside was nice and quiet but prices a tad high. Would go back… If just to get a wonderful nights rest!

I've attended a few conferences at the Renaissance. This time particular I was at the Diversity Summit. The hotel is still beautiful! The MPAC theatre is fit for any speaker and was the perfect spot for our keynote speaker. Lunch was provided from the Renaissance team. The meal was high quality (as always. ) The rooms for break out sessions were spacious and comfortable. Overall, it was great.

We attended the Maxwell AFB OTS commissioning celebration on Aug 30, 2017 and was impressed with our room, the wall of windows, the great view, the comfy beds, the grand halls and ballroom for our dinner. It all came together so beautifully and everyone was smiling. Your friendly staff was so accommodating and professional at check in and out. Thank you for a awesome stay.

Beautiful inside and out, from the fountain in the circular drive to the spacious, classical design of the lobby. I was there for a work event, and the staff was wonderful. The refreshments were tasty and well presented (lemon water, donuts, bagels and coffee were available). Our conference numbered around 2000 attandees and there was plenty of room for everyone, whether assembled in the auditorium or separated into for breakaway sessions or the Expo room. There were plenty of great places to eat within walking distance (if you haven't tried the Mellow Mushroom, you haven't lived). Overall a great experience; I would recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful venue for a large crowd.

I stayed in an executive king suite for one night and it was very nice. The view from the top floor overlooking the river is great and more than you would expect. Staff was friendly. The convention space seemed nice, although I was not there to attend it. — 1 star for having to figure out my own parking since the street was blocked off due to said convention.

Nice rooms are available here. I only really visit when there is a conference related to work. The parking is NOT free. You have to pay per day to park in the parking deck. Nearby food options are very good with many different options available. The on-site restaurant is quite pricey, but that is to be expected with hotels such as this.

I loved this Hotel but housekeeping only asked if we needed towels as we were leaving for the day. Upon our return the beds were not made, no coffee restock and our trash cans were still full. I called the front desk and they seemed unconcerned, otherwise we enjoyed our stay. The best customer service was Valet! Great Job Guys. It's a good thing you are the first faces we see!

The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We got upgraded to an executive suite as they did not have any available rooms that we had requested. Nice bonus! No additional charge. We had a beautiful view. The room was nice and clean. Overall, a very nice experience.!

The hotel is beautiful. It is located downtown near the riverfront, restaurants, and historical landmarks. There are several parking options around the hotel and in the parking deck. The interior of the hotel is clean and quiet with a light ambience set by the music played in the lobby. The rooms are separated from the conference area and a screen room. On Sunday, a church meets in one of the conference rooms and has 3 to 4 services. The exterior is clean. There is a water fountain in the front that looks amazing at night.

It's okay if you like that sort of thing. I'm more of an obscure, boutique-y, off the besten path kind of consumer. Too busy. The patio lounge/bar is fun, though.

Had a great experience until this morning. I went to take a shower and had nothing but ice cold water. Not the way you want to start your day and get ready for meetings. As I was checking out I said something to the front desk. Their reply on boy that's not fun. I mentioned it to the valet while waiting for my car and they were not surprised at the cold water or lack of concern at the desk. I travel 175 nights a year and it is a shame this hotel does not seem concerned once they have your money. I waited all day to post this hoping to hear from a manager but no such luck. There is an Embassy Suites across the street if you need to stay in this area I would recommend checking that out. I was in room 829 so if you do stay here beware of this room.

I went to visit a friend who was staying there over night. The building is stunning, the staff is friendly, the pool and the view are gorgeous and I would recommend a stay to any travellers I came across.

Stay far away. I am an event planner for work and have a long history of travel and work with Marriott hotels and I have NEVER experienced such disrespect from a hotel in my life — especially, the way they treated and disrespected my mother. stay far away. The weekend of my little brothers wedding my entire family and friends from across the country filled nearly 100 rooms of this hotel. Our family hosted a large welcome party to patronize the bar area on the Friday night of the hotel. Additionally, my father and mother booked a hospitality suite to host our family for the happy day. We spent thousands of dollars that weekend. Beyond being late for our check in, no hot water in the suites, glass on the floor of the hospitality suite (all of which we could deal with) the hotel on Friday night sent huge intimidating security to our room on Friday night to apparent noise complaints (while there was no music). It was easier to just break up the gathering (Even though we were in a paid for HOSPITALITY SUITE and had just packed the hotel's bar for an event I'm sure netted the hotel a bunch of money) and start fresh in the AM. I would add that the hotel was PACKED with other weddings and gatherings, and a large celebration beginning in Montgomery that Monday. There were sports teams and a bunch of other people in this hotel and on our floor, some of whom we could smell smoking pot.

A friend treated me to a pedi at the spa. We enjoyed the hot tub an mimosas. It's very relaxing an the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Nice clean meeting rooms. The food was assume. I loved that they featured recipes from around our great state.

The location of the hotel was in downtown and it was beautiful. The rooms are huge and the bathrooms have separate bath and shower which was pretty nice. The service was extraordinary and was there for you when you needed them.

I attended a conference at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa. The facilities are very nice, with large conference rooms, excellent general gathering areas and plenty of rest rooms. Everything is nicely appointed and there is a large parking deck as well.

Very convenient to river walk and other downtown activities. Nice, comfortable rooms, service first rate.

Lets start with the positive things. The rooms are nice and clean. The view is great of the city. The SPA is what makes the hotel the best. The issues are making sure you get what you pay for. My first issue I cam during Mother's Day and purchased a package and paid for breakfast for two but when my mother and mother in law went down the staff would not let them get anything off the breakf buffet and stated they were closing. Now, the time for breakfast was 2 more hours so I never got an understanding of why it was closed. As a result after me going off they finally allowed my mothers to eat which this took about 45 mins. My second stay my family and I used our family and friends discount and ended up getting over charged for the room. The error was noticed and they informed us they woudl not give us back the fees until 7-10 business days.

Didn't appreciate them not allowing me to extend check out to 12, will have to rush my luggage to car at 6 am then go to my conference. The parking deck is a bit of a hassle to get to and expensive at 12/day. Not as nice as what I expected from what ive heard about "Renaissance", but I still liked the hotel for the most part. Room was decently clean but not perfect and certainly not what you would expect from a four star hotel. Grossed out by long brown hair on bathroom wall. Desk and chair are both very bad heights for working. Wouldnt plan to use them for extended periods. Very wobbly lamp next to tv, was afraid it would break. As I was looking at the lamp noticed the there was an outrageous amount of dust built up behind the TV stand/desk. A little thrown off and grossed out on my second night when I went to use the towel only to realize it was the same one I had used the night before and later cleaned the floor with and left balled up at the door what I thought was indicating it was dirty and needed to be replaced. Nice Aveeno enough toiletries and the front desk staff was nice and helpful. Bring warm clothes if you are cold natured. Thermostat at 78 and still a little cool. If wanting sleep early and can't handle noise this may not be a good place because there is band that plays outside and I can hear it in my 8th floor room.

Very impressed! Beautiful place, very friendly staff. Rooms are nice. "The House" restaurant was nice. Connected to Wintzels. Gym and pool area also very clean. I would definitely stay here again.

Just returned home from our stay at the Montgomery Renaissance. Was supposed to be a romantic getaway for my wife's birthday, but there were issues. When I booked this package I was presented with some options you don't normally see when making a hotel reservation. Early check-in, extra pillows, and extra towels were amenities offered at the time of booking. Although these extra's are not guaranteed, they do provide an option to ask for them which I did. We arrived at 2PM. My wife had an appointment with the Spa at 3PM and I was hoping to get checked into our room so I could have a comfortable place to wait while my wife was being pampered. No dice. I was told our room wasn't ready, but they would call us when it was. Waited around until 3:40 and never received a call. Went to the front desk and was told my room was now ready. Gee, thanks for the call. The desk clerk asked when I wanted our champagne and strawberries delivered. This was part of the "Romance" package I booked. I told her to have it delivered immediately because we had plans for the evening. So we head up to the room and we notice there are only two bath towels. Really? 4 hand towels, 2 wash clothes, and 2 bath towels in a room that seeps 4 adult? Thanks for the extra towels, NOT! We also noted there weren't any extra pillows on the bed as requested either. About an hour after checking in our champagne and strawberries arrived. Dude just busts right into the room without knocking.

I stayed at the Renaissance this past weekend (5/16 — 5/17) while attending a conference and decided to valet my vehicle, which I was originally going to self-park, after my girlfriend misplaced her wallet and became upset. I waited in the vehicle while my girlfriend checked-in so that she could bring me a room key. As the bellhop was assisting with our luggage, she realized her wallet was missing. She returned back to the front desk to see if she had left it there but upon learning that it was not left at t desk, she became very upset. Observing her frustration, I hastily decided to stay with her and asked that my vehicle be parked by the valet. Not thinking, I grabbed my purse but left my other personal items in the vehicle and gave the valet attendant my key. We decided to go immediately to the room and go through her bags to see if the wallet was there and luckily it was; however, by this time, I had forgotten about my jewelry in the car. After getting settled, I we decided to go to a session and afterwards, go to the store to get bottled water for the room. During the session, I remembered my jewelry in my vehicle and told the ladies accompanying me that I needed to go get my jewelry. We had about another 10 minutes remaining in the session at that time and decided we'd all leave to go on to the store.

This past weekend was my second time staying at the Renaissance, and although the scenic view of the Alabama River was quite nice, this place is completely overrated! I've noticed previous reviews that claimed you have to pay for internet. This is no longer the case; that's the ONE good thing about the place. They offer free Wi-Fi finally. As for everything else. Complete waste of money. The shower took about 10 minutes to get hot. 10 MINUTES! And it wasn't even clean. There was still hair in the shower. As well as a bit of mold/mildew in the cracks of the shower wall. (Granted, the hair left in the shower could have happened anywhere depending on how thorough the housekeeping is. I do understand that. But it's STILL unacceptable). The refrigerator was not cold and the iron was terrible. Overall, it was not the most awful hotel. Just not worth what it cost. I've had better experiences at Holiday Inn Express and Suites! They do have an easy and convenient check out process, which is nice. That's about it.
