This is definitely not a good hotel to stay. This place is a shit-hole. Awful place to stay even though located in convenient area. I had to stay here couple of weeks ago because all the hotels in the city were booked and this was the closest I could get. On the plus side the staff here is friendly and nice, but that's about the only positive.

The rooms are not thoroughly cleaned. Couple of times I complained to the front desk. The second complaint, I have asked to speak to a manager. After waiting for about 5 minutes, an Indian Manager came to speak with me with a heavy accent. The manager was rude and kept interrupting me while I was trying to describe to him the nasty condition of the room. I was telling him that I normally stay at Hilton and Marriott and on few occasions I have stayed at Holiday Inn and I have never experienced such lousy conditions I have experienced at the Candle-wood. His response was you may want to stay at the Hilton then!

It is a shame that this hotel is part of the Holiday Inn system. I will definitely will never use this hotel and any Holiday Inn affiliate in the future.

Room was dirty, there were bugs in the room. There was a coffee machine, but no coffee pot. The manager is rude, and useless. Don't stay there.

Spacious and clean. Great room.

Nice rooms and beds. They have a work out area with some elipticals and bikes but limited free weights. No breakfast but they have in room coffee. Its in a nice part of town with a lot of restaurant and shopping within a mile.

This location is okay. Their idea of cleaning is subpar. They are in a prime location in terms of shopping and dining. They are on the back side of Eastchase. There was hair on the shower walls and the eating utensils looked rinse at best so we washed dishes to ensure cleanliness. We come to Montgomery often. We will not be returning to this location again.

I had a similar experience when I first checked in, they told me that my room won't be serviced unless I asked them or I have to give the front desk my towels if I want it replaced. The following day and throughout the rest of the week, I had my room serviced. I have fresh towels daily… and the maids never took anything valuable from me (unlike the comment before mine). The room was big enough where I don't feel boxed in. They have full cable unlike other hotels and since its a suite, I have a mini kitchenette with full size refrigerator. I stayed on the first floor, while my co-worker stayed on the 3rd floor. His biggest complaint was the elevator since it was stinky. Although I did not have any issues on my a/c unit, my co-worker claimed that his was loud and it turns off and on every few minutes that it was hard for him to get a good night's sleep. I didn't have that issue. Also, be mindful that the pillows are small (for twin size bed) and all 4 of them are soft (no option for firm).

Upon check in I was informed because of my long stay my room would only be serviced when requested. The very next day it was serviced without me requesting it. The front desk also called me that night to ask how my stay was so far, so I explained that my room was serviced and I was great full, since I was told it wouldn’t be unless requested. She informed me that I could schedule my room to be serviced every other day if I preferred, which I did and so I scheduled it for that. My room has not been serviced since then and it has been 6 days. I have asked twice and been told it’s on the schedule for the next day and yet nobody comes to do it. My impression is that the maids did it the first day to see if I had anything valuable and when they couldn’t find anything, they lost interest. Please avoid this place, their are other hotels nearby that offer more services and better accommodations. The hotel also has a nasty moldy smell to it, save yourself the headache and stay at the holiday inn down the street. The only reason I’m still here is because the Military booked it for me.

We had an awesome time when we did sit in the room with one another talking. Room 336 had a full kitchen and everything. We were staying there for a family reunion. However the disadvantage were the beds which were kind of hard and our volume on the television wouldn’t work.

Our stay here was just lovely from the amenities to the service. The room was superbly styled and furnished, impeccably cleaned. This will be our top choice in hotels for a long time to come.

Easy to find of the interstate 85, we had prepaid for are rooms however they could accept go forward unless we used are credit cards. Anyway we got it sorted, got upgraded given I'm a IHG member. Full kitchens, two comfy double beds and a spacious bathroom. The hotel is situated close to the interstate, not enough to bother us. Pleasant enough stay overall.

Was remodeling so there was that. But dishes still had food on them. The room was quite outdated. (hence remodeling). Great location we felt and the staff were very nice and attentive to our requests.

This hotel give all hotels a bad name. I left some property in the room. I went back to get it. Front desk said that it was not there because they have a lost and found and the staff didn't bring it up to the front. But I knew my stuff was there because I check out on the same day. I ask could we go to the room I left it in. He took me there and the room had been clean. So I asked, sir… you guys have cameras. It will show that I did not leave this hotel with my items because I only had one little bag and my property would not fit it. To make a long story short. I had to call the police. When me and the officer was walking back into the hotel. Guess what was in the guy hands? My stuff! Now why he couldn't do this in the beginning. He kept telling me to call back in the morning. But you had my stuff the whole time. Why he couldn't just give it to me. I had to call the police to get my stuff.

Made a reservation on the phone. Drove 6 hours straight to the hotel, just to find out they gave my room away because I did not have a credit card on file. I asked the lady on the phone while making the reservation if she needed my card info, she said no, they had me taken care of. They did nothing to help me find other options. Don’t count on these guys.

My husband is working out of town so we tagged along. We made a stop in Montgomery and stayed here nd aftwe the other hotels we have stayed in since candlewood, I can honestly say. They are amazing they are clean and it does not stink it's comfortable. The kitchenette area was stocked it was wonderful. I will stop here each time I go home to visit. And MILOS IS next door amazing food.

Looking forward to seeing the hotel after the remodel. In desperate need of a facelift inside. Disappointed there was no continental breakfast or pool. On the other hand I give front desk 5 stars. Concierge were polite and accommodating. The kitchen was overlooked, several dirty dishes were put away.

Spacious rooms but a bit dated and warn, vinal coverings on chairs are warn off etc inexpensive you get what you pay for.

Not recommended. We had to do the following things to the room within 2 hours after checking in: -Remove someone else's dirty kleenex from the floor, -Clean a sticky kitchen table-top, -Clean a sticky desk chair, -Clean a dirty desk phone -Found dishes left in the dishwasher. We eventually got tired of cleaning the room, so we asked the hotel to: — Remove a sticky substance from the bedside table, — Clean a sticky kitchen floor, — Fix a window screen that was blowing in the wind (see photo), — Clean an obviously dirty mirror, — Install a light bulb missing from a wall lamp. I also asked the Manager and the service man to fix the toilet, as it didn't flush unless you held the lever down for an extended period. Nothing happened with that one, even though I asked 2 people to fix it. -In addition to everything else, the shower curtain is too short, and barley keeps water off the floor. I spoke to Hotel Manager: Sagar Patel re: these issues and was told that the hotel was due for renovations. Keep in mind that these are basic maintenance issues, not something that needed renovation. While speaking to him, the cleaning person yelled from the other room that she already saw me and cleaned the room. She did, but Sagar offered no explanation, apology, or accommodation for the cleaning person's outburst. Attached are photos of: -The cleaning crew vacuuming the carpets as we wait to move our stuff in, -One of the chairs in the room.

I liked the hotel as a whole and they're very nice every time I went but this last time I went and they only accepted cards! It was late and I was having a bad day, also I didn't have a ride. That night really was a nightmare. This hotel had full-sized rooms and full kitchen, excellent location.

It's set up some what like a resort. With full kitchen with a dishwasher. We enjoy our stay.

Price reflects value carpet and furniture shows signs of wear, rougher clientele and lack of daily housekeeping.

Candlewood suites is always a great place to stay when your away from home for a few days. The kitchenette and office area make it more then another hotel room. This candlewood is a little older and has a lot of wear. Heater stoped working and the toilet wouldn’t stop running, the shower head was spraying out the back and hitting the ceiling spraying all over the bathroom. The furniture has bald marks from heavy wear… All in all, it’s a good hotel, it just needs a more attentive maintenance staff and some new furniture.

Nice people. Rooms are nice. Housekeeping not so good. Hairs on a pillow case and on the sheets. Also breakfast foods available at high prices.

Full kitchen is very nice to have. Very friendly staff. I could give 5 stars if the Eastchase area wasn't so plagued with thefts. Do not leave anything in your vehicle while here. I spent over 6 months in the area at several hotels in the area and seeing windows that had been knocked out was all too common.

Too bad we had to give this place a star. They sure don't deserve one Stay away from here! It all began at the check-in counter that was manned by 3 girls that couldn't even begin to think for themselves and had absolutely NO personality. The one that was checking us in spent a little time on the computer only to inform us that it wouldn't accept my wife's Visa. We told her that we weren't paying with the card, we only used it to hold the room and that we were going to pay cash. A few more minutes on the computer (and a secret conference with her 2 co-workers) and she informed us once again that the computer would not accept my wife's card. My wife asked me to go retrieve my card from our vehicle. I went outside to get my card. Upon my return our check in clerk came out of a back office to inform us that we would need to pay cash to get our room for the night! I asked if there was a pool available and was told (rather rudely) that they had no pool. I then asked about their breakfast and was told (again) that there was NO breakfast. I inquired as to why and was told that this was an extended stay hotel and there were facilities in our room to cook our own breakfast! I guess extended stay patrons don't have the privilege of swimming or enjoying a simple continental breakfast. How cheap can these people be? Finally arrived at our room put the key in the door and had to ram the door with my shoulder to get it open. It was badly bent.

Where do I begin… My fiancé and I stayed here about a month ago. The customer service is a disgrace! I am pretty sure there were bed bugs on our bed. I informed the lady at the front desk. I was advised someone would be right on it. We took our luggage back to the car and sprayed it down with Lysol. There were what looked to be like cum stains running down the curtains and bed skirts. The nightstand was burnt from cigarettes. Hair was all over the bathroom floor. There were no towels. We were informed that they were in the process of being washed. The bed was half way made and the bedding looked like it was just pulled out of the bottom of a hamper it was so wrinkled. Management has still yet to call. I give up on receiving any kind of reimbursement. I just want to inform anyone looking to book a room.

I have stayed at this hotel once a week for over a year without any complaints. A few weeks ago new owners took over, and everything has been downhill from there. Today, when I checked in, was a problem and when I got to my room, the bathroom was filthy with items left in the toilet and hair in the sink. I should not have to clean a HOTELS bathroom before using. It's obvious the quality of the hotel has drastically gone down. The front desk staff is fantastic in-spite of the new owners! I was charged twice on two different cards, and when this was brought to the owners' attention, I get the runaround. I still have not received a refund! I guaranteed that this shall be my last stay here even if I have to pay more. I will NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. The majority of my colleagues have jumped ship and it's time I do the same.

Clean and comfortable. Great prices. Very spacious and equipped with anything you might need. Will def stay again.

In town on business for a few weeks. Overall hotel is average, but it's a lot of small things that made the stay unpleasant. Company booked room or I would have gone to another hotel after 1 night. Mattress is worn out and sags where people have slept. There is no maid service and they look at you like your crazy for expecting it. I don't need the whole room cleaned, but take out the trash and put fresh towels in the room. The AC shuts off when you are not in the room so at the end of a work day your room is hot. Takes a few hours to cool down. Dresser drawers broken. Wifi sketchy in the evenings. Overall would not recommend and will not be staying at another Candlewood.

This would be a nice place for long term stay. The rooms are well stocked for living. The lending system for games and appliances such as a crock pot or blender is nice. The small store in the lobby is also well stocked and has great snack and microwave dinner options for tired travelers who are willing to pay premium prices. The room wasn't super clean but it wasn't unacceptable. This is a pet friendly hotel but even though we paid extra for that privilege it wasn't very welcoming. The pet area is in the back near train tracks and the interstate. I didn't feel safe out there by myself with the dogs.

Hotel is pet-friendly. Staff is kind. The place feels old & grimy. Is a more than suitable lodging for a longer-term business purpose. Just felt a little iffy for the family. Price was a factor in my choice. If I weren't traveling with my dogs, wouldn't have booked this hotel. Served it's purpose good enough.

Super friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Many restaurants within 2 minutes drive. Slightly musty smell in room. Good shower. Convenient amenities in kitchen of 2-room suite.

Great place to stay! Front desk ladies were super nice, my room was clean and comfy. I only wish the TV were bigger and they offered a breakfast. Overall I was very pleased with the room and service.

My stay itself was enjoyable. I was really impressed by the friendliness of Miranda at the front desk.
However, after I checked out, I was an hour and a half away from the place and realized that I left clothing in the closet there: 2 pairs of pants and 2 tops.
Stupid… yes, I know.
I called and Miranda said she would get the items to me in the mail that day.
Thirteen days later I called because I did not receive the items and was told by Miranda that the housekeeper said nothing was in the room.
Oh really? I certainly do not have the items!
Reluctantly (at least that is how Miranda sounded on the phone) she said she would look in the lost and found (AFTER I asked her if there was a lost and found). I know I will never see my clothing again.
Lesson learned… but I got the impression that she really did not care about my problem anymore.

Have been here 3 notes now. Room is very nice. Staff has been very helpful! There is no pool, bit the one at the Holiday Inn Express we can use because they are owned by the same people. Only problem I have had, is it has the worse Wi-Fi of any place I have every stayed.

I am an emergency services worker traveling with my canine partner. When I called to reserve a room, I informed desk clerk that I was accompanied by by canine. When I checked in several days later, she remembered me. At no time was I informed that I would be charged a $75 pet fee. I did not find out until check out the following morning. When I asked to speak with the manager, I was told that they were not available. After reaching out to IHG, I was informed that I would be contacted by someone from the hotel for a follow up conversation. No one ever contacted me. Stay away from this location. It is owned and operated by an "independent" owner. I would hate to know what other hidden fees that they charge.
To add insult to injury, my room was marked as a non-smoking room and smelled like an ash tray.

Didn't have my room ready for 3 hours after scheduled check-in. Front desk worker wasn't particularly empathetic about telling me as much. Gym is small and collocated with laundry room, so it smells like bleach. In room, remote control battery was dead. Advertisers HBO, but does not have HBO.

Cancelled at 10:30 AM the day before and have cancellation code from the company. This was done more than 24 hours outside of check-in. Hotel billed the credit card without an authorization form, I called and the front desk attendant was extremely rude and disrespectful. They refused to refund back the charge, even though I was in New York State… not Alabama. They had no recollection of ne making a reservation, then they said I checked in using my reservation. The hotel was booked with the hotel company's employee website as I am an employee with another hotel in the same network. My manager spoke with them as well, because I was on the clock working while I "checked in" 9 states away. I will be filing fraud with my credit card company and there is now an investigation opened within the hotel for this. i will never book here again, nor any hotel in the montgomery area thanks to this experience. NOT all IHG ran hotels are like this and are not this poorly run. I hope you all learn about where to book from this and keep in mind, Auburn is 45 minutes down the highway and definitely worth the drive to avoid this.

I love it. They do amazing job just making sure you're happy settled in trying to treat you like this is your home. Best of all I love what they do for our troops we have a ton of them here. And on the other note men and women of the military force thank you for everything you do for our country and trying to keep us safe you are the best. Yours truly Brandon white.

It is a lovely hotel. I like that they are pet friendly but I think there pet fees are to mych money.

I am a Platinum IHG member. I stay, on average, 200 nights per year. My recent stay here was so bad, I had to leave mid stay and get another hotel. When I arrived to my "one room king suite with full kitchen", everything was decent, not immaculate, and could use some upgrades, but not horrible. I attempted to take a shower, only to get out and see that the entire bathroom had flooded from a leak in the tub. The hotel was overbooked, but they were able to get me into a different room, a smaller, non suite, with two double beds (definitely not what I paid for, or enjoy, but they said they would adjust the room price). Morning number two, I woke up and took a shower, only to find that the shower head had been completely removed except for one thread, when I turned the water on, the shower head came off, and water sprayed everywhere (now its 5am, I'm cold and wet and standing a puddle trying to put the shower head back on, thanks, pranksters). When I got off of work I returned to the hotel, my key did not work. The next day, went to work, came back for lunch, key did not work again, they made me a new one. Got back after work, and again the key did not work, but, this time, I stood in the lobby for over 20 minutes until an employee showed up (who claims she was helping another guest who was locked out, but was talking on her cell phone, both before during and after helping me).

This place is brand new and they took all the conventions that hotels have adopted for 100 years and tossed them right out. They had no place to park and unload your luggage, they shoved the bed up against the wall so one person cannot get up and go to the bathroom, put 2 reading lights on one side of the bed. It was just bizarre.

Positives: Very friendly staff, free laundry facilities, spacious rooms, convenience store with reasonably priced snacks. Negatives: slow internet connections, no business center (no place to print airline boarding passes and other documents). This is an extended stay hotel, so maid service is not daily. Overall, though, this hotel is a very good value.
