To start with it took 45 minutes just to get checked in then my bathroom was dirty and the sheets on the bed had a bunch of holes in them like some had been stabbed while laying on the bed. I didn’t get back to the room until late that night and didn’t bother trying to get anything done after it took so long to get checked in. I let the clerk know the next month and she said to call back Monday and they would make it right it’s been a month of promises of a refund and the manager will contact you and still nothing. The Westin Birmingham is definitely on my do not stay list!

The rudest and incompetent staff I've encountered at any hotel. I stay in a lot of hotels and would not suggest this to my worst enemy! The only positive, the room was clean.

Great experience! The valets guys were great as well as the front desk staff. The room was clean. We were given a high floor with a great view of the downtown skyline. Will definitely be returning!

Hands down the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Rooms were nasty. Staff is highly unprofessional when asked to speak to someone about the unprecedented charges they left me speak to the manager of house keeping so just allow your imagination to guide you through that. Had to go back and retrieve items that I had left when I was there they advised me known had been turned in then all of a sudden 30 minutes later when I discovered the charges they can now describe in detail the items that I left. The only manager I have been able to speak to is over house keeping who happens to be the rudest person I have ever spoke to who also finds it professional to hang up on clients.

DO NOT STAY AT WESTIN OF BIRMINGHAM!, unless of course you are looking for an average room with less than averave housekeeping, for a luxury price! p and if youre looking to pay $50 for a breakfast you never receive, then get charged an additional $600 for damages you neither did nor saw, and have your personal items stolen by rude stadf in desperate need of training, then this is the hotel for you! But if you are like me, and you feel $1000 is a lot for a dirty hotel room with limited amenities followed by a legal battle and disputing bank charges is a bit much — STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! ANYWHERE ESE, the motel 6 would have abeen better choice, at least they only charge for what they give you and they leave the light on for you!

Family came out to see my youngest get ready for the senior prom. It was very spacious and everyone really enjoyed themselves.

Good, clean rooms. Nice amenities. Our rooms were not ready until 2 and a half hours after they were scheduled to be so we had to wait in the lobby.

This hotel is nice, staff is nice and so far nothing is wrong at all. The only reason it doesn't get a 5 from me is because it hasn't impressed me or gone above or beyond in any metric. Good place, nice clean but ill probably forget about it in a week.

Love the location. Although it is downtown close to everything the hotel sometimes could go unnoticed and mistaken for a conference center or something or museum. It makes it a perfect secret getaway to remain private but in the middle of the city. All of the standard amenities of the Westin brand can be found.

Rooms are comfortable, staff is friendly and helpful, there are good restaurants near by. This is day 2 of a 8 day stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Birmingham Alabama.

Our second time here, in love with this hotel! The pillows and towels have a sweet lavender smell and the bed is super comfortable. The staff are very approachable and attentive. Jennifer when above and beyond in giving us speedy check in and a great room.

It was a wonderful experience. I really enjoy myself. My friend and I were blown away by the restrooms… talk about "fancy". We both agreed it would be a night we would never forget. Thank you Westin!

We went here for just one night but everything was top notch. We got food ordered to the room twice and everything was delicious. We also upgraded the room upon arrival without any issue and the lady at the front counter was very approachable, as was the rest of the staff we delt with. Parking was light on the day we got in so that wasn't an issue either. We also went and used the pool and everything was very well upkeot there too. We will stay here again when we come through town again.

The location was good. There is currently construction so that made it stressful to find at first. Staff is very nice. Had issues with our key card but they quickly fixed it. Facility is very clean. Room was great! Comfortable bed, quiet floors, good room service.

Stayed here for brand immersion. I had a great time visiting. The rooms and lobby where clean, the hotel bar and café where nice. And the staff was super friendly.

The overall appearance of the hotel is nice. The front desk staff and the valet were attentive, friendly and helpful. The actual room was good, however dirty. When I arrived there was someone else's hair in the sink. The shower had a liner that had mold growing on it. Twice the cleaning staff, took the dirty towels and did not replace them with new towels, one of the days they didn't clean the room at all. Are these things, end of the world? No but definitely something to consider when planning a future stay.

I was at the Westin for a professional development seminar. The parking deck is very convenient to the meeting rooms and I was able to walk right in with no confusion as to where I was going. The meeting rooms were very nice, and they provided drinks, as well as a very good boxed lunch for us that was from the Westin's catering service.

This Westin was in a great location walking distance to uptown. The pub was fun, great drinks and a fun atmosphere. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly. They quickly accommodated our request for a crib in the room. They offer valet parking but there is a parking garage in the back of the hotel, it was $10 a day to park but it had access on the second floor directly Into the Westin. My only complaint was that they were unable to provide a king bed as requested in the reservation or an upgraded room for a loyal SPG member.

This place is awesome made our choice to being our dog a great experience. They treated us like Rockstars and made us feel welcome. We gogot dog bags and they gave us a bone with bags in it. We loved it there and will be back, it was also nice to have the coffee shop connected to the hotel and all the restaurants close to. Very great experience!

Staff here was beyond accommodating, always eager to give us good recommendations forfood and great local spots. I really enjoyed my stay and would say its mostly due to the great advice and helpfulness that the Westin hotel staff provided.

Nice place, but no continental breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi cost extra. I've paid less for more at many hotels comparable to the decor, location, and 'luxury' of this one. If you're not here for a convention on premises, there are plenty of better places to stay in Birmingham.

Comfortable beds, nice rooms, great service. Their breakfast is great, such fresh fruit, and I loved the homemade breads and muffins. Great experience again!

Very professional hotel and staff, but also very friendly. Highly accommodating to any of your needs. Plenty to eat or drink within walking distance. Hotel pricing was also very fair, especially considering the high amount of luxury the deliver and respect they give you. Highly recommend this hotel if your staying in the area.

Birmingham Weston, had to stay for 2 nights for a work event. Had great check in experience, nice and clean room, good breakfast and easy checkout. Very satisfied with stay.

I stayed overnight to attend a convention close by. Our room was spacious and clean. The staff was very kind and helpful and immediately fixed any problems we had during our stay. The only issue I had was with parking. The lot was full because it is shared with the BJCC. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience.

The room was spacious, clean, and very modern. The staff was friendly. The first floor was very loud and busy, but the floor where the room was had no noise. The ability to choose a room service breakfast instead of the usual continental breakfast was nice.

We love the Westin. We stay every year for our annual girlfriends trip to Christmas Village. In 5 years we have never been disappointed. Staff is professional and accomodating. Rooms are clean and comfortable. It is all worth paying more. We never have to leave the complex since parking deck and BJCC are attached. Makes 2 middle aged ladies feel very safe and secure.

I called the Westin and spoke with a young lady and she assured me that either her or Sarah would email me some information regarding the space. I have yet to receive this email. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with the Westin. I will not be booking my wedding there because of this and they were on my list. I hope something is done about this or service is improved from this.

Booked this hotel for my best friend's wedding weekend and overall, we were very pleased. Loved the bathroom and the shower. The room was spacious, the pillows and bed were super comfy, the front desk staff and valet staff were very friendly. Everything is just expensive. 16 oz bottled cokes were $3/each at the front desk. No free guest Wi-Fi, which I didn't care about, but some people might. The only thing that bothered me was a situation with one of the security guards. We took my best friends dress down to the lobby to take pictures of it on their ivy wall and the guard told us we had to have a permit. I was confused, because it was only my friend and I taking pictures (she had her nice camera and I had my phone) but we didn't have a legit, professional photographer and we were clearly not taking pictures of the hotel but ONLY the wedding dress. It was annoying, but we did get some good shots before they stopped us. Overall I was pleased with the hotel.

The location of the hotel in the city is optimal; providing an easy commute to nearby attractions. The service is excellent, and is everything you would expect from a four star hotel. I stayed here because of their pet friendly policy. They even have a grassy area across the street to walk a dog. The room was in excellent condition. Literally the only critique I have was a dirty towel in the bathroom… Things happen and it was still a good hotel.

Went for a work thing. Staff was friendly. Located in a weird area. Gas station is walking distance If one likes adventurous lands. Bathroom was amazing but did have a cut out above shower. Was expecting someone to open it and wave hi to my naked self while I was showering or something else. Beds weren't too bad.

We stayed here for the 2017 NSDA Nationals Tournament. Honestly, no complaints. The room was extremely clean, and hotel staff were gracious with amenities. A friend of mine really appreciated the mini office the hotel offered, with free desktop and printing access. The location also had an indoor sky bridge with direct access to the conference center nearby, which was really convenient.

I stay in hotels 5 days a week for work, and have never been to a hotel with this great of guest appreciation. Nobody here has an ounce of stress. My family wants to plan another trip back here, just to stay at the Westin Birmingham. Great staff! Beautiful property. Very accomidating. Staff is Like family.

We have stayed at many, many SPG hotels. Last night, we stayed at the Westin due to a power outage at our house in Birmingham. Since the Westin is pet friendly, we decided to come for the night. I have never been greeted so warmly or received such amazing service than I did last night at the Westin. Pam was beyond great providing us with a doggy treat bag and bed. Best service EVER!

The entrance was great! The valet was right there and surprisingly helpful upon our arrival, even though it was 1 a. M. When we arrived. I took a star away because, although, the front desk clerk was nice, she didn't give us all the information concerning amenities and how to access them upon check in. We had to remember to ask about the roof top pool, breakfast, the welcome pack for our pet, and Wi-Fi access codes. Each question was asked individually instead of the clerk giving us all the information upfront. However, if a half star was available, I wouldn't have taken an entire star for that. It was late, and she wasn't rude or anything. Also, the room was incredibly nice. A very great experience. Keep in mind, complimentary breakfast isn't included, so be sure to add your breakfast pack to your bill, or you will have to pay separately at the Pub inside of the Hotel. The Pub inside this hotel was great; check out my separate review on it in the comments.

Came to Bham to help my son pack up and move. He booked my room for me and to my surprise it was here at the Westin Hotel. Check in was sweet and pleasant although I didnt get the 2 gentlemen names but they were very nice. Had to add another night and once again one if the gentlemen from my check-in was so nice to tell me to "just let me know and I will take care of that for u. " Love the room, restaurants, the staff, and the atmosphere of the area. My room view was great. Will definitely be back again.

We did not get the room that we had reserved. It took a long time for them to arrange a room for us. We won't ever stay at a Westin again. Extremely expensive and nothing to show that it was worth it. We won't recommend to anyone. The employees were very friendly though and the mattress was comfortable.

Room was not clean when I checked in. Bed was made and towels were new but the room was very dusty, carpet had not been vacuumed, crumbs on floor, spider webs on lamps, etc. Looked as if no one has stayed in this room in a while to be honest. I ask the desk to have it cleaned while I was gone to dinner and came back to about half of the things being done. Surprising for this caliber of hotel as the Westin has always been a super nice place to stay. Maybe they just missed this one time. Did not make any compensation for this at checkout either as I went back over it with the front desk person and shared my disappointment.

We came for a relaxing weekend and we heard the rooftop pool was nice. The "rooftop" pool is on the 2nd floor and it was pretty small. It was still nice though.

Recently stayed at this hotel for the Wilder vs. Arreola Boxing event. The hotel itself is beautiful and has been maintained wonderfully. It connects to the Legacy Arena and is very close to restaurants, bars, and even has a small rooftop pool attached. Our room was nice, but not worth the over $300 dollars we paid for the evening. For that price I feel like basic amenities such as Wi-Fi, breakfast, and even a little plastic laundry bag should be included. Additionally, you have to pay 8.00 dollars at the parking garage everytime to leave. Insane that this 4 star hotel has no parking garage or free parking. Finally, when we pulled back the sheets on our bed there were obvious body fluid stains embedded in the mattress. Overall, I am underwhelmed with this hotel and will look elsewhere when visiting Birmingham.

The hotel is nice and new. Front desk staff was very nice. I left my phone charger in the room the day I checked out. I called the westin while I was at the airport telling them if they would be able to look for it. Apparently I called the corporate office, that phone call to get my charger back took forever because the corporate office went back and forth with the westin of alabama. But anyhow they said they found it and will be sending it back. Exactly one month later I still have not received my charger so I called the actual westin not the corporate office they said they have no record of corporate calling the westin of alabama. The westin security said they did not have any cell phone chargers even though the corporate office yes they did find it and will be sending it back to me (my fault I should of got a confirmation number). Many of the people reading this may think I could of just misplaced it in my bag but no, I was there on two day business trip and did not bring much. The only electronics I brought was my shaver, phone and charger/cord. Everything fit in one backpack (two shirts, two jean pants, two pairs of underwear, two socks, a belt, and one pair of shoes. I purchased hair product and travel toothbrush and paste while I was there) I know its only a charger but I know I left the charger in the room I stayed in. If they lost it I would not have cared but they told me sorry the charger was never there and there's nothing they can do about it.

Having stayed here twice, I can highly recommend this property, for both it's always pleasing Westin aesthetic, and the exceptional levee of service that the staff has clearly been trained to give their guests.

Todd English Pub was packed out for a concert at the BJCC, so we weren't able to wait. But I gave the rating 5 stars, because the staff was friendly and the hotel looked incredibly clean and beautiful. I will go back and try again to eat / drink there.

We got the last room available for New Years Eve. Sold out hotel, sold out concert. Every single staff member was curtious and helpful. Despite not being able to be with their loved ones, they came together and gave us all an amazing experience! Clean, beautiful rooms… I HIGHLY recommend The Westin for your next Birmingham adventure. My overall experience at this hotel was below satisfactory. At check-in I was not greeted and actually had to stand there and wait while the 3 employees behind the desk, who were too involved in other things to even acknowledge that I was standing there finished their conversations. I was not told of any amenities nor given any direction to my room. Breakfast was a huge disappointment. I had the breakfast bar one morning at a cost of $20; you would expect the food to be good. There wasn't much to choose from and most of the items were low or completely empty and were not filled in a timely manner. The next morning I decided to eat off the menu, ordering french toast and eggs. After waiting a very long time for my food I finally received the french toast and was told my eggs would be right out. Ten minutes later I received my eggs and they were undercooked. I was not impressed by the customer service I received during my visit. I will not choose to stay at this hotel again.

The hotel itself is nice however the staff for the most part is not. The welcoming staff did not tell me anything about the hotel, the amenities or even where my room was located. My luggage was lost — I asked them to bring it to my room once it was found — they requested that I just wait in the lobby until they located it. Once I got to my room the carpet had just been shampooed and was still wet, the blinds didn't open and the sink stopper was not functional in the bathroom. The best thing about the place was Octane Coffee Bar (which by the way is not even associated with the hotel).

I recently used The Westin for a corporate meeting — booked both meeting space and 15 rooms for 3 nights. Nothing about our visit lived up to the expectation or the brand. The root of the problem lies in management. (1) After booking with the sales team, no one from the events/catering team reached out to me. I reached out 2 weeks prior to the event to tie up lose ends. Well EVERYTHING had to be decided immediately because both the event and the catering manager were on vacation. They bounced out and did not leave me a point of contact. (2) I made 15 welcome bags with hand picked, locally made products. The front desk staff was supposed to hand them to our guests at check in. Instead they put them into the rooms and 3 people never received bags. These bags were $40 each and took a lot of time to assemble, No one apologized for this mishap and I had 3 attendees who felt left out/unappreciated. (3) I heard from my event attendees just how awful the food service was. People who placed breakfast orders never received them or worse received them cold or late. (4) I constantly had to hunt down a hotel staffer to replace the refreshments in our meeting space or empty the overflowing trash. There were multiple events going on the week of ours and it was evident that we were the lowest priority. (5) On top of this, we had issues with the billing department charging the wrong CC. I will never stay at a Westin nor will I use them for event space again.

This was my first time at this hotel was from Friday-Tuesday, September 4-8, and my stay was wonderful, considering that I was their for my cousin's funeral that took care of my whole family, my 92 year old grandmother walks very slow and gets tried easy so when I would leave the hotel with her they would either bring the wheelchair to my room or I could come and get it, the staff would also assist me in help get her in and out of the car. The rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable, I especially loved the rain shower, not a shower but that Kohler shower head changed my mind, If ever I have to do some business in that area with my family this is were I will be staying.

Worst experience I have had in a long time. The staff is rude and not at all what a 5 star hotel should be. The room was OK but the staff was terrible.

Had an outstanding stay here earlier this week while in Birmingham on business. Here's my breakdown: Pros: — Location. Easy to get to from downtown and the airport. Is also part of the new and growing Uptown district, where there are lots of nice restaurants and bars — Excellent service — New, modern property. Felt very much like a W Hotel — Pool/Bar level was very nice — Clean, quiet rooms — Nice pub attached to it Cons: — The parking situation took awhile to adjust to (in the garage) — The Lobby Bar was very small (although there was a bigger pub attached to the property) I will hands-down stay here for all my future visits to Birmingham.

The hotel is beautiful and service was top notch, but I wish Birmingham had a better, more modern skyline.

Great Experience. I went during the winter so too cold for the pool but I walked outside to see it and both of us (me and the mr) agree it was nice. Okay so why I marked 5 stars is because I was dog tired when I arrived (early before actual check-in) and they handled EVERYTHING for me. They greeted me at valet and took all my luggage up to my room, accommodated my little brat (lady bear the dog) by making her feel at ease and even offered a doggy pillow, and then made sure to point me to the cafe shop in their hotel so I could wake up a bit (oh and I got an espresso and they made a flower in the foam). BONUS: Their tavern has meed or maybe its mead. I think mead. Yum.

When it comes to decor and amenities, the Westin is one of the nicest hotels in Birmingham. But there are some issues: Keys: Their key system is terrible. At least 25% of the time your room key doesn't work, and often it will deactivate during your stay, It's annoying. Check in/out: This is a very slow process. Slow enough to be frustrating. Location: As of today, there are virtually no restaurants within walking distance. The only restaurant is Todd's English Pub, or what my co-workers and I call Todd's English Slop, because it's the worst restaurant in Birmingham. They also don't have Coffee in the lobby in the mornings, which is a small issue, but is something you come to expect at a decent hotel.

Just wrapped up a five night stay and I can say it was one of the best experiences I've had a hotel. Service was top notch.
