17th-30th August 2020 Upon first glance it looks like a very nice & good hotel. But there’s lots of little things that add up & make it un-pleasant. The building it self us beautiful & with a gorgeous view of the city, this cannot be faulted. The building was built in 1835 & you can certainly tell. The bedroom doors are tricky to lock & unlock due to being so old. Wifi does not work, we have 3 rooms & the connection is not good at all. In one room we have a single bed, it’s a very hard & uncomfortable mattress on a thin plank of wood. 2/3 bathroom rooms don’t shut & lock. There’s no where to wash or dry your clothes, we were advised by the staff to wash & hang to dry in our rooms… now our rooms smell of damp. We are here for 2 weeks & we’re on day 6. There’s no designated place for smoking, guests & staff are smoking anywhere & everywhere. (My sister has asthma) In the hotel description it’s written ‘mini bar’ in the rooms facilities, there were 2 bottles of water upon arrival & any extra are chargeable. The breakfast is very basic, needs improvement. Most of the staff are hard workers & polite. Last night my baby was crying & we revived a call from the lobby that guests are complaining about the noise. I mean, what do you want me to do with a crying 11 month old? The previous nights we have heard kids running up & down the corridors at night but we didn’t complain about them. So this was the icing on the cake.
