Its not 5 star although food is excellent … rooms need work bare plaster not enough towels… Maintainace had to be called every day for the pool pump or the shower or the ac. Rooms are never cleaned to good standard. If your on half board you are allowed wine as part of your package but the staff don't tell you this. You will also be sharing your room with lizzards and frogs.

All spectacular, charming service, willing to help you and make your stay as best as possible, the only thing that would improve, is the time of closing the bar or have a place where you can have a drink or dance inside the resort itself, otherwise great.

Myself and husband stayed at Outrigger for 5 night for the last leg of our mini tour around Thailand. This hotel was exactly what we wanted it to be after such a busy tour we just wanted something that was peacefully relaxing and quiet. It was a little out of the way from central Ko Samui however we didn't mind. If you did want to get into town the hotel offers a free shuttle service leaving twice daily. Alternatively you can also get a cab into town for 400 TBH from the hotel or use an App called Grab which you can download to your phone and get taxes a lot cheaper. We pretty much used Grab for our whole stay in Thailand, great tip that someone told us just sitting in the shopping mall one day. Anyway, the hotel was a bit small to what I am use to but was really beautiful, I really liked the boutique feel about it, great pool area, dinning under the big tree on the beach was also lovely first thing in the morning and in the evening. The beach is a lovely natural beach, however unfortunately its not that usual-able because there is a lot of rock etc under the surface as you enter the sea. The hotel does provide special shoes that you can use to go in but not a lot of people tended to use them. The pool bar was also great and the cocktails were full on! just how I like them. I was very impressed with our bungalow — it was modern with a natural relaxing decor, spacious and felt very private. Our private pool was great and loungers inviting.

Does not deserve its price, quality of services very unequal. Housekeeping of questionable quality, many crawling and disgusting pool area in our 1st bedroom. After a shout at the end of our 2nd night the room Manager (very efficient and courteous) has upgraded us to a villa of best Bill and has assigned us a very conscientious maid for the cleaning party. Nevertheless, despite the efforts provided we have experienced other annoyances in this dwelling. An air conditioning that was leaking terribly and made us unable to use the bathtub and a terrible smell of urine coming from the pipes of the shower and who was hiring the room every morning at 8:00.
The housekeeping staff and restaurants are very good, while the host staff is it and it's a great place to say not welcoming for 2 sous. In particular the person in charge of the activity bookings that was passing is time to play online and royally ignored the customers.
In brief mixed experience saved by some people who were able to make the stay enjoyable despite the inconvenience experienced. To emphasize in positive the late check out of which we profited graciously and in negative point the beach absolutely disgusting (cigarette butt, packaging…) in addition to being impassable.

Amazing resort and great location and customer service.

This is a beautiful resort, but the pools are filthy and the overall feel is very run down, it isn't worth it for the price.

Very nice and clean facility. Nice staff and great pool suites. The restaurant is a bit expensive and the beach a bit rocky but very private. The hotel is a bit secluded but you can walk or take a short taxi ride to some restaurants, 7 Eleven, a good massage studio and tourist info.

Excellent location, the staff is really nice and considerate. The smile is on. The meals are excellent. Free shuttles are available for Chaweng, but provide an extra budget for the taxi if you want to get around…

Wonderful hotel, it is worth the extra money to take in the hand! No drunk children, no loud music, quiet and a great beach. We had a suite with private pool including sea views on the beach. The breakfast is international and Thai, the noodle soup is divine… Cocktails and drinks can be drunk with ice without hesitation. The rooms are very nice and quiet. A scooter can be rented directly in front of the hotel, the dear landlady drove us also to the ferry… Hotel staff was exemplary…

Truly a very beautiful and well kept resort with stunning views and comfortable, luxurious rooms. The staff were friendly, accomodating and very quick to respond to service calls. We chose it for its privacy and remoteness but unfortunately it ended up being too quiet for us for this reason. There was no night entertainement and hardly anyone around after sundown. We ended up spending little time there which is a shame being such a beautiful property. Things we noticed: no iron or board, no microwave, ridiculously expensive minibar and "stocking fee" (travellers, theres a 7eleven 5 min away so DONT spend $10 on a sprite), the patio furniture was very stained, not water resistant and the patio was never swept of debri, the deck and trimings eere very weathers and desperately need refinishing and there were large burn holes in one of our curtains probably from a smoking guest. Service was wonderful and we rented mopeds for 400 baht a day that got us all around the island easily. Cabs dont have meters and are more expensive than Canadian cabs. If youre staying at this resort I suggest renting a vehicle or taking advantage of their (limited) carpool service to Chaweng.

Fantastic resort! Highly recommend! Private villas with plunge pool/spa and deck area. Very cool design with great attention to detail. Beautiful beachside fine dining restaurant. Included breakfast has ala carte options as well as buffet. Attended the Thai themed dining night for dinner which was incredibly delicious and good value for money. There is also a cooking school. Wonderful pool facility with lounge chairs on the deck and beachside. And there's a pool bar! Private beach shared with one other resort. Canoes and SUPs available to use complimentary. Cannot praise the staff enough! So friendly and attentive and always happy to help. Reception/concierge can arrange tours, rental vehicles… anything you need. Again, highly HIGHLY recommended. I'm sad to leave.

Nice experience: staffs were professional and gentle. We have to leave our room at 12:00 for the checkout. But our flight was at 19:00. So they offer a shower room for us. Thank you very much. View was excellent.

Nice quiet houses, really good for couples and people who want to relax. Very good food. Small beach, but not crowded. You can go by car to Cha Weng in less than 10 minutes.

If you want to holiday in a sophisticated quiet place away from the tourist currents, this is the place to be. Small fine resort. We with child really enjoyed the stay. We want to highlight the good food, the extremely friendly and helpful staff. We were very recovered and like to come back.

Spectacular Place and people super attentive.

Overall the staff were friendly, the room was pretty and bed was comfortable, the resort is beautiful and in a quiet area. We came for 4 nights for our honeymoon, we booked the pool vila which need some renovations in the room and at the pool area, there is no much privacy as people walking outside can see the pool area. Also the gate to the room is at the pool area (entering the room from a sliding window door) which if we didn't ask to put a lock from outside the gate opened all the time, so it's like to have your room door open and anyone can go inside. The breakfast was nice but to compare with other "5 star" hotels there was no much selection at the buffet. The drinks at the main pool are over priced and prices are around the same as in Canada 260 baht which is about CAD$10 for a cocktail better to buy some drinks at the 7/11 that is just across the street much much cheaper and make more sense because you are in Thailand and it should not cost the same as at home. The beach is not for swimming, it is full of rocked and we were very disappointed. We had to rent a motorcycle to be able to go to other beaches and to find reasonable priced food which can be found 5 — 10 min way from the hotel. We had to call housekeeping every day to ask them to clean our room. Next time in Samui I will choose other hotel.

A hotel that is very nice if you take the individual bungalows. The villas have the largest private pool. The only two drawbacks is that the private pisicinas are full of leaves and do not clean them daily. And the beach is not paradise, at least now when I've been there in September. The perfect deal.

Just went here with my husband. It was an amazing trip, the staff and facilities are great and having a private pool is a real treat. Definitely recommend.

Tidy and elegant with great food! Good for couples or R&R if you can't move anymore from partying too much.

Beware of the Crooks on the FRONT DESK. The hotel has a wonderful location, on the Beach Front. We went on a family Holiday and booked four Villas. While checking out, we were in a hurry as it was time for flight. The front desk executive (Their names were PUI & BM) deliberately delayed the check-out process. We were in a rush and would have missed our flight. They accused us of taking a small PILLOW from the room. In order to cut the drama short, I said I was willilng to pay for the pillow, and asked how much was it? PUI said it was 200 Thai Baht (it was a baby cushion 8 cm by 8 cm). I said Okay, here is 200 Baht. As soon as I took out the cash, she said, WAIT. It is 1000 Thai Baht! This was just a way to make CASH, knowing that we were getting desperately late and would pay anything. I refused to pay the same. How can you accuse someone booking 4 villas in a 5 star property, who tipped a few thousand baht during the course of the stay of stealing a baby cushion? I asked them to check our bags. My wife went to the room, and found the Pillow in the Villa, below the BED! Such Crooked and Mean Staff. Otherwise, the property was good! The food was nice. Especially the Pizzas. Watch out for the FRONT DESK.

Beautiful place, beautiful room, but I thought the pool was too small for a villa. Size of a jacuzzi more like it. Overall experience was great. P/S: hotel is in the middle of no where so be prepared to pay exorbitant price to move around…

The place is well located in a calm area, 10 min walks to the first shops … All rooms are quite big with private toilets and shower. Bathroom and bedroom are separate by a large curtains. All shampoo, shower gel … are provides and the smell is local… Coconut / lemongrass ;) Enjoy You are in Koh Samui! Depend of your budget, small or quite long swimming pool in your villa. A must if you have the luck to got the long one ;) Main swimming pool is awesome, I mean, it face the sea and you can swim for real ;) Enjoy it before the break fast at 7am, you gonna be the only one who could also hear hear the calm waves sound and birds … ;) No more klaxons… But if you love swimming in the sea, is not the best hotel to chose so then you could go for Tongsai bay and get both ;) A big thanks to the staff who are helpful, discret and professional with this Thai touch we, as tourist loves!

Small boutique hotel. Attentive friendly staff.

Slipping into a tub of hot aromatic water just below the air conditioner in the middle of the bedroom, is just the beginning of the awesomeness of this resort. My wife and myself needed a break from our busy schedule and after a lot of speculation, the blue waters of Samui beckoned us. We choose to stay at AKARYN and the moment we entered, I knew that I had not made a mistake. We were greeted by an extremely courteous and ever smiling staff. The resort is amazing, located at Hanuman Bay, having its small clean private beach. We had a private pool villa, with all the modern luxuries and still giving a feeling of closeness to nature. The pool was very clean and had total privacy. The resort has a cascading swimming pool with a wet bar. It was very hot in Samui and the wet bar was a great welcome. Everyday breakfast used to be a great experience at 'The Edge'. I had one of the best thin crust pizzas at AKARYN. Ochos steakhouse was another attraction. Here we were served the most tender and juicy Chiangmai baby chicken. It was by far the best meal of our vacation. We had long walks along the sandy beach and lay on the beach chairs with cool drinks. The entry into the sea is rocky, but they provided us with a canoe and, it being a bay, the water is still and we could venture quite deep inside the sea. Canoeing was absolute fun. The staff helped us by suggesting the places to visit and we roamed around almost the whole of Samui on a rented bike.

Everything almost perfect. Polite stuff, very good food. A bit of expensive transport, but overall delightful stay. We will be back.
