A hidden gems on Lipe, we were welcome by the lovely and nice Khun Yana ^^, The rooms were very clean and nice. Value and definitely come back.

Wonderful place to stay! A good spot to relax, with a gorgeous view of Sunrise Beach, and the coolest bar and restaurant by the shore — their nachos and drinks on the happy hour stole my heart (and sobriety). If we ever go back to Koh Lipe, we’ll stay here, for sure!

Cozy and lovely place to spend your days on vacation. Amazing sea view right in front of your face. Never get bored to do nothing and just be relaxed and enjoy the beach! ❤️

Absolutely the best resort on the island, on the best beach! I love the bohemian atmosphere, the serenity, the feeling, the design. Simplicity is beauty. The bungalows are my dream of living. No need for air condition, when you have the breeze blowing threw the house. The reception, bar, restaurant is the heart of the resort, where a nice mix of people meet, families, party people, singles, couples of all ages. Good service, diving and yoga is in the resort. Price is reasonable. A good way of living. I will return.

Wooden bungalows next to a beautiful beach. In the bathroom there are towels, soap, shampoo and even conditioner.
The beds have mosquito net and are very comfortable. Everything is very new and clean. The restaurant's food is delicious and there is a water refill station. There are daily yoga classes and a diving center. I did 4 amazing fun dives with them, super recommended! All the castaway staff is lovely … I went there for 5 days and in the end I stayed more than a week, that island catches you! I will definitely stay there again the next time I go to Koh Lipe ♡

Great food, awesome views, beautiful beach.

We planned to stay for 5 nights, but we stayed for 10. Totally in love with the beach (absolutely positive it's the most beautiful beach in the world), the bungalows, the food, the atmosphere and most of all the staff. They stole our hearts and that of our two small children. Especially our one year old boy. Every morning with breakfast he would literally run into their arms and they would entertain en cuddle with him. For us this place and the people hold s special place in our hearts and I would recommend this to everyone. Thanks for a great stay. Birk, Rune and their parents Noud en Saar :-)

I love this resort! It's a beautiful place to stay. Stayed for 10 days with friends and family. Chris in the dive shop was amazing! As Freedivers we love this location on the island we dived everyday, it was truly amazing. I love the location! This was my second stay and I'm already planning 2020! With more friends and diving. Thanks Castaway for the wonderful time.

Great little charming bungalows right in front on the ocean. Food is a bit pricey but tasty. Stayed 5 nights!

Favourite island in Thailand. It’s a small one and very easy by motorbike. Good party and good restaurants.

Very nice island in the middle of Andaman sea. It's just one hour by boat from Satun. And it's very close to Adam island and a lot of other small island that I suggest to visit, such as Koh Ra Si. In the Island you can find a lot of resort to stay overnight, lots of restaurant and even nightclubs. You'll never be bored in Lipe!

Nature is sure great. You can just buy a one day trip from the pier and let the guide drop you at few island. It would be nice if you can spend a night there, sit and sip at the bar of your hotel. However, I don't think this place is good for those who really want a natural touch. Too many tourists, dirty and expensive street food just like in Khaosan Road.

Yeah the island itself is quiet pretty, but that doesn't hide the fact that this island has horrible garbage management issue. The island is extremely polluted by plastics and all kind of imaginable waste. Which is a shame for such a beautiful island. Things on the island are a lot more expensive (compare to Mainland Thailand and even Langkawi Malaysia) and seriously if you are planning for a relaxing island getaway. This island is overrated and not recommended. There's no proper Jetty when arriving on the island, sounds fun to walk on water? Right? Not so when you comes with luggage or when the weather or wave is against you… And the immigration site is extremely inefficient… with mindless long wait, name calling one after another to queue up for passport check, and for the whole time there was only one person working to clear custom, totally unsystematic… The island does has nice and good resort. But for all the fuss, this place is not recommended. Worse still, the couple of massage parlors we tried on this island is some of the worst among Thailand. Your bucks will be better spent elsewhere. Seriously… think TWICE before you book your trip here. (I am here on mid of June 2018, which can be considered as off peak season, you can imagine things will be much worse during peak season of Dec — Feb)

I'm tired of those motorcycles at the small streets, for example they say" The Walking street" there shouldn't let any motorcycles or taxi ride on while too many people are walking. And the taxi is expensive for the short distance, they ask for 50 baht per person. I think that is too much. Beaches are beautiful except some areas in Lipe island are nasty and too dirty.

Cozy island with great opportunities. Beautiful snorkeling and diving around the Adang archipelago. Several beaches allow for moderate spacing out from the crowd, and good restaurants may be found on the beachfronts or on Walking Street.

Koh Lipe was mesmerizing! Great beach, stunning views and had a wonderful time there. Food and hostel was a bit expensive (expected of an island) but still affordable. Sunrise and sunset beach is a must! If you want to try island hopping, there are a few options you can try. Full day trip, half day trip and sunset trip are available.

An excellent place to rest, the food is very rich and the wave of the people is barbaric! Very nice to go in couple.

An island that is definitely not made for peace seekers and beach lovers. Beaches are beautiful, but bathing is hardly possible due to the 1, 000 adjacent and Deriden boats. A lot of hustle and lots of Malaysians can be found here. Anyone who wants to drink some overpriced prices compared to other Thai islands cocktails and shopping may be just the thing.

Crowded island of tourists, dirty and everything is more expensive than on the other islands.

White beaches Although I have seen much better, clean sea (but there is better also in Italy), Scarsini bottoms (very rare and even dead coral). Not the advice x diving, in the complex care, cloudy water, visibility reduced and marine fauna scarce both as diversity and quantity. In Southeast Asia it is far better (Indonesia or Borneo) at far lower prices… it is sufficient to have a minimum of organizational capacity and not to take tourist packages at exorbitant prices. Island very "pumped" from what are the promotions of tour operators but that, in value for money, is not justified.

Small island, comfortable, you get to all sides walking. With white, fine sandy beaches and coral seabeds very close to the coast, perfect for snorkeling only with glasses and a tube.
There are plenty of hotels, resorts and hostels, that is to say, with prices for all the pockets. There are also plenty of restaurants to eat and dine in. The excursions are practically obligatory, it should be a crime not to visit the rest of the archipelago:D

One of the best island in this area. I personally feel this is a virgin island without much development. I hope it will be maintained for next generations. Crystal clear water with full of fantastic corals and fishes. No need to go far or island hopping for snorkelling as we can enjoy snorkelling around the beach. There is no motor water activities such jet ski which additional point to visit here for relax. One simple and nice street where you can find everything for beach life; bars, restaurants, massage centres etc…

Beautiful beaches and some places have amazing cheap food. Sunrise Beach, heavily recommended when open! Ice cold refreshing beers and cocktails are just what you want on hot days and that's delivered here every time! Only down fall… It's getting to Crowded here.

First time here in 2010 was amazing. Big changes since then for sure with over development. The island is a victim of it's own success. I still think its a good place to go but the prices are now very high so you need to be prepared for that. The day trips for snorkelling are great, kayak around the island in 3 hours or so is a great trip too. 711 prices are double the mainland be prepared for high cost of water, food and booze. Don't just show up expecting to find a cheap place to stay because you won't. Power and water are expensive on the island and that means the prices for accomodation are very high too. Low season is good time to go for low price and no people. I had a week in August 3 years ago and there was almost no one there. It was amazing to be on my own.

The southernmost island of Thailand in the Andaman Sea 'Ko Lipe' is a pearl. Postcard beaches and and the turquoise water of the Andaman Sea try to lead You to believe You are in paradise — this might be the case in the low season but in high season it can be really crowded. If so be aware to book accommodation in advance, otherwise You might end up sleeping at one of the beautiful beaches…

One of the most beautiful islands in Thailand. White sand and crystal clear sea, beautiful beaches and spectacular sunsets!

Truly paradise! The over all feel of the resort is close to nature, eco friendly with a touch of luxury. The big wooden bungalows gives you a really cosy feeling that you are in nature, but they are still very clean, safe and organized. Mosquito net, electric mosquito repellent, nice furniture, arts, and safe box. I really like that the resort tries to be eco-friendly, theres free water-refills in the restaurant and theres no AC or hot water so you feel better about not exploiting this little paradise island, and we did perfectly well without it! The restaurant is also a very nice place with chill out music and lovely menu. Don't miss the fried papaya sallad and Thaijitos from the bar! If you like the sea you won't be disappointed. Theres a reef just of the beach and you can rent snorkeling gear in the diveshop or go on a snorkeling or dive trip. The dive site Stonehenge is amazing if you are a diver :)

We stayed in Castaway Ko Lipe some days ago (mid-March) during almost a week. After our trip around Thailand I confirm Ko Lipe has the most breathtaking beaches so far. The atmosphere of this island is just awesome. Castaway bungalows were totally what I expected for an authentic experience, however I would like to complain about the quality of the staff. Even if we knew Castaway was not a 5* resort we were pretty disappointed. Just few examples: nobody of the staff (restaura…nt / reception) welcomed us neither when we arrived (yes, we did the check in but in a very practical way), but also during our stay. They missed very simple and polite manners such as say 'good morning, good night, enjoy your day' to the guests.
Indeed, several times the staff at the restaurant forgot our order. The worst, they never came to appologize but even they didn't realize it! People in Thailand are known by its charming, respectful and polite personality. However, I didn't find it completely in Castaway what I think is a pity because this place is just unbelievable.
Despite this I would suggest Castaway but I would really appreciate to know that we just didn't have good chance! ;)

This is far from the Maldives. The island was turned into Pattong beach. The beaches are made by boats. Hotels and bungalows are crowded, waiters do not cope. Do not use Tigerlane travel to get here! Just Spidboty! Don't spent your time and money! Go to REAL Maldives!

White beach with very fine sand. Small island, very touristy. Good grilled fish every night, delicious Thai pancakes with banana, mango and all that you want, made with skill by the locals. Live music in several venues, both on the beach and in the central Lane. Pyrotechnic games on the beach in the evening, very suggestive. Boat trips to the nearby islets not to be missed, swim with the fishes and see a lot of clownfish, they are beautiful!
Of course, after a few days, you no longer know what to do, if you love sunbathing and reading, okay, otherwise you may want to leave.

We stayed there for two nights and had a great time. We would definitely come here again.
Our bungalow was very cozy and really spacious.
We enjoyed the good service from the very friendly staff. They also booked us our trip to KL for a very good price.
The bungalows are directly at the sunrise beach where we enjoyed the beautiful sunrises in the morning. We could also watch them from our bungalow through the huge glass windows.
From the restaurant and bar — where they serve great food and drinks — you have a wonderful view over the turquoise sea.
We can highly recommend to come to Koh Lipe and stay at the castaway resort and have a great time.

Wife and I had both a garden breezy and beach front breezy over 5 sunny days. Garden was good but pay extra for the beach front if one's available, amazing sunrise views from our bed (or hammocks) in BF2! We also did our Open Water Courses with their professional and friendly dive shop and enjoyed amazing dive sites after a short time mastering skills. Thanks to Harun and our instructor Pieter for getting us certified, and to Top in main bar who makes the best cocktails on the island to celebrate! You are all legends and we will be back :)
