Amazing location for the price. The only con was the bathroom, too small. I wouldn't mind paying a little more for a refurbished bathroom. But very good experience in general.

For unassuming travelers. Dirty bungalows. Close to the sea. It's a beautiful beach. Nearby dive center.

The bungalows seem to not clean them too well, there were cobwebs in the lights and on some walls. The bathroom is very justito, and the first bungalow we got smelled of stale/fecal water/or something odd. They didn't put any trouble to change that if. The front desk did not have a simple first aid kit to cure a wound after snorkeling, and the Wi-Fi worked at times, many things to improve. The location is very good for that.

Simple, unfortunately somewhat rundown & filthy bungalows. The staff was mundfaul and the owner was rather rude. For every other ingredient for the sparse breakfast one had to pay extra. It's a pity, because with little effort it could be a gem right on the sea and in walking distance to the city.

Cold reception, beach right next to the harbor, you can see and hear the shuttles of tourists without stopping. No merchant spirit on their part, flee the breakfast included, it is a shame. Wifi HS. Left after one night. Only the water is clear and good for snorkeling but in the midst of the divers boats, shuttles of connections, tourist boats… Infernal. Plan for mosquito repellent. Value for money very bad, we find much better for cheaper.

It is very good to have the beach in front of the hotel. You have to pay for the air conditioning. No electrical outlets. There's only 1 per room. Regular bathroom.

Cool place, on the beach. Reasonably priced foods and drinks. Younger people around. Music and bars.

Very nice, a few steps from the port but away from the noise of nightlife, great breakfast with choices also for vegetarians.

Our bungalow was great. A nice terrace with hammock! The beach is also great. Nearby there is a shipwreck where you can snorkel.
The in-house restaurant is also highly recommended. We have never eaten such a good Thai green curry!
At night it is also rather quiet. Who likes can go to you beach bar and drink cocktails.

Excellent service. Lovely area. Quality food and lovely beach to enjoy. All there is left to do is come see it for yourselves.

Small hot bungalows in a mosquito ridden forest garden. There were a lot of mosquitoes when we were there in July: we had a lot of rain. But the Sensi Garden Resort and Blue Diamond Resorts, which are just next door on either side, were just as mosquito ridden. The room is a very basic wooden hut on short stilts. There's no shelves or hooks: all your stuff has to go on the wooden floor. We had two single beds with mosquito nets. There's a small wall fan, which struggled on the hot nights. On the plus side, there's a good fridge and wall safe. We normally prefer this type of basic accommodation: maybe it was because there was no view of the sea and the forest was dark and dank. The rain didn't help. We moved to the much more expensive Blue Diamond resort next door after two nights. The restaurant serves western as well as Thai and is well priced and the food is good. Very nice staff. The beach is clean and the sand is fine and great for children. You're quite close to the pier here so you get a lot of noise from the big boats like the Lamprayah express. The noise is acceptable and the place is quiet once they have gone. It's the lively end of the beach and means that you're close to the shops and the town's restaurants and facilities.

The guy who owns the place is super friendly and accommodating and the bungalows are beautiful. Bed was so comfortable it should be illegal lol.

Well … good it's cheap and for a night War it's fine.

I came here a short while ago, and I've been to many places since then but no where has beaten here at this hotel. The people who owner it were the best and they made my experience of the island so much better. I even got a photo with them so I could remember them. They even waved us away. While you stay here, these people will be your family.

It was ok. Rickety bungalows if that's ur thing. Aircon ok. Very nice and helpful owner.

Fantastically beautiful, great atmosphere, nice bungalows, sympathetic owners. Smears for pommes, wc (paper must not be thrown into wc. But here is so everywhere) and flourishing tourism. Are in the middle of the middle september there in the middle of the season, i. E. Less tourists, but for that you get all the more swapped by taxi riders, restaurants, etc. It is a pity that the island has now been stretched so strongly in front of the carts of tourism. Unfortunately, it is no longer a secret tip.

We had wonderful days at the Royal resort.
The bungalow was class, the bed is very comfortable and the hammock brand new.
The food very tasty and the atmosphere very relaxed.
The team was very friendly, interested and helpful. The owner is totally nice and organises for its guests, what ever it takes. Sure we will be back!

The management should consider bed bugs problem seriously as for the customers safety and hygiene matters. The room is tiny not enough space to walk around after having the lagguage on the floor. My husband and I have made a complaint to the staff about the twin single bed — not as per customers requested. The hotel receptionist was not helpful she told us we had no choice but to stay in that room. We checked out on the same day knowing we already paid to the hotel. I have never experienced anything like this before. Overall, not so much as "royal" as the place its called. Not recommend to anyone.

Didn't get what we booked, hotel was obviously overbooked, staff didn't try to find solutions instead searched for apologizes, staff was getting aggressive after asking a second time. Room was dirty, shower didn't really work (too less water), room smell after pee, bathroom is open to the rest of the room, descriptions in Internet are wrong, staff didn't call owner, neither owner called us on our phone number we left there. Lost a whole day and 80$ for 2 day. I saw a lot of hotels around the world — absolutely the worst I ever seen : (

Conclusion: Who would like to have it quiet is right here! Hardly any people on the small beach. Also, the small town is in 5 min. To achieve where there is everything: food, pancake stalls, restaurants, tattoo shops, Thai box gym and and and!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The only downside was that the Wi-Fi did not reach my bungalow (which was fine as I spent most of my time at the reception/restaurant area). The food was amazing and the staff were kind and helpful (especially the woman at reception). Would definitely recommend!

One of my favorite places to stay while in Koh Tao. The girl working in reception was so kind and warm. We also ate here — the large fried fish was amazing and perfect to enjoy while gazing out at the waters.
