Review of Fisherman Koh Tao 3*

So, we booked this without checking the reviews first. It wouldn't have made much diff tho because we wanted to stay close to the beach and close to shark bay but we booked very late so there was not a lot of options. The owner is prob gonna say 'please remove this comment as it's not fair bla bla' but we are a lot of ppl with negative experiences so instead of complaining about the reviews why not try to do something about it instead? Aaanyway; The good: We arrived at 11:00 and was given access to the bungalow straight away even if checkin isn't until 15:00 The guy at reception was nice Breakfast was ok. The rest: The room was not clean at all, we took off our shoes before entering but there was sand all over the floor among some other dirt. So after a while I just stuck with my shoes. There was spiders and spider webs all over, they clearly don't try to do anything about them. The bedside shelfs had sand on them. There was several geckos in the bungalow. We tried to chase one out and it ran inside a tiny crack between the wood and wall that was holding the doors. So the building isn't built very well. There was also a big gap under the front door where they could have come in. And when we turned out the lights to sleep the geckos were talking too each other in our bungalow all night. Most likely the geckos had pooed on the duvet after they made the bed so there was a couple of stains on them; but even when lifting the duvet there were some stains on the sheets under. I've lived in several places in the Philippines and Thailand which have loads of geckos running around outside but haven't had issues keeping them out so this was pretty badly done here. It made it very hard to fall asleep knowing they were crawling around inside the bungalow. On top of that the bed was rock hard with the springs poking out so you had to lay like a snake between the worst ones. My boyfriend also woke up with 3 bites in his side. Not sure if it was bedbugs or something else. So unless you hear someone say they've renovated and trained/hired new cleaners, I do recommend you stay away.
