I wish I had more stars to give! Our experience at Pai Cat Hut was excellent. The bungalows were clean and cozy, if a bit small. The grounds are quiet, with a wonderful, fragrant garden. If you are ok with a basic, nature-rich setting, you will be hard-pressed to do better than this place. I can't speak highly enough of the owners, P'Somboon and P'Meaow! P'Somboon gave excellent advice for safely and efficiently seeing Pai, and P'Meaow looked after us as if we were her own family. During our stay, a friend had a bad accident and had to be moved to a hospital in Chiang Mai. Both P'Somboon and P'Meaow came to visit, in addition to refunding all rooms costs and working to get a refund for bus tickets we had already purchased. The nicest owners we've encountered on our 7-week Thai road trip! Can't wait to be back in Pai — we will certainly be staying here again!
A little difficult to find at first. You have to walk into the restaurant and turn left for a reception desk. The owner is extremely nice and remembers you by name! The hut is pretty good with comfy bed but the restroom wasn't the best. The door didn't close all the way and had either really hot or really cold water for shower. Other then that everything was really lovely here. People say it doesn't have a great atmosphere but I was able to meet a lot of backpackers by just haning out in the common area.

Not my first review since I just came from my THIRD stay at Pai Cat Hut. The couple who runs this place has a mantra that they want this to be your second home. Treat it with respect. You might just stay longer than expected! With that said, it was my first time to stay in the cottages. They're a bit dated and a little cramped for luggage space, but if you're not looking to do too much, then get yourself some porch time. I found that really relaxing for reading. You can also do yoga on the grass, play with the cat, etc. Enjoy your stay! I always do.
