I came to the Sanctuary expecting a peaceful, calm and serene luxury resort for healing. Most of the time, it is. But, regularly, you hear & witness the CEO absolutely GO OFF in a vicious fit of rage, stomping around and CURSING (MANY f-bombs) at the top of his lungs at the kind, timid Thai staff.
180 is a trauma healing center. In the Workbook, Ch 1: “Trauma is a powerful emotional response to a distressing event such as war…or abuse. ” Trauma can be as simple as a verbally abusive parent or authority figure demanding perfection.
Our thoughts, emotions and behaviors are the result of past trauma. We are taught to understand past trauma, so that we can recognize and regulate our emotions, so they do not turn into destructive behaviors. This is the MAIN philosophy.
3 times in 3 weeks, Tony exhibited vicious and cruel behavior toward his staff. He calmly leads us through mindful meditation, and healing therapy—then, unleashes the hell and fury on the workers.
The first time I witnessed this, I was shocked, confused and dismayed. The staff swept it under the rug, and then used gaslighting techniques. The third time I witnessed it, I immediately demanded a bus out of there. I tried to protect the secret, but a week later the staff called to silence me. Additionally I witnessed several violations of client privacy & confidentiality by the main boss.
Overall, the other staff were 5 star.

Staff are nice. We got upgraded to 2 bedroom pool villa. Very nice and spacious with oak dinner table.
