Beautiful hotel with spacious rooms. Staff always very nice and attentive! Super!

The free breakfast buffet is good with a lot of options. The rooms are clean and the pool/garden area very relaxing. Nice live music on Friday and Saturday night. Location is great and within walking distance to temples and markets.

At a first glance, it's a nice place. However, the water pressure isn't stable (keeps changing to strong and weak), the water temp always changes (got burned a few times). My parents' room smelled bad, had a small piece or animal popo on the sheets and at checkout, they tried to charge me for extra food at the mini bar which I did not eat. Other than that, staff are friendly and helpful. Nice place to stay for 2 or 3 days.

Nice clean hotel. Staff are friendly, rooms are clean they have a rustic style. Spacious shower. Many options to eat for breakfast. The location is good as is walking distance to many restaurants and bars. You can rent a bike, scooter or take the red car to go around the city if you dont like to walk. I would definitely recommended this place. Our room was on the first floor in front of the pool.

Fabulous hotel right in the heart of the old town. Rooms are lovely & spacious — some have better views than others. They have everything you need for your stay and cleaned on a daily basis. Lovely addition of a pool (which you don't always get in the old town), great way to unwind after a long day of touring the city. Great service for drinks in the garden area. Staff wee very helpful with everything we needed / asked. Breakfast was ok — lots of options to choose from.

Very good but some inconvenience: superior room very nicely decorated, quite spacious, with a small terrace, … deserves 4 stars…
But… bathroom cramped and poorly arranged despite its spacious shower, room quite noisy (street somewhat passing and noises of the water supply pipes of the adjoining room) and therefore annoying if you have light sleep or in case of morning!
The ensemble suffers from a slight ageing (especially the bathroom) which deserves some refreshments.
The rest of the hotel: varied breakfast, nice pool although quite small, attentive staff and speaking pretty well English with a good accent (important in Thailand), possibility of lunch and dinner at any time… or almost!
In short, can be a bit pricey in view of the prices in Thailand but a very good hotel in the historic center.

Great hotel, perfectly placed within the city walls. Nice pool area and really spacious compared to other resorts we've stayed in in Chiang Mai.

Good hotel. Excellent concierge and services. They just need to take a look at the AC system, that can't go below 20 degrees.

This boutique hotel is located in the middle of the old city and close to many other locations. The hotel itself is clean, the staff is courteous and they speak English if you need to communicate. The amenities include a bar/restaurant on site, an open court yard with a pool to enjoy and free Wi-Fi. Some ground floor rooms even have a walk way where you cross over a coy pond to enter the court yard, very cool. During our stay they had live music in the courtyard which was great with a cold beer. There also restaurants, 7 Eleven, pharmacy and more all within sight of the front of the hotel. Would definitely return!

Very friendly and helpful staff. You can ask them anything about transportation, events or tours. Breakfast is probably the best part! Amazing variety. Easy 5 stars.

So the De Lanna Hotel is a solidly OK hotel in Chiang Mai. It has a few strengths and a few drawbacks. Starting with strengths: the location is good. Our room was OK, but had a nice balcony and the service was very friendly. The location is OK — it's a quieter part of the city. It's also in the old city (big square on the map) which has pluses and minuses. The minuses are just that you're a bit further a way from the action which is mostly on the east side of the old city. However some issues (not all of them are huge, I'm just throwing it out there) : For some reason we didn't get the correct room at first they suggested an issue with Expedia. So heads up for that if you booked through a third party that they may not know what you booked. I'd email them in advance. We saw another couple complain (furiously) to the staff about how their room was dirty when they arrived. Something to keep in mind. It wasn't exactly a dirty hotel, but it wasn't the cleanest either. The bathroom occasionally smelled a bit foul. I think the drainage is a bit suspect. Online information suggests this is a 4 star hotel — it's not. This is a solid 3/3.5 star. Again, not a huge deal, but compared to other places we've stayed in Cambodia and Thailand, this is on the lower end of the quality scale. We stayed for 5 nights and I'm happy with the experience. It was a decent hotel. If you can get it for a bargain, I'd consider it.

We stayed four nights in two different rooms because they were so booked. Our first room was the basic room and I was not impressed. I'm not sure how this place gets four stars. The entrance was a sliding glass door with two curtains that don't seal the entire room and you have to push them open to enter. It was crowded and mosquitos were everywhere. They offer a repellent and a zapper with a deposit. The shower drain overflowed after about 10 seconds which is really nasty so I had to turn the water off periodically. The floors didn't feel clean. Our other room was slightly more premium and it was nicer. Less mosquitos, but still there. More space, floor felt much nicer to walk on without slippers. But the shower was bad… The curtain is cloth and lies inside the tub but doesn't fully cover it, so the floor gets soaked. The water turns from cold to scorching every 20 seconds and the shower head falls off, so you can see dents in the tub. Also our outlet burned our iPhone charger and the fusebox had to be reset. The safe did not function in this room. One thing we did not appreciate was we had the do not disturb hanging on the door, and when we came back they still came in to clean our room. On the positive side, the pool is nice, breakfast is provided, and the atmosphere outside looks great. Was tolerable… Just not what I would expect from a four star.

Very nice! Little restaurant there for lunch near pool was awesome! Breakfast pancakes and bacon rocked, plus one of those nescafe machines for coffee. Room was cute, little dated, no electrical outlet near bed… so had to sleep w phone across room (horrors! lol)

OMG, we can't believe on our arrival evening. We had a cockroach welcomed us in our bathroom. But since we didn't like it so I killed. Then its relatives visited us (probably to find him/it) two more days after. I kinda didn't want to be sinner than I already am. So I just leave them be and doing their own things. My friend who is terrified of cockroaches would have wanted me to kill them though. But what I'm going to say which made this place worse… He got bitten by bed bugs. Initially, we thought it might be dirty towels. But then the longer we stay here the more bite marks you could see on his arms and legs. We told the receptionist to spray the room/bed… And when he got back from the Sunday night market. His whole body had an allergic reaction… I'm not sure if I'd come back to this hotel despite it's central location and easy access to many places. If I was in his shoe, I don't know what I'd have done. One star rating was to give them a wake up call to tidy up their environment and maintain it when guests are around (hopefully all year round, good for the business). But with this bad experience, I'd think many times before I book this one.

The hotel has a nice relaxed area outside and a nice area around the pool. And a little balcony with 2 chairs. Besides that the interior is old. The rooms are dark and the floor in the bathroom is old and full of holes and spots so it's hard to se if it is actually clean. In the room we found garbage on the floor more places from the former guests. I found the rod for the curtain laying under the curtain and since I couldn't hang it up I placed it on the floor so the cleaning could se it. Hoping that they would fix it but they just left it on the floor. De Lanna Hotel is supposed to be a 4-star hotel according to Agoda. But it definitely isn't. I would call it a low 3-star hotel.

The photos are thankful, but in actual the hotel is of a lower standard. For 4 days papers and cellofan from former guests were left by the cleaning personal in the room. Allover a lots of bugs. Always in cambolage with the curtain when leaving and entering the door due to the location of the keypad. Personal often talking privately in front of guests. Walls, furniture, floors old-fashioned. The floor at the lavatory is so old that it's not easy to realize, where it's wet or dry.

Nice hotel, located centrally to the old city. Rooms are a good size, my only gripe being that they were quite dark. The garden area is a nice place to hang out and have a few beers after a day spent walking the sights. Decent breakfast selection though not a lot of choice if you are vegetarian. Staff were very friendly and helpful with some English spoken.

This is a 3-star hotel, not a 4 star. The rating is WRONG. Trust me.

Spacious room, great pool & nice reception staff …

We had a lovely 14 days stay at this nice hotel with pool in the north west of the old town. Friendly staff, large clean rooms, great breakfast. Did I mention the friendly staff? We really felt like being at home. Scooter rent and supermarket nearby, just a short walk from walking street and lots of Thai restaurants in the area. The pool is cool and refreshing after a warm day in Chiang Mai and prefect to relax. We will be back for sure! Khab khun krub.

Very nice hotel. The common spaces are very comfortable and elegant. The pool is very nice and big.

Very good hotel, commodities and staff. Not so clean… but as it was bungallows it was acceptable.

Very nice hotel in Old Chiang Mai. Close to a lot of things or a quicker scooter ride away. You can feel safe walking at night in this area too. The staff here is very accommodating and the cafe Mélange and pool is a nice touch not to mention the reading library. Quick room cleans and 2 free bottles of water every day. Free breakfast is nice, although a little too oily for some hot food. One drawback is one of the buildings does not have an elevator, but it's only 4 flights up. And hey, when you're on vacation, at least I know I could use the extra steps. :) It's a very charming place! 4.5 stars.

I haven't stayed here but as it is open to non-residents it is a good stopping place on my strolls round Chiang Mai. Very friendly staff with some English spoken. A good food and drink menu but as it is an hotel it is a bit pricier than other places, in Thai terms, but still reasonable in farang terms. However it's worth it as it has a beautiful, peaceful garden and a pool. I have paid a small sum on a daily basis to use the pool as we live in a house. This includes a soft drink and towels. We'll worth it. From my observations I assume the hotel is good too. Not too busy either.

The best boutique hotel, cute and cozy and the hospitality is awesome.
