This place is an absolute paradise right on the river and organized and designed to follow the same pattern as the riverfront. The staff are super welcoming and it is in a great location!

Most incredible experience traveling alone. The view is stunning : you're having your morning coffee staring at the river Mekong. The family running the place is extremely friendly, the food is nice, you can rent a bicycle for very little money… I can't say enough good things about this place!

Definitely the best guest house of the city. Next to the river, the place is lovely and quiet. So it's perfect to take some rest. The food is also pretty good and tasty. Especially, there is a vegetarian menu which is confortable when you want to avoid meat and fish (very hard thing in Thailand from my experience). Julian the owner is always very gentle, and available for his customers. So, yes the price is probably a little bit higher than the city, but it completely worst it! Looking forward to come back there. Cheers.

The bungalow was clean and nice and had everything we needed. Maybe there could have been more space for your tings for a longer stay. The hotel is situated just at the Mekong river. The young man in reception speaks perfect English and all the staff is friendly and helpful.

I have only visited the guesthouse and as I have not stayed there I can't review the accommodation. It is very popular with western visitors and appears to be well maintained. It has good views over the Mekong River and is close to the main market in Nong Khai. It has a good website.

Had a good stay here. Staff was really friendly and willing to give advice on the city. Bicycles available to get around the city. Close to a 7-11. Great views of the Mekong River from the fantastic little garden area on the river where you could sit and eat a meal. On that note, the meals were well priced. Comfy beds and a cozy interior. Book shop that sells used and new books. Rooms were very clean and had mosquito nets. Bathrooms very clean too. Only thing I would hope for an improvement is on the Wi-Fi. I stayed in two different rooms and both didn't get a strong Wi-Fi signal. The only place with a reliable connection was the garden. Overall, great place to stay and very inexpensive rooms. Will definitely be my place to stay in Nong Khai again.

A guest house with a very nice and friendly atmosphere. Just on the Mekong River you can sit there all day lazy so it's nice… The rooms are simple but very correct. The price too! You can also eat small dishes very well prepared. There are plenty of activities in the area and beautiful walks to do if you have the courage because it can be very hot. Overnight market in the immediate vicinity.

Friendly atmosphere, good Quality and nice view from the own restaurant. They trust their guest so you have to write down what you consumed. Definitly worth a visit when your in Nong Khai.

Excellent backpacker place at the river. Inexpensive and nice rooms. Everything is clean. You get all informations you need. They have a restaurant with self service, laundry and bike rental.

It's a Perfect Place to be yourself. No interference, No activity, No screamings. Just a place for blissful beings. Like Birds, Squirrels, Dogs, Cats and People with smile. It's a no nonsense place. If you can't be by yourself, I would suggest don't go and spoil the serenity of this place. God Bless.

A fabulous retreat just before you cross into Laos. Beautifully maintained and operated by an Englishman and his team/family of friendly staff. On the banks of the river safe, relaxing and very lush. A great place to rest up and use as a base to explore surroundings. At the top of the lane you can find a 7/11… rent bicycles, mopeds, scooters, etc. A short walk to the market place along the river side, in easy reach from friendship bridge into Laos… 5 mins by Tuk Tuk to the train station… River restaurant just below site… great breakfasts and meals available…

Notorious for ensnaring travellers who become lost in its charm, and a vital part of the Nong Khai experience. A combination of things make this the best place to stay including excellent location, unbeatable prices, delicious freshly made food (including vegan options for me — yum! ), friendly neighbours, gorgeous Mekong sunsets, inviting outdoor seating for guests and passersby alike, the sociable staff, and beautiful little puppy, Dolly. Thank you Julian, Pao, Benny, and everyone else (receptionists, cooks, cleaners, masseurs, etc) for running this magical place :)

This is a family run guest house that has been a prominent land mark in Nong Khai for a number of years. It has a wonderful, relaxing garden right on the Mekong River where you can while away the hours reading, chatting with friends new and old, rest in hammocks or eat their reasonably priced food. Most feel very welcome here. Recently they built new, more luxurious rooms that are completely in the tune with the surroundings​. Still great for backpackers it is a lovely place to hang out at before deciding to move on or not. You can rent bikes and there is plenty of local information at hand. The owners are very welcoming and just around the corner is a small but wonderful yoga school. Recommended.

Clean rooms, fair price (300 for a double no a/c), good food, beautiful location, helpful and friendly staff. A lot of information on the wheel of life park and crossing to Laos. No sex tourists welcome. A wonderful place to rest up.

Mut Mee is in a fantastic location with beautiful scenery. There is plenty of shaded, outdoor seating spread across the garden and overlooking the Mekong River. The guesthouse is within walking distance of several restaurants and bars. Reasonably priced and freshly prepared food is also available for ordering. Rooms are clean and affordable. The owner is very friendly, goes out of the way to personally meet and greet everyone, and provides excellent tips for touring the city and travelling around Thailand in general. Guests are friendly, relaxed, and respectful as well.

A great guesthouse right on the river. Perfect for all age of traveller with any budget as they offer : super clean shared bathroom rooms from 200 baht… 600 baht boutique rooms with en suite and 1000 baht fancy rooms. The owner is immaculately dressed and one of the most eloquently spoken people I have met. He is extremely friendly and provides outstanding customer service. Food is also very reasonably priced and top quality. This is one of the best value and highest quality guesthouses I have ever stayed in. Highly recommended.

Ask for the new building rooms. Excellent value vor money. Allthough a little bit too expensive when compared to surrounding guesthouses, I would definately come back again. I was disappointed, that at an expesive room-rate of 800 thb you dont get a bottle of drinking water.
