Overall, we liked Koh Kood Beach Resort. The sea is beautiful, when the weather is good, and life peaceful — perfect for overworked travellers, who live in overcrowded cities. As there is not much to do on the island apart from snorkeling (there isn't even a 7eleven! only non air con shops), KKBR lends for free — kayaks, snorkels, DVD's, beach volley, some beach toys, and mountain bikes (beware of dogs on the road! ). You can also enjoy inexpensive massage in the beach hut, rent a motorbike or go on a boat tour. Restaurant is good (provided lack of choice anyway to eat outside). We Thank the personnel who always answered our requests with a smile, Faa, Indie and others were kind to our child. But for us, city folk with a 3 year-old kid, one point really spoils the whole experience — insects! EVERYWHERE! ALL SORTS! I understand the island's claim to be close to nature, but hotels could at least provide choice to customers who don't want to take showers under open sky * (romantic, but so impractical) with mousquitos or flooded floors (frequent rains May-Oct), providing walls without cracks where termites lay eggs and geckos feast loudly at night, pave and better light up the walkways to avoid snake and scorpion surprises. For 110 euros I expect to have a comfortable stay and not have nightmares about the crawling spiders! Room/beach service would be a plus. Dear Management, I was also very upset about the lack of water and waste treatment. The hole in the floor of the shower — means all the shampoos, cleaning detergents go in the soil and into the sea! The fish and corals are affected! Often Thais blame tourists for the sea pollution, but the truth is you don't take good care of your valuable resources! * N. B. The open shower seems a common practive even at luxurious Koh Kood hotels, as I read, Kiri at 3000 Euros! So mosquito bites guaranteed!
