Staff were friendly, and went out of the way to help you (for a 3 star hotel). We checked in at 2am+, but the staff were pleasant and carried out their duties dutifully despite the late night. The room was of average cleanliness. We found a few ants on the night stand. However, they disappeared after a couple nights. Range of food was limited, but good for a hotel of its size. Overall, it was a good experience. Would stay here again!

It is a decent hotel, but inside everything is quite old, though in a good well-groomed condition. The main advantage of the hotel is its convenient location.

Nice hotel in the 60s style. Rooms to the front are nicer and slightly quieter than the back to the street. Staff is very friendly and the breakfast was also plentiful. (Thai food and American breakfast)

A very good address in Bangkok. Away from the modern neighborhoods, but many interesting addresses are within walking distance of here. The rooms are good middle class and a pleasant change to the hustle and bustle outside. Taxi orders to the airport are not a problem and the breakfast buffet is in the good threes area.

A hotel with good location and very cosy with a pool beautiful the penalty is that you fail services as are the bathrooms and a little cleaning.

Breakfast very good but our room was an imposition. The balcony was too bricked and we were imprisoned. Thank God only one night.

Nonchalant staff, no hot water to wash, room with wall view and breakfast with hot dishes that were cold and with egg shells! For the price I do not recommend.

An old but cozy hotel, there is a pool, a restaurant, a good breakfast, is in a quiet place, to the center on foot about 10-12 minutes. The staff are friendly. The room is spacious. The room has a refrigerator, kettle, safe, large balcony.

Private pool with towels and massage. Breakfast buffet as always great (huge choice and delicious). If possible book room to the pool because Hintenraus gray wall. Were now the third time there and not disappointed.

Very bad service. They ruined my gf clothes and they didnt made any good offer to solve the problem. Apart from that the hotel is not a value for the money they ask. We would never return here.

So the hotel very old and inspired in all rooms bathroom and room we talk about the 2bedrooms 619 and 319 we have occupied. Very noisy we were forced to change rooms on the second night. We hear absolutely everything that happens everywhere the swimming pool in the image of the hotel short not been seduced. And not pleasant at all.
The restaurant of the hotel pretty good and breakfast there is for all tastes well located because near Khao San Road 10min a very lively neighborhood and bcp restaurant suitable for Westerners. And near the temples and Royal palaces on foot and other sites.

The price is quite content. The building dated 60s require maybe more maintenance. The Petsonale kind but little expert.

Everything was up to the mark and at the right price. The morning breakfast was awesome. I highly recommend it.

Always stay here when we have a meeting at the UN offices. Within walking distance. Great value for money. Largest breakfast selection I have yet to see. Great staff. Comfortable rooms. Clean pool.

The location is pretty good. It is close to the night market. The staff were really very friendly. The rooms were well appointed and clean. The breakfast was extensive.

This is a wonderful retro hotel. Very cozy. Retro is his highlight. The restaurant on the ground floor has excellent breakfasts. Clean pool outside. The receptionists and staff are very nice people.

Spent 2750 Baht booked a triple room, the results came Super regret, the lives I will certainly than the good too much. First of all, the downstairs service was good, however the room especially old dark and small, quilt feel there are dust, the balcony is opposite a building completely devoid of scenery and none of the curtains are not. Secondly, the traffic is very convenient, hit the uber to wait 17 minutes driver to come around also did not eat, really do not know such a hotel why energy pricing is so outrageous. Some do not believe the booking photo of! Careful booking it!

Is conveniently located near the Kaosan, directly on a expressway — exit the airport Link can be reached quickly by taxi. Some rooms have balconies but still no daylight, as the next wall is only 5 centimeters away. Breakfast is removable. Pool is fine.

Rooms comfortable but old fashioned and especially the bathroom feels very outdated. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is offered through a buffet with a lot of options, both local and international food.

Hotel Super well placed comfortable and friendly not at all expensive I liked comfortable rooms and despite the avenue direction no noise to recommend.

Nice place, great stuff, large and clean rooms, not far away from the attractions, 10 minutes walk from the popular Khao San Road, great breakfast buffet English and Asian breakfast.

Very nice quiet hotel with nice pool.

Friendly and very helpful staff. Outdated furnishing but clean and serviceable. Location is far from trains and other attractions and most cabbies are not familiar with the hotel. Good thing it is near Wat Tritosathep so that's a landmark you can use for direction.

Poor location. Nothing close walking distance. Infrastructure satisfactory. Good staff. Breakfast ok if you like heavy meals on morning (Thai style)

Hotel staff were friendly especially the old man I think he's a guard (not really sure) he is approachable (his shift is from 2 pm to 11 pm). He makes it sure we're enjoying our stay. Unlike the male receptionist with chinky eyes. He is the best opposite of the old man. He did not smile while talking to us. He keeps on insisting about about our arrival and departure in our passport. He's bit rude not until we told them that we are teachers in Thailand he tried to fake a smile but were already disappointed with him.

The rooms are unremarkable, well located and good treatment of staff.

Great hotel with on a good location! Near the citycentre, within walking distance from Khao San Road. The rooms are fine, nice beds and bathroom. The staff is friendly and the Wi-Fi is free in the rooms and lobby. Breakfast was very varied, with fresh products. The swimmingpool is nice, but the water was very hot.

Please fix the unsafe stair fence, see photo! My daughter could fall through it. Nice but basic hotel. People are friendly and the food is good. The pool is behind the parking place and therefor not in safe environment for kids. Rooms are noisy.

Furniture and design was out of date. The water from the bathtub is very pathetic and there is no hot water. The view of the room is facing to the wall. This is rather "poetic"

Too expensive for the quality of service: dirty, noisy, bad situation! I don't advice you to go there.

In the Old City area, the Chinese area, the tourists not to get agoda on the recommendation of lied, the facilities are old and in the old city, the traffic is relatively not very convenient, many taxi drivers are reluctant to come. This hotel value for money is not high…

Great hotel. A tad pricy but service and standard makes up for it. They have a great cantonese dimsum restaurant in the building.

Nice place, clean and comfortable to stay, helpful and good-natured hotel staff, delicious food at the restaurant. Price reasonable without compromising quality of goods and services. Relatively close to big shopping malls like MBK. I will not hesitate to stay in this hotel in any of my return trip. I will also tell friends who plan to visit Bangkok.

Staff very helpful and trustworthy in helping us w/ a variety of needs after landing in BKK w/ some language barrier issues. Trust them, NOT cabbies and guides (who are incentivized to divert you to tourist traps that kick back to them for 'referrals'. ) Rooms boast fridges and balconies — clean and comfortable but slightly worn. Restaurant is expensive, walk around the corner for better food @1/3 the baht. Location was okay — quick tuk tuk access to old city for 40 baht ($1.30) You can get a relatively cheap massage at the pool-which are both very relaxing.

Bugs crawling around the room at night. Cockroaches everywhere! Stayed for 4nights, with regret. Bit deceiving by hotel pics. On the brighter side, Cafe Democ staff were outstanding, although pricey for what you get.

Excellent value for money, we booked a double room, are spacious, clean and bright. There is no room service, a swimming pool and a tuk tuk service to Kaosan Road.
Overall we loved it and would recommend it to anyone on a low budget and doesn't want to sleep in the hectic Kaosan.

Stayed here as part of a tour. Able to walk to markets/nightlife — this hotel is in the old part of Bangkok. Had to catch a cab into the city to visit friends and in peak hour took just over an hour. Pool was nice and deep. Beer garden to relax external to the main hotel. Lift parallel to front door smelt quite strongly of bleach (ended up only taking the stairs — difficult sometimes in heels :D). Overall presentation of rooms was pretty good for price range of tour we were on.

Well what can I say? Scoop and he's the least scoop. Praised more. Old already quite hotel.
