The best place to do your vaccation especially Riu Jambo Hotel.

Cosy and wide room, the bed is confortable, the bathroom is clean, warm welcome by the hotel staff, I recommend this hotel.

My wife and I stopped there yesterday for a stroll and lunch. Place could be awesome but appeared unkept, almost shabby. Nice view and clean dining room. Staff that attended to us was friendly! But the food? We ordered a pizza and two beers, took a long time for the pizza to come but this is not untypical of service in Zanzibar. Pizza was awful! How do you mess up a pizza? And for a “happening” hotel on the beach it appeared all but deserted. I’ve seen many hotels more active and although the pool was huge I’ve seen better. This is your only swimming option although your next to the ocean at this location there is no beach for swimming.

The place looks lovely, the views amazing but the rooms are very dated, the food is terrible and they need to adhere to some health and safety rules when dealing with fire. On New Years eve a person caught fire trying to light the 2020 sign… it was horrific to watch along with all the party goers…

I need to give my review & feedback. I have read reviews from May 2018 back. But it seems the management doesnt care.
1. The rooms are stuffy
2. Linen not maintained or changed
3. Beds are squeaky
4. Food is terrible, particularly buffet. It probably is traditional but doesnt appeal to various ethnic groups. A la carte is better but takes an hour to place an order.
5. Bar tender at the pool is very rude always
6. Hidden costs like infrastructure tax per person per night, only communicated on check out. 4% swipe charge… only communicated when you settle the bill
7. Plenty attitude from some staff, even if English is not their language but actions do speak louder than words. Am definetly not coming back again. Happy new year.

Lovely place but very quiet.

Only visited for a relaxing drink and quick bite. Fine laid back low key relaxing friendly unforced service in simple tropical theme decor.

Cozy and serene environment. Room service needs improvement in terms of speed and flexibility. Friendly front office staff and willing to help with info. Waterfront is Rocky hence difficult to access but provides fun in another perspective (walking on Rocky soil)

Zanzibar Beach Resort is a fine spot along the Mazizini Beach located approximately 5 kilometres from the historic Zanzibar Stone Town and 2 Kilometres from the Abeid Amani Karume International Airport. The resort offers a wide range of class of rooms including suites, with most of the rooms having a direct sea view. It has a bar, and restaurants as well as other amenities and is located right at the beach that is clean and sandy. There are conference facilities and a business centre and wireless internet. It is a place worthy visiting and for people visiting the Zanzibar Island, it is definitely a recommended accommodation facility.

Beach location nearby beach but nothing great about this place… Beach is rocky n shabby which you can't visit. Rooms are good but could hv been better. Food just above average. No value for money.

I am not sure how to describe the place, but need to IMPROVE a lot to try catch up to where they were SEVEN years AGO when I came here on vacation. Very Friendly Staff though. Nice swimming pool, great view.

Don't go there if you're looking for a stay on the beach … actually, there are much better hotels in Zanzibar.

Garden Resort Very careful and nice rooms, we had problems at check out when we could not pay with card, nor did we accept dollar bills issued before 2006, in the end we had to pay in euros, with an exaggerated conversion. I recommend going with local currency always. The price of taxis contracted at overboard reception.

A nice place near to beach an near yo town, somewhere you can get to know Zanzibae Better.

The place looks lovely, the food is terrible, it did improve by ordering a la carta and the food manager cooking for us, old stained towels in the rooms and at the pool. Smelly pillows that changed after this report. Staff try to do their best, they are lovely and friendly. The beach is dirty, having the mangrove right outside their doors, great please to explore. It could be a great place. I thought I made I mistake by booking here but my very wise husband said, I wouldn't have meet all the lovely people from the fishing village next door, literally 5 minutes walk and lovely fresh fish cooking. We took almost all the tour offered from the hotel and the town. Very close to the Stone town. Now we have come to the end of our holidays and the taste of staying here has improved but spoke too early, now they want have charged 4% for bank card, not credit card. We are still waiting for a taxi we may even miss our flight. After all we tried hard both ways but it was imposible to the end.

It is having many improvements done so I am sure it will keep getting better.

A clam place, near stone town and easy to rach from Malindi (bandarini/port) or airport. Friendly staff too.

The hotel is almost empty. Very close to the airport. The pool is large, beautiful and clean. The breakfast and food in general is not bad. The room had very poor water pressure and it was cold. Didn't like it, that at an empty hotel we were kicked out on a day departure at exactly 12 and were not allowed to sit till 13 ( (… This moment of course spoiled the overall impression. The beach can be said no. Dirty and with huge sharp stones. If you want a scenic beach with Turquoise Vodicka, which in Zanzibar is a huge number, you obviously do not come here. But come on business, the most!

It is a hotel face to Indian ocean with a nice view, it's wonderfully to stay there and enjoy you moment.

Nice sunset view and an enjoyable pool… the beach access at low tilde is particularly enjoyable as when you walk to the edge to meet the water it is really a marvelous view that cannot be captured by a photo it was a wonderful experience somehow it allows you to make a calm state of mind.

Nice place for a weekend get away. It can get lonely but that is just the thing.

The worst hotel I have ever been to. There was no airport pickup despite booking and confirmation. The staff then proceeded to lie and say they were at the airport as they lounged at the hotel. The check in took over 5 hours as they claimed guests were leaving when in actuality the rooms were not in working order. I was finally clued in by a group that checked out furious at the service and demanding their money back. In the end I decided to go get anywhere else to sleep rather than ending up sleeping on a couch waiting for a non existent room. A hotel full of liars in management that are not willing to give any truthful statement but instead will lie par very blatant and obviously stupid lies. Funnily enough they have been known to be this incompetent for years. Even the taxi drivers taking me in and taking me out of the hotel said it is known for terribly non existent service. A definite No No!

Very dirty! Towels, sheets grey! In the pool, afraid to go, you can't even see the bottom! Not back here, no way!

It's a nice place, the beach is Rocky though and the place gets too hectic when there are many guests.

This hotel is a beautiful places interms of ambiance but the service is pathetic and worst. One of the waiter misbehaved and didnt even care. Prices are to high as compared to the service and food.

Very disorganised and slow service especially when many guests are around. Food gets finished and they don't even replenish. They take aeons to prepare ordered food. Room service too isn't so good. I wouldn't recommend it for a holiday stay. Less value for your money. Good luck if this is your preferred holiday destination.

The facilities are quite rustic… Hotel would do well with better communication with customers.

The only thing needed is to improve their bathrooms I think they should have changing rooms after sweeming!
Otherwise they are on point.

Excellent Hotel, Huge swimming pool and rooms are various spacious. Beach front rooms are awesome and huge. Food was good. Hookah available too. Overall Excellent service provided by Amit Dhanda. Hotel security was vigilant. Will definitely recommend to visit. Value for money. Wi-Fi is available all around the resort.

Best resort in Tanzania sea view of the rooms are nice, food is excellent staff is friendly and coutseous specially amit. Spice rest is very good and service is excellent. Stayed here for 1night on 03rd may. 05 mins drive from airport. Staffs are very friendly. Will surely visit again.

Customer care zerooo, am calling their phone now for reservation no one picks up and I have guest coming in, its a messs. That's a place of business and not some lonely home.

Went here several times for conferences. The view was good and food was awesome the only thing is I couldn't get a second drjnk.

Accommodation also improvise, Air Conditioning sound too large, eat a little expensive, the train can also.

Food is very expensive and absolutely not tasting well. Can only recommend to drink water. From 2pm onwards loud Indian music is playing. Pool was abit dirty. Staff where very friendly.

Staff barely know English, even ordering food is a lottery. Long waiting time when eating. Food listed in the menu couldn´t be ordered because it was out of stock, and more and more things went out of stock while staying there, yet no one seemed to be interested in re-stocking. Termites in some of the suites. There was not sun towels for everyone. They told us that they had 3 restaurants, but only one was open. Gym in really bad shape, majority of equipment out of order.

Excellent everything minus the food. Great view and customer service. Beautiful stay.
