This place is very wonderful.

What a lovely experience it was to stay in this enchanting hotel. Everything was exactly what we needed and more than we could have envisioned. The decor is absolutely beautiful, the staff very friendly, and the atmosphere indescribable. Being located in the heart of Stone Town, everything is walking distances and the views are magnificent.

We checked in at this hotel last Friday, the check in process was painful because the desk clerk insisted we had booked a room for a single person even when our booking information said two adults and one child. The hotel itself is gorgeous, the restaurant and food is decent. However, service at the hotel is absolutely horrible. There’s no water in the shower, and the worse part is that management could not care less about this. We spent four nights at the hotel and we were not able to take a proper shower once.
If you want to enjoy the hotel decor, come to the restaurant but do not waste your money staying at a place were employees could not care less about customer satisfaction.

The hotel is a prime example of style over substance. Sure, the interiors are very pretty and it’s in a central, convenient location. But it needs to get the little things right to make the stay more enjoyable. Some examples: terrible Wi-Fi that’s extremely slow and constantly disconnects, our shower drain was clogged so that you‘d be standing in water after 2 minutes, sink drain had a leak so water regularly spilled onto the floor, bathroom door constantly got stuck when opening or closing, very noisy staff calling to each other throughout the day.

Must visit location, food beyond amazing and the venue just amazing. Such rich history! The details in the decor just spectacular! Shame if your visiting n don't get to enjoy (I'd recommend evening)

Excellent food, nicely presented. Calamari, banana in coconut and the superb burger are favourites. The rooftop setting is magical and the staff super friendly. Food takes a while as it comes up 4 flights of stairs from the kitchen! No problem as you enjoy the view. The hotel is beautiful with fabulous artifacts in the little courtyards and passages. Have a good look around after dinner.

Beautiful decorated! Originally designed! Top roof got a stunning view of the old Town — stone town. Staff and management always kind and nice ready to create for you the best experience. Food excellent and especially the coffe which comes from Arùsha mainland coffees farms. Rose the GM managing the place with energetic attitude.

What an amazing hotel in the heart of Stone Town. Beautifully appointed rooms with a lovely rooftop restaurant and lots of nooks and crannies to explore. Breakfast was good. Highly recommended.

Very good terrace for a coffee with a view. Coffees abit lacking though so be sure to order a capuccino if lattes r ur thing. Otherwise pretty solid place.

The location in stone town is very convenient. The rooms are very unique and a cool experience. It's nice to have a safe inside to lock up valuables while you explore stone town. The rooftop restaurant is for lunch and dinner, while breakfast is served downstairs. We only had breakfast and unfortunately were pretty disappointed with taste, quality, variety and quantity. Some of the staff was really great (kind, helpful, professional) but sadly some of the staff was quite shocking (found sleeping in the lobby at 9:00am…). Overall, okay but needs a bit of quality control in our opinion.

Very unique hotel in the centre of the bustling narrow alleyways of Stone Town. Individually styled and themed rooms with good facilities and a unique overall construction to get you away from the heat of the streets.

Quiet place with excellent views of the city and the sea. Very nice decoration.

Very unprofessional and profit-oriented! Our booked and paid room was cancelled one day before New Year's Eve by email. The hotel didn't offer an acceptable alternative (but a 2-stars hotel outside of the city center for the same price) nor did it answer the phone. We know that this has happened to several guests this day. There is no way the hotel only realized that very day that it had overbooked! Profiting from tourists this way on a day, all hotels in town are booked-out, is really outrageous.

Beautiful! The decor is exceptional and the books provided all over as well as the multiple seating areas are amazing! The hotel has huge wooden doors and an indian style with lanterns it’s magnificent! Also right near all the shops in Stonetown.

No views as it's in the city. But the rooms are really nice. The building has an authentically historic feel to it. Made me feel like I was in a pirate house.

We stayed at Jafferrji for 3 nights in the Salme suite. The design of the hotel is unique and stunning! Each room is designed different and the rooms (or suites) are very spacious with Arabian features. The room had two showers, one half closed and the other in the bath, an Arabian style high queen bed with designed mosqito net, T. V with cables and network of Wi-Fi in the room, and both air-conditioning and ceiling fans. The reception process is also very welcoming. We were set in a tiny room and we were served mango juice while they were making the room ready for us. There is a turn down service with candy on the bed, an amazing view atop at the roof restaurant, great spoiling breakfast which goes up until 10:00 and cooking class, for an additional fee. The reason we took one star off. The evening shift receptionist had a sour face all the time. The breakfast take ages to be served and the waitress also have a "why the hell am I here" attitude. In addition, there was Wi-Fi in the room butnit was often a very slow connection. Furthermore, the rooms are pretty dark and could benefit from additional lighting.

The hotel and our room are lovely. The location is in the heart of Stone Town. Your taxi will NOT be able to drop you at the door. Simply put, it would get five stars if not for the staff. Check in took 30 minutes, as they simply didn't think my prepaid room matched my family. I showed them my paperwork twice. Sigh. Then one evening, we noticed the room had been made up, but no new shampoo or bath gel bottles had been supplied. My girls have lots of hair so shampoo is important. We asked for some upon our return from dinner. We were told they would send some up. It never arrived. Expect a great room in a fabulous space; lower your expectations on the staff.

The hotel is exceptional the decor sung to my heart. They must've known I was coming when they built this fabulous wood beauty. Masterful craftsmanship and books in every sitting area just invigorated my soul and the rooms are to die for. Shower and bath set apart than your room is accented with a bench in front of the bed flat screen TV fan and AC. The Bed is made of wood cover with a net for mosquitos and it was easy to call the sandman. The breakfast was a treat. A must stay if visiting stonetown and Zanzibar kudos to the staff who were nice prompt and very friendly plus efficient… They didn't have enough stars for me to rate the place.

This hotel is the epitome of what Zanzibar is a about. Beautiful, serene and full of character. The surroundings, on Gizenga St are amazing, right in the heart of Stone Town, you're never more than 10mins away from great food, beaches and other antiquity. But speaking of food Jafferji House now has the accolade for providing both the beat service and breakfasts I have ever experienced in the world! … and you can take that to the bank. … Thank you all so much at the Jafferji House.

I stayed with my friend and I had Sutra room was booked. The room is nice and double decker and two nights in the heart of stone town have been great. Loved every piece of it. The room is very stylish. Also dined on the roof, it was great, service was great and waiters were friendly. We are pleased again to Zanzibar back.

I spend one night in Out of Africa Suite and this place ia amazing. Furniture is out of this world. The bed is king size bed with African carvngs and artefacts. Spa on the roof top has 360 views of Zanzibar Stone Town. Had a fantstic massage by Fatma, and she is damm good.

This newly renovated hotel in the heart of Zanzibar stone town. It is a masterpiece, and all furniture is really put together by the owner of antiques. If you don't stay here, go and see the amazing place, nothing is as stone town. It is a paradise for photographers.
