Just left after 5 days. Hotel is lovely. William is a excellent manager, always asking if everyone is OK. We did have a problem with the shower 1-2 times, he got it fixed within the hour.

Butiama Beach Lodge, is the perfect Island getaway, after two weeks on safari on the mainland. Mafia Island is very easy to get to, with just a short 30 minute flight, from Dar es salaam.

Absolutely fantastic hotel. The setting is so peaceful, the grounds are beautiful and the food was absolutely superb.

I could not recommend this hotel more! The staff were amazing!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly from the moment we arrived.

We found this was the best place to stay while in Mafia for diving at Dive Planet next door. Rooms were comfy and air conditioned.

Warm and attentive welcome. A small and intimate hotel with only 3 lodges, perfect for peace and quiet. Rooms are very clean and well equipped.

We enjoyed our stay on Mafia Island, due mainly to the Manager Alli and his capable staff.

Hassan is absolutely phenomenal! He took care of us so well! I have many dietary restrictions and the chef cooked me such delicious meals specially for me. Including to die for seafood.

Inside the national park (but outside the gate) meant it was accessible and quiet and close to everything.

We spent four nights at Meremeta Lodge on Mafia Island at the start of our three-week trip to Tanzania. From the first moment, everything was perfect.

Wonderful lodge run by a great team. Meremeta and his team are all just such lovely people. They were helpful, accommodating, kind and gave us great service and a memorable stay.

An amazing place with great diving sites and very friendly people. We felt home from thé beginning till thé end. Thé food was délicious, We lose track of time once there and it feels great!

I booked 3 days and stayed a week! Betty made me feel so at home I didn't want to leave. She went above and beyond to help me with all my needs, as did all the staff, especially as I was a bit ill.

We stayed in one of the wonderful treehouses at Kitu Kiblu and simply had a great time. The team is just lovely and the food delicious.

Basic but clean with a good mosquito net, comfy bed, and decent Wi-Fi. Bunda cooked a great breakfast and was very helpful. We booked for six nights and stayed for two weeks. Great value.

I loved my stay, thanks to having a comfortable room and especially thanks to how helpful my host, Bunda, was during my stay.

The Lodge is very very nice, the gardens and the landscape in general is gorgeous, you can see the owners take lot of care for details.

Earlier this year (February) we visited Mafia island on an almost 2 week long trip and stayed at the lodge the entire time.

Went today to do the whale sharks it was probably the best experience me and my girlfriend have ever had. The crew is so nice and really want you to have a good time.

Great guides and service throughout. Felt lucky to go with them across 7 days to see the whale sharks. Saw sharks every day and loved spending time out on the water.
