This place is classy and exquisite, it is one of the 5 star hotels in Dar and very highly recommended for foreign guests and diplomats, the service is very good and professional, the environment is beautiful, classic and relaxing, the food is absolutely amazing and there are live bands playing music there occasionally. It is not too expensive and the hotel room are like a mini heaven. Also a great recommendation for functions, parties, weddings, meetings and honeymoon getaways. I love it!

Regrettably I stayed here only for only one night as it was the transition hotel for my trip inland into Kilimanjaro, I would have loved to stay here longer to explore Dar es Salaam. The lobby of the hotel oozed local charm. It had high ceiling, a piano lounge on one side, and the reception area the other. The check-in was quick and courteous, and we were treated to chilled juices and towels while we waited. The room was clean, spacious, well furnished but dated. However, the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. We had dinner in the main restaurant and the meal was delicious though not spectacular. Breakfast was served in the same facility and once again the food was more than acceptable. I was able to take advantage of the fitness centre early in the morning and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of equipment in the gym. The gym was located next to the pool and one had to walk from the main hotel building across the open pool area to reach it. Overall it was a good experience and will return to this hotel the next time I travel through Dar es Salaam.

The best food in dar es Salaam. We had crab and prawns. And that's the best I've had. Food. Flavour was to the T. Amazing Staff the chef came down to the table and gave the best suggestions Price — totally worth it. And isn't that costly Would recommend for anyone to try.

You sometimes have to go and park your car in areas with terrible space where it is not safe. For such a big hotel they need to step that up. I also like the security at the gate. Beautiful ambience and delicious multi-cultural. Food. A fusion of Swahili, Turkish, continental and Indian food.

Recently renovated with new interior and arrangement. Very friendly and kind staff. Has a contemporary Zanzibar kind of look in the lobby. Great coffee shop with variety of deserts. Ideally located Infront of very busy office space so good location to have a quick meeting. Rooms also have great, service. A few boutique stores, hair saloon and a money exchange store and has a stationery store and plenty of conference rooms.

Clean but old hotel. The nice grounds and newly fitted gym and great location makes this a good option for a business stay. About 1km from a no-swimming beach and the very interesting fish market. Also a good option for a stay over before catching the ferry to Zanzibar. Ask for garden view when booking to make your stay even better.

Well located near the city center and the main road to Upanga and Masaki. Restaurant never disappoints with a huge spread of food and live cooking stations with attentive service. The garden view at the restaurant is great for Al fresco dining.

The hotel is awesome, from the employees to your fellow customers. Everyone was humble and responsive. I had an amazing experience and will most definitely be interested to come back for more. Dar es Salaam Serena Hotel, y all were spectacular. Cheers!

I've been there for a conference. I heard it is the second biggest hotel in Dar next to Hyatt. The conference rooms were totally sufficient, the food was very good and the staff nice and polite. The Serena hotel has a central location, close to buses, super market etc.

I have a personal complaint against the manager on duty this morning at 02:00. I was next in line for check out at the reception when I bypassed by her. When I alerted her that I was meant to be assisted next she simply said she'll get to me. Then to make matters worse after she had fully assisted the patron who had come after me she refused to give me her full name when I said I want to make a formal complaint about this behavior. I am disappointed that a member of your management staff at a 5 star establishment can feel that this could have been the appropriate way to handle such a situation. Due to her refusal to share her credentials I only have the name noted on her name tag as "Aina". I want this matter taken up and the individual concerned dealt with in a manner that can secure that she will never treat any other guest in this poor manner.

Good hotel for business travellers, fitness centre is very good, rooms are average & seperate shower in bathroom would be an improvement. Restaurants are excellent. Staff are friendly & attentive.

Wonderful hotel and very attentive staff. Rooms were spacious. I would have preferred a shower separately, however not too much of an issue. Breakfast was excellent.

The best 5 star Hotel in Dar. But Quality of Indian food below par and needs a lot of improvements. Perhaps a new North Indian / Pakistani chef will make a difference. Good place for a weekend gate away.

I stay here at least every 6 weeks and am afraid it is a blot on the Serena name… despite being a repeat visitor and a Serena loyalty club member, I was given a room with no view. And then I do not have a hairdryer and my request for one was greeted with incredulity and I was made to sign a $50 acknowledgement! What a disgrace to the Serena name! The staff is lovely and try yo be as helpful as possible but clearly management is the problem…

Very Nice atmosphere. The decor is nice also. Food is delicious, awesome breakfast buffet and lunch buffet. The swimming pool area is cozy and there is a bar next to the pool offering cool refreshments while you bast in the hot sun.

Now Serena Hotel… its place that changes management hands alot, was one time use Sheraton Hotel etc. Nice location, enough packing space at the middle of DSM city centre … Its a very nice meeting place in weekdays.

Attentive service, modern, secure surroundings. Easy access to offices in the area. Good breakfast buffet, ample choices for dining.

Its on of leisure hotel comfort and everything fabulous.

The rating's only for Kibo Bar. Their service could be much better. The place, ambience, choice of drinks and cigars was good.
