We come here very often for the family-getting-together lunch buffet at the 10th floor, or sometimes in a different restaurant upstairs. Personally, I like the couch/sofa seats (next to the window), where you can get the fantastic view of Tainan, the comfortable environment, very friendly staffs and great service, as well as great choices of dishes from Asian dishes to Western cuisine… et. I cannot think of anything or any reason to dislike it. I would say that this is one of my favorite hotels/restaurants in Tainan. So I am very happy to give it a 5 star!

Location is very good, parking is not convenient, and department stores together, and wedding banquet hall, underground third floor flat parking space, underground fourth floor to mechanical parking mainly. The first floor stay, good weather when the high floor scenery is good, the room is comfortable, the TV can be moved very convenient, there are cots and bathtubs to borrow, there are bicycles to borrow. This is my 1st time staying in the hotel. The lobby, front desk, staff are nice. Due to my Jade status I was upgraded to a higher and bigger room, also with complementary welcome stuff. There was a bit disappointed on the cleanness and renovation of the rooms. Firstly, the windows contains "face oil" and fingerprints which show that there was lack of cleaning on the glasses. We had tried calling the front deck to clean but fail. Secondly, the carpet was quite dirty which we can easily found last user dirt. Therefore we tried not to walk with bare foot inside the room. Also room is still using ''insert card system'' to get electricity and open the door but not touch one. I am afraid the system is far under a 5 star level hotel. Moreover, due to the old system the security of accessing each floor by the public lift is so low that everyone can access the guest floor. Besides, I want to make complement to the breakfast at 10/F restaurant. Not only the food variety is great, but also the taste and presentation of the food. We have 3 morning breakfast and I found that there is changing on dishes. Staff are polite, helpful, we enjoyed the live band music at about 9pm everyday. We also took the free shuttle to some famous attractions though reservation is needed otherwise it was quite full. We had swum the pool, I suggest some children facilities may be added such as slides. Gym room is in good condition and has many equipment.

After 6 years to visit The Shangri-La in Tainan, before the special impression, but this time completely amazing! From Doorman Andy to Benny and Freda at check-in, they are particularly intimate, and the attractions and snack maps of Tainan are great for me. Nice location. Staff, cleanliness, service just remain at average, nothing special or surprising. Breakfast at executive lounge would be recommended if you have access. You can taste Tainan local breakfast such as beef soup. From 5-star hotel standard, room, pool and gym remain average.

Stayed 2 nights and had a fantastic stay. The staff were friendly, helpful and very attentive. They went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful stay. The room was fantastic-quite large with a great view. The bathroom was enormous. The food was delicious at the horizon club and room service was quite cheap in price compared to what you would normally pay, but the standard and service was great. Also situated in a very convenient location-walking distance from several temples and central to shopping areas. Would highly recommended the hotel.

Location is very good, in the back of Tainan railway station, opposite the successful university, Downstairs has a large far hundred, across a street is breeding street. Very good value for money The rooms are really huge and with lots of space to place things on, so great for travelers. In the closet there are many hangers and I appreciate it so much. The breakfast is impressive, lots of things even for those who do the classic Western Sweet Breakfast. The hotel also borders a shopping centre open until 10:00 in the evening. Great restaurant on the thirtieth floor!

I am currently staying on 2603 room till the Friday 27 April 2018. Found everything to be fantastic. As a person who is currently working in a hotel in Singapore, I found the service levels here to be impeccable. And as a hotelier myself, I know the importance of compliment letters like this. Though I didn't note down the names of the staff, but please direct my sincere thanks and compliments to these staff: • Horizon Club: The ladies working in the afternoon to evening on 24/4/18. One was at the front counter and the other being a server. Firstly, I was amazed how the front counter lady remembered me from my first visit to the lounge the day before. Being gracious and kind, the server even asked if I needed more tea when I finished mine and didn't even request for more. What attention! • Front Desk: Nice and kind. Though I didn't interact with them much after check-in, professionalism was maintained well. • Housekeeping: As a person who cleaned rooms before, I was amazed the level of consistency maintained. All toiletries were replenished and special requests (additional bottles) were placed promptly. Please help me to credit the housekeeper (s) who cleaned room 2603 from 23/4/18 to 26/4/18 while I was in-house. Thank you! I will ask for their names if possible and write a thorough review upon check-out on Tripadvisor. Well done and keep up the good work!

Very good, quiet, comfortable!
No matter what department of staff are very polite afraid cordial. Front porch too small moving line let people walk inconvenience,, check in is 4/20th 4:30 several doors are not open, also no one guide, make people uncomfortable in the room mineral water only 2 bottles too little! Everything was very nice. The only negative thing I would say is the breakfast is very pricey (compare to local prices), and the taste was quite average. Perhaps it's convenient, especially for families with children, as the breakfast cafe's setting was very nice and the buffet does offer wide range of options. Another thing I noticed was, the hotel's quote for arrival pick up from HSR station is $400 per person, where you could jump into a taxi with up to 4 people for just under $400 a ride. Unless you have a few large luggage bags, or your booking comes with complimentary pick up, taxi seems to be more economical way to go. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in visiting Tainan.

I’ve traveled all over Taiwan during the past decade, but this is my first trip to Tainan. The food culture here is diverse and delicious. The hotel is conveniently near the main train station and has a full department store attached to it. Shuttles are available to the night markets as well as most of the city attractions. The only downside is that it is an older hotel, but I felt that the superior staff service more than compensate.

Everything was as good as what one would expect from Shangri-La. Nevertheless, the staff in Horizon Club is beyond my expectation. In particular, Eva was extremely friendly. I arrived on the day entire Tainan city got no water. My parents and I have decided to stay in Shangri-La Tainan for 1 night. I was able to check in through mobile app and they notified me my room is ready with room number prior to my arrival. That was very convenient. I stayed in Horizon floor with lounge access. Every staff in lounge was very friendly with excellent services. Food quality and items have increased compared to before. It was surprising that one of the staff remembered my name. I think his name is Mr. Joseph. I greatly appreciated his hospitality while I was staying there. Especially during check-out, he reminded me to use mobile app so I can earn extra points. That was very helpful. I strongly recommend this hotel to stay in Tainan. Price is great, staff & service are great, location is in central district of Tainan right behind train station. Great view from room. Thank you very much for a memorable stay once again!
