Near the train station. Located in the old city. Near the lake, clean Room. Delicious, full breakfast.

I very much enjoyed all of my communications with the staff at Hotel Federale Lugano. I would be very happy to stay at this hotel again if I have the opportunity to return to Lugano. The official 3* rating is a shame: it would be worth 4* if not more: always super friendly staff, helpful and attentive in all matters, a Michelin-recommended restaurant, and a super speedy room tidy service contributed to a wonderful warm welcome-feeling during the whole stay … Thanks! And from the upper floors you‘re able to enjoy an amazing view to the city. Recommend!

Exceptional in a strategic location very close to the station and a few minutes from the center. Clean neat lysated in minute detail. Plenty of buffet breakfast for all tastes. The staff very nice perfect welcome absolutely to recommend.

Hotel Federale offers their guest a most wonderful and pleasant stay. The hotel is immaculate with a very friendly, cordial and accommodating staff. The breakfast is delicious with many options from fresh fruit and yoghurt to eggs and bacon. The rooms are very comfortable especially the beds and pillows. The location is centrally located so you can walk to the center, train station, etc. I look forward to returning to this hotel next year.

Our experience was wonderful. The group we had with us on our tour enjoyed every minute. The rooms were clean and nice and the food and service were perfect. Carol and Hans Niederer.

We loved this hotel… it is well located, down the (long) hill from the train station. It was spacious, clean, and friendly. The breakfast was well appointed and generous as well. Upon checking out they even helped us get our luggage (we were 2 adults, 4 children) up the hill back to the train station. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and stay again!

A lovely hotel to which we were making a return visit. Despite being close to (but downhill from) the main station the hotel is very quiet — when I opened thed window I could hear birds singing in the trees nearby. The beds are very comfortable, the staff efficient and welcoming and the food is superb. We will be back!

Back in this place, for this time, a professional seminar instead of vacation.
Warm and perfectly individualized reception despite a group arrival. Clean room and perfect bedding. Soundproofing between the rooms and the perfect hallway. Finding myself at the first, not far from the stairs and the elevator, I was not disturbed by the noise.

Nice and clean studio apartment. The mini kitchenette is fully equip to cook a simple meal for my toddler, just that there are no kitchen knives.

Very good reception, I really appreciated the diversity and effort of the staff to express themselves in French.
The restaurant is very good, and the service very nice.
For the room, very nice and clean, with a balcony it's very nice.
Close to the train station it is very convenient and the surroundings are beautiful.
The hotel in height allows you to get a nice view of the lake and the pedestrian city centre allow good walks.
In conclusion, very friendly hotel where there is nothing lacking and ideally positioned I recommend!

This was a beautiful location, and we had a perfect view of the lake on a top floor! Lugano was beautiful, and the hotel location was close to all the amenities. Also, the complimentary breakfast was amazing! There was a wide selection, and the flavors were very nice.

This was my first time here, but my family has been before. I heard how great it was from them, but had to experience it for myself. Luisa made the visit AMAZING! She is an incredible person and a huge asset to this hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable. The pillows could have been more comfortable, but the front desk got us some and it was fine. The breakfast was great! Lots to choose from and great service! The new renovations are very nice! So clean and very comfortable. The location at the foot of the train station and right down town Lugano is a definite plus! I'll definitely stay here again!

Hotel Federale is a “wonderful” place to stay. I have stayed there twice, and will continue to stay each time I visit Lugano. From the moment you walk through the front door and throughout your visit, the staff is professional, friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make you feel like you are at home. The views are spectacular and the food is delicious. Their location is near the train, the bus, restaurants, cafes and endless stores. Thank you. We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed (2 adults and 5 children) in your hotel and had a lot of fun.
The rooms are spacious, well furnished and the bedding is a real dream! The staff are very friendly.
If we return to Lugano we will return with great pleasure!

Very convenient hotel as right next to the train station. Very friendly and always a presence all night. Correct room without more but possible with balcony and view over Lugano and the lake. Very good value for money.

Dear to the Stars for the location.

I am not saying in love, but almost. To such an extent that, without naming it, I mentioned it in my last screenplay, Dossier Davos, for the Swiss radio, in which I tell a protagonist "I'm fond of a nice hotel just below the station where I served and revered as a Pasha"… Ok, to find a flaw… on Tv you do not see many Italian channels. Because?

Family friendly hotel with very good restaurant.

Excellent Hotel. Staff very friendly, solìcito and professional. Excellent cleanliness. Optimal food. Impeccable room. Surely we will come back and have already recommended it.

Nice room and nice breakfast. Charming hotel with pleasant walk down to the shoreline and shops. There is need for much better description of exactly where the ramp is to walk down with luggage from the train. We didn't know there was a ramp and it was awful taking heavy luggage down many flights of stairs. The hotel needs a very clear map and description of how to find the ramp and that there is one.

This started with a perfect reception: we were able to get our room at 12:30 pm. Unsolicited we received various documents about Lugano, the coveted Ticino ticket for free travel in the whole canton and only a 10. — — Fr. — Voucher for the restaurant San Lorenzo. The (comfort) room proved to be very generous, with balcony, with a view of the Monte Brè, with very good noise isolation, with a super equipped bathroom. We slept well in each of the three nights. Excellent breakfast, very competent, friendly staff. And last but not least: for us we travelled with public transport: the excellent location directly opposite the train station. The "Federale" is really a hotel to come back!

Our stay at the Hotel Federale was wonderful, great service, beautiful food and fabulous views. Would love to go back sometime, I think we just might.

This hotel is located in a very convenient location for travelers. A short walk from the beautiful train station, and moments via funiculare to town center. Views of the lake from the large windows and patio in guest rooms. This property is very clean and the staff is very courteous. Felt like being at home with family. Our room was beautiful, comfortable, and affordable.

Perfect location from the train station (2 min walk) and town centre. Nice and cozy room with good view of the city, and a good selection of breakfast. Very helpful staffs too (one of them speaks pretty good Chinese)! We will stay here for sure if we visit Lugano again.

Loved this hotel! It's very conveniently situated and our room was wonderful. We were lucky to have a front row center view of the fireworks from our balcony on Swiss Independence Day. Lugano is a lovely city. We would definitely recommend traveling here and staying at the Hotel Federale again!

Good food, great service, courteous staff and always helpful.

I loved it very much. The staff is very friendly. They help us if we don't know how to get to a place. It's five minutes from the train station. Ten minutes from the center. 15 min from the lake, it's a demonstration. I had fun.

We stayed here for 10 days in early June 17 There is nothing we could fault with this establishment a very clean comfortable Deco style hotel. The staff were excellent in all respects. The included Breakfast was a treat with a great selection of food ready to start the day, The hotel restaurant was also very nice sitting outside at night and the menu made a change from eating Pasta & Pizza in many of the local restaurants in town. The location is also ideal just a short walk to the main station and down the hill into the town. We were lucky enough to have a lovely room with a balcony looking towards Monte Bre The only regret was having to return to our home in Melbourne Australia where it is Winter now and very cold! We will always have good memories of this place and will be sure to return again.

The position of the hotel on the heights of the city is an asset, but requires a little exercise to trace the edges of the Lake.

Excellent staff and good facilities in the hotel, due to the price I was expecting something more luxurious, but, still worth the money.
