The Waldhotel was known as the Waldsanatorium until 1957 and served as a template for the sanatorium in Thomas Mann's famous novel The Magic Mountain.

➜ I'm just a wellness user. Always maintained, clean, super friendly staff. Also very child-friendly, which deserves another star.
➜ A very nice and modern hotel on the top of a hillside. Since walking up and down can be quite exausting, a private shuttle driver is at almost all times on the go.

This is a fine hotel. But please note a few things. 1. There are no locks on the bathroom doors in the rooms. 2. I came here with a Jewish kosher tour, (cherry tours), every thing was great besides a few details, for example, the group where all “hasidik”, we were the only ones non hasidik. It was a bit disorganized, the person by the desk didn’t know much, we were checked in late and similar. One night the workers got in to a fight and it was nasty. So If you are planning to go to this hotel with a kosher tour, then if you are hasidik and do not mind disorganization this is highly recommended, otherwise I do not recommend it. If you aren't coming with a kosher tour, above (2) isn't relevant to you. Besides for that, I highly recommend this place, it has a nice view over the mountains and its beautiful.
