Zermatt Youth Hostel Hostel

It’s quite rare to have an affordable youth hostel within ten minutes walk of multiple chairlifts. The hostel is sparkling clean, convenient and professional — it feels more like a hotel! And yes it does have a view of the Matterhorn from most of the rooms. It’s also a quick walk to groceries and pubs as well as the Main train station. The breakfast is a great bargain and includes quality cheeses (Zermatt is an expensive town due to its natural beauty and remote location).

Good value, friendly reception, breakfast was all you can eat with decent coffee. Comfortable dorm. We got an 8 bed between the 3 of us, which was pleasing.

A bit secluded, it becomes very steep while approaching the hostel so not good for families with young kids. The room sizes are small and there is no kitchen facilities, just a kettle & microwave. The tariff is on the higher side as well.

Brilliant hostel. Very clean and safe. The breakfast was much better than expected. I basically could have as much as I liked. It’s a little walk from the main area but the walk is enjoyable. I will definitely be back. Wi-Fi is ok and it’s pretty good value.

The downside is that the bed is not divided between men and women. There is also a need to climb the ladder to arrive, dragging the luggage of the people a little hard. Breakfast is very good, there is a microwave can be used, the restaurant space atmosphere is very good from the window can see Matterhorn, four-person bed room is also the window can see Matterhorn.

Very nice atmosphere. The room was clean and the breakfast was not too bad.

Not bad, better than the other hostel that is in zermat which is disgusting! This is at least clean, well tidy… For my taste I would put curtains in the bunks, so that I would have each if minimum privacy.

Stay here for two nights, although not near the station, especially with luggage is very far, and along the way a lot of uphill, but here the room clean and tidy, good weather when the window open can see Matterhorn, is a very high CP value of the dormitory. The restaurant offers an order for dinner, the kitchen as long as the microwave, kettle, only bubble noodles, no way to cook their own.

Great place. Scenery was phenomenal, theayaff was super helpful and nice. All around a good time.

Great accommodation, good service and good food, plus spectacular views, I love it.

Best kind, Best View and Best Convenience except long distance from the rail way station.

A perfect place for the family. Yes its steep to get to — but its in the Alps! If you weren't on the hillside there would be no view. Friendly and flexible staff. A great place to meet people from all corners of the globe :)

He has food at a comfortable price, and he sleeps well.

Was very good, went with 5 people and was given a 6 person room. Slept well, only complaint was how far it is from the square.

The stay at the youth hostel was quite nice, rivaling that of a hotel room. The were several amenities missing, namely a refrigerator, but take that for what it's worth. Overall a competitive experience.

Nos han estafado. Tenian nuestra tarjeta y aun avisadon con 10 dias de antelación de que no ibamos NOS HAN COBRADO EL 100 %. No reserveis, no vayais. Son unos ladrones. Hay mil sitios mejores y donde te dejan cambiar la reserva. Do not ever book here. They had our card and we told them 10 days in advance that we could not go for bad weather and the have CHARGED the 100%. 129 Euros … Do not reserve, do not go … they are thieves. There are a thousand better places and where they let you change the reservation.

Very good view from the room. You can see Matterhorn from the window. The room is clean. Cool staffs (2 guys I met) and comfortable bed.

Hostel staff went above-and-beyond by helping us arrange a birthday cake for our son who was staying with them for a few days this month. They were extremely helpful, professional, and just lovely to work with! He had a wonderful birthday and very much enjoyed his stay at the hostel. We are very grateful for the whole experience.
