The hotel is in good location, near to a street of so many restaurants and bars, the breakfast buffet was so nice with much items and food taste was great. We stayed 2 nights at this venue. Very good location — 10 minutes from the commercial downtown and 20 minutes to the old town Gamla Stan. The breakfast is very good & diverse. Not to forget to mention the friendly staff and the flawless service at the restaurant. Highly recommended!

I stayed at the Jarl Birger for 5 nights and I have to say I Had a great time. The staff is very friendly and the structure is clean and elegant. The Hotel is just a few steps from the Radmangatan metro station, which is directly connected (and only 2 stops) from the T-Centralen central stop. Abundant Breakfasts, the presence of a bar and restaurant, on the 7 floor there is also a small gym which is accessed with the badge of the room. Reception is open 24h. Great Experience!

Good hotel all in all. Rooms are a bit small, but if you stay only for a few nights that is fine. Location is good. Metro station is not far. Market place is also very near by and it's open 7-23. There is bar and restaurant inside, also there is special smoking area in front of the hotel.

Although Birger Jarl is located in Stockholm's center city, the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. Perfect for families and relaxation! Maneuvering around center city is easy and convenient for sightseeing as well as traveling to other areas in Stockholm. A metro station is in walking distance and the hotel staff can provide a free transit map and informatively guide you to your desired destination. Arriving at Hotel Birger Jarl, we were greeted with kindness and a pleasant welcoming card in our room. I was in contact with the host prior to our arrival to tell him that we were traveling with a toddler, and we were accommodated with an infant crib waiting for our daughter in our room. The rooms were very spacious for our family of 3, which gave us that stretching room. Our private guest room was closed off from our living room which gave us personal space. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean. In our guest room we were offered free toiletries, bathrobes, a coffee maker, a refrigerator, and a music player. The views of center city Stockholm were stunning. No matter what time of day, we would window watch from above and enjoy the snow fall. It's definitely beautiful scenery to see, and we would return any day to watch this quiet city from above.

Quiet and well-placed hotel… Only regret the dining room for the morning which is poorly organized to meet the attendance…

A nice and comfy 4 star hotel! Friendly staff, spacious room, amazing breakfast and a well equipped gym! And they give you a free bottle of water. Probably silly, but not every hotel offers this.

As a tour guide I had several people who booked hotel Birger Jarl. Everyone agrees with the fact that the breakfast is really great. Some have said that the rooms are small. But in Stockholm many hotels have rooms of about 18 meters.

I stayed there last week. And I gotta say I was pleased with everything about the hotel. First and foremost, I'd like to start with its workers, because it is hard to find people who are as nice to a customer as these people are. If you find you're self in any kind of trouble, need advice about the city, want to know where to go… they'll be happy to help.
The hotel installations are insanely good for its price. Rooms are not huge, but they're new and comfortable. And they even upgraded our room for free when we got there! Breakfast is included in the price and it's a pretty vast buffet with, surprisingly, some really good food.
If I was to mention something that could get better are the elevators as they're pretty small for a hotel and sometimes you gotta wait a few minutes to take them because of all of the people going up and down.
All in all, it was a pretty good stay and whenever I go back to Stockholm I'll surely stay here again!

One of the best Hotels in Stockholm. Not sure if it is still open, but when I stayed there for 3 days, I had an awesome experience.

We spent 3 days at the hotel with 3 times breakfast.
Our room was clean and which is very important, quiet and bright.
We had everything we could need and complementary water in the fridge.
Breakfast was just perfect. You can't complain.
It is a bit too far from Gamla Stan (about 2.5 km) but you can also go with the subway in case of an emergency.

Nice hotel, super helpful staff. We had a windowless room, quite small (and rather cheap for the hotel), it was a bit dusty. I don't recommend the room if you have allergies or claustrophobia. The bed is quite confy =) the shower is a bit unhandy. Not bad value for money.

A great hotel in a very good location, you can easily reach interesting sights in walking distance; The hotel is very clean, there are nice rooms and above all a great as well as extensive FRÜGSTÜCKSBUFFET.

Excellent breakfast, fast Wifi and close to great transport links. Rooms are small but perfectly equipped. No construction work taking place when we were here.

The strong point is the breakfast: excellent products sweet, salty and fish at the highest levels! The rooms, however, are small and different are in renovation… Maybe in a few months they are beautiful! Finally the location is very convenient (only 2 metro stops from the center) and the staff is very friendly and reserved.

Last year I stayed at this hotel for a weekend. I have to say that the experience was very positive. I liked everything, both the room spacious, cozy and very clean, both the breakfast great and plentiful. There was free Wi-Fi, something for me very important and appreciated. The Hotel is close to the metro station and also close to the city centre. I highly recommend it.

A modern, functional hotel for a large amount of people. The supposedly special design is commonplace, the rooms small but adequate, very clean. Breakfast is also nothing special. It is the standard in such hotels, which are mostly visited by business travellers. Breakfast was taken in the foyer. The furnishings are reminiscent of the hostel. All in all: functional and boring.

The room was somewhat clean, and by that I mean there was the previous tenants hair on the shower head which was nasty. I've never seen that. It's not a true shower, the entire floor is a drain. I like a larger bathroom but I'm not complaining about the size as much as I am about cleanliness. The beds are quite comfy and what little sleep I got, was good. The Continental breakfast was very good and had an interesting selection of food. The breads are wonderful and I could eat them all day! Quiet during the night but the noise picks up around 7am. The location is good, not as central as I would prefer but easy for my husband's business trip. **Update** After a long day of sightseeing and shopping we came back to an immaculate room. The hotel kindly wrote a handwritten note, left a beautiful tray of goodies with a side of wonderful chocolate. All to say they were deeply apologetic for not meeting our expectations. That alone moved this place you to a 5 star. It's very rare a hotel takes interest in how their guests really feel and that means more to me than any complaint I could of had. Thank you BirgerJarl, it's the little things that count.

The location is excellent, and the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the room is automatic. Daily Cleaning. Breakfast for any taste. The location is very stable. The thick curtains, you can sleep in the dark. The room was very clean. Free safe. Once a week, an orchestra or ensemble in a restaurant. The negatives are negligible. The TV doesn't support half the channels. It was in the fall, couldn't keep the room warm, but it was cold.

I loved my suite here, it was hugeeeeeee, the wallpaper was cute, the colors, the bed was so comfortable, and I slept so well. The lunch was really great as well as the breakfast and such great prices esp for how expensive Sweden can be. The staff was super helpful, thanks to Alina for helping me sort my uber and for giving me directions etc. Everyone working was friendly and helpful. Such a great location as well!

They gave me and my sister one king sized bed and when they corrected their mistake, they gave us a really big room. Was very nice.

Really nice little hotel staff where always super friendly and helpful, was travelling alone but felt welcome. Food was good in the restaurant, my room was a single and boy was it small but clean and tidy.

Disappointed for a 4 star hotel. We took a junior suite it was really basic at the level of the infrastructure and the room was made around 5pm (one can late…) for the rest its going.

Service was very good! Very helpful people at the lobby at all times. The rooms are a little small but I guess that's the norm in Europe for this price range. The breakfast was spectacular.

My first city break in Stockholm, was very impressed with the friendly and very helpful staff on site any time of day. The room (I booked the double standard) was very well laid out and very functional with as many home features you could need for a stay away from home. TV, safe, iron, ironing board along with tea and coffee facilities. Wifi details given on entry is a bonus, as was the quality and signal strength throughout my stay The breakfast had a really good selection and the grab and go option at the bar was perfect as on my last morning the seating area was very busy, overall would recommend! 10/10

My experience may be off, but I was placed in the older wing of the hotel. It felt like I was transformed back to college in a room that felt as modern as my dorm from the late 90's. The lobby and "brand" of the hotel felt so modern, but I was so turned off by my room experience. I ended up here due to the proximity to the office I was visiting. If you must stay here, I do recommend being asked to be placed in the modern wing — it is a huge difference. If I get the opportunity to return to Stockholm, I would stay somewhere else, even if it was for work.

I stayed for two nights in a room on the 3rd floor, in December 2013: it was really cozy, functional and comfortable. I loved the cleanliness that made me feel at home. The breakfast was really amazing, everything so tasty. My mouth still starts watering when I think of it. The people working there, were really kind and polite.

I stayed here in January 2013 and the hotel was awesome. They are just completing an upgrade to their small but trendy rooms. When I was there, the rooms above the 4th floor weren't modernized yet so be sure to ask for a lower room to be sure yours is renovated. The real reason to stay here is for the amazing breakfast bar included in your stay. The spread is full of healthy, familiar and not so familiar fare. If your from the states, be sure to grab a few of the bizarre yellow caviar toothpaste tubes for gifting. It's a Scandinavian thing I guess. Also, Americans be warned: Swedes talk very quietly at breakfast. So quiet that the dining room can be packed and you could hear an espresso spoon drop. The people are spooky polite. I can't wait to go back.

Nice hotel in the center of Stockholm. 2 metro station to the Center. Enjoyed the quality of service, dishes in the room brought over 2 minutes after complaints. The design of the rooms is excellent. The room is cleaned continuously and accurately. In the morning the breakfast buffet on the ground floor. At stops in a large number of Russian visitors. Only the quality of in-room Wi-Fi.

The reception and service are not the strengths of this establishment.

Through other reviews we did become aware of this hotel. There was also the price right.
The choice at breakfast was super. From vital breakfast up to the unhealthy Bacon everything was there.
The rooms are small, that has us but not bothered, because we always unterwegswaren. Wi-Fi and an LCD TV were even. Great for people who want to document their journey across the Internet.
